Certain Indian people are ruining YouTube
Posted 7 years agoCertain individuals are bulk uploading hundreds of adult and disturbing videos such as scenes of fatal accidents and hardcore pornography without any censorship and with tags such as lol, humor and funny on YouTube and the only connection between these people is that they are all exclusively Indian. What I mean by Indian is the fact that all of these people are from the country of India specifically rather than them simply being of central Asian or eastern European descent. Now don't get me wrong, I'm no racist and I actually have many Indian friends which is partly why this is so upsetting for me as this trend gives India a bad name as a whole and even though there are many of these people they are really a very small percentage of the Indian people that use YouTube however the sheer quantity of videos they upload swamps a lot of the genuine content the descent Indian people are uploading. To be fair YouTube have treated this matter very seriously and have been very quick to act upon it which in my experience is very unusual as often getting YouTube to do anything is like trying to get blood from a stone but whatever YouTube is doing is not working as soon after they are banned they reappear with a new account with many gloating about how they can't be caught. This is only a recent trend as I've only come across it during this year starting rather small in around February and gathering in frequency and intensity as the year progresses. Thanks to YouTube's defective search engine most people can avoid seeing the videos unless they search by date as YouTube's search results are ordered by popularity and as these channels are being taken down so frequently they don't often get the chance to gather enough views to turn up in other searches even with the sheer number of people spam watching the videos in an attempt to make them popular. Now recently YouTube has done a lot to promote their brand in India and I just hope this is not a sign of things to come as I'd really like YouTube to take off in India because I genuinely like most Indian content especially the music and for that to slip from my grasp again would be a real shame. If you spot any YouTubers doing these kinds of actions please please report them and don't just ignore it. We need to stop these people to save the reputation of the good people of India and continue access to YouTube within India because if this continues YouTube will have no option but to block India as a whole from using their service.
Hyena are felines and seals are canines
Posted 7 years agoJust an odd fact I discovered when researching geneology. Technically hyena are feliforms meaning the same ancestor as felines rather than actually feline and likewise seals are caniforms so they share the same ancestor as canines. Technically both are from so far back they are actually closer related to meerkats and weasels rather than long descended groups like cats and dogs. Weird huh?
The Snow People and the Sea Dogs AKA Dur's kinfolk
Posted 7 years agoAn interesting thing I'm finding out by researching mythology, religion and folklore is just how much of the original beliefs have survived today though often its become a local belief and more modern adaptations have become more popular and widespread like how crocodiles became replaced by dragons and now whenever anyone thinks of a giant mythological reptile that lives in water dragons are what people think of and not crocodiles though you'll find some places still hold the original mythology but they turn up in weird places. For example the Egyptians had crocodiles for a very long time but their mythology about the animal only started when people came from the north began trading with them. These new people had seen the crocodile as a mythological creature for centuries prior to their arrival in Egypt and already had an extensive folklore about the animal. The Egyptians adopted the entire beliefs intact without any alteration and kept the beliefs unchanged for millennia whereas the northerners adapted it into dragons. So in an odd way if you wanted the official Norse beliefs regarding the animal you have to look to Egyptian mythology to get it. This is such the case with the mythology surrounding the Snow People and the Sea Dogs. Despite the fact they originate in Canada, the Japanese yokai Yuki-onno and the Scottish cryptid the Selkie are almost perfect preservations of the original mythology despite the fact that everywhere anywhere near Canada has a more modern variation that differs greatly from the original.
The Sea Dogs
Sea Dogs are creatures with near perfect human form except for their teeth but when they are born they are born wearing a magical seal's skin that makes the wearer look and move like a seal though notably it doesn't transform the wearer's mind or body inside. The Sea Dogs unlike most beings in Norse mythology frequently travels between the human and fairy realms with it believed that their actual home lies within our own world despite the fact that a Sea Dog must return to the fairy realm repeatedly for the duration of their puberty or they will grow weak and die. The original explanation of this is that the part of the fairy realm they travel to lies underwater and the Sea Dogs being only able to breathe air must return to land to rest. Sea Dogs are known for meddling in human affairs just as much as humans are known for meddling in theirs. Sea Dog males are very possessive and controlling of females and are dangerously apathetic and intolerant of children often killing the children born from their female partners if they are the product of them sleeping with other males. For that reason Sea Dog females often try to sneak into human society to escape this fate sometimes but not often learning human ways and language to slip in unnoticed. Likewise males do the same looking for human partners they can form abusive relationships with. However they are often discovered when they smile or eat due to their seal-like teeth or when the female member of the pair whether Sea Dog or human gives birth as the offspring will always be Sea Dogs and never humans. Sea Dog babies are born very helpless and vampir are prone to hunting them for their blubber to make soap and cosmetics. For that reason Durists acted to protect them which via the Snow People became known to Dur. This formed the bond between the Durists and the gods of nature and via the Durist leader Woad (Odin) founded the Norse and their mythology. It's believed that the Rowan family were put in charge of the Sea Dogs' protection but all the family members who adopted the surname from their parents were killed when the English invaded Scotland to claim it despite the fact the Rowan family chose to take no part in the war. Since then the truth of the Sea Dogs has been lost to the ages.
The Snow People
Often confused with the Sea Dogs these are people made of snow that look to us like simply people with a lot of white make-up on. They are unisex and don't reproduce by sex but due to the fact that large snow balls make up their lower body and chest they appear female when dressed in their white robes due to the apparent large chest and hips. Snow People often test the moral fibre of different communities of mankind by pretending to be humans in need in times of cold weather asking for shelter, food or other kind acts like caring for a baby. If the person doesn't help the Snow Person kills them in one of numerous winter-related ways. Despite the fact they operate on their own they obey Dur the storm goat and work closely with her. The relay the information they collect about the people of different settlements so that Dur can pass judgement on them and deliver good or bad weather to that community based on the findings. The bodies of the Snow People are made by building a snowman and come to life via a wandering spirit from a dead human or mythological being being given the body via a magic spell which causes the snowman head to take on the appearance of the soul that possesses it. Both making the snowman and implanting the soul can be done by humans, Dur herself or mythological creatures that are physically able to build a snowman and know the spell to perform. Being made of snow they are fairly weak and vulnerable physically however they usually possess the ability to control strong wind currents capable of throwing a man several feet at a time as well as producing copious amounts of snow out of thin air and being able to severely drop the temperature of things they touch so fighting them is not advised. Sometimes Snow People can form relationships with other creatures including humans but they are prone to ending tragically either by the Snow Person's weak snow based body being exposed to warmth or water or the cold that the Snow People produce to maintain their form making the other occupants of the place they live ill with hypothermia or pneumonia. Snow People are said to consume small amounts of heat via breathing despite being vulnerable to heat themselves and can kill by inhaling the warmth from people and places with a deep breath. Sometimes their thirst for warmth can cause them to accidentally kill someone if they get carried away in the process which can happen sometimes when they kiss a person. If they inhale the heat of a person they consume their life force as well in the process which can be used to power spells but otherwise serves no purpose as they can't use it to sustain themselves like with heat but luckily as long as they didn't kill their victim they can breathe the life force back into them or anyone who needs it but at the cost of breathing out cold air which is not very good for a person who's low on life force to begin with as it might just kill them. If they keep inhaling after sucking all the life force from someone they can potentially inhale their soul as well which is rather uncomfortable for all involved but since a soul is needed to make a Snow Person it can also be potentially rather useful. Snow People like Dur are also rather fond of children and abduct children from abuse or negligent parents to take them to the fairy realm and give them a better life. When Snow People are dressed in their robes they can be mistaken for Sea Dogs due to the similarity of their clothing and the fact they both have long black hair but the Snow People's white face and the Sea Dogs' sharp teeth can distinguish the difference between the two..

The Southern Durists of England
Posted 7 years agoI know I'm making a game about the Durists in the north who held Hadrian's wall against the vampir's men but I was doing some research about their cousins in Shropshire and they sound like the most hardcore badasses of the day.
There had always been an unsteady truce between the Durists and the vampir after the vampir bankrupted the Roman empire attempting to defeat the Durists in Shropshire in an attempt to wipe-out the people that an ancient prophecy foretold would be the Roman empire's undoing. The Durists took pity on the poor starving Romans against the advice of their leaders and negotiated a peace treaty delivering care packages to supplement the diets of the vampir and aid their farms since the vampir had been cut off from their leaders on the continent and had destroyed so much of the natural habitat they had occupied via non-sustainable farming that they were unable to grow food for themselves and had already foolishly eaten all their livestock believing a victory was imminent.
The vampir often promised they would one day defeat the Durists and spent the entire time the treaty was in effect threatening the Durists despite the fact they owed their very existence to them. Many many years later their descendants instigated the events that lead to the English civil war following the Durists' descendants' attempts to establish parliament. This time the vampir attacked the Durists prior to the declaration of battle so they could attack the Durists before they had time to build defences. This action was illegal but was supported by their leaders which caused a controversy that would later lead to the Royalists' supporters abandoning the cause and overthrowing their leaders at the war's end. When the Royalist vampir attacked the Parliamentarian Durists in Shropshire with cannon fire they were all accumulated in the local drinking establishment and were in the middle of singing a traditional song about suckling the breast of their lovers (you can't make this up) when a cannonball flew threw an open window and took out a barrel of Ambrose which was a very expensive and rare mead that only the Durists knew how to brew.
The Durists saw this as a racial attack which threw them into a rage but the men being far too drunk to even walk properly were beaten to the door by the women who proceeded to take out 1000 men each armed with nothing but a bunch of kitchen ware according to reports. The fleeing vampir were reported by both sides as screaming "Dear God save us from these heathen women" as they fruitlessly tried to escape their pursuers.
The Durists would later be defeated by the Royalists but not by the vampir. However the Durists lived on in the form of their Scottish cousins and despite being double crossed by their leaders in Scotland and tried as witches they managed to have many descendants though these people adopted the vampir culture and much of the Durists' ancient knowledge was lost including the process of making Ambrose, many traditional Christmas dishes, cures for many types of poisons, an elixir that prevented the signs of aging, prolonged life expectancy to around a hundred years old (totally unheard-of in those days) and seemingly cured cancer and a huge chunk of the history of early man which included the location of Atlantis as well as many other legendary treasures like the location of a huge gold storage underground that is still yet to be found but historians are convinced it exists.
In case you're wondering my family is descended from one of the very very few Durists that stayed true to the Durist ways and escaped the witch hunts by hiding out in the forest. However their subsequent offspring progressively lost more and more of the old ways down the generations as they integrated into the dominant cultures that lived in the urban environments that sprung up around the area. I only know about the ways of my ancestors myself by researching scraps of Durist culture known to other cultures that lived alongside them as my family themselves have no knowledge of their ways or even their existence. I reckon my love of goats is some sort of throwback gene from my goat herding Durist ancestors that's found its way to me. I guess through the knowledge and research I've accumulated the Durists live on through me. That's quite a daunting prospect as the vampir made huge efforts to wipe them out and there are still some people who are trying to carry out the vampir's wishes today, some of which have seats in power like certain political leaders, some high ranking members of the police force and even some high status military officers. Not the type of people you'd want to piss off by simply existing really.

Goat Facts
Posted 7 years agoTuesday, Thursday and Saturday are named after 3 different interpretations of the old Norse god Dur those being Tyr, Thor and Saturn. Dur whose name literally translates as thud is the oldest god we know people worshipped with their image and depictions of famous myths about her appearing within cave paintings. Dur is depicted as goat that takes the form of storm clouds and brings terrible weather whenever mankind destroys too much of the natural habitat and is described as the protector of animals and loyal servant of the gods of nature.
Dur is the origin of Santa's reindeer as in the original story Santa was called Dwende and was a gnome who rides Dur as he leaps from roof to roof with Dur here described as Donner and Blitzen or Thunder and Lightning in English. Because of the and in the name people thought that there were 2 animals and thus the concept of a sleigh pulled by animals evolved. The 8 names of the animals are actually the traditional names of his 2 animals in 4 different countries Dasher and Dancer are American, Prancer and Vixen are English, Comet and Cupid are Greek and Donner and Blitzen are German. The goats were changed to reindeer when goats began to lose their popularity in northern Europe and reindeer replaced them as livestock.
People with the name Heidi are named after goats. Though the word heidr meaning bright forms part of their name Heidi is actually short for Heidrun. Heidrun is a Norse god in the form of a goat who produces fermented honey in place of milk and is the origin of the goose that lays the golden eggs in the Jack and the Beanstalk story. Goat herders in Norse territories were named after Heidrun and thus the name Heidi is a derivative of their word for goat herder.
Krampus is a sinister goat version of Santa from Scandinavia who steals children however that's not how they were originally depicted. Originally they took children away from abusive and negligent parents and took them to paradise. The Romans heard this story and interpreted Krampus as evil for preventing them from abusing their children. Yeah the Romans weren't the nicest people in history.

It's Queens Day (Kinda)
Posted 7 years agoOkay the real holiday is a different month but as I stated in my previous journal I'm having a traditionally themed Durist day roughly once a week in the build up to December 21st to make up for the fact that the Durists don't have the days of Christmas or any other kind of countdown to the big holiday of the year.
Traditionally Queens Day is celebrated by being nice to and more specifically doing favours for all females including animals and those who were born male but see themselves as female. Kinda odd how even 12,000 years ago we had equal rights like this.
I can see no better way to celebrate it than to make art of Heidrun, the legendary goat that eats gold leaf and lactates only the finest mead. They're the origin of the Biblical story of creation and it's believed that in the original translation they ate babies which is why the vampir demanded that they be kicked out of paradise. However when mankind threatened the fairy realm Heidrun called to Dur to send a storm to cast the vampir adrift at sea. Mankind now realizing they had been deceived by the vampir's promises of prosperity vowed never to be saddled with them again and to stay true to the ways of Woad, a promise they later broke by converting to the Roman interpretation of the Bible during the renaissance.
Fun fact
Hadrian is a man famed for building a wall across the southern border of Scotland to keep the English from invading however he isn't the one responsible for the wall. Hadrian was not his name but rather he was known as the king of the Heidrun, the people who worshipped the god of the same name and kept goats as livestock in honour of her.
They built the wall without any instruction from their leader to stop their goats from wandering into English territory where they would be hunted for sport. Turns out that the tall polished stone pillars the original wall was built out of were just as difficult for men to climb as it was for goats.

Making An Albion Themed Side Project
Posted 7 years agoSince I have no accessible PC right now, I'm not able to access my backup files and the content I've worked on so far in terms of Albion. For the time being this means I'm unable to make any significant progress regarding Albion itself. In the meantime I'm going to be extremely bored unless I make something so I'm going to be working on a small project set in the Albion universe but aside from the main plot and characters of the game and series. This game is called Heidra and it's set in the location of the same name in Valhalor during the era of the Itan War. In case you don't know (which is very likely) Heidra is a border state of Albo separating Toxland in the north and Soxland in the south (the two rival nations of Albo). Toxland was once part of a powerful stone age empire now fallen from glory and struggling to survive whereas Soxland is part of a highly successful iron age empire at the peak of its success looking to expand its borders. You'd think it would be a sure win for Soxland but the border state of Heidra is a considerable adversary. You'd think that would be good news for Toxland but Heidra is growing tired of their superiors in the north and is beginning to question their loyalty to them. In the middle of this conflict your story takes place as you try to get by with the world falling to pieces around you.
Races
Albic
The Albic race are humans who founded the Albic Empire and peacefully united all of Valhalor except for Sudland by forming trade pacts and bringing stone age technology to the various races. Later their cousins the Huulanders became jealous and defeated the Albic taking control of the Albic Empire. However in their haste to conquer Sudland they overlooked the island of Albo, the Albic's ancestral home. Following this the Itans waged war on the Huulanders and claimed all their territory except for the places the Huulanders had conquered in Sudland by this point. With the Huulanders almost defeated the Itans turned their attention to Albo and sent a subgroup called the Sackets who successfully conquered the southern half of the island. The Sackets however failed to conquer the island when they came up against the Heidi, an Albic subgroup occupying the state of Heidra which spans the breadth of Albo. Most Albic folk are peaceful and good negotiators but the people of Heidra are fierce and hardy folk. Skilled craftsmen and traders their ability to analyse and deceive is well known. Though most use this for good purposes there's an ever growing number of rogues within their kind especially as their once great empire is on the brink of extinction.
Canismorph
Found in a wide array of varieties across Valhalor some with adaptations to their local environment their agility and teamworking skills made them highly successful huntsmen. Unfortunately their social skills means they easily develop Stockholm syndrome and soon after the very first individuals were captured the Huulanders were quick to use this to their advantage. Those captured soon swore loyalty to the Huulanders and became their doting dogsbodies seemingly apathetic to the fact that they were slaves and put all their effort into supporting the Huulanders blindly. However those yet to be captured had lived in the days of the Albic empire and swore loyalty to the Huulanders' enemies. Canismorphs fought their own kind on the battlefield each eager to defend their own cause but where the Huulanders' enemies fought alongside their companions the Huulanders instead left the Canismorphs to fight for them. This did not go unnoticed and soon waves of doubt spread throughout the Huulanders' Canismorphs. In the end the Canismorphs came to the realization that their masters didn't really care about them like the Canismorphs cared for their masters and at a pinnacle point in the Huulanders' war effort the Canismorphs all left the Huulanders' side together turning the tide of war and sending the Huulanders' war effort into a downwards spiral of inevitable failure. It's due to the actions of the Canismorphs that the Itans owe their success one way or another but those who formerly supported the Huulanders don't count themselves as fighting for a cause against the Huulanders, just simply deciding not to call the Huulanders friends.
Caprinamorph
Found natively in Eastland and Westland the Caprinamorphs are fierce defenders of the underdog. They made the big mistake of aiding the Huulanders' escape when the Albic invaded Parma to stop the Huulanders' ethnic cleaning regime. When the Huulanders continued where they left off in Norland, the Caprinamorphs made the further mistake of defending them politically in hopes that the Huulanders might mature and change their ways. When the Huulanders began to invade Eastland and Westland the Caprinamorphs' attempts to talk the Huulanders down fell on deaf ears and the Huulanders attacked. Unfortunately for the Huulanders the Caprinamorphs were well prepared for such an event and launched a powerful counter offensive force to slow the Huulanders down. Unfortunately for the Caprinamorphs they had failed to convince the Albic empire of the potential threat the Huulanders possessed and the Caprinamorphs' forces were wiped out without a main offensive force to back them up. The Caprinamorphs like most races played their part in the war that followed attempting to aid the Albic to no avail. Following this they headed to Sudland to hold back the Huulanders but when they heard of the Itan uprising in Norland they pretended to ally with the Huulanders to gain access to Norland and aid the Itans in conquering Norland. However the Caprinamorphs soon realized that the Itans were not the saviors they imagined them to be and rushed to help the Huulanders in fighting against them to stop the Itans from reaching Sudland. Now the bulk of their forces occupy a thin strip of Huulander territory in Sudland, the last line of defence Sudland has against the encroaching Itan threat. In Heidra however the Caprinamorphs that make this land their home have been major players in halting the Itan forces and preventing them reaching the Albic in the north. But to the Caprinamorphs here this is their land and they're not fond of being bossed around by their superiors in the north.
Chevir
Sentient goats taken in as slaves by both the Albic and the Itans as a form of protection from the Huulanders and their allies. Though some say it would have been better otherwise. With the Huulanders no longer a threat they've been granted their freedom but they've been slaves for so long many of them don't know what to do from here. Strong and agile they make good laborers especially as many lack the smarts necessary for the higher occupations. Loyal companions and helpful and considerate they're rarely found alone though sometimes their choice of friendships lacks a lot to be desired.
Coal Golem
Also known as Stone Flux they are creatures of vague human form made of coal and small amounts of other materials found in coal such as brimstone, pyrite, crete, tar, crude oil, natural gas and iron varieties. They are almost always brought into existence when pyrite is struck when mining coal causing natural gas in the air to ignite causing an explosion. The flames from the explosion and subsequent inferno of burning coal binds the ether rich coal smoke to the bodies of people killed by the explosion, fire or smoke transforming the individual into a Coal Golem and bringing them back to life. This can often happen because natural gas is emitted by coal as it's dug and pyrite clumps resemble gold nuggets which tempts miners to dig them out. Gold itself is never found in coal deposits so the sight of something golden and metallic when mining coal should stand to worry miners rather than elate them. The Coal Golem transformation process is the only self-initiating process for creating Golem that's known. The individual transformed into Coal Golem can experience issues with their saf binding causing memory loss, personality changes and unstable emotions in the early stages of their transformation since the process happens gradually over time and there's conflict between respawn points attempting to grab the saf to respawn the individual who died and the living coal which is also trying to grab the saf for the transformation process. If the individual dies during the transformation process it's possible that neither will claim the saf and the afflicted will become a wandering spirit therefore interfering with this process is not advised, especially as monsterkin often possess the ability to completely reverse the entire process in the afflicted after it has fully run its course. Family members concerned by the symptoms during the transformation process sometimes don't listen to the advice of waiting it out and attempt to reverse the process mid-flow with disastrous consequences. The Huulanders were known to harvest the Coal Golem for their resources especially their sulfur content which they used to refertilize the soil in their farmland following its resources being drained by non-sustainable farming methods. This process is either extremely uncomfortable for the Coal Golem and prevents them from being able to be turned back into what they were before the transformation or kills them in the process and since few Huulanders waited for the transformation to be complete before harvesting the individual it resulted in many individuals captured in the war and forced to work in the mines becoming wandering spirits. Originally the Coal Golem of Albo were exclusively products of coal mining on the island but due to the large number of individuals on Albo they attracted the attention of Coal Golem from across the ocean and the island has become somewhat of a sanctuary for their kind with most owing their existence to the unethical practices of the Huulanders. Though coal is flammable Coal Golem are not and as well as the high strength stats that are to be expected from golem of solid materials Coal Golem also possess an affinity with fire and can utilize the natural gas and pyrite in their bodies to produce explosions. For that reason Coal Golem are considered one of the most potentially dangerous golem in all of Valhalor.
Doronko
Descended from Huulanders who were sacrificed by being weighed down and sinking into ocean clay the Doronko took the form of the mud they drowned in and became golems. Now they live under the ocean floor, beneath river beds and under the bottoms of lakes frequenting beaches, lakesides and riverbanks. Maintaining their clay bodies is a difficult task with most preferring to live at the bottom of the water. Being isolated from the civilization they once called home they seek companionship with the people of civilization though some are less able to adapt. Their clay bodies make them heavy and strong as well as allow them to sense vibrations through the ground and air. The Lidans are their close allies though often the Doronko disagree with them and refuse to play an active role in their plans to dominate Albo's surrounding ocean area.
Eta
A wide array of caniformia, usually seal-like and marten-like, all of which possess the ability to transform, usually into human form. In a chicken and the egg kind of scenario nobody is sure whether it began as humans transforming into animals or animals transforming into humans but we do know it was a product of the Huulanders' affinity with coyote and their attempts to claim the oceans of Valhalor which ended in disaster after the Huulanders began hunting their own kind whilst the victim was in animal form to take advantage of the resources their bodies possess such as fur and blubber. As a result the Eta are resentful towards the Huulanders as a whole but many Eta still meddle in human affairs and seek to integrate into civilization despite the fact that most Eta are very passionate about living in the wild. Though they are all related to one another most don't see eye to eye even with close family members though many still live together in small family groups and mothers are good at caring for their children. Though there are still caniformia that cannot transform it's impossible to say which derived from civilization and which are entirely descended from wild caniformia as all of Valhalor's caniformia are sentient and capable of learning transformation and human speech.
Felinamorph
Natively found throughout all of Valhalor they were spared from the Huulanders' ethnic cleaning regime when their agility and stealth peaked the Huulanders' interests and instead they became the Huulanders' servants. Though technically kept as slaves the felinamorphs were allowed a lot of freedom due to the fact the Huulanders found them adorable. The Felinamorphs wasted no opportunity to turn this to their advantage however and constantly abused the Huulanders' trust getting away with whatever they wanted and turning on the puppy dog eyes whenever met with resistance. They're sad to see the empire of suckers fall but if there's one thing the Felinamorphs are good at it's being independent and those who find themselves in Heidra see the war as a distraction they can put to best use.
Flux
Also known as Crude Oil Golem they are sometimes brought to life by extracting oil from shale. Unlike Coal Golem the creature's soul appears to come from the oil directly with many remembering past lives of living in the ocean as sea creatures. Possessing highly advanced transformation abilities many prefer human-like forms and as well as the agility that comes with most liquid golem the Flux'es stealth capabilities are unmatched by any other race in all of Valhalor. They are also highly advanced monsterkin capable of breaking down any organism into their raw elements and reconstructing them into other organisms including plants and sentient life. For that reason the Flux are considered one of the most potentially dangerous golem in all of Valhalor. Though crude oil itself isn't flammable the Flux are and as a result most have developed a natural or socially influenced fear of fire and even individuals that have learned how to fireproof themselves still find it difficult to shake the fear. Huulanders often attempted to harvest the Flux for their resources and were often successful against Flux that had only just been brought to life and didn't understand their abilities yet but against those that had time to grow accustomed to their form the Huulanders often perished. Albo has a lot of oil shale mining and as result the growing Flux community attracted the attention of Flux from overseas and so many of Albo's Flux owe their existence to the Huulanders' meddling.
Huulander
Certainly not welcome on either side of the border the Huulanders are the enemy of both the Albic and Itan empires. They are humans who saw their cousins the Albic dominate Valhalor but at the cost of letting anything go. The Huulanders sought to correct that by claiming the Albic territories and using that authority to wipe-out the trouble makers and those who tap the well of the superior creatures' hard earned rewards. Then the Itans came from within the Huulanders' own people looking to undo all their hard work. Now the Huulanders stand on the brink of destruction desperately trying to have some piece of paradise in Sudland whilst the sinful rally all around them. Here on Albo where both varieties of the same wrongful cause meet there are Huulanders who were wise enough not to overlook this place like their superiors had done. The strongest of both reside here. They should know better than to put all these eggs in just one basket. Huulanders are wise, observant and crafty. In this demented world they say their mental might will purify its thoughts. I have my doubts on the purity of some folks thoughts.
Itan
The Itans are the humans who practically own this world. Some people are trying to prolong the inevitable hoping to claw Valhalor back to the ways of the past. Itans call this the age of iron and say those with the strength of spirit, their siblings by their side and maybe someone else's on their arm are the kind to shape this world. All Itans are born more fit than any Albic or Huulander but it's what they choose to do with the gift that matters. A world where hard labour is rewarded with a few pints of ale, a chanting rhyme to dance to and a few swings to send folk to bed. "Trust in your arms whether they be your flesh, your iron or someone else's." The warrior's way they say. Some may take that philosophy how they choose to interpret it. Arms don't always have the right guide to decide what they touch. Let's hope that kind gets their reward.
Lidan
Most Huulanders fled their ancestral home of Parma when the Albic invaded to put an end to the Huulanders' ethnic cleaning regime however not all of them made it to Norland safely. Some became lost at sea and would surely have perished if not for the Doronko's intervention. The Doronko helped them adapt to ocean life granting them superhuman senses and agility. The Lidans that make their home in the oceans surrounding Albo are bitter towards all land dwellers alike, the Albic for forcing them out of their home, the Itans for destroying their people's dream of a perfect world and the Huulanders for abandoning them at sea and not sending a rescue party to find them. This has caused them to form their own philosophy. The oceans belong to the ocean dwellers alone and any ships seeking to invade the north of Albo, its south or Heidra itself have been devastated by Lidan forces thus far. On land however it's a different story as the Lidans' need to return to the water severely hinders their ability to cope on land. The Lidans that choose to make their home on land are sick of their people's ways and hunger for something more than the simplistic life style of their new homeland of Lida but despite how noble this may seem old habits die hard. Let's not forget that they were once Huulanders.
Pantheramorph
Found in a wide array of varieties across Valhalor some with adaptations to their local environment the Huulanders got great pleasure from defeating these mighty huntsmen wherever they went though it was often after receiving heavy casualties in the process. This didn't bode well for the Huulanders' military might but acted as a symbol to protest the Huulanders' combat ability since the Huulanders were the only people capable of defeating them. The Pantheramorphs' stealth skills and sheer might often put the Huulanders on edge, terrified of a surprise attack, but the Pantheramorphs' refusal to work in teams often lead to their undoing. Instead of keeping them as slaves the Huulanders opted for the death sentence deeming them far too dangerous to be held captive and were almost exclusively killed where they were found and as quickly as possible. Now the Huulanders are no longer a threat many Pantheramorphs seek to make a living or a name for themselves. Depending on their plans the conflict in Heidra is either a help or a hindrance to that goal.
Takir
The Takir are sentient goats who's tribes dominate the wild. They used to be quite important before the Albic came along and united Valhalor's leaders by peaking their interest with fancy technology. Must have seemed like magic to those starry-eyed innocent folks. The Takir never forgot about that and when the Huulanders turned up I guess it seemed like a good opportunity to take out the Albic once and for all. The Takir still lay claim to most of Valhalor though only the undeveloped areas far away from civilization. They're not anthros so you can't call their habit of eating anyone and anything that strays too far away from the towns as cannibalism, just primal behaviour. The civilized are above such things. Make no mistake the Takir are powerful monsters that strike fear into the hearts of civilized folk and are always found in large numbers. They're allied with the Viktu, half human traders that live just outside the towns. The more agreeable of the two but not the kind you want to invest your trust in.
Viktu
Huulanders who gave up their humanity to seek sanctuary in the wild protected by the Huulanders' old friends the Takir. Part man part louse they've taken to trading goods to get by making best use of the bounties of the wild. Though more than a few have taken the bounties of civilization as well whether or not they were supposed to. Banished from the towns they need a permit to enter civilization. Not something that easy to get hold of since the office of diplomacy is reluctant to hand them out. Whether that's justifiable or not depends on your point of view but the number of Viktu that have permits is suspiciously high. Every Viktu holds some secrets but they work hard and despite their past motives and current methods at the end of the day they're just trying to get by.
Vulpesmorph
Natively found throughout all of Valhalor they were targeted by the Huulanders who saw them as pests due to their habits of stealing supplies from Huulander settlements. This was because the Huulanders had pushed the Vulpesmorphs out of their homes and due to having large families of children they were unable to make their escape with the other races and instead went into hiding. Highly centred around family and working together they work well in teams and value loyalty though those that don't form part of their group are free to exploit for the sake of their own kind. Though no longer hunted like common vermin their treatment of the other races means they're not quick to be trusted but even within their group there are those that break the mold for better or worse.
Races

The Huulanders were known to harvest the Coal Golem for their resources especially their sulfur content which they used to refertilize the soil in their farmland following its resources being drained by non-sustainable farming methods. Part man part louse they've taken to trading goods to get by making best use of the bounties of the wild. Though more than a few have taken the bounties of civilization as well whether or not they were supposed to. Banished from the towns they need a permit to enter civilization. Common Mistakes About Valhalor's Takir
Posted 7 years ago1, They aren't sentient.
Most of Valhalor's sentient races live within civilization and those who don't are still rather coherent and display a level of tool usage and complexity in what could considered science and the arts to make their level of intelligence stand out when put next to wild animals. Takir by comparison don't show such obvious signs of intelligence and thus people are prone to assuming that Takir are just savage wild beasts. However if you spend long enough around them you'll notice that they use rather advanced hunting techniques for a wild animal and in some cases go to rather extensive efforts to prepare their food. These are signs of an advanced intelligence. It's just simply the fact that they have no need for nor interest in learning skills that serve no practical purpose in their culture and environment. To them civilization is stupidity as the creatures there spend all their time on trivial activities that serve no practical purpose.
2, Being sentient makes them civilized.
Civilization is a very complex thing containing systems of research, entertainment, trade, education, agriculture, religion, manufacture, construction, transport, law, governing, healthcare and military. The fact that our planet's sentient race is almost entirely encapsulated within 1 single form that contains all of these complex concepts together can make us forget that even within our own world there are people of equal intelligence to us that still don't have all these complex concepts of civilization established yet. If tribal humans can be like this then so can tribes on other planets.
3, Being sentient means they can be reasoned with.
To be fair how many groups of people physically distant from or radically different to our own people seem that reasonable to us here on our own planet? It would be easy for us to assume that everyone else is wrong but us but when you think about it that is exactly the same they are doing in return to us. Pack animals such as humans and takin from which Valhalor's takir are inspired by tend to fight other rival groups of the same species. When you think about it logically it makes sense as limited resources call for smaller numbers of the creatures that use them and the only time rival groups encounter each other in the wild is when they're drawn to the same resources because there is no alternative. We can therefore assume that like with humans any rival group will be met with hostility or a simple lack of interest in communication and coordination towards them. Let's not forget that the takir are apex predators that spend all their time away from other cultures. To them every living thing that's not them is potential food even other sentient races. Any other sentient race is going to have an uphill struggle trying to convince the takir not to eat them especially as the takir are quite comfortable with the way things are for them at the moment and have little interest in most of the things we have that we would consider important.
4, Being an undulate means they are herbivores and should be prayed on.
Valhalor's takir race is based on the ancient Chinese takin, what's now erroneously referred to as the Rocky Mountain Goat today. Despite being a prey species this creature today in fact has no natural predators though this is due to human intervention as the construction of roads along the mountainside has created an unnatural sheer drop with a horizontal plateau at the bottom where the mountainside has been carved into to build a road with plenty of height for heavy goods vehicles. Takin have learned to use this to their advantage by luring predators to it and then charging them causing the predator to attempt to distance themselves ready for a fight and step blindly backwards off the edge and fall. Similarly eagles are butted stunning them temporarily and causing them to tumble uncontrollably in the air. The often 40 foot drop surprisingly rarely kills the predator but the injuries they receive are significant enough to permanently hinder their ability to hunt prey and the predator later dies from starvation.
This tactic is pushing the bald eagle and mountain lion to extinction in the United States of America and as a response wild goat hunting has been highly encouraged to combat the problem however the legalization and promotion of hunting in the area has lead people to hunt bears instead and now they are on the brink of extinction as well which has to the overpopulation of salmon which is destroying the ecosystem of America's lakes and rivers causing an overpopulation of mayfly which is affecting the beaver population which in turn has disastrous consequences for the environment including water pollution and mud slides. This is the reason why humans should really think carefully before they start half-hearted attempts to fix the problems that they themselves cause. A much better strategy would be to have a tax funded culling agency responsible for the maintenance of animal populations rather than to legalize hunting and hope that the average American citizen has the goodness in their heart to kill only the specific animals you want them to.
Takir are also Valhalor's equivalent of invisible walls. Valhalor is almost entirely natural landscape and wildlife with very small pockets of urbanization and farmland dotted throughout. Players therefore would likely want to explore the wild especially as you have the ability to use sustainable survival skills that could potentially enable the player to establish settlements in the wild. It's impossible to build all of Valhalor's landscape and nor would anyone want to as it covers a landmass thousands of times the size of the entire surface of the planet Earth. Instead each settlement stands alone bordered by impassable barriers but rather than this barrier being an invisible wall which would make no sense and ruin the immersion Albion uses the novel approach of having huge numbers of difficult enemies that will kill you before you're able to progress too far away from the centre of the map where the settlement resides and off into uncharted or rather incomplete territory that is yet to be programmed by Albion's developers. These enemies are the Takir.
Many people have the erroneous belief that all species that are prayed on by other animals are entirely herbivorous creatures but in fact this couldn't be further from the truth as the cycle of life is less like a triangle of herbivore eats plant, carnivore eats herbivore, carnivore dies and rots away feeding the plants but more of a case that there's a chain of creatures from the plant progressing from the smaller creatures to larger and larger animals before you eventually reach the apex predator. Any creature in this chain can die and feed nature's clean up crew of animals that feast on rotten carcasses which includes both fly larvae and a variety of scavenger and predator carnivores with the ability to eat rotten meat. It's also the poop of all animals involved in the entire system that feeds the plants as well as dead plants themselves and only very rarely the carcasses of the dead animals themselves.
There's such a thing as an omnivore which is a creature that's capable of eating both meat and plants and it's certainly not the case that humans are the only example in nature. First let's start with an easy one we can all agree on. Songbirds eat both berries and insects. You may not have thought about it before but that makes them omnivorous and that actually means they are capable of eating any kind of meat and songbirds can be occasionally spotted eating meat scraps of animals that have been recently killed by predators. Before you run screaming at the sight of a pigeon you have to bare in mind that a tiny songbird is hardly capable of taking down a large animal without injury and certainly wouldn't use it as a regular food source by any means. Their choice of prey has to be something small that poses no threat to them thus why they pray on insects. Great tits sometimes disembowel bats for their meat supply. It's a risky process as bats are well equipped to fight a songbird with their rows of sharp teeth so the songbird only does it if food is scarce and risking being mauled to death is better odds than hunting for insects.
You'd be surprised by which creatures are omnivorous. For example a grizzly bear's diet is mostly plant based and consists primarily of fruits and nuts with only a small part of it consisting of fish as their only source of meat and the grizzly bear itself is even hunted by wolves and mountain lions. This is somewhat at odds with the common belief that it's some sort of apex predator that goes around hunting deer or moose and will pray on human flesh given half a chance. The grizzly bear can certainly fight but other than to protect itself or steal from people in one way or another a grizzly bear poses no threat to human life and fights can be avoided by dropping any food items you're carrying including trash containing waste products from food such as apple cores, orange or banana peels etc. and also any items that have been in contact with food such as packaging or containers that previously contained food and might still smell of food and then of course making sure you quietly and calmly leave the area as female bears might be trying to keep you away from their children and male bears might be trying to keep you away from places with large amounts of food in the area so that they can have it for themselves.
The primate family to which humans belong are entirely omnivorous due to the fact that they evolved from weasels which are carnivores as did canines and felines however primates adapted to life in the trees to escape ground dwelling predators and thus to be able to eat fruits and nuts to minimize the time spent on the ground. Lemurs still retained their digitigrade legs which are more suitable for running on the ground because where they live on the island of Madagascar the unusual trees there have few branches and the powerful back legs of a walking creature allow them to jump farther to reach them. The great apes such as chimpanzee came down from the trees because they are considerably larger in size than most primates and since like all primates they are in large numbers and can coordinate the group to prevent the weaker members from being picked off without a fight from the more capable members any solitary predators looking to pray on them will likely be left running with their tail between their legs or potentially killed in the process. Pack hunting animals such as African lions and wolves would be more successful and that's why great apes aren't found in places where they live. From the great apes humans evolved further to live on land with forward facing hips for running across the ground though this made childbirth much difficult and risky though thanks to our intelligence we learned methods to reduce the mortality rate of our children, mothers and humans in general to counter it.
All goats are also omnivorous as they initially evolved to live in the mountains where food was scarce and males that were thrown to their death when competing for the leadership role of the herd became valuable sources of rare minerals which would normally require the herd to risk heading downhill to where predators dwell to consume plants rich in the minerals they needed. By eating their dead they were able to maintain resources for longer minimizing the time spent in dangerous areas where their lives were at risk, a strategy that humans themselves used to practice and some humans still do today.
The takir of Valhalor being such strong enemies it stands to reason that any animal that lives this far away from town would be on the menu. Takin, the real world animal which the takir are based on despite being herbivorous actually supplement their diet with small snakes, small birds, bird's eggs and the carcasses of animals that die in their area including predatory species and even hikers who die from the weather or falling to their death on the mountain. This is because the mountains of North America have an usually low supply of salt rich food and the takin's body chemistry requires a high salt content to produce a natural antidote for the various poisonous plants that are found in the area they live. This enables them to have a broad diet of plants which is a necessity in the area they live as plants are few are far between and relying on certain non-poisonous plant species to be available would lead to starvation. So for these reasons the takir of Valhalor have developed a taste for snakes much like the takin in our own world prefer to hunt and since Valhalor's takir are such a deadly enemy they have no fear of large predators since the average member of the species is strong enough to take out many of the animals that would prey on their real world inspiration the takin.
5, All takir are as intelligent as Sammu, Soubi, Atki, Hammer, Harold or Britches or at least aren't any more savage than them.
Sorry but these takir are special cases as none of the above are from species that are native to Valhalor. These are extraterrestrial takir from takir civilizations with much more development and technology than the ones living in the wild in Valhalor. This is why they prefer to stand on 2 legs which allows them to use their forelimbs more often so they can use tools and technology and also why they are so short compared to the takir of Valhalor since they don't need to be as strong to survive when they have advanced weaponry to protect themselves and able to cultivate farming to have food supplies on tap. However these 6 individuals are abnormally strong for their kind putting their strength somewhat on par with the takir of Valhalor by coincidence which often leads to confusion by fans. The takir of Valhalor by comparison are much less civilized than these individuals and encounters with them are to be avoided at all costs as they're more likely to eat you than to even hold a conversation with you like these 6 individuals might do.
6, The caprini of Land of Lore are what the takir of Valhalor are like.
Even though the caprini of Land of Lore were inspired by the takir of Valhalor they have been significantly altered to make them closer to the goatmorphs of the furry fandom including mixing the takir with their domestic cousins the chevir. Land of Lore is not a fansite dedicated to Albion. They are a law unto themselves with their own universe and lore to their species and should be treated as a separate goat themed entity entirely.
7, The takir and the chevir are the same.
The 2 species are not even related and originate from 2 different planets. The chevir evolved on Valhalor and the takir are an extraterrestrial race that came to live on Valhalor. The takir evolved from creatures more closely resembling tree kangaroo and had many of the same adaptations. Their physical similarities to goats is the product of the environmental conditions on their home planet following the same course as the conditions the chevir evolved in. This meant that they developed the same traits and adaptations as the chevir by coincidence. This actually happens a lot in nature even on our own planet and it's likely that if we ever did find another planet containing life almost all the creatures that live there would resemble animals that exist on our own planet with frightening similarity due to the fact that the conditions they're exposed to would match our own planet and they would have evolved the same adaptations to survive.
For a start chevir are entirely quadrupedal and have hooves for feet whereas takir have a range of movement closer to primates and grasping paws similar to hands on all 4 of their limbs much like primates do. The hard skin on the back of their paws resembles hooves and serves a similar purpose by protecting their paws from scrapes whilst mountain climbing. Takir used to have much longer tails which aided their ability to climb trees but their tails shortened to aid their ability to escape pursuing predators on land in much the same way goats did. Their digestive systems already shared some similarities due to the fact that they both evolved from grazing animals. A hardened skull and horns are excellent adaptations for fighting in elevated locations as they aid a creature's ability to lift other creatures off the ground loosening their grip to floor and allowing to slide so that they can be pushed off the edges of cliffs. Much of the same body language and audible communication would have evolved since in animals these are mostly based the physical traits and abilities of the animal in question.

Chemistry: Stupid Stuff and Awesome Stuff
Posted 7 years agoWhen I learned chemistry in school it seemed like this awesome thing that made cool explosions and dissolved all kinds of materials into sludgy liquids but now I'm an adult and can do my own research I've found just how boring the topic really is. For example boron only has 2 uses: make metal harder and make carbon harder. Now carbon is truly useful as it's used to make molds for setting liquid metal or glass into solid shapes but there's absolutely no reason for boron to get involved in the process other than saving money by having molds that wear out less often. I also don't think I need to explain the importance of metal as most man made things on the planet contain at least some metal and you'll find that other than tin foil and soda cans which are made of aluminum, electrical wires which are made of copper or any of the random unless metals that are used in jewellery simply because they're rare that metal is almost invariability iron or a mixture of mostly iron with a very tiny amount of something else. You would think therefore that anything that makes metal stronger would be useful except alloys of boron are so damned expensive the only real place they're used is in the engines, gearboxes, axles, brakes or generally any of the fast moving parts of certain select sports cars because those vehicles are already so over priced that the companies that make them spare no expensive on things that will make them perform better. This of course means boron is pretty unless overall. In fact it just seems that every other use for it is just trying to get rid of the damned stuff on the pretense that it will make it stronger maybe. Now don't get me wrong there are some truly amazing things in chemistry like sodium which is used to make cement and drain cleaner and sulphur which is used to make fertilizer, batteries and explosives but for literally 90% of that periodic table you learned about the materials are either almost unless or in fact even worse than unless like in the case of mercury. Mercury is very toxic and it's normally a waste product impurity of trying to get some other material from mined or quarried stones and ores. In fact the only use it seems to have is to show off to chemistry students about how weird it is that it's a metal that is liquid at room temperature. That's the limit of its uses really since any attempt to use it for anything results in toxic gas which is an environmental hazard and you'll have the government and environmental agencies turn up at door threatening to shut your business down. By comparison crete or to give it its scientific name calcium carbonate is the most useful thing ever. In case you don't know what that is we often call it limestone, clay, ceramic, plaster, porcelain, china, marble or earthenware depending on the water content that's mixed in with it. We often wrongly refer to it as calcium when we talk about it in food, it's what makes milk products opaque and it's used by animals a lot to make their hard parts such as bones, shells (for their eggs and the animal itself), scales, teeth, claws, hooves, spines, feathers and horns. It's often used in construction as well to make bricks, mortar and concrete and to make pottery, tiles and ornaments. The most interesting thing about it is that it can only be created by living organisms and not by any cosmic forces. Because it's so easy for life to make, anywhere life exists there's bound to be traces of especially as pretty much takes a star exploding or a black hole to destroy the stuff. By destroy I don't mean it can't be smashed to pieces. I mean no matter how much you break it up, melt or dissolve it or bombard it with heat and radiation there always seems to be some trace of it left behind. So if we find another planet, moon or asteroid out there with crete on it we'll know for certain life either is there or was there at some point. In fact NASA is already debating whether certain rocks they saw on the moon and mars might have shown evidence of potentially containing crete and white substances observed on mercury's surface, distant asteroids, jupiter's moons, the rings of saturn and uranus and in pluto's and charion's shared orbit around the sun may be traces of crete meaning that not only are we not alone in the universe but there could be multiple places inhabiting alien life within our very own solar system though since earth is the most bountiful planet for life's resources they are not likely to contain sentient life as quickly as it developed on earth and are probably going to contain life similar to our insects, invertebrates, ocean life or dinosaurs.
Resources of Valhalor
Posted 7 years agoBeans
Beans can be harvested from vines and can be consumed to increase your Nutrition level. If your Nutrition level gets too low you will die from starvation. Luckily this takes a very long time to happen and Beans are plentiful around areas of civilization as long as you can afford to buy them. When Beans are harvested they will be in the form of Fresh Beans which can be eaten or planted in Fertile Soil to grow more bean vines. Eventually Fresh Beans become Mouldy Beans which are inedible and wont grow into future vines however Mouldy Beans are useful for fertilizing soil. Fertile Soil can be used to grow all manners of plants. Fresh Beans can be dehydrated into Dried Beans by baking them in an oven or above or next to a fire. These Beans wont grow into future vines but they will remain edible indefinitely as long as they are kept dry. If Dried Beans get wet they become Mouldy Beans and become inedible. Mouldy Beans cannot be dehydrated to make Dried Beans.
Chitin
Chitin comes from arthropods such as crustaceans, insects and arachnids. The best Chitin comes from the Giant Ocean Crab which can be found in the Lidan Archipelago which is out to sea some distance north of Saltwater City's Great River Delta in Grenwuld. Chitin can be used to craft pieces of armor. Small creatures will produce Chitin Scales which can be made into Chitin Scale Armor, whereas large creatures will produce Chitin Plate which can be made into Chitin Plate Armor and creatures of minuscule size will not produce any Chitin at all. Chitin Scale Armor is more flexible than Chitin Plate Armor and allows for more freedom-of-movement, whereas Chitin Plate Armor is more rigid than Chitin Scale Armor and provides more protection.
Crete
Crete is a crafting material used to make solid parts such as with tools, weaponry and armor. It comes from a wide variety of sources including from incinerating soil, from digging claggy mud, from harvesting animal bones, horns and teeth, from harvesting coral, from harvesting mollusc shells, from quarying or mining stone, from collecting stones, from sieving coal ash, from collecting stalactites, from grinding eggshells and from evaporating milk. Crete has 3 states, Crete Powder, Crete Mud and Hard Crete. Crete Powder can be made into Crete Mud by adding freshwater, Crete Mud can be made into Hard Crete by baking it in an oven or above or next to a fire and Hard Crete can be made into Crete Powder by pulverizing it with a hammer. Unlike other hard materials Hard Crete cannot be carved into shape and instead Crete Mud should be poured into a mold and baked into the right shape.
Crystal
Dye
Dye comes from grass and octopi and it's used to change the colour of substances and materials. Each of the 11 elements in Albion has an associated colour. Dye can be used to disguise the true element of something for example disguising toxin which is typically black in colour as milk which is typically white.
Eggs
Eggs come from female or hermaphrodite animals other than mammals, sharks and snakes. Fish and foul can lay Eggs without being fertile and reptile and bird Eggs produce eggshells which can be used to make Crete Powder but obscure the state of the egg. When Eggs are newly laid they will be in the form of Fresh Eggs and be edible. If the egg is kept warm either a baby animal will develop inside if the egg is fertile, this is called a Developing Egg and it's only edible to carnivorous creatures, or the egg will become rotten if it's not fertile becoming a Rotten Egg which is inedible to all. Keeping a Fresh Egg cool will extend its edible state but make the egg infertile preventing it from becoming a Developing Egg and hatching into a baby animal. Even if a Fresh Egg is kept cool it will eventually become a Rotten Egg and become inedible however it will take longer to do so. Developing Eggs that are not kept warm will become Failed Eggs and will not hatch into a baby animal but will still be edible to carnivorous creatures alone. Failed Eggs if not kept cool will become Rotten Failed Eggs and be inedible to all. Even if a Failed Egg is kept cool it will eventually become a Rotten Failed Egg and become inedible however it will take longer to do so. Rotten Eggs and Rotten Failed Eggs are useful for fertilizing soil. Fertile soil can be used to grow all manners of plants. Edible eggs can be consumed to increase your Nutrition and Hydration levels. If your Nutrition level gets too low you will die from starvation and if your Hydration level gets too low you will die from thirst. Luckily starvation takes a very long time to happen, freshwater can be easily sourced to quench your thirst and Eggs are plentiful around areas of civilization as long as you can afford to buy them.
Ether
Ether comes from Soul Syphons which are animals that glow including types mushrooms and coral though these are not often referred to as animals. It's easier to find these animals at night or in permanently dark places such as caves or at the bottom of the ocean. Ether is the essence of the soul and it's used to power magic. When a person or animal dies they release a small amount of Ether into the immediate surrounding area which Soul Syphons feed on therefore even though the sight of many glowing things in one spot seems like a great find it also indicates that said area is dangerous as lots of things must have died in this specific area and whatever killed them is probably still nearby.
Fabric
Fat
Fat comes from nuts and certain animals including pigs, whales and seals and it's used to create Oil and Soap via separation. Oil is used for Fire element gear and magic and Soap is used to nullify Fire element.

Glue
Glue is a material used in crafting to fix pieces of solid material together. It comes from either tree sap or scales, the latter of which can be acquired by collecting a shedskin which are shed annually by snakes or by descaling Scaleskin Hide which is acquired by skinning a fish or reptile. Once a Scaleskin Hide is descaled it becomes Leather. Items don't necessarily need glue to hold them together. A skilled craftsman can use nails, screws and brackets to hold an item together without the need for glue but in the case of less skilled craftsmen omitting glue is likely to result in the item breaking apart before too long even if the correct design is used in the process.

Hide
Hide can come from any animal other than arthropods. It's used as a crafting item to make Leather, Fluffskin or Scaleskin clothing. Fluffskin clothing is made from the Hide of mammals and birds, whereas Scaleskin is made from the Hide of reptiles and fish. As well as being fashionable, Fluffskin and Scaleskin serve a practical purpose. Fluffskin provides protection from the cold which is useful in Tundra, Glacora and the mountainous regions of Eastland. Scaleskin by comparison provides protection from the heat which is useful in Vulca, Sahora and the desert regions of Westland. Fluffskin and Scaleskin can be made into Leather by scraping them. Scraping Fluffskin also produces Wool which is used to make fabric, thread, string and rope. Scraping Scaleskin produces Scales which can be used to make Glue which is used to stick items together when crafting. The Fluffskin with the most protection from the cold comes from the Tundran Bear and the Scaleskin with the most protection from the heat comes from the Vulcan Dragon. Both these creatures are very dangerous but in a fight against Liquid Air or Liquid Rock Golems you'll be glad of the elemental protection. The Leather with the most general protection comes from the Monstera Hippo. It's the best flexible armor that can be harvested however acquiring it in the first place is no easy task as the source animal is known as the most dangerous wild animal in all of Valhalor. Whatever animal you choose to kill must first be skinned and then the Hide must be tanned to preserve it otherwise in time it will become a Putrid Hide and no longer be useful as a crafting item. However this type of Hide is useful for fertilizing Soil. Fertile Soil can be used to grow all manners of plants.
Horn
Horn comes from deer but can also be sometimes found around places where deer live as deer shed their horns annually. It's used to craft small trinkets such as charms and jewellery as well as make basic tools such as Primative Knives and Arrows. Huntsmen use Horn tools to hunt, carve and skin wild animals as well as work with Fabrics and Hide as Horn tools are inexpensive and easy to replace when they wear out.

Meat
Meat can come from any animal though pigs are much more bountiful than other creatures. It's consumed to increase your Nutrition level. If your Nutrition level gets too low you will die from starvation. Luckily this takes a very long time to happen and Meat is plentiful around areas of civilization as long as you can afford to buy it. When Meat is harvested from a recently slain animal it will be in the form of Fresh Meat. This type of Meat can be consumed immediately but given time it will later become Old Meat. This type of Meat must be cooked before being eaten or your character will become ill. Old Meat can be cooked on a campfire which you can build anywhere in the wild as long as you can collect sticks to burn. Alternatively Old Meat can be cooked in an oven or above a cooking fire in a house or kitchen but unless you own the house or kitchen you are trying to use you may be stopped by the person who owns it. Unless preserved with Saltwater, Old Meat will eventually become Rotten Meat. This type of Meat is inedible even if cooked and is worthless as a food item however it's useful for fertilizing Soil. Fertile Soil can be used to grow all manners of plants.
Metal
Milk
Milk is a drink acquired by milking female mammals that have recently given birth. It's consumed to increase your Nutrition and Hydration levels. If your Nutrition level gets too low you will die from starvation. If your Hydration level gets too low you will die from thirst. Luckily starvation takes a very long time to happen, freshwater can be easily sourced to quench your thirst and Milk is plentiful around areas of civilization as long as you can afford to buy it. When Milk is harvested it will be in the form of Fresh Milk but unless it's kept cold it will soon become Spoiled Milk and become inedible however Spoiled Milk is useful for fertilizing Soil. Fertile Soil can be used to grow all manners of plants.

Toxin
Toxins come from venomous and poisonous wildlife including jellyfish, scorpions, tree frogs, sea anemone, nightshade, cone snails, sea slugs, puffer fish, toadstools, cobras and rattlesnakes and they're used to kill either by being consumed or by penetrating a wound. Unlike normal attacks, Toxins deteriorate a victim's health gradually over time at a slow pace and also last for much longer than the initial attack. Toxin effects can be halted mid-course by using an Antidote which comes from creatures which are poisonous except for clown fish and weasels which have no poison but are immune to it's effects.
Wood
Wool
Wool is a crafting material used to make thread, fabric, string and rope and it can come from numerous sources including flaxseed, spiders, silkworms, silkmoths, chevir milk, by using an ester catalyst on oil, by scraping Fluffskin and from grooming mammals and birds from cold regions of Eastland when they molt in the summer. Many people prefer Fabric to Hide as the methods of collecting it doesn't necessarily involve killing another animal. Fabric can provide ample protection from the elements but its protection against physical blows is next to none. On the plus side however it can be combined with armor to meet a middle ground between the two though Hide will still be better in this case. Thread is used to make clothing out of fabric and tanned Hides. String is used to make bows and nets though wire and fine chains can also be used. Rope is used to make flailing weaponry and binds though thick chains and cables can also be used.

Albion's stat system
Posted 7 years agoYeah, since I can't upload any files right now, I'm limited to text-based posts that will arrive in the form of journals. That means that many long and wordy J's are going to appear in your messages. Feel free to delete the notifications and read them at your leasure at a later date.
The new stat system for Albion is both more complicated and less complicated than the previous 6 stat system depending on how you look at it, it's really just a different way of doing things that you have to get your head around. It contains the first 4 stats, Agility, Strength, Stealth and Awareness, but the former Social and Ingenuity stats are divided up between the Stealth and Awareness stats now which will make more sense when you see it laid-out in-front of you.
There are 14 stats divided into 4 categories with 2 of the stats branching between 2 categories each.
Agility
The Agility category contains the following stats...
Ferocity
This stat governs the rate of active skills you can perform such as attacks. The higher the value, the more actions you can perform in a given time period, therefore increasing your effectiveness per second. It's worth noting that items that are light-weight, short and small in size allow your character to move more freely therefore increasing their Ferocity stat. Ferocity doesn't affect the action rate of placements or drones, which is the main action type for the Planting and Remote character classes but it will increase the rate of which they are deployed and directed.
Mobility
This stat governs your ability to traverse an area. The higher the value, the quicker and easier your character can run, dig, swim, fly, slide, swing, climb, jump or just generally move from one location to another, therefore cutting-down on the time it takes to get from place to place, allowing you to reach places you couldn't before and allowing you to take alternative routes to reach them as well as passively increasing your chances of evading an attack and opening up new forms of actions such as diving attacks and wall-based escapes. It's worth noting that clothing with lots of freedom-of-movement such as fabrics will allow you to move around easier and therefore increase your Mobility stat. Mobility doesn't affect the Mobility stat of drones once they are deployed, they have their own stat for that.
Dodging
This stat governs your ability to actively avoid harm by performing an evasive maneuver. The higher the value, the more successful your dodges will be at preventing your character being hit by attacks. It's worth noting that dodging works well on slowing the pace of combo chains using move-and-stop style attacks such as with Boxing, whereas it doesn't have this effect on combo chains using follow-through style attacks such as with Flailing Mace. Dodging doesn't affect the Dodging stat of drones once they are deployed, they have their own stat for that.
Strength
The Strength category contains the following stats...
Effort
This stat governs the force of active skills you can perform such as attacks. The higher the value, the more powerful the action, therefore increasing your effectiveness per second. It's worth noting that items that are heavy-weight, long and large in size will be much more successful if wielded by characters with a higher Effort stat. Depending on the tool used this can also passively increase the range of your actions as well. Effort doesn't affect the action strength of placements or drones, which is the main action type for the Planting and Remote character classes, however Encumbrance is beneficial in this respect.
Encumbrance
This stat governs how easily your character can move around relative to the weight they are carrying. The higher the value, the quicker and easier your character can move around while carrying a large amount of weight, therefore increasing the amount of items they can carry at any given time, increasing the weight of the items they can carry and the maximum amount of the total weight of all the items combined in general. It's worth noting that this allows you to wear heavier clothing as well such as armor, therefore passively increasing your endurance and reducing the damage you receive from attacks. Encumbrance increases the total weight of placements and drones that can be carried allowing you to deploy more of them at a time and deploy heavier devices which will have higher Strength-based stats.
Blocking
This stat governs your ability to actively reduce the damage you receive by halting an attack with your arms. The higher the value, the more successful your blocks will be at stopping attacks from injuring your head, torso and sometimes legs. It's worth noting that blocking works well on slowing the pace of combo chains using follow-through style attacks such as Flailing Mace, whereas it doesn't have this effect on combo chains using move-and-stop style attacks such as Boxing. Blocking doesn't affect the Blocking stat of drones once they are deployed, they have their own stat for that.
Dexterity
This stat is shared between the Agility and Strength categories. As well as slightly improving your Ferocity, Effort, Dodging and Blocking stats, it also increases your ability at deflection and escapes. Deflection is an active defence alternative to Dodging and Blocking that unsteadies an opponent when they attempt to hit you with a melee attack or allows you to redirect a projectile away from yourself. Escapes are used to get out of binds or holds as well as simple traps. In the case of both deflection and escapes it's possible to perform a reversal. This is when you can turn an attack against yourself into an attack of your own, potentially with the same effectiveness as the initial enemy attack without even needing the same stats as your attacker.
Stealth
The Stealth category contains the following stats...
Hiding
This stat governs your ability to conceal yourself. The higher the stat, the less chance you have of being seen, the less chance attacks against you have of hitting their mark and the less chance attacks against you have of hitting a weakpoint and being a critical attack dealing additional damage. This allows you to maneuver around enemies while avoiding conflict and prepare actions without being attacked in the process. Hiding doesn't affect the Hiding stat of placements and drones, which is the main action type for Planting and Remote character classes, however Action Stealth is beneficial in this respect.
Action Stealth
This stat governs your ability to conceal your actions. The higher the stat, the less chance your actions have of being seen, the less chance targets have of reacting to your actions and the less chance targets have of detecting the effect of your actions. This allows you to gradually affect things without people knowing what you're doing and ruin enemy strategies by affecting something they were relying on. Since deploying placements and drones is an action in itself, Action Stealth can grant additional Stealth-based stats to your devices. Action Stealth also improves your slight-of-hand allowing you to touch and interact with objects and people without being detected. A very useful skill for rogues of all kinds.
Social Deception
This stat governs your ability to conceal your thoughts and intentions. The higher the stat, the less chance people have of discovering your plans for them, the less chance you have of arousing suspicion and the more convincing your lies will be. This allows you to get things you might want from people without them realizing what you're doing, escape dangerous situations without being hassled and manipulate people's thoughts and opinions to your benefit.
Awareness
The Awareness category contains the following stats...
Routing
This stat governs your ability to see targets clearly. The higher the stat, the more chance you have of seeing enemies, the more chance your attacks have of hitting their mark and the more chance your attacks have of hitting a weakpoint and being a critical attack dealing additional damage. This allows you to hit evasive enemies and discover enemies that are affecting the battlefield from behind cover. Routing doesn't affect your ability to detect placements and drones, which is the main action type for Planting and Remote character classes, however Action Awareness is beneficial in this respect. Routing also improves your technical skills allowing you to understand all kinds of complex technology and complicated concepts such as codes, science and the arts.
Action Awareness
This stat governs your ability to see enemy actions clearly. The higher the stat, the more chance enemy actions have of being seen, the more chance you have of detecting a person's reaction to being hit by an action and the more chance you have of detecting the effect of an enemy's action on a person. This allows you to detect an enemy's attempts to build-up a strategy mid-flow and detect an enemy's attempts to sabotage one of your own side's strategies. Since deploying placements and drones is an action in itself, Action Awareness makes devices and their actions easier to detect.
Social Perception
This stat governs your ability to discover the thoughts and intentions of others. The higher the stat, the more you can discover what people's thoughts are, the more chance you have of discovering the people responsible for a certain event and the better you are at getting the truth out of someone. This allows you to discover information about someone or something, discover the course of events that lead to the current situation and use the information you have to manipulate people's thoughts and opinions to your benefit.
Precision
This stat is shared between the Stealth and Awareness categories. As well as improving your Hiding, Routing, Social Deception and Social Perception, it also increases your ability at crafting and trading. Crafting is a method of constructing, destructing or transforming items and even people using tools and resources. Trading is a method of exchanging items, resources and even people for other similar things or currency. In both cases gear and manpower can be tailored to suit your needs as well as disrupting the enemy's setup for your own side's gain. They also pay-off outside of the battlefield as a means to acquire higher grade or rare equipment without having to find it, loot it or be given it by other characters.

***!!!***IMPORTANT UPDATE***!!!***
Posted 7 years agoMy PC finally died for good. Luckily I'm getting a new PC for Christmas but unfortunately means I can't work on any of the projects I was doing until after I get the new PC. Pretty much all I can access right now is my Fur Affinity account since I'm using my PlayStation browser and all the services I need don't support it and I can't edit files or access my backup files via the console.
So...
Guess I gotta spend this time having fun until then. You know, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.
I was gonna make a whole turn-based Albion legit. I had everything ready for it.
In the meantime I guess I can fill you in on the details but you won't get anything in the way of visuals until Boxing Day at the very soonest. It will most likely be next year before you'll see any significant progress.

And Now Breathe
Posted 7 years agothis week has been really stressful for me.
A lot has happened and I'm just glad that the worst is over as far as i can tell and i can just breathe.
I don't really want to go over everything but long story short it's been building for a while and
NomyNoms has been a little overboard.
So right now I just want to relax and enjoy pointless and mindless nonsense to clear my head and get me ready for whatever drama turns up next.
If you have any suggestions for goat related stuff that would be nice. I've probably seen most of it anyway but i get the occasional surprise.

And then I was just like "oh". Nothing more. Just "oh"
Posted 7 years agoI'm not naming names because i don't want any vigilantes trying to fight my battles for me. They tend to screw everything up. Also for that reason I'm gonna be a little vague on the details because if I'm any more specific you'll probably be able to identify the person involved. Please don't feel like you're helping if you step in. You're not. You're really not. Normal people tend to step their foot in it. I'm much better at handling situations like these. Leave it to me. I'm experienced.
So, on my travels around FA i've been commenting on pictures i like and, once or twice when searching a certain interest of mine, I'll find something I'm impressed by or mildly interested in but it's not quite my thing so, rather than saying "i like it" or words to that effect, i'll say something like a comment on the context of the image like "oh that's a weird thing to draw. i'm intrigued." or i might have something to say but it's more indirect like "oh yes, that's good for the skin". you know, something somewhat comical or informative that starts a conversation without having to directly focus on the subject matter at hand, because it might be about something i know little about or just something that doesn't in particular interest me.
This is kind of how this lead to a recent event. In my opinion i think i've been misread but either way i think the person involved had quite an extreme reaction to the situation. and you'll see what i mean.
First of all a few days ago I came across an artist that draws a lot of the certain genre i like but their art also involves a lot of something that's fairly alien to me so i don't make a habit of following them around. It just so happened i came across a picture by them where someone was attempting to make the second character in the scene gain weight with the accidental result of acquiring extra people instead as the punchline.
Weight gain's really not my thing but the rest of the image was in context of a genre i like so i said something along the lines of "well i guess you could say they did gain a little weight, right?", which i felt was playing along with the joke and an ample comment to make given the circumstances. The response i got was something like "yes, but they didn't". I thought to myself "that's a little stern. i was just playing along with the joke they themselves made. seems a little out of place that response.". but i shrugged it off and thought "maybe they're in a bad mood or something. i'm not going to get into that.".
Fast forward a few days to today and again by chance i came across a picture by the same artist as before. Now this was a while after my other comment and i'd looked at many pieces of art in between and since i'd shrugged off the events from before i didn't even recognize the fact that i'd come across the same artist again. In fact i only knew about the previous comment i'd said because following what was about to happen i thought of looking up if i'd had any previous encounters with this person and maybe said something i shouldn't just in case i'd accidentally poured fuel on the fire.
So again the picture was of the genre i like but this time it was about something else i'm not interested in, this time it was a set of emoticons pretty much tailored to that thing i had no interest in. i made a comment saying "it's a pity you can't use these in normal conversation." to which they responded "if you can't say anything nice then you shouldn't say anything at all." and completely blocked me there and then from posting comments on any of their artwork ever again.
Now you can see how what i said there might be read 2 ways. What i meant was that i liked the pictures but unfortunately i cannot use them. What they interpreted it as was "i don't like this kind of content. you should draw something else that other people would like better". If i was given the chance i would have explained myself but now i can't do anything about it and anyone who reads the post is going to get their interpretation of what i said from reading the comment, especially as i didn't respond to clarify what i meant because now i'm obviously unable to.
So I'm not mad or upset about it. i don't blame them in any way. I just kinda wish i'd been given the chance to defend myself. It's not a particularly wow worthy event but it's something i just wanted to mention for 2 reasons. 1, to get it off my chest and 2, as some sort of record in case this becomes anything and i need to explain what happened.
sympathies appreciated. thanks.

I Love Amateur Works
Posted 8 years agoJust saw a person dissing furries as trolls. Mic quality was really poor, not just because of a cheap audio set up but because the guy was breathing into the mic. Had comments turned off. Seems pretty cowardly to me to set some fires and then run away. Arson is the man's poison. A way of killing without having to take part in direct conflict because the individual is too pathetic to fight. Since comments are a battle of wits I assume this person must be really dumb. Since a loss was guaranteed against other commenters their only choice was to stop commenters from talking to them entirely. However since nobody is going to talk to them i can only assume they are arrogant enough to believe they were causing some sort of offense to someone and that people would want to talk to them and since they couldn't that the poster somehow won. But then again tying yourself up in an abandoned warehouse in the middle of the desert is hardly going to spite anyone. Nobody cares. We'll just get along with our lives blissfully unaware of your existence whilst you toil over the idea of how awesome you are all alone in your dead-end nowhere, trying to make a show to nobody and make a point when nobody even cares to pay attention to your distant maniacal laughter over the bustling sounds of a happy and functioning citadel.
I love amateurs. They have so much to learn about the world. They're like a newborn baby. They're so fragile and needy but you find them so cute and adorable at how little they know and all their little mistakes. I just wanna pinch their chubby little cherub cheeks and play got your nose and peekaboo. That's the level of gameplay they understand you see. I'd like to spoon feed them this journal whilst saying "here's the airplane.". Sending rainbows because kids like pastel colors. Daw.
