No Anthrocon this year...
Posted 8 years agoFor the first time in 7 years, I can't make the trip to AC. Just too much stress this year, and family stuff the week after. I'm hoping to MAYBE get there on Saturday with a friend, but we won't be staying.

Posted 8 years agoAnother Year down... Wish I had more to show for it. If you're watching, hope you have had a good one yourself. Someday I'll find happiness again. I mean, I'm not unhappy all the time, but it seems like without a mate to cuddle at night, I'm usually depressed.

Hyper Focused
Posted 9 years agoSome may also refer to it as "Tunnel Vision". I do not know the technical term for this mental issue, but it's something that I know I have.
I'll play the same video game for months at a time, until i get bored with it, not playing anything in between. Thanks to the internet & Netflix, I'll watch the same show until "completion", or until i get bored with it, sometimes forgetting about it when moving to another activity, like back to a video game, or movie series, or something.
Maybe this is a normal condition, though if it is, I don't know anyone else who does it. Is it common enough to have it's own medical journal? Do other people only play or watch one single thing and nothing else, aside from dedicated World of Warcraft gamers or MMO players, or people that only play Call of Duty- those "bros" just have poor taste in video games.

This "Hyper Focus" also effects my friendships and romantic relationships, to a greater degree. I'll meet a friend, develop a relationship, and eventually have a new close friend, maybe more. Most of the time, we remain friends, and only friends, and that's what a lot of my friends are. I guess that's how most friendships start.
In the case of the "maybe more", I develop deep feelings for them, focus on only them, and hope that they feel the same. It has really only happened to me a few times in my life to the only people I've ever made initial contact with (not those that have sought ME out), I develop intense feelings for this person. I think only of them, I don't investigate other avenues or potential love interests while focused on my current "obsession".
Until I think they're not returning the affection, they seem to not be right for me or vice versa due to interests and personality, or I think that I am not THEIR focus... And that's the most detrimental thing about being this way.
Unless I think they're talking to me as much as I try to talk to them, I'll psyche myself out, convince myself I'm not important, because look at all these friends they (appear to) have and contact, and I'm just one of those.

I KNOW, in the front of my mind, that MOST people have the ability to divide their attention in equal amounts, and some like my Ex, are supposedly even capable of equal amounts of love. But in the BACK of my mind, I never believe it, and eventually I push people away or I fade away, depending on my action or inaction. They think i don't care because i stop talking, when in fact i care so much but think the effort is so very futile that I make happen exactly what I wanted to avoid.
I'll never be anyone's Hyper focus, for sure, because I'm the only one that does that, right?
It's selfish and extremely egocentric of me to think I should be someone's ONLY focus, but can't I at least be their primary focus? no, that's selfish too, right?

Posted 10 years agoAfter nearly 4 years in a relationship, 1 of them Married, my wife, and to a lesser degree myself, have realized it wasn't meant to be. She's not the same person from 4 years ago, and the sad part is, I am the exact same.
I'll never stop being childish at times, I may never find my career path, and I may never be certain if i want kids. And it's that uncertainty, and a greater difference of life goals, that has us decide it's just not going to work in the long run. There are some other personal issues, mental and otherwise, we can never work out, but THAT'S okay.
I've tried reaching out to my past relationship, but that has no chance of working, not really, due to distance & living situation. So I've resigned myself to be alone, because I'm tired of looking and being let down.
If someday, someone wants to get to know me, then I welcome the chance. But I no longer feel like looking myself. If i was meant to be with someone, then they'll find me.
If not... Well, so be it...

SWEET - YouTube Account RE-Get
Posted 10 years agoLost access to my old Fursuit youtube videos when Google converted everything- BUT NOT ANYMORE!
So apparently they've added "Page Managers" you YouTube, and I was able to log into my old "legacy" account, make it a Google+ official Channel, and then add my primary YT account as it's manager! So i now have access to all my old videos and can continue to post into the account!
I only had like 200 subscribers, but not having to upload all my videos again is VERY preferable! Of course, I'll have to redo that one with the "Never Give you up" song, cause apparently my 4 year old video was infringing on someone's copyright.
Anyway, I'm happy that i havn't lost everything I uploaded years ago! It's only a handful of vids, but it's MY handful. :>

If you know someone who's got a room from Wednesday until Monday Morn, let me know! I'm planning way ahead of time, just to be sure I don't have to be left sleeping in my car, cause I'll totally do that. :>
Some facts about me (with nifty bullet points):
*HOTEL - Westin or Cortyard Mariott
*Stay - Wednesday Afternoon to Monday Morning or later prefered
*Fursuiter - but I dry out my suit with a blower fan and spray it so no fur-funk. Eye-wink
*Tidy - i like to keep my things in one corner/area so i don't lose them.
*BLOWER FAN - Yes, you can use it when I'm not! It's great when you get back to the room!

*Small Furry - I fit easily into overhead storage bins, and sleep fine in chairs, under desks, etc.

Post AC Journal, life recap.
Posted 11 years agoWell, I know i am almost a month AFTER AC, but life has been kinda busy.
Anthrocon was a blast as usual, though i didn't see as many friends this year as i had hoped, even though i knew certain people were there. But all in all it was a good con, and i had LOTS of fursuiting fun. Even a ton of pics, which I'll be uploading a few of those from others, as soon as i get permission.
as for life, work has been tough, my job gets worse everyday, and my mate isn't doing so well in the regard either.
I am also getting married at the end of this month to my lovely mate
, who i have fallen wildly in love with the last 2 and a half years. Who would have thought the furry fandom would have become such a huge part of my life? Without it, I never would have met her.
Here's hoping things look up from here on out...

I just re-watched that "furry" CSI episode...
Posted 11 years agoI saw it once back when the episode was new, long before i truly knew what furries were, before i became one... I was only 15 at the time.
Anyway, when i saw the episode originally, i thought nothing of it. BUT after watching it a second time today, pausing it, looking at all the visuals it gives, and truly paying attention to all the dialogue, i came to the following conclusion:
Pure Comedic GOLD, from a Furry perspective any way. We all know what the other perspective is...
If this was written by furries, it would be hilarious! Because we don't behave like that! Least not the truly sane people. And those "fursuits"? They look like the production company rented a ton of cheap mascot costumes, animal masks, and other animal themed costume accessories.
The part where i lost it is when the lead CSI, Grisham, sniffs & then says to the de-headed "Sexy" cat guy, "You have a musky scent Bud, quite stimulating I'd imagine..."
I stopped the video, laughed for a minute, then wrote this journal. I can't take this garbage seriously, and i can't believe that most people do.

Columbus fur going to AC? Want a ride? ($ details inside)
Posted 11 years agoI am shooting for a departure of Wednesday morning/afternoon, and arrival of Monday afternoon back in Columbus.
My car gets decent gas mileage (27 hwy mpg) so I don't expect to use more than a tank round trip, if that. Cost to fill my car up has been about $40 average.
Finally, parking at the con. I use the Grant St. Greyhound parking garage, which for the whole weekend costs about $50, give or take $10, but It's cheap compared to the Westin's garage. ($100+ for the weekend)
I'm looking for someone to possibly SPLIT costs with, and if we can get 3 of us, even better.
However, if you can't afford a full split, I would be open to discuss.
I am going regardless if I get a passenger, but I'd like to offset the cost some. And if YOU are already driving, why not SAVE and let me drive you for roughly half the cost? :D

I'm looking for handpaws that are dexterous, include claws, and preferably latex or other no-slip pawpads. THey'd need to not be bulky.
fur pattern would similar to what i have now, just with white short-pile fur palms.
I'm considering replacing the bodysuit of my fursuit, but only if i can work something out withsomeone, and can afford it.
Hope my friends out there had a good new year!

Anthrocon Awesomeness & a stom damaged Scion...
Posted 12 years agoSo, AC was a blast as ever, and even though i was only there Saturday & Sunday, it was worth it. I got to be part of the Guiness Book of World Records setting of the record for most Costumed Animals in a parade, as well as take part in some fun fursuit games on Sunday, which my team, team GREY, won! So all in all, a short but awesome Anthrocon as ever!
Furlaxation is just around the corner, but for some reason i am dreading it...
Now, on to more serious news... a Severe Weather front came through Central Ohio yesterday, cause Tornado-like conditions in various parts of the greater Columbus area, including right where i work in Hilliard, off of Trabue & Westbelt Road. I was in a training class for a call center company, when suddenly the power went out and we looked outside, and saw just massive amounts of insulation debris from a near by building just kinda blowing sideways Eastward, parallel to the ground...
Next thing you know, every car window in the parking lot of 30 or so people lost some or all of their side windows due to the extreme winds, including my new-ish Scion xB. I lost all of my side windows, my back window, suffered damage to the windshield, and my passenger side view mirror.
There's also body damage from GLASS FRAGMENTS imbedding in the paint, as well as larger dents from variosu pieces of debirs. People outside who happened to get caught in the storm had this same glass blown INTO their skin...

I was in a training class for a call center company, when suddenly the power went out and we looked outside, and saw just massive amounts of insulation debris from a near by building just kinda blowing sideways Eastward, parallel to the ground...
Next thing you know, every car window in the parking lot of 30 or so people lost some or all of their side windows due to the extreme winds, including my new-ish Scion xB. I lost all of my side windows, my back window, suffered damage to the windshield, and my passenger side view mirror.
There's also body damage from GLASS FRAGMENTS imbedding in the paint, as well as larger dents from variosu pieces of debirs. People outside who happened to get caught in the storm had this same glass blown INTO their skin...

anthrocon: room for a wuffle, saturday & sunday

I really don't have money for a full room share, but can maybe give like $20-30 for the trouble. It shouldalso be noted I'm a fursuiter, but I travel light and keep my things well compacted.
Here's hoping I don't have to sleep in my car... But I will if I have to...

anthrocon room for 2 needed
Posted 12 years agoSo my mate and I just moved and I realize that we passed the deadline to reserve a hotel. I am looking for bed space for 2 in the either the Westin or the Courtyard Marriott, Wednesday or Thursday evening through Monday.
If you have space or you know of anyone that has space please let me know. Keep in mind that I am a fursuiter obviously and I will have various things that go along with that, like a portable fan and so on.
Oh and a giant waffle. :>

Posted 12 years ago[alt title] #1 reason teenagers shouldn't drive
After packing up my things at my sister's house in anticipation for our upcoming move into our first apartment on Feb 1st, Marisol and i were driving on US 23, heading southbound into Columbus from Delaware.
While stopped at a stoplight between Orange Road and Lewis Center Road, a small SUV driven by a kid no more than 16 or 17 rear ended me.
The force of the impact was severe enough that i was thrown around enough to take my foot of my brake, which made my car roll into a minivan in front of me, damaging my front bumper, and shattering her rear window because a folded up wheelchair rack on the back of her van hit her window.
Marisol was hysterical as well as myself, and after making sure she was okay i got out to survey the damage, which was hard to do on a cold night in the middle of the highway.
The following pictures were taken today when i went to get my belongings out of my car, using my phone...
The guy who showed up to let me into the compound said he was pretty sure it was Totaled just because the back end was so crippled, and it would be very costly to repar the lift gate and underbody...
I await the insurance company's ruling. Even though the Ohio State Highway Patrolman aid the driver of the Hundai was entirely at fault, there wass some doubt as to whether i hit the Van first, because the lady claims she felt her van it twice, and the kid claims that he thought he saw me hit her first.

The damage to my vehicle, and lack of skid marks, shows what happened, as described above.
JUST when i think things are going fine, idiot screws everything up...

If you're an Ohio Fur, or the surrounding states, and don't mind the drive to Columbus, I highly recommend you try and make it! Several members of the
(Buckey Furs) are on staff and running this con, myself included, so you know it's going to be a blast just because of ho crazy we are.
Help spread the word to any furs you know in the Ohio region, even if you can't make it. They may not even know there's a fur con in Columbus next month!
I'll be all alone in the con's "Waffle Lounge", which is just a fancy name for our sponsor suite. There will be small refreshments during the con for sponsors, maybe more depending on pre-regs. We can't make an awesome con if people don't let us know they are definitely coming by pre-regging!
Hope to see everyone there... Please don't let me be bored in the con suite. D:
