I just realized what is, in my opinion, my biggest fault as an artist...
I'm too critical about my myself and my work.

I know that this is a widely common problem and that pretty much everyone struggles with it at least once in their lives but this is getting ridiculous...

I have a bunch of practically done projects just sitting on my compy but, whenever I look at them, internal monologue say things like "This is not good enough" or "You suck as an artist" and nothing gets finished. I have animations, drawings, designs for clothing and even some writing that's just collecting digital dust. And, to make matters worse, some of the unfinished pieces are pretty darn good!

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that I'm tired of this and efforts will be made to counter it.
So, unless I suck at bettering myself, arts will be posted, commissions will be finished and the community will be interacted with.

Big plans are in the near future and, if they're ever to succeed, this bad habit needs to be broken...

My plans/obligations for the holiday are already in motion and I won't be online (much) for a few days.

Also, I've been drawing more (as stated [HERE]) as well as working on finishing old & forgotten projects.
A lot of the older unfinished works needed to be heavily "cannibalized" but they have a less-suck now.

WARNING:
The following journal starts off sounding like a sob stories but there's good stuff that comes of it. So please read the whole journal.

Ever had one of those moments where you realize that there's a chance that you might not have a lot of time left?
Well, I recently did!

Before y'all start freaking out, nothing bad happened yet but my damn stomach problems seem to be getting worse...
For those who don't know, about a year and a half ago, I started having strong pains in my tum and they've been hanging around since.
(I'd also like to say that gastrointestinal issues run in my family and I've been having various issues since I was 13 years old.)

The pain is always there and it used to be occasionally unbearable but, as of late, the unbearable bits seem to be occurring much more frequently.
In fact, they're been getting so bad that, despite being a heavy sleeper, they've been waking me up at night (an impressive feat in itself) and sleep in general is getting to be rather difficult.
On top of that, for the last couple of months, I've been unable to feel hunger and it's not uncommon that I go days without food (at which point someone either reminds me to eat or I feel weak & pass out).

Which brings us to now!
I'm going to a Gastroenterologist's office this Tuesday for an [expensive and uncomfortable] esophagogastroduodenoscopy.
On the plus side, it'll hopefully determine WHY this is happening & determine HOW to treat it!

And now for the really good part!
The sleepless nights have been giving me a lot of time to think about stuff.
About life, death, work, love, et cetera and, in short, I've decided that I've been going nowhere-ish and this has to change.
I've been socializing more, working on love stuff, working towards getting my dream job, drawing more and working on various other projects!
In fact, once I fully get my drawing mojo back and finish my current commissions, I'm might open up a sale!
(So keep your eyes open!)

And, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to draw a bit before bed!

In other news:
I've been rather busy as of late and not just in the usual my-everything-hurts-and-I-had-to-go-to-the-doctor-a-whole-bunch kind of way either!
Admittedly, a lot of the busy was health and job related but the rest isn't!

Let's see...
• I did the move thing a few months ago and now I'm trying to fully furnish the place (pics and/or videos and/or floor plan when done).
• Been working on getting my drawing mojo back after I lost it in a tragic not-drawing-for-a-long-while...
• Shopping around for a new laptop manufacturer as Maingear no longer does laser engraving on laptops. (More (maybe) on this in a later journal)
• Started planning for AnthoCon 2012 which, unfortunately, means I gotta take care of some of AC 2011's loose ends and I really don't wanna...
• Been working on getting health thing back. Made some progress but still sick a bunch.
• Busy with job and their fluctuating schedules.
• I got a boyfriend and he's the sweetest and I loves him with all my heart~

Anyways, there's other stuff of course but that's the most important of the bunch. (Especially that last one!)
I should hopefully be more active from here on out but I'm not making any promises ;3

Sorry about that guys...
Was busy with a bunch of big things... and in almost every facet of my life to boot.
Now, lets go over some of them!

First up, my work situation:
Work's been weird as of late...
A bunch of my coworkers just up & left leaving this huge gap in manpower that the leftover employees had to fill which, unfortunately, means they had to change my hours around.
They took one look at the hole in the schedule, went "We'll give J the super late shifts!" for some reason and, to make matters worse, they keep moving me to different offices all over town...
Although, it's not all bad! My new office is sweeter than the last and my next one is even sweeter!

Next, my housing situation:
For the last couple of months, my brother and I were looking for a new apartment closer to his school and closer to my job thing.
But, after so countless shitty houses, possible scams (all avoided, of course) and a bunch of dick-ish landlords, we finally found a cool apartment!
I won't say where exactly it is but we have a great view of the Stade Olympique!
Also, my new bedroom is FREAKING HUGE!! (I'll take some pictures when it's fully decorated & stuff)

Next, my monetary situation:
I'm not in any form of dept but I had A LOT of budgeting to do as of late... (What with AC, the move and the likes)
In any case, it's been really time consuming but it'll really pay off in the end! *Badum Tish*

Next, my [MISCELLANEOUS] situation:
Been too busy to check my messages, talk to peoples, draw or do most other types of stuff...

Next, my relationship situation:

In any case, that about sums up the last couple of weeks!
I'll be waist deep in messages for the next couple of days but at least things are "back on track"!

I know it's getting a little late for an "AnthroCon Report Journal" but it's been a rather busy week for me...

Anywho, on with the [quick] recap!
(In point form, of course!)

Recap:
•Our group consisted of Sylus-Foxdragon, Quadra, my furry-curious friend Dan, Jasen Tamiia (he met us there) and myself.
•We were supposed to leave on Tuesday June 22nd at around 10AM but, due to some trouble finding our rental car, we left around noon.
•Our GPS tried to send us in the wrong direction 'cause it's evil... (More on this later!)
•Took a roundabout route to avoid all possible toll booths.
•Along the way, my eyes started to burn again and I almost crashed the car... (But didn't 'cause I'm awesome & stuff!)
•Roundabout route brought us to a middle-of-nowhere boarder crossing.
•Boarder guards were somewhat hatin' on Furries ("Oh! You mean those people that dress up like animals & stuff...") and decided to search our trunk.
•They immediately open my bag and ask "What's the tape for?".
•Without thinking, I answer "It's bondage tape. There's also some rope in there too. You know, for tying people up!" and somehow manage to not get in trouble.
•They sigh and flag us through.
•Along the way, the GPS kept adding time to our ETA.
•At one point, I had to swerve to avoid killing a fox and the GPS was all like "NO!! You should have killed it!! Two more minutes added to your ETA!!".
•The rest of the trip there was alright except for driving in Pittsburgh 'cause the roads there are stupid.
•We get at the hotel on Wednesday at around 2AM and pass-out hardcore. (What does "pass-out hardcore" even mean?)
•The rest of Wednesday was spent goofing off, relaxin', meeting people (like Vinter for instance) and a bunch of other stuff...
•Thursday was for registration, hanging out and drinking. We also got to meet Arandus, Kalira9, Bierzun, Kaltag, Avianmaverick, Lariat and a bunch of other people!
•Friday was when I started to blow my money on stuff in the Dealer Den... Specifically on Bad Dragon stuff...
•More hanging-out and meeting-people was had.
•Spent more money in Dealer Den on Saturday, hung-out with a bunch more people, drank a bunch of alcohol, had loads of fun, etc...
•Sunday was spent working on a dastardly scheme to get my mom into the fandom as a "furry accessory designer" for a possible free trip to AC 2012 >:)
•I hurt my right wrist doing some really gay stuff and loved every minute of it~
•Left early Monday morning and decided to just take the damn tolls... (For under $20, it cut 2 hours off our trip time and we got to stop of at Lake Ontario for a short rest...)
•Had fun declaring all of my Bad Dragon purchases to the boarder dude.
•Once back in Canada, the GPS started to take time off our ETA!
•Only once we got back to Montreal did we realize that this was just a trick to demoralize us further...
•All of the exits that we needed to take were closed and super long detours were in order.
•We finally get to the drop-off point and leg it to the Metro.
•We catch the last train and go home.
•The next 2-3 days were spent taking care of my various accounts, shuffling money around, paying debts and other boring stuff.

Conclusion:
•AnthroCon 2011 was hella fun and I can't wait till AC 2012!

Plans for next year's convention:
•Maybe getting a suite instead of a regular hotel room.
•Will probably take the plane instead of driving.
•Might make and wear a fursuit.
•I won't forget my art supplies next time (i.e.: Laptop + tablet).
•Will work on being more social & stuff.
•Slim down a tad...
•Will make sure that, next time, there's enough time to cuddle after~

I try to be nice and help/encourage him with his various projects but he keeps brushing me off.

I don't normally like talking about all the crappy crap in my life (due to it being depressing and boring) but, 'cause it's not healthy to keep it bottled inside, I'm gonna get all of this frustration out in one go! (And in point format to boot!)

1. Won't be able to go to What The Fur 2011 'cause I have to help a friend move. To make matters worse, I'm the only one in our group of friends that will be doing it completely for free 'cause his help-me-move-and-I'll-buy-you-pizza proposition would only make me super sick.

2. A couple of my friends (wont name anyone though) have been ignoring me for various reasons and it's starting to get to me...

3. Due to budget reasons, I won't be able to get my new laptop till after AnthroCon 2011. (I could buy it now but, if anything unexpected were to happen, I'd be screwed...)

4. Stomach pains are getting worse and no doctor seems to know what to do...

5. The IT company that I work for doesn't want to straight-up give me time off for AnthroCon 2011. Instead, I have to juggle everyone else's schedule around (via trades & such), work on a bunch of holidays, request one day off and I still might be short one day... I wouldn't worry too much though since I will find a way to make it work but it just bothers me that, despite the fact that I'm one of their last hardworking/competent employees left, they don't want to throw me a bone and give me an extra day off or two...

6. I've been having strong feelings for a few people (again, not givin' names) but I either know that they don't share those feelings or that my chances with them are small to insignificant... In any case, it's really eating me up inside...

7. Due to Flash getting me all uppity, that Showcase animation has been put on a short hiatus. It'll get done soon-ish but I need to not work on it for a while...

8. I think someone (again, no names) is trying to cheat me out of two commissions that I bought from 'em...

I know that most of these issues are fairly standard & everyone has to deal with 'em at one point or another but I really needed to get all this off of my chest. In any case, I'm sorry that I dumped all of that on you guys and it shouldn't be a regular occurrence.

On the plus side, I've been working a lot on that art stuff recently and I should be postin' more of it soon!
