Quick Update - Shift Change
Posted 15 years agoThey changed my schedule at work from the 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift to the 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM shift.
This means I get to sleep in!
This also means that I can't go shopping for my gluten free & other specialty foods... (what with those stores closing at 9:00 PM)
AnthroCon 2011 - The planning begins!
Posted 15 years agoSeveral of my friends and I are planning on going to AnthroCon 2011 and we might be looking for extra roommates for the hotel room.
We're still in the planning stages and we don't quite know how big the room is going to be yet but, if all goes according to the current plan, we should be getting the 2 Bedroom suit (with 1 King sized bed in one room, 2 double sized beds in the other and a sofa bed in the living room) at the Doubletree.
That's enough space for at least eight people and, on top of that, it's the closest hotel to the convention!
Since there are several different "grades" of sleeping arrangements in this room, pricing will probably vary depending on where you'll be staying in the suite but, again, we're still in the planning stages...
Also, the earlier we fill those spot, the cheaper the room will be!
(What with Doubletree's "Early Bird Specials")
Alternatively, if we can't get enough people for the super-special-awesome suite, we'll probably get one of those regular rooms...
More on this as we figure things out!

I've watched it a bunch of times now.
It's a good movie and you should all watch the cr*p out of it.
The bonus short is also pretty awesome/messed up.

Posted 15 years agoI finally got the new apartment hooked up with digital cable and the Internet! We ended up spending a little over a week without 'em and we were going crazy!
(Luckily, we filled that lack of constant-information-at-our-fingertips with The Venture Bros. (seasons 1-3), The Batman (seasons 1-5) and a sh*tload of movies!)
Anyway, that horrible ordeal is over and now I can finallywatch some porn check my emails!

Quick update - June 21st, 2010
Posted 15 years agoThe last couple of weeks have been a little weird and, oddly enough, quite productive...
Here's what went down!
For starters, i has a bad sleep...
Ever since I was a kid, I would tend to have vivid/lucid dreams for a major portion of the night (more than most people would) and, because REM sleep isn't really all that restful, I would wake up more tired than I should be. But lately, I got some sort of a dream surge and I end up having ridiculously long dreams (usually with comprehensive story lines!) and waking up exhausted or, alternatively, I just can't sleep... I don't know why this is happening (might be a hormone imbalance) or why both ends of the spectrum are affecting me at the same time. It's just really odd...
On the plus side, being tired like this got me back into drawing on a regular basis! Almost every day now, I've worked on various drawings and projects o' mine! So, to not look a gift horse in the mouth, I'll be starting some sort of commission sale (in the next couple of days) and I'll also be taking trades! (Even if nobody is interested in my commissions/trades)
Next up, a really cool band!
I found this sweet band the other day. They're a French Canadian band (originally from Sherbrooke) called Misteur Valaire and they play a sort of Electro-Jazz like music. What's really odd about their sound is that it's both prime driving music and, yet, can be so beautiful that it'll sends shivers down my spine...

In other news, the job search is going "strong". There's a software company (here in Montreal) that was all like "F*ck yeah!! We'll take you ASAP!!" but then they had to process some paperwork and it's been almost three weeks now... So I'm going to start lookin' around again just in case...
Also, it's movin' time!
The lease for my new apartment was signed about 3 weeks ago and my roommate & I have been fixin' the place up since then. We start moving furniture next Saturday and I should be completely moved in by the 1st of July (i.e.: Canada day). Unfortunately, this also means that I'll probably be without Internet for about a month...
Anyway, that concludes this short update and be sure to stay tuned for that upcoming Super-Special-Awesome sale!

It is not impossible! Mathematically, it would take just under 16 hours (711.47 miles / 45 mph = 15.81 hours) but, realistically, it takes about 20 hours...

What The Fur 2010 - Con Report
Posted 15 years agoTo speed up this "report", I'm going to do this in point form and, to make this journal end on a positive note, I'm going to list the few bad things before the good stuff. Enjoy!
WTF 2010's BAD stuff:
•The Hotel was a little lacking in lounging space
•The Hotel's ATM was constantly broken (made buying stuff in the dealer room a pain)
•The "Dead Dog" after party was a tad too small... (Not advertized enough so people left before it started)
•The con was kept (to an extent) PG (No fun adult oriented panels...)
WTF 2010's GOOD stuff:
•236 registered guests (232 attendees) for its FIRST YEAR
•Lot's o' money was gathered (in charitable donations) for the St. Lawrence Valley Natural History Ecomuseum
•The panels were fun and informative
•Guests included gNAW, Max Blackrabbit, Shinigami Girl and many other cool people!
•It helped convert some people (such as a few of my friends) to the fandom ^_^
•Me and a bunch of my buddies (such as Quadra & Sylus) got to hang out and booze up
•Really nice stuff in the Dealer Area and Artist Alley
•I got to meet some really cool people
•Very helpful staff
•I bought a really cute frog plushie from the 2010 WWF Plush Collection (product number 15.200.001)
•Being in Downtown Montreal, there was always something to do!
•21 Fursuiters in total and many more wore the proper accoutrements! (e.g.: tails, ears, et cetera)
•The con was kept (to an extent) PG (Safe for the whole family!)
In summary, everyone should attend What The Fur 2011!

Quick Update - May 13th, 2010
Posted 15 years agoHere's a quick update of the recent events and the likes in my super duper life:
1) My desktop computer broke and is now fixed (again)! This means that I can finally stop being bored out of my mind!
(My computer's PSU had been broken for the last 3-4 weeks... So I bought a shiny new TX950W Corsair Power Supply.)
2) I'm going to be setting up a sale for some cheap commissions in the next couple of days. So keep an eye open fo' some great deals and such!
3) I recently lost my job due to some weird executive decisions... I can't really go into it but it still kind of sucks...
(Not to worry though for I have several other jobs "lined up". More on this in a later journal.)
4) WTF is in less than a month!
5) There's a really good chance that I'll be commissioned to illustrate a children's book in the next couple of weeks!
(More on this in a later journal... Specifically when all the details are ironed out...)
6) I've been looking for a new apartment (in the Montreal area) and I might have found one in the nicer parts of Verdun!
(I'm waiting for a reply from the landlord as to weather I got the place or not... Should know in the next couple of days.)
7) The Montreal Canadians beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2! Woo!
(Also, I very disappointed in the conduct of my fellow Montrealers...)
Anywho, that pretty much sums it up for now...
