TL;DR:
Is FWA full of toxic people or is it a fun con with normal people?

Long version:
I've never been to a furry convention and have always wanted to, and now that I've moved to the Atlanta area, I now have a chance to attend a convention. However, as I've noticed in the past two decades of being in the fandom, there's been a huge shift in the types of people that are in it. Furries have always had issues with drama, but since around the early/mid 2010s, the fandom has had an issue with, for a lack of better term, social justice warriors. Extremely toxic, hateful people. I know over the years I've unwatched a lot of artists because of how toxic they've become. That being said, let me note something else. It'll seem like a irrelevant tangent, but trust me it's not.

I'm also an anime fan, an otaku, a weeb. I've also been a part of that fandom for a little longer. I've noticed a shift in it's fanbase around the same time as the shift in furry fandom's base, except in the complete opposite end of the political spectrum. Whereas furry fandom has an SJW problem, anime fandom has an issue with the alt-right. If you check out a lot of fandom chats, comment sections, etc (Sankaku Complex's journal comments being the best example of this), it's full of toxic people spouting bigoted things about different races, the LGBT, crying about degeneracy (while openly getting off to said degeneracy.) It's something that has really depressed me and made me not want to really interact in fandom anymore.

However, I've attended Anime Weekend Atlanta two years in a row now and it's full of normal people. There are all sorts of people there from all walks of life. Different races, genders, sexualities, religions, political leanings, etc. Sure, I'd see some references to toxicity, but that's to be expected anywhere. But everyone there was there to have fun. All enjoyed anime and Japanese culture. No one screamed about degeneracy or cried about how minorities were infiltrating the media. Everyone was there to have fun.

So, back to the point. Is Furry Weekend Atlanta the same? If I go, will it just be a bunch of furries enjoying anthropomorphic animals and having a good time, despite our differences? Or will it be filled with people who think white people are the devil, or cis people need to shut up, or "it's ok if we're bigioted assholes because we're oppressed" types, or other toxic types?

Exactly what the title says, I'm compiling a list of sites that allow loli, shota, and cub context. If there is something I've missed, please let me know!

InkBunny - Cub only, no NSFW human art allowed, but you're free to link to it off site as a thumbnail. Very active community, lax rules. Highly recommended if you're really into cub stuff.

Pixiv - Allows everything so long as it's drawn. Highly recommended. The only major drawback is that all NSFW has to be censored, due to Japanese law. However, a little black bar is a small price to pay. Site is mostly a Japanese userbase, however the site has become a lot more easy to use for foreigners. Not much of a community per se, as there's not journal features and comments are mostly "nice art", etc. They do have communities, but most are in Japanese so I have no idea how active they are. That said, I cannot recommend this site enough; it's where I get most of my hentai from.

Pawoo - Allows everything drawn and has the exact same rules as Pixiv, since they own this site. It's a Mastodon instance so it works a little bit like Twitter. Don't use this one as much, so I can't speak to how active it is.

Baraag - Allows everything drawn. It's got a small but very friendly and welcoming community. I highly recommend this site and wish to see it grow. It's also a Mastodon instance so it works similar to Twitter.

HicceArs - This site allows everything as far as I know, and you can add a payment method for some of your galleries. I don't know much else about this site so I can't speak for it's community or anything.

Pomf.tv - A streaming site similar to Twitch that allows loli/shota/cub content.

Telegram - A messenger application; somewhat similar to Discord but you host channels rather than an entire server. Unless you upload an image as a file download, then they will be uploaded in lower quality. Hit and miss, really.

You're an idiot if you think it is. You also muddy the conversation when you use CP to refer to artwork. In America, drawings of underage characters in porn isn't illegal on a federal level. There are a few states an local counties/cities that lump it with photos/videos. Overall though, it's not illegal, and honestly police and the FBI cannot be bothered to waste their time, for the most part, because they're out catching real predators harming real children.

You cannot honestly tell me with a straight face that lines on a sheet of paper or some pixels on a screen are even remotely equivalent to the suffering that goes on when some sick fuck decides to ruin a child's life for their own selfish gratification. Child porn, and I mean actual child porn, creates a demand for more abuse. Drawings do not do this. For fucks sake, stop conflating the two with each other. Stop wasting law enforcement's time by linking the two together. Let them focus on protecting real kids rather than play superhero to something that isn't even real.

These things are the only things I might be able to do, or that I have any sort of passion for. I have generalized anxiety disorder and so working a normal job is out of the question. I’m 30 years old and I’m not sure what direction I want to go in life. I feel so guilty not being able to work, and I’m extremely depressed that the things I want to do are either out of reach or not obtainable whatsoever. I would love some advice from my audience.
