maybe i will draw again someday but for years i've been losing more and more interest in making art

i'd like to be more of An Artist

one of my goals is to try to learn drawing different species better. i've got an okay range, but eh could always use more practice.

whenever i do trades/reqs though, i like to have a theme

so to promote diversity, my rule will be i'll only do ONE pic of a given species so i don't end up drawing 15 wolves!! i'll list taken species as i get them

these will probably be digital since i want to do more in that medium, plus they have a better chance of being colored (i'm not setting any hard or fast rules on how complete they'll be but i will at least give you something better than a shitty pencil sketch)

i would like to do ten of these. trade or request, it doesn't matter. if you do trade, i will probably have you draw worldweave races and monsters.

i kind of feel like taking requests not that i ever do half of them

well okay let me see if I can explain this

i've gotten on a kick for humanoid monsters / demihumans that aren't furries. you know, things that still have human faces. orcs / trolls / zombies / demons, stuff that's visibly monstrous and non-human (FUCK elves and shit) but doesn't have the animal head that makes things a Goddamn Furry. (ie: okay so I started playing WoW. I really like the trolls, orcs, undead and draenei first, then the tauren second since i'm a furfag, and I couldn't care less a bout the human-y races.)

i wish there was a good term for them though. i mean, i know orcs / trolls and stuff have 'greenskin' from the warhammer universe, that's the closest i can think of. i generally use 'monster' or 'demihuman' but in furry fandom monster means some kind of dog or dragon thing, lol. and stupid shit like elves and bishie vampires still falls under the category of demihuman.

just to clarify, i suppose this is what i would consider an [INSERT MISSING TERM HERE]

+ orcs / trolls / goblins of any universe or otherwise ugly humanoid monsters

+ undead or demonic things that are humanoid BUT actually monstrous looking and not just beautiful sparkling men

+ aliens and fantasy races that have a lot of animal features, but are not just a goddamned anthro wolf or lizard or cow or something. ie, the draenei, not the tauren. the classic universal studios werewolf, not the furry fandom's version of werewolves. additionally not star-trek aliens that are just humans with a wrinkly forehead

+ 'taurs, nagas, mermaids, harpies, et al with humanoid torsos / heads instead of a furry half. there is sort of a genre for this in terms of japanese monster girls, sort of just expand that to any gender. i actually find a lot of good stuff on /d/ and guro boards for ~weird~ things rather than violent shit

+ginjinka / nekomimi that have a few integrated nonhuman features and aren't just wearing a dumb costume, OR very humanoid anthros (like some of the cats from Swat Kats, not the main dudes, the chick and the grouchy police guy)

things i don't count:
+any fantasy races that are just pretty people (elves, most modern vampires)

+werirdly sized humans, ie giants / dwarves / gnomes (mostly because i hate dwarves and gnomes )

+anthro creatures no matter their origins

+aforementioned monsters with furry parts instead of human parts

+completely animalistic or surreal monsters

i actually have nothing against the last three things, i just seem to be on a [MISSING TERM] kick

i have such a crush on the wow trolls oh gosh they're dreamy

while i'm on it can we have more 'ugly' furries

ie

chubbs guys and girls (there's a good amount of this, i'm just not into the xtreme versions of it)

facial / body hair patterns and fuzz on guys

visibly older guys and girls

basically 90% of everything in furry fandom is like a beautiful animal head on a 20yo supermodel body i'm so bored of it

Oh dear. I am a 70 year old woman and I just happened across this big penis book in my son's room. My son is 45 years old and still single. I think he might be gay. That said, his big penis book is now in my room under my bed. So now my 45 year old single son is probably gay and angry. i like strange things

i like very strange things!

and i have to say that there's a lot of strange things on this site.

it might be porn that looks like it was drawn by a 3yo with crayons. maybe it's a particularly clever imagining of some kind of fetish. maybe it's a bizarre style. maybe it's an unintentionally funny photo someone took of themselves.

i generally attribute my stalking of wtf_fa and its ilk to just me being an asshole, but thinking about it, I think I really do enjoy this art on some level. maybe it is its honesty and originality. it makes people go WHAT THE FUCK because on some level it is more twisted and original than animal people with dicks and tits and fetishes.

I really wonder about what went into making the picture and, in a lot of cases, what went into making the artist too. are they sheltered? are they part of a bizarre culture? do they have a mental illness? where did they get the inspiration for this? it sounds sarcastic and snarky but those are honestly points of interest to me.

in any case, wtf art fulfills the only real goal of art I know of; to be memorable and to have some kind of impact. to provoke SOME kind of reaction. disgust and dismay are just as valid as awe and arousal imo. and that's more than a lot of the mediocre vanilla / technically skillful dreck on this site.

all i ask is that your character/request be mildly out of the ordinary. it doesn't have to be stupendous. just some identifying characteristic that sets it apart from the 900000000 other foxes/skunks/dragons/etc. an unusual species or idea or design challenge would be super awesome.
