I just realized I need to draw myself a CD cover. :<
Posted 13 years agoI know exactly what I want for my cover but I'm a traditional artist with no scanner. :< Drawing something and taking a low quality picture isnt going to cut it. ><
My roommate has a wacom tablet hes been trying to get me to try out, but I'm so bad at using tablets, and I'm sure I'm gonna just get frustrated and give up after it takes me like 5 hours to figure out how to undo something I'm sure I'm gonna mess up.
ARGH.

My League of Legends players! COME HITHER AND ANSWER!
Posted 13 years agoI wanna know all about yous! ANSWER DEESE QUESTIONS NAO.
What is your preferred lane? I prefer going bottom lane as a support champ with distruption skills (Lulu, Blitzcrank, Alistar, etc) If I have to play other lanes I prefer to play Fizz mid, Rammus or Maokai jungle, or Trundle solo top.
If you could pick one champ to be your B.F.F. irl, who would it be? Trundle. Hands down. Yeah, hes a troll and rotting, sure, but I love his lore, and I love his attitude, and come on, a guy who willing takes on a curse for his whole tribe has got to have a big heart.
Otherwise, Volibear, for....erm...personal reasons. *swoon*
Aesthetically, who is your favorite champ? When I first started playing, Maokai was on free rotation. I LOVE me some monsters, and Maokai was the first one I tried, and looks and voice wise, he remains my favorite. I really wish Riot would release more monsters and do away with the whole big titties/perfect body female champs they like so much.
If you could punch one champ in the face and get away with it, who would it be? Shaco. God-fuckin Shaco. This requires no explanation if you have ever faced a good Shaco.
Theres a zombie apocalypse and you can choose one champ to escort you to safety! Who are you going to go with? Vayne, she would be like, "Zombies? That's all?" *BLOOD CLEANSED WITH SILVER TUMBLE PENTAKILLS EVERYWHERE*
You accidentally crash into a room and catch these two champs making out! Nasus and Warwick *cold shower*
Ugh, you hate your job, but your co-worker who makes work fun is this champion. I demand Lulu as my cubicle neighbor. Hm, this tastes purple.
k your turn :3

This rabbit is employed!
Posted 13 years agoSo, I got hired on at Starbucks, and I'm super excited! I worked for the company back home in Oklahoma before I became a Bank CSR, and I loved it. Pay was great, benefits were AWESOME, and the environment was lovely.
So stoked! COFFEE FOR EVERYONE :D
Also, making progress on the Casino Man track, and still putting thought what I should do for my next project after Broken Earth is finished.
K BAI IRONING WORK CLOTHES :D

Anyway, food!
Anyway, food!
Four more songs to do, and my first chiptune album is done!!
Posted 13 years agoSo, if you haven't been following my music much, I've been working on a mock Megaman chiptune soundtrack. :D I've got 7 of the 8 robots done (Casino Man is giving me a lot of trouble, so I skipped it for now until some inspiration slaps me) and one of the four Dr. Wily stages are done. :0
I do plan on placing this album on Bandcamp for donation downloads (Lord knows I need the money :<) But I should probably work on some cover art.
So....if you don't listen to my music, well...you should! I still struggle a bit with the whole Art>music and comments ratio, but I'm getting better about not letting it affect me, since I'm now living in a house that is really good about reinforcing me that I'm not a bad composer just because people don't reply to my submissions :3
Heh, I'll stop blabbering now :p

Washington update
Posted 13 years agoSo, a few furs back home in Oklahoma have been badgering me to make an update on my big fat move to Washington :D OKAY FINE YOU WIN
So, I've been here for a little over three months, and I love this place. The weather is lovely (even when it's raining) and there are trees for days everywhere, something that I sorely wished for back in Oklahoma. All the furs I've met up here so far are really nice for the most part too :)
The culture here is phenomenal. I got to visit the Pike's Place market about a week after I first got here, and that completely blew my mind. The waterfront was beautiful! I got to see the Microsoft buildings, the space needle, and a lot of other washington icons too. The food here is AMAZING (Had a burger with an egg on it, I was like THEY DO THAT HERE?!) and just about ever restaurant that I get to go to I've had no complaints. I also got to visit Capitol Hill. which is like the college/gay district, and woooooow. just WOW. BOYS EVERYWHERE. AND UNDERWEAR SHOPS.
Now...it hasn't been all fun and rainbows. I've still unemployed, and money is super tight. I'm not really a visual artist, so I can't just be like LOL COMMISSIONS and make some emergency money. Being jobless is the most stressful part of living down here, because along with being broke, I'm also extremely proud, so when my most gracious roommates offer to help me out financially, I feel really guilty, even though I know they mean well. I do have plans to pay it all back once I'm working, but I just never have liked putting people out, especially finance wise. It was getting me really depressed, but I've gotten better about the whole thing.
Once I do find work though, everything will be right as rain (no pun intended)
So, any questions? :D

This journal is all about food.
Posted 13 years agoI sure am chatty this week...o_o;
I love to cook.
Specifically I love to cook for other people. I've never made a meal for one person in my life (I always exaggerate my portions, so theres always extra...oops), and I've made people at my previous job get into screaming arguments over who will get the last piece of my cheesecake. :D
I'm from Oklahoma, and I was raised in a family that believes that cooking and food are essential to the happiness of a household, and the satiation of the soul. Sure what we make would probably make dieters and vegans cringe in their seats, but oddly enough, even though we eat what the mainstream would consider "super unhealthy" my family has all been in great health. My mom actually complains that she is too skinny (5'7'', 115 pounds) and she can EAT.
In my house, it was a requirement that everyone must learn to cook SOMETHING, even if its just something simple like making cornbread. I took affinity to desserts, so every dinner, I'd make something wonderful from scratch. My extended family are still asking for the amaretto-pineapple cupcakes I made a few holidays ago :D
One of the things I miss the most is Sunday dinners with my family. I cook here in Washington, but like they say, nothing compares to momma's cookin'.
How about you guys? What are your thoughts about food? Are you a fastfooder, or do you cook? Do you cook for yourself? Let others cook for you?

I spoke to a young man who'd never heard of Secret of Mana.
Posted 13 years ago...now for those who don't know, that is one of my all time favorite games, but not only that, the soundtrack is probably responsible for me having such a love for videogame music, and influences a lot of my writing all the time.
I was so SAD!
This song is still one of my favorites, but there are so many good ones. AAAAH.
IM GETTING FIRED UP OVER SoM AGAIN.
akjfhjklhfklahs
Anyway. If you have never played this game, please oh please do yourself a favor and pick i up on the wii virtual console (or emulate it BUT I DIDN'T SAY THAT) and be blown away by the era when graphics didn't matter and gameplay and music did. <3

Networking with other furry musicians...or anyone. ><
Posted 13 years agoIt shouldn't bug me as much as it does but...I'm just gonna vent a bit.
I don't consider myself the best at what I do, but I try real hard. I follow a large amount of other musicians whose works I've really enjoyed, that inspire me to make higher quality work.
In the past I've tried numerous times to talk to these musicians for advice, help with promoting tracks of mine to try to get my name out there in the furry community, etc. Conversation usually goes about like this:
ME: "Hi, I love your music, I've downloaded/bought your albums and I think they are really top notch!"
THEM: "Well thanks."
ME: "If you get some time, can you take a look at some of my work and tell me what you think? I could use some help in (specified area) and I'd love some of your feed back."
THEM: "Sure! I'll do that!"
And then I never ever hear from them again. This is both online and at cons I've been to: I've taken time to create CDs of my stuff and hand them out with promises of people who say they will listen, but I'm sure they're probably just ending up in the trash or forgotten in some dusty bin for crap.
I don't want to come off like I'm trying to push my music onto people, but as silly as it sounds, it is so incredibly difficult to get ANYONE to sit down and part with three minutes of their time to listen to one track, or at the most an hour or so to listen to an album. I really ran into this when I finished my "Time" album, which was partially why I got really sad and stop composing for a long time, but I think I'm running into it again now.
So, what am I doing wrong? Are there other ways I can try to network with other established musicians on furaffinity without sounding like a poor hungry dog asking for scraps or handouts?
Any advice? I'm at my wit's end.

Taking a tiny break from the Mega Man project....
Posted 13 years ago...to write something absolutely ridiculous and LoL related XD
SUSPENSE
SUSPENSE
Thank you again for the support! I'm still not well known...
Posted 13 years ago...but that's gonna change! I'm fired up about my music all over again, as opposed to a few months ago when I felt like I didn't have any talent at all!
Mega Man Project is cooking right along, and I've got two more robots to do! I've decided to do Oil Man and Casino Man, suggestions from friends of mine, BUT one made a really good suggestion that would take this project past 8 tracks: How about the Dr. Wily Stages?
What do you think? Yay? Nay?
Also, I need a name for this project, I can't very well call it MEGA MAN PROJECT after it's done :p So suggestions for that too would be awesummmmmm.
Also also....i <3 you guys :3 Thanks for sticking it out with a nobody like me. Really, it means a lot. :3
Edit: ALSO ALSO ALSO. I'm *playing around* with the idea of drafting comics again. If you didnt know, I drew comics for Neopets for a loooooong time a looooong time ago (Jack's Pack, you can still google those, theyre around) and when I played WoW, I did a raiding comic called Noobsauce for a while :3 Comic ideas? Gogo! (And nothing pervy, I've drawn cocks before, but I'm not good at it haha)

Project update!
Posted 13 years agoSo, just to keep you guys in the loop, I'm working on two mock soundtracks right now. The first one is the Mega Man soundtrack, marked by the yellow pixelized me and CHIPTUNE down the right side. I've got 5 out of 8 robots done, and need three more! I've got a name for one of them already (Casino Man) but I need two more robot names! So if you got some ideas, speak up!
The second project is the mock strategy RPG soundtrack, "Broken Earth", marked by the earth icon with Broken/Earth across the top. I've placed that project on hold until I finish the chiptune soundtrack so if you're waiting on more of that, please be patient, I've gotten tons of ideas written down, but it's easier for me to focus on one project at a time, because that way music actually gets written :3
Also, I can't state it enough, for all the watches and views, thank you so much :3 It's tough to get folks to set aside a few minutes to listen to your work; its not instant gratification like clicking on a piece of artwork, so any watch or view I get I'm super appreciative for. Thank you!

Albums "Time" and "Aurora Divide" FREE, and a thank you.
Posted 13 years agosome artists get thousands of views a month, and completely take it for granted. I don't, not anymore. I hit my very first milestone yesterday at 2000, and I wanted to do something special for you all, as well as figure out how to get you guys my library of music I've completed. Well, here ya go :3 I've been working on remastering and reworking Time and Aurora Divide, that was the surprise I was alluding to in my other journal!
----
http://jackchandler.bandcamp.com/album/time
http://jackchandler.bandcamp.com/al...../aurora-divide
----
I made the checkout price to "set your own", so just click buy now, stick in $0.00 and download away. Now, if you're totally wanting to throw some dollars in there, I'm not one to say no (Just moved to Tacoma and havent found a job yet, but thats my problem not yours :x) but please understand there is no pressure to pay anything, I want you to have this for free.
The complete first Mock RPG soundtrack as well as my experimental electronic album is yours, as a heartfelt thank you for sticking around to give my music a shot. I went through a rough time back in Oklahoma, fighting with myself if I had talent or if I was wasting my time, because people back there didn't give a crap about anything I ever created, never even gave it a chance.
You guys did.
so take this music, and download it, throw it on your iPod, throw it on CDs, and have it as your own. Share the link with whoever you want, theres 500 free downloads per album, and that'll prolly never get used up, but who's counting :3 That just means lots of people can have at it! I would be sooooo thrilled to have you guys link this journal in your own FAs if you reeeeally like mah stuffs :3
Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you so much.
as far as what I'm working on now, I'm really kicking butt at this chiptune stuff, so I'm shooting for an 8 track chiptune goodness for that! As a hint, I'll just let you know the next two robot names are Strobe Man and Engine Man :3
Broken Earth is going well too, just takes me much longer to write those!
<3 you guys!

Thank you all for your support!
So, folks asking for ny old uploads, be patient with me
Posted 13 years ago...I've got something special in mind for you.
As for what I'm working on now, I'm focusing on two projects:
Broken Earth: 15-20 track mock Strategy RPG soundtrack (Final Fantasy Tactics inspired)
Robot Mans: (Totally not the title but I can't think of anything clever right now): 8 12track Chiptune Soundtrack for a bunch of fake Mega Man boss robot stages.
Tell yo friends, if you like my stuff share it, I'm really working hard on getting back into the swing of composition, and I love your support!
I will be uploading the completed tracks so far for these two projects, I just don't wanna upload them all in one day and blow up your feed with my spams. :<

Posted 13 years agoI originally intended this to be a big apology journal and how I hated my music before I moved out to Seattle and got out of Oklahoma and make this whole pity party post about how I was going through a rough time musically and all this nonsense.
I'm not, that seems kinda crappy. I'm just gonna kinda sneak back in, and start uploading music again, and maybe people who liked my stuff will take notice and put it all in the past.
Missed sharing stuff with you guys.

Random note, one of the monsters I drew had a cock on it, and in 30 minutes had more views than anything I've ever posted on this account.
Not sure how to feel about that lol.
The Monster Grimoire!

The goal is atleast one new monster a day, anywhere from the grotesque to the cute! So watch it and spread the word! I'll be slowly transferring my art from this account over there!
Thanks! :D

I don't like to celebrate my birthday. My birth is no more important than anyone else, its just a stupid day, so here's hoping its just a normal Friday without anyone trying to spring any silly surprise parties or anything like that on me.
