Note: I don't really think I'll reach 100 slots, so I'll probably just be open for these forever. If you stumble upon this journal weeks from now and still want a slot, don't be afraid to say something. Always taking more as long as it says [OPEN] up there.

Biggest Little Fur Con 2014: Ramblings on Another Con First
General | Posted 11 years agoHere we go again! If you missed my previous journal and tweets, I was indeed at BLFC this past weekend. So, here's another giant recap for you all. X3
Thursday
Left reeeeeaaaally early in the morning with Blue Dog,
, and 
as part of a caravan up to Reno. We picked up 
along the way as well. Too many bags! One of the most cramped car rides I've ever been in, oh my god. Complete with bickering among passengers. X3 I thought I was going to go insane. We went through the mountains and passed a couple ghost towns, even accidentally drove into one thinking it was a rest stop. It was creepily quiet and stuff. XP Saw a guy in a mask walking around while we were leaving though! Glad nobody was murdered! Anywaaaay, about 12 hours later, we finally made it to the convention. It was windy, but awesome! And so big! I mean, the Grand Sierra Resort looked pretty big, since we could see it once we entered Reno, but it was biiiiig. Pretty much everything you needed was inside the resort, and if you really needed something else, there was a Wal-Mart across the street. XP It was awesome. So, we checked in, I met up with 
and Mahtsi, then moved my stuff into the room! Then it was lazy time for just a little bit, since reg had just opened up. But I was huuuungry, so Aki and I headed to Johnny Rocket's. Inside the resort. I totally wasn't expecting that. XP Had food, then met up with 
, who told us that reg was super empty, so we decided to just reg now and get it over with. There was like nobody there, so it was really fast. XP After that we explored the con space a little bit, got some free shutter glasses to be all cool, and walked around the resort. We were planning on fursuiting for the rest of the night, but Aki wanted to get his new head first, which was being worked on by 
. We went and checked on that a couple times, had a few drinks with 
, got me all happy, then got Aki's head. Then we fiiiinally went out and fursuited. X3 I was gonna meet up with 
since he was bowling with some friends. Unfortunately I got there pretty much right when they finished. X3 I followed them back up to there room though, to see if anything else was gonna happen that night. Got to meet 
and 
. There were so many fursuits in the room! XP It was totally awesome meeting them though. We were trying to see what 
was up to, since he messaged us earlier, but he was taking FOREVER to respond. He finally responded after people in the room were starting to get ready for sleep, but I figured I was awake enough to see what was going on. So, I headed up to his room, and there was still a bunch of people in there! Drunk people. XD All pretty excited to see a fursuiter come into the room. I got to meet a lot of people in the room, like 
and 
mailbox, and it was definitely awesome. X3 I got all the hugs and cuddles in the world in that single room, oh my god. XP But it was getting really late, and it was only the first night, so it was time to turn in. Thankfully there were still people awake in my room when I got back, because I like to brush my stuff after using it and I didn't want to be doing it in the dark or something. However, both beds were taken, so I just crashed on the floor. No big deal, the hotel rooms were pretty freaking big and there were plenty of extra blankets.
Friday
Woke up later than I wanted to because the curtains made it look like perpetual night in the room. XP Oh well, wasn't too late. Had "breakfast" at Round Table Pizza, also in the resort, and checked up on Yonoa again, since he was supposed to have Aki's footpaws ready. No such luck, but we were gonna fursuit again anyway! Then I found out
elephantine had made it to the convention! Sooo I went down and greeted him in fursuit! We finally got to meet in person after all those silly skype calls. X3 I also got to meet 
gazpacho and 
kumagoroshi, which was such a pleasure! We hung out for a bit, then Ollie wanted to get in fursuit, so we headed back up to his room. Did that, then headed back down for more shenanigans! Met up with Aki and we went and got our fursuit headbands, which were basically the fursuit tags for the convention. X3 Then we checked out the gamer's lounge, which actually had a really nice selection of games to play. Ollie and I alternated playing Star Fox 64 in fursuit. I did absolutely terrible. XD Eventually we just stopped and walked around a bit more, then we de-suited, but not before I was dragged away by some potentially tipsy otters, Raishiin and 
redclawtheotter, who wanted to record themselves "swordfighting" in fursuit with bad dragon toys. XP Before dinner we hung around the game room some more and saw that they had Typing of the Dead set up. XD I found out that night that I apparently really suck at that game. It's interesting, because I feel like I can type at a moderate pace without looking at the keyboard, but I guess it's way different from thinking about what you're going to type as opposed to seeing it on a screen, not to mention the phrases were totally random. X3 It was fun though. It was at dinner that I found out that the otter party Oven was planning had been moved to tonight at 10pm, so I was going to head over there after dinner. The others decided to tag along too! But not before hanging out a bit. X3 I found two of those LED "fountain" lights that were on the tables and stuff, and spun them on my chest like boob tassels. Ollie just about lost his shit, and we had to take a video to send to Turk. X3 The party was held in a suite, but it was still crazy crowded! The amount of booze was crazy as well, but apparently there was even more. Ollie and I volunteered to help bring stuff back up, since we had just got there anyway. Then it was booze time! Ollie made me some sweet, cranberry mixed drink of goodness, then after that 
artide made this awesome green, layered drink that looked like an emerald. The only downside was all the vodka he put in was at the top, so it took me a while to drink it. XD There was a constant otter fursuit pile on the couch, which made me kinda regret not bringing mine, but I wanted booooze. Oh, 
stoicwolf was there too, so I was sure to poke him and make things as uncomfortable as possible! 
fuzzypaws was there too! It was great getting to see him again. Also soooo many otters, it was a nice party. Only thing was people next door or whatever were complaining about us being too loud, sooo eventually that kinda made the party dissolve. I followed Artide and Stoic back to their room and drank a little more. Since it was late, Artide offered his room for me to stay in, buuut I didn't have my contact stuff with me! Artide passed out, so I stuck with my room and just used the "extra" time to brush my stuff again. More floor sleepy time yay!
Saturday
Woke up earlier this time, but still apparently later than most people. XD Pretty much everyone I tried to get into contact with had already eaten, so I just popped into the Starbucks and grabbed a muffin to keep me going until someone wanted to have lunch or something. Finished that up, and headed back to the con space in order to attend the poi spinning panel they were having. It was a beginner's basic thing, but it was still totally cool to attend. It helped solidify what I already knew, and I was even shown some stuff that I wasn't too sure about, but was always curious about. Now I have more stuff to practice! Oh yeah, and apparently my fingers are super sensitive, since practicing poi for that hour gave me blisters. XP Oops. Worth it though. There was still some time before lunch, so I wandered around the dealer's den. There were so many eye-catching artists there! Plenty that I hadn't seen before, to the point where I had no idea who to get something from. I settled on two artists, even though I probably should have just done one XP, a badge from
meirro and another from 
thayrustback. Then it was time for a quick lunch because we were running out of time before the fursuit parade! Went to the Port of Subs or whatever. X3 It was a tasty sandwich! Was able to chat with 
scrimno and 
pandra a little bit while I was there. Then it was fursuit photo and parade time! We all piled into a giant room for the photo. This room was absolutely massive. All the otters did their best to gather together once again, and we created the otter train for the fursuit parade. I'm sure people loved it. X3 After the parade the otter fursuiters headed to the otter panel for a little photoshoot! 12 otters made it into the photo, and I'm pretty sure there were one or two more that couldn't make it, there usually is. After that, I decided to get some photos done by the professional people at the con because why not? Oh yeah, back up a bit. Did I mention that this was designated the day I would do a fursuit marathon? Yeah, and I meant it too. All the otters dispersed after that, so I just meandered a bit, seeing if I could find anybody to pester. I played with the rubix cube blocks a bit, tossed an innertube around with some other fursuiters, and tried to balance a yarn ball on my face to pass the time. XD Then I headed into the gamer's lounge and found Ollie playing Beatmania. I pitifully attempted to play with him in fursuit, oh my gosh it was so difficult. XD I'm sure it was hilarious to watch though. lockford pulled me over to the Bubble Bobble station and we played that for a bit. I had never played a game with a joystick like that before, it was interesting. After that was the dance competition, which I wanted to actually watch for once. It was great seeing all the dancers perform, makes me wish I could do something like that. X3 After walking around a bit, I came back to the lounge to find that the Super Smash Brothers Brawl station only had four people playing on it, so I watched a bit and waited to see if a seat would free up. Eventually one did, and I was invited to play while in fursuit. XD Haha, I'll admit it took me a bit to warm up and figure out where the buttons were, since I couldn't really feel them, but after a while I started winning again. XP You can't get mad at an adorable fursuiter though! Haha, nah, they were totally awesome sports about it, especially slyknuxdragon! That was incredibly fun, and something that I had been wanting to do for a while. XD After that the dance started to pick up! So I switched over to that part of the con space and started dancing, and by "dancing" I pretty much mean flailing to the beat. But hey, it's loads of fun, especially in fursuit. Once I got a little tired, I pulled out my poi and switched to spinning that for as long as my hand could handle, heh. I think a few people dug it, and there are a few photos too. After I got bit burnt out, I found out that our room was... "occupied" so my marathon still wasn't over! I walked around some more to kill time, then meandered back into the gamer's lounge and bumped into e-w01lf. He became my distraction until lexifoxxx came by and started talking about a bunch of stuff and stories, it was actually really entertaining. X3 That killed a tremendous amount of time. XD Eventually the group split and I figured it would be alright to head back up to the room to finally take my fursuit off, heh. Just about 12 hours of fursuiting. XP With frequent breaks in the headless lounge, but I never took the entire thing off until I got back to my room. It was totally awesome. Though I can't deny that I was a bit hungry. Whoops. XP Anyway, it was still kinda "early" for Saturday night, so I kinda wandered off on my own to see if I could bump into anyone or find out if anyone was up to anything. Most people were on the party floor, but I'm coming to realize that I don't really like the "big" party scene, atleast not without someone who doesn't mind me sticking to them like glue, because that's what's going to happen with a bunch of people I don't really know around. XP I prefer smaller get-togethers with people that I already know or a few people that I can get to know. Both options have booze, but one is for more comfortable than the other! I don't know. X3 Anyway, I headed back to the dance, where the bass was craaaazy high. I don't think I've ever been to a dance where the bass rattled me that much before. It was awesome though. I was too tired to dance, so I just kinda sat around and let the music drown everything out, still kind of hoping that something would come up at the last second, heh. No such luck, and apparently I was even more tired than I thought, because even though it felt like my bones were being shaken by the music, I was still starting to doze off. XP It was cool to see Koda DJ for a bit though, I didn't know he did that. X3 Headed back up to the room after that and actually got to claim a bed, haha.
Sunday
Got up early-ish, thankfully because Oven and aetius were having breakfast at Johnny Rocket's! I got down there just in time, and funnily enough, Ollie showed up there too! He was gonna be heading out though, so I'm glad I got to say goodbye. After breakfast it was time for the fursuit games! I was excited. X3 The first game was like a ring toss but with floppy discs into baskets. My toss bounced off the rim of the three-pointer, but our team still won anyway. XP After that was a coin grabbing game which was way too hectic for me. XD I can't really run, and I'd rather not be colliding into a lot of other fursuiters. X3 Our team won that round too. Then we played a weird version of hungry, hungry hippos, I guess. XP The setup was pretty awkward, and the game totally ended up being rigged with people grabbing more stuff that they should have and taking stuff from other peoples' baskets. X3 Buuut what do you expect? XD We "lost" that time around. After that was dodgeball. Me being a giant target, I was the first one out on my team. XD I couldn't even tell that the ball had hit me. Oh well. We lost that too! The final game was musical chairs. I managed to get to the second round, but then was out the next one because I didn't end up seeing the nearby empty chair. X3 WHATEVER. The game was dragging on a bit, we I took a breather with Aki before heading back to the dealer's den to get my badges. Though only one was actually finished! Gonna have to wait for the other one. Soon hopefully. X3 After that I totally met up with my mother at the convention. Yup, she lives in Reno and I told her I was staying at the GSR. She wanted to see me, so I let her know when I was free. I greeted her in fursuit and it just about made her day. XD She was totally into all the fursuiters around, it was great. We caught up a bit, then I walked around some more, bumped into wolfpuptk, who is totally awesome! Was always a pleasure. Then after that I figured it was time to hang up fursuiting for the con. After putting stuff away, I headed back down to watch Oven, eonny, and bando37(except he wasn't old enough) gamble at the casino. X3 I didn't do any of that though! Had dinner afterwards, which consisted of a giant, delicious burrito. Then it was time to scavenge for booze! It wasn't going very well! Met up with Aki and we hit up the end of the dance, where the bass was even more crazy than the night before, and we were standing right next to the speakers. It was seriously intense. "Danced" for a bit there, even though it felt like my insides were going to melt. XD After that, mainly hung out with Aki and caffeinefree- in the room, since it was finally pretty clear. XD I had a crazy craving for a milkshake, and guess what, room service had fucking milkshakes and delivered them at like midnight to our room. It was amazing and the milkshakes were also amazing, like the perfect texture. We still didn't have any booze! But holodrom said he had extra, so we headed over to his room to partake. floe and dovne were there too! Totally wasn't expecting that. Drinks were short-lived because of how late it was, but it was cool getting to hang out for a bit. Headed back to our room and stole the bed again! Got packed and ready for tomorrow, since I was leaving kind of early-ish, and then just crashed after that.
Monday
Thankfully I got up earlier than I was originally planning, because the people I was driving with were trying to leave earlier. XP Funnily enough, I still got down to the lobby before they did, so whateverrrrrr. It gave me a chance to say goodbye to a bunch of people that passed by me, heh. Like wolfdude27! Who I forgot to mention earlier tried to give me a running hug while we were in fursuit and lost balance, bringing us both to the floor. Security yelled at us even though it was an accident! :D Yaaaay. Anyway, we all piled into the car once more and drove all the way back to San Diego. Thankfully my sanity was still intact. XP Oh! And I got to stand in the snow fall for the first time ever on the way back! We stopped at a small rest stop in the mountains and the snow really started to pick up, it was actually really cool. Didn't really interfere with the driving either, which was good. Everyone made it back in one piece and that was that!

I had never played a game with a joystick like that before, it was interesting. After that was the dance competition, which I wanted to actually watch for once. It was great seeing all the dancers perform, makes me wish I could do something like that. X3 After walking around a bit, I came back to the lounge to find that the Super Smash Brothers Brawl station only had four people playing on it, so I watched a bit and waited to see if a seat would free up. Eventually one did, and I was invited to play while in fursuit. XD Haha, I'll admit it took me a bit to warm up and figure out where the buttons were, since I couldn't really feel them, but after a while I started winning again. XP You can't get mad at an adorable fursuiter though! Haha, nah, they were totally awesome sports about it, especially slyknuxdragon! That was incredibly fun, and something that I had been wanting to do for a while. XD After that the dance started to pick up! So I switched over to that part of the con space and started dancing, and by "dancing" I pretty much mean flailing to the beat. But hey, it's loads of fun, especially in fursuit. Once I got a little tired, I pulled out my poi and switched to spinning that for as long as my hand could handle, heh. I think a few people dug it, and there are a few photos too. After I got bit burnt out, I found out that our room was... "occupied" so my marathon still wasn't over! I walked around some more to kill time, then meandered back into the gamer's lounge and bumped into e-w01lf. He became my distraction until lexifoxxx came by and started talking about a bunch of stuff and stories, it was actually really entertaining. X3 That killed a tremendous amount of time. XD Eventually the group split and I figured it would be alright to head back up to the room to finally take my fursuit off, heh. Just about 12 hours of fursuiting. XP With frequent breaks in the headless lounge, but I never took the entire thing off until I got back to my room. It was totally awesome. Though I can't deny that I was a bit hungry. Whoops. XP Anyway, it was still kinda "early" for Saturday night, so I kinda wandered off on my own to see if I could bump into anyone or find out if anyone was up to anything. Most people were on the party floor, but I'm coming to realize that I don't really like the "big" party scene, atleast not without someone who doesn't mind me sticking to them like glue, because that's what's going to happen with a bunch of people I don't really know around. XP I prefer smaller get-togethers with people that I already know or a few people that I can get to know. Both options have booze, but one is for more comfortable than the other! I don't know. X3 Anyway, I headed back to the dance, where the bass was craaaazy high. I don't think I've ever been to a dance where the bass rattled me that much before. It was awesome though. I was too tired to dance, so I just kinda sat around and let the music drown everything out, still kind of hoping that something would come up at the last second, heh. No such luck, and apparently I was even more tired than I thought, because even though it felt like my bones were being shaken by the music, I was still starting to doze off. XP It was cool to see Koda DJ for a bit though, I didn't know he did that. X3 Headed back up to the room after that and actually got to claim a bed, haha. Sunday
Got up early-ish, thankfully because Oven and aetius were having breakfast at Johnny Rocket's! I got down there just in time, and funnily enough, Ollie showed up there too! He was gonna be heading out though, so I'm glad I got to say goodbye. After breakfast it was time for the fursuit games! I was excited. X3 The first game was like a ring toss but with floppy discs into baskets. My toss bounced off the rim of the three-pointer, but our team still won anyway. XP After that was a coin grabbing game which was way too hectic for me. XD I can't really run, and I'd rather not be colliding into a lot of other fursuiters. X3 Our team won that round too. Then we played a weird version of hungry, hungry hippos, I guess. XP The setup was pretty awkward, and the game totally ended up being rigged with people grabbing more stuff that they should have and taking stuff from other peoples' baskets. X3 Buuut what do you expect? XD We "lost" that time around. After that was dodgeball. Me being a giant target, I was the first one out on my team. XD I couldn't even tell that the ball had hit me. Oh well. We lost that too! The final game was musical chairs. I managed to get to the second round, but then was out the next one because I didn't end up seeing the nearby empty chair. X3 WHATEVER. The game was dragging on a bit, we I took a breather with Aki before heading back to the dealer's den to get my badges. Though only one was actually finished! Gonna have to wait for the other one. Soon hopefully. X3 After that I totally met up with my mother at the convention. Yup, she lives in Reno and I told her I was staying at the GSR. She wanted to see me, so I let her know when I was free. I greeted her in fursuit and it just about made her day. XD She was totally into all the fursuiters around, it was great. We caught up a bit, then I walked around some more, bumped into wolfpuptk, who is totally awesome! Was always a pleasure. Then after that I figured it was time to hang up fursuiting for the con. After putting stuff away, I headed back down to watch Oven, eonny, and bando37(except he wasn't old enough) gamble at the casino. X3 I didn't do any of that though! Had dinner afterwards, which consisted of a giant, delicious burrito. Then it was time to scavenge for booze! It wasn't going very well! Met up with Aki and we hit up the end of the dance, where the bass was even more crazy than the night before, and we were standing right next to the speakers. It was seriously intense. "Danced" for a bit there, even though it felt like my insides were going to melt. XD After that, mainly hung out with Aki and caffeinefree- in the room, since it was finally pretty clear. XD I had a crazy craving for a milkshake, and guess what, room service had fucking milkshakes and delivered them at like midnight to our room. It was amazing and the milkshakes were also amazing, like the perfect texture. We still didn't have any booze! But holodrom said he had extra, so we headed over to his room to partake. floe and dovne were there too! Totally wasn't expecting that. Drinks were short-lived because of how late it was, but it was cool getting to hang out for a bit. Headed back to our room and stole the bed again! Got packed and ready for tomorrow, since I was leaving kind of early-ish, and then just crashed after that.
Monday
Thankfully I got up earlier than I was originally planning, because the people I was driving with were trying to leave earlier. XP Funnily enough, I still got down to the lobby before they did, so whateverrrrrr. It gave me a chance to say goodbye to a bunch of people that passed by me, heh. Like wolfdude27! Who I forgot to mention earlier tried to give me a running hug while we were in fursuit and lost balance, bringing us both to the floor. Security yelled at us even though it was an accident! :D Yaaaay. Anyway, we all piled into the car once more and drove all the way back to San Diego. Thankfully my sanity was still intact. XP Oh! And I got to stand in the snow fall for the first time ever on the way back! We stopped at a small rest stop in the mountains and the snow really started to pick up, it was actually really cool. Didn't really interfere with the driving either, which was good. Everyone made it back in one piece and that was that!

Further Confusion 2014: Jazz Revisits his largest Furry Con
General | Posted 12 years agoAaahhh, finally got some time to type this up, so it's time to recollect on my time at FC2014! I wonder how long this one will be. X3
Thursday
Barely Thursday, to be precise! I left my house at midnight, Thursday had just started, to go pick up
serv and 
happywulf for the drive up. Found out that I was also driving 
husher up as well. XD We all ate at a nearby Denny's before starting the six hour drive up to San Jose! I'll admit I was kinda worried, heh, but Serv and Husher did an excellent job of keeping me company during the drive. So many stories! Also found out that Husher loves Zelda, so when he found my 25th Anniversary CD, we listened to that the rest of the way to the convention. XD Got to the convention center at about 10am, and it was nap time for me! We crashed in Serv's room, where I got to see 
unition, 
marfles, and 
azlanfiretail again! Everyone was recovering from crazy party the other night, so naaaap time. Got up at around 2pm and started texting people to see if anyone was around. Meandered with Serv and spotted simboku with 
tigurpaw already druuuunk. Bumped into caffeinefree- and akumi as well! Wandered the con space for a little more until 
rykahuskypup showed up, then we could move our stuff into the room! My arms hated me after that. XP Still not much going on, so Ryka and I decided to head up to pre-reg, where the line was crazy! Buuuut 
halon was pretty close to the front so we just kinda walked over and... CUT IN LINE! I think it's gonna be a tradition for me. XD So got that done fairly quickly, then met up with 
sexybuizel, who was now waiting in the regular reg line. XD So slow, but awesome time killer! It also introduced me to how insane the 3DS Streetpasses were gonna be. I kept getting more and more while I was just sitting there! I think I got like 150 new people total from just the convention. XP Then it was finally time! 
opturk and 
blueotter finally arrived and we were gonna get foooood. I hadn't eaten all day! Oh god! So we got dinner and had a few drinks. Then it was time to finally see Turk's fursuit! It was soooo gooood. Then we both fursuited for the first time at the convention! We wandered around the convention being all cute and stuff for the rest of the night, it was soooo fun. We even popped into the dance for a little bit. Then we went back to my room and prepared things for tomorrow. Turk was wiped and had to wait until 
iavan came to the convention, which wasn't until like 3am! But everything got sorted out and we all slept for a few hours after. XD
Friday
Turk was still on Texas time, so he got me up early for breakfast. XP Whateverrrrr. We went to Peggy Sue's and it was delicious. Afterwards we got to wait in the reg line again for them to get all registered and stuff! That killed some more time. With badges in hand, we then walked through the Dealer's Den and peeked at all the arts. It was a quick run through, so I didn't really get to see everything, but it's fine. We hung out a bit in Turk's room after that, then more fursuiting! So much fursuiting! There was a Jazz Concert going on at the main stage that I thought would be silly to attend, but Turk didn't have a badge with him! Oh well, we were having fun running around anyway. Met up with
lockford a couple times. X3 Then all of a sudden it was time for dinner! Burritos! Oh man, that place was good. They got burritos that I don't see very often in other places. We also stopped at Psycho Donuts, which actually has an interesting selection of tasty donuts. Glad we went. X3 Then it was time to shop for booze! Got enough for the night and drank ALL OF IT. We also spent our drinking time watching incredibly stupid videos on youtube. Like Bad Lip Reading, Game Grumps Animated, Dragonzball P, and the like. It was a crazy gigglefest. Was feeling pretty happy, so what time was it afterward? Fursuit time! We wiggled our way to the dance and got up on stage. You don't even know how much fun that night was. Best night. Drunk fursuit dancing was seriously the best. We did that and some more walking around for the rest of the night, then turned in at a fairly reasonable time, since the fursuit parade was tomorrow!
Saturday
We got up early again, since we needed to get breakfast before the parade. So we did that, chilled for a little bit, then got back into fursuit again! Piled into the hallway with a bunch of other fursuiters preparing for the parade. Met up with
strikercue12! Hadn't seen him since Califur, and it was totally awesome. :3 Preparation was taking a little longer than expected, and people were tossing balloons around, so a couple of us got in a little circle and passed the balloon between each other with our noses. XD I know atleast one person was recording a little of that, I'd love to see it somewhere. Then we finally got inside! redclawtheotter was organizing the otters together so we could all walk the parade. I got to see ovenotter's fursuit then! We otted about while we were waiting and it was very adorable! 
blueions was there, and I got to meet 
teguso for the first time. X3 
lunabellefox also came up to me and was seriously cute! X3 With all the otters ready, we marched on through the convention! Oh my gosh, I know I said I wasn't prepared when I first did it at Arizona Fur Con, but it happened all over again! So many people and cameras! On both sides of the parade! I was seriously shaking my head back and forth like a retard trying to see as many people as I could. Did my best to wave at anyone who called my name. Had to carry my tail too, so people wouldn't trip on it. XP It was soooo awesome though! I loved peoples' reactions to the little otter train in the parade. After the parade everyone had to huddle up for the group photo. X3 I think I actually got a good spot this time. XP Waiting for that picture to come up! Afterwards, I was SUPPOSED to meet up with the other otters for a photoshoot, but I lost them in the mass of furries. :c I was actually pretty bummed about that, not gonna lie. Oh well, I guess. It was time for lunch after that. We were gonna get sushi, but the sushi place was out of sushi rice! What the fuuuuuck? So that was pretty disappointing. We decided to just get more booze and order pizza instead. I kinda wanted to check out what the fursuit music video was all about, but food definitely takes priority. Oh well! Maybe next time. Had pizza and drinks! But didn't have enough time to get really drunk before the Brawl tournament, even though I thought that would be hilarious. XP So we headed over aaaand found out that a lot of people were in the tournament, and there was only one tv. And the only controllers available were the ones brought by other people. Yay! XP I had to wait so long for my first turn that I was already sober lol. Got to kinda fanboy over 
with Turk though. He plays R.O.B. too! Which made me realize that I think I saw him playing last year and had no idea who he was. XP So I managed to bum a controller for the first few rounds of the tournament, then the guy leaving his controller lost and left, which left only one other controller available. Aaaand guess what. It was totally broken. XP I got to play against 
with a faulty controller. XP Needless to say I lost. Not saying I would have won, but I can say that the match would have been a lot more fun and satisfying if I had a proper controller. XP Tried to get a rematch afterwards, but Howee had to goooo. Bleh. Felt kinda lame spending all those hours in the game lounge for such an anti-climatic ending when I could have been doing other stuff Saturday night. Oh well, it was still fun for the most part. Ended up crashing in Turk's room that night because it was getting late and didn't really feel like moving.
Sunday
Had to get up fairly early the next day because I needed to move my stuff out of Ryka's room AND get ready for the fursuit games! Managed to do it without much trouble, thanks to Turk being awesome and helping with the moving. I ended up missing the first game, but it was probably for the better, considering it was a game involving lots of running, sliding, tackling, and falling over. XP Dunno how well my fursuit would have held up, so just watched the remainder. The next game was a lot more tame, just rolling some balls into a basket at the other end of the dance floor. Shoutout to
for being the best "team captain" ever. He was so cute and fun! After the first "round" he suggested we all toss our balls at the same time like artillery, instead of one at a time, and even counted down for us to fire. It was hilarious. The game pretty much devolved after that. During the inbetween downtime, I took one of the silver balls and kept trying to balance it on my nose. X3 Also more otting with Oven, heh. Then we tried to play a game called Hunters or something, where a few people had to throw balls at everyone else trying to run across the dance floor. That only lasted one round, then everyone wanted to play dodgeball. XD So we did that instead! I deflected one ball, then tried to toss one and it was immediately caught. XD I didn't even get to play! Though I did get to meet 
and 
as a result, which was totally cool. :3 Though, the highlight of the game would have to be when one of the fursuiters got back up(they were "dead") and started walking like a zombie to the other side of the floor while being pelted with balls, saying she was already dead. XD Was pretty silly to watch. After the game, the room just kinda collapsed into a giant furpile for a bit, and then everyone did their own thing as the event officially ended. X3 I still had loads of fun though. Then it was definitely time for food! Even though that meant no fursuit chess. X3 I'll admit that I was pretty curious about that. Iavan had to leave after that because he had a super crazy drive and school to deal with! Laaaaame. It was awesome meeting him though. It was at that time that I realized that I hadn't really set foot into the Dealer's Den the entire convention. XD I hadn't bought anything and it was crazy! That needed fixing, so we headed back there after food and actually looked through peoples' art. Unfortunately pretty much everyone was closed on Sunday, surpriiiiise. XD Pretty much the only person open was 
, and I kinda wanted to get something from him anyway, so there we go! It was cool that I got to talk with him a little too. I was trying not to fanboy. But it was also kinda awkward, since I found out later that a friend got me a surprise commission from Kipper and Kipper brought it up and I had noooo idea what he was talking about. XP I'm sorry! The poster is so awesome though! I'll probably be posting that up. But yeah, still ordered a badge from him, looking forward to cuteness! Then we wandered around the other artists and meandered. Then we got sushi for dinner! Finally! It was soooo good, too. We chilled out in Turk's room for a bit after that before deciding to suit up and head to Serv's room for fursuit shenanigans! When we got there, I got to see 
again, which was awesome. X3 Oven came by a little later with haze-wolf and then we kinda had a little cuddle pile on the bed. XP It was niiiiice. Everyone else suited up and then we decided to go to the dance. Turk stepped out though, considering he only had one badge to share with his boyfriend, so he headed back to his room. The rest of us wandered to the dance, bumped into plenty of drunk fursuiters, one of which got all fondle-like with one of my friends OOPS X3, and then bounced around on stage during the dance. The dance was pretty fun, though I did feel bad about leaving Turk behind like that. D: Aaand soon after that I realized something pretty freaking important: Turk had all my stuff and the Hyatt locks its doors after 6pm. XP Soooo, I was kinda freaking out a little bit, since I didn't have any clothes or stuff for my contacts. Tried to contact Turk with Serv's phone, but then I remembered that Turk's signal was complete crap in San Jose for some reason. XP So the only thing I could do was go to the hotel and hope that they'd let me in. Serv wasn't feeling that great at the time, but Haze was really sweet and offered to be an escort over, and even offered his room if things didn't work out XP. Luckily two women were heading into the hotel when we got there, so we didn't have to bribe security or anything. XP We headed up to Turk's room, knocked... and nobody answered. Turns out they were both asleep. XP We started heading back when Turk finally poked his head out. Success! Thank Jebus. XP Haze headed back to the con and I prepared for bed after that. Oh, and also guided Happywulf over since he needed a place to stay for the night. In the end everything managed to work out nicely, thankfully, heh.
Monday
Had to get up early one more time because we needed breakfast before Turk and Blue needed to leave foreverrrrrr. D: Peggy Sue's has some pretty awesome breakfast burritos, by the way. We had those quite a bit. But yeah, we ate and packed and moved our shit, then I had to say good-bye. D: It was such a bummer. It was totally awesome hanging during the con though. After that, met up with Serv because pretty much EVERYONE that I knew out of state was already gone or about to leave, such laaaaaame. Got to say good-bye to a few people though, which was good. We wandered aimlessly since there wasn't much else to do, procrastinating a bit because we didn't want to leave. We got ice cream though! That was pretty nice. X3 But we had to leave eventually, and we very slowly did so. Loooong drive ahead of me there, heh. But I've done it before!
And that's most of what I remember! This convention was seriously a blast, it totally blew me away. Fullsuiting at the convention was the most fun I've ever had, and I'm glad I could do it with such awesome people. This has got to be the best con I've been to to date, and I'm especially glad I could share my experiences here so I can always remember them. Soooo much happened, and I got to see so many people this time around. Thank you so much for making this an awesome convention for me, it was an awesome experience.

Thursday
Barely Thursday, to be precise! I left my house at midnight, Thursday had just started, to go pick up
serv and 
happywulf for the drive up. Found out that I was also driving 
husher up as well. XD We all ate at a nearby Denny's before starting the six hour drive up to San Jose! I'll admit I was kinda worried, heh, but Serv and Husher did an excellent job of keeping me company during the drive. So many stories! Also found out that Husher loves Zelda, so when he found my 25th Anniversary CD, we listened to that the rest of the way to the convention. XD Got to the convention center at about 10am, and it was nap time for me! We crashed in Serv's room, where I got to see 
unition, 
marfles, and 
azlanfiretail again! Everyone was recovering from crazy party the other night, so naaaap time. Got up at around 2pm and started texting people to see if anyone was around. Meandered with Serv and spotted simboku with 
tigurpaw already druuuunk. Bumped into caffeinefree- and akumi as well! Wandered the con space for a little more until 
rykahuskypup showed up, then we could move our stuff into the room! My arms hated me after that. XP Still not much going on, so Ryka and I decided to head up to pre-reg, where the line was crazy! Buuuut 
halon was pretty close to the front so we just kinda walked over and... CUT IN LINE! I think it's gonna be a tradition for me. XD So got that done fairly quickly, then met up with 
sexybuizel, who was now waiting in the regular reg line. XD So slow, but awesome time killer! It also introduced me to how insane the 3DS Streetpasses were gonna be. I kept getting more and more while I was just sitting there! I think I got like 150 new people total from just the convention. XP Then it was finally time! 
opturk and 
blueotter finally arrived and we were gonna get foooood. I hadn't eaten all day! Oh god! So we got dinner and had a few drinks. Then it was time to finally see Turk's fursuit! It was soooo gooood. Then we both fursuited for the first time at the convention! We wandered around the convention being all cute and stuff for the rest of the night, it was soooo fun. We even popped into the dance for a little bit. Then we went back to my room and prepared things for tomorrow. Turk was wiped and had to wait until 
iavan came to the convention, which wasn't until like 3am! But everything got sorted out and we all slept for a few hours after. XDFriday
Turk was still on Texas time, so he got me up early for breakfast. XP Whateverrrrr. We went to Peggy Sue's and it was delicious. Afterwards we got to wait in the reg line again for them to get all registered and stuff! That killed some more time. With badges in hand, we then walked through the Dealer's Den and peeked at all the arts. It was a quick run through, so I didn't really get to see everything, but it's fine. We hung out a bit in Turk's room after that, then more fursuiting! So much fursuiting! There was a Jazz Concert going on at the main stage that I thought would be silly to attend, but Turk didn't have a badge with him! Oh well, we were having fun running around anyway. Met up with
lockford a couple times. X3 Then all of a sudden it was time for dinner! Burritos! Oh man, that place was good. They got burritos that I don't see very often in other places. We also stopped at Psycho Donuts, which actually has an interesting selection of tasty donuts. Glad we went. X3 Then it was time to shop for booze! Got enough for the night and drank ALL OF IT. We also spent our drinking time watching incredibly stupid videos on youtube. Like Bad Lip Reading, Game Grumps Animated, Dragonzball P, and the like. It was a crazy gigglefest. Was feeling pretty happy, so what time was it afterward? Fursuit time! We wiggled our way to the dance and got up on stage. You don't even know how much fun that night was. Best night. Drunk fursuit dancing was seriously the best. We did that and some more walking around for the rest of the night, then turned in at a fairly reasonable time, since the fursuit parade was tomorrow!Saturday
We got up early again, since we needed to get breakfast before the parade. So we did that, chilled for a little bit, then got back into fursuit again! Piled into the hallway with a bunch of other fursuiters preparing for the parade. Met up with
strikercue12! Hadn't seen him since Califur, and it was totally awesome. :3 Preparation was taking a little longer than expected, and people were tossing balloons around, so a couple of us got in a little circle and passed the balloon between each other with our noses. XD I know atleast one person was recording a little of that, I'd love to see it somewhere. Then we finally got inside! redclawtheotter was organizing the otters together so we could all walk the parade. I got to see ovenotter's fursuit then! We otted about while we were waiting and it was very adorable! 
blueions was there, and I got to meet 
teguso for the first time. X3 
lunabellefox also came up to me and was seriously cute! X3 With all the otters ready, we marched on through the convention! Oh my gosh, I know I said I wasn't prepared when I first did it at Arizona Fur Con, but it happened all over again! So many people and cameras! On both sides of the parade! I was seriously shaking my head back and forth like a retard trying to see as many people as I could. Did my best to wave at anyone who called my name. Had to carry my tail too, so people wouldn't trip on it. XP It was soooo awesome though! I loved peoples' reactions to the little otter train in the parade. After the parade everyone had to huddle up for the group photo. X3 I think I actually got a good spot this time. XP Waiting for that picture to come up! Afterwards, I was SUPPOSED to meet up with the other otters for a photoshoot, but I lost them in the mass of furries. :c I was actually pretty bummed about that, not gonna lie. Oh well, I guess. It was time for lunch after that. We were gonna get sushi, but the sushi place was out of sushi rice! What the fuuuuuck? So that was pretty disappointing. We decided to just get more booze and order pizza instead. I kinda wanted to check out what the fursuit music video was all about, but food definitely takes priority. Oh well! Maybe next time. Had pizza and drinks! But didn't have enough time to get really drunk before the Brawl tournament, even though I thought that would be hilarious. XP So we headed over aaaand found out that a lot of people were in the tournament, and there was only one tv. And the only controllers available were the ones brought by other people. Yay! XP I had to wait so long for my first turn that I was already sober lol. Got to kinda fanboy over 
with Turk though. He plays R.O.B. too! Which made me realize that I think I saw him playing last year and had no idea who he was. XP So I managed to bum a controller for the first few rounds of the tournament, then the guy leaving his controller lost and left, which left only one other controller available. Aaaand guess what. It was totally broken. XP I got to play against 
with a faulty controller. XP Needless to say I lost. Not saying I would have won, but I can say that the match would have been a lot more fun and satisfying if I had a proper controller. XP Tried to get a rematch afterwards, but Howee had to goooo. Bleh. Felt kinda lame spending all those hours in the game lounge for such an anti-climatic ending when I could have been doing other stuff Saturday night. Oh well, it was still fun for the most part. Ended up crashing in Turk's room that night because it was getting late and didn't really feel like moving. Sunday
Had to get up fairly early the next day because I needed to move my stuff out of Ryka's room AND get ready for the fursuit games! Managed to do it without much trouble, thanks to Turk being awesome and helping with the moving. I ended up missing the first game, but it was probably for the better, considering it was a game involving lots of running, sliding, tackling, and falling over. XP Dunno how well my fursuit would have held up, so just watched the remainder. The next game was a lot more tame, just rolling some balls into a basket at the other end of the dance floor. Shoutout to
for being the best "team captain" ever. He was so cute and fun! After the first "round" he suggested we all toss our balls at the same time like artillery, instead of one at a time, and even counted down for us to fire. It was hilarious. The game pretty much devolved after that. During the inbetween downtime, I took one of the silver balls and kept trying to balance it on my nose. X3 Also more otting with Oven, heh. Then we tried to play a game called Hunters or something, where a few people had to throw balls at everyone else trying to run across the dance floor. That only lasted one round, then everyone wanted to play dodgeball. XD So we did that instead! I deflected one ball, then tried to toss one and it was immediately caught. XD I didn't even get to play! Though I did get to meet 
and 
as a result, which was totally cool. :3 Though, the highlight of the game would have to be when one of the fursuiters got back up(they were "dead") and started walking like a zombie to the other side of the floor while being pelted with balls, saying she was already dead. XD Was pretty silly to watch. After the game, the room just kinda collapsed into a giant furpile for a bit, and then everyone did their own thing as the event officially ended. X3 I still had loads of fun though. Then it was definitely time for food! Even though that meant no fursuit chess. X3 I'll admit that I was pretty curious about that. Iavan had to leave after that because he had a super crazy drive and school to deal with! Laaaaame. It was awesome meeting him though. It was at that time that I realized that I hadn't really set foot into the Dealer's Den the entire convention. XD I hadn't bought anything and it was crazy! That needed fixing, so we headed back there after food and actually looked through peoples' art. Unfortunately pretty much everyone was closed on Sunday, surpriiiiise. XD Pretty much the only person open was 
, and I kinda wanted to get something from him anyway, so there we go! It was cool that I got to talk with him a little too. I was trying not to fanboy. But it was also kinda awkward, since I found out later that a friend got me a surprise commission from Kipper and Kipper brought it up and I had noooo idea what he was talking about. XP I'm sorry! The poster is so awesome though! I'll probably be posting that up. But yeah, still ordered a badge from him, looking forward to cuteness! Then we wandered around the other artists and meandered. Then we got sushi for dinner! Finally! It was soooo good, too. We chilled out in Turk's room for a bit after that before deciding to suit up and head to Serv's room for fursuit shenanigans! When we got there, I got to see 
again, which was awesome. X3 Oven came by a little later with haze-wolf and then we kinda had a little cuddle pile on the bed. XP It was niiiiice. Everyone else suited up and then we decided to go to the dance. Turk stepped out though, considering he only had one badge to share with his boyfriend, so he headed back to his room. The rest of us wandered to the dance, bumped into plenty of drunk fursuiters, one of which got all fondle-like with one of my friends OOPS X3, and then bounced around on stage during the dance. The dance was pretty fun, though I did feel bad about leaving Turk behind like that. D: Aaand soon after that I realized something pretty freaking important: Turk had all my stuff and the Hyatt locks its doors after 6pm. XP Soooo, I was kinda freaking out a little bit, since I didn't have any clothes or stuff for my contacts. Tried to contact Turk with Serv's phone, but then I remembered that Turk's signal was complete crap in San Jose for some reason. XP So the only thing I could do was go to the hotel and hope that they'd let me in. Serv wasn't feeling that great at the time, but Haze was really sweet and offered to be an escort over, and even offered his room if things didn't work out XP. Luckily two women were heading into the hotel when we got there, so we didn't have to bribe security or anything. XP We headed up to Turk's room, knocked... and nobody answered. Turns out they were both asleep. XP We started heading back when Turk finally poked his head out. Success! Thank Jebus. XP Haze headed back to the con and I prepared for bed after that. Oh, and also guided Happywulf over since he needed a place to stay for the night. In the end everything managed to work out nicely, thankfully, heh. Monday

Yup, just turned 24. 24 on the 24th, my "golden" birthday I guess. Now I'm OLDER than prehistoric. I am a fossil. Oh god, save me.
Oh yeah, I'm so happy right now too because I'm about to pick up my fursuit! It's finally, completely, done. Best unintentional birthday coincidence present ever!

Arizona Fur Con 2013: Jazz Takes on Another New Furry Con
General | Posted 12 years agoWanted to unwind and take a break from school shit. SO, here comes another con report, just like always! Let's see how long this one ends up being.
Thursday
Met up with rykahuskypup after class in the afternoon and the two of us headed on our way to Arizona! I got to do homework doing the six hour drive so I wouldn't have any to work on during the actual convention. XP Wasn't too bad and the drive itself was long, but fine. Got to see mountains and desert and stuff! We arrived in Tempe around 9pm, but instead of checking out the convention for a few hours, we thought it would be cool to meet up with a bunch of Ryka's friends and kick off the weekend by eating out at the local Buffalo Wild Wings! I got to meet 
thunderroo, 
chubs, 
nifes, and a few other people that I'm not sure even have FAs! I know atleast two of them weren't furry. XP But yeah! We played Cards Against Humanity and I attempted to not die on hot wings because they were drenched in sauce. I am masochistic. X3 Afterwards a few of us head to Chubs and Nifes' place to hang out for the rest of the night. They have such a cute dog, oh my god! He was so friendly! I love dogs. X3 Anyway, we chatted about random things throughout the night, mainly furry stuff. X3 Then Chubs was awesome and offered to let us stay at his place for the weekend. :0 So once everyone cleared out we got everything ready for bed because it was getting laaaate and I wanted to not be sleepy for the convention. The others played magic for a bit and I slept on a floor mattress! Miller, their dog, was adorable and came to lay next to me. X3
Friday
Tried to get up fairly early so we wouldn't miss too much. Ryka and I left for the convention at about 10am. We picked up donuts for breakfast on the way because we are fatties! We get there and it's a lot less crowded than I thought it would be. XD Not a bad thing. Went and got registered for the weekend and then I was supposed to meet up with
neevipanda because he agreed to be awesome and let me keep my stuff in his hotel room in case Ryka ever needed the car for stuff. Found dat panda and grabbed my stoofs and hauled it up to his room! Kiiiind of wanted to fursuit right away, but Neevi wanted to take a break and I didn't want to do it by myself just yet. X3 So we explored the con space instead! Hotel hallway con! Wandered aimlessly and found where all the rooms were, including the Dealers Den. We looked at what they had in there for a bit and then bumped into Ryka in the hall. I got to meet 
kahluafennec! After that I wanted to fursuit! Yup! Was totally happening, first time suiting at a convention. So went back up to the room and got fuzzified with Neevi, then roamed around all cute! Basically we wandered around the same areas we did before. X3 Peeked in the headless lounge every once in a while because Ryka was volunteering there and I could go in with my fursuit and not feel like I was breaking any rules! :0 I loved hearing peoples' reactions to my fursuit though! I would say cuteness has been achieved and I'm so happy for that! It really made fursuiting awesome. Anyway, we were in desperate need of a way to kill time. XP Eventually bumped in 
hemmsfox and he decided to suit up and keep us company. After that we all hung out around the front of the main ballroom. Hemms made a new child friend that would not stop randomly hugging him. XP I got poked by 
triss and then hugged! Chatted with him and the girl he was with(who I feel like a complete ASS about because I don't think I ever got her name), but they were both totally cool! They were waiting for the fashion show and Hemms was going to participate, so Neevi and I decided to watch as well to kill time before the dance competition. It was interesting to watch while in fursuit, I'll tell you that much. X3 After that we went back up to Neevi's room and defuzzified ourselves for the dance competition. Still had some time, so we just chilled out in the room for a bit. Then dance competition! My first time watching one all the way through. XP Was definitely pretty cool! Then we finally got food because we were all starving! McDonalds! Yeah! Since I wasn't dead anymore when we got back, I wanted to fursuit more! And it was also dance time! I was gonna go to the dance in my fursuit! Oh my gosh, one of my biggest highlights from the convention, I had so much fun that night. Tried spinning in fursuit a bit... which is a lot harder for me because my fingers are webbed. XP I was still able to do a few things, but it was pretty awkward just placing the loop around my fingers, heh. Was still totally fun and Neevi eventually joined me with his own poi! Though he used them mainly as glowsticks. I traded off between spinning and stomp "dancing" like a retard to the music and waving my poi around. Didn't care because I was in fursuit. XP Everything became a blur and I got totally into it. Two hours passed and I noticed that the dance room was getting pretty empty and I instantly got tired. XD Although, once I stopped and caught my breath I felt totally hyped for some reason. XP Wanted to run around the con in fursuit for a bit longer, even though it was kind of empty at that time, but Ryka was dead tired from staying up too late before! Also I realized I was dehydrated! lol whoops who would have thought!? So I got water and we headed back to the house for the night, planning on being better rested for Saturday. X3
Saturday
Got up a little bit earlier this time because Ryka had plans! Though Chubs made us breakfast and it was soooo awesome! Even though it made my balaclava smell like tamales for the rest of the day. XP Got to the convention and met up with Neevi again! We decided that today was the day to buy things. XP So went back to the dealers den and checked out stuff again. I set on getting one of my pictures, the Plague headshot from Neltruin, turned into a metal badge. I thought it came out pretty cool. Also ordered a badge from someone who I forgot to get a business card from! Dunno who she is yet! I'm an ass! Anyway, sat near the pool after that to kill time before the fursuit parade. Then lockford showed up! He said he was going to fursuit ALL day, so I said I was going to do the same thing! Got into fursuit and wandered again, looking cute for people. X3 There was still some time before the parade, so we wandered into the gaming lounge and started playing New Super Mario Bros WiiU or whatever in fursuit! It took a little while to figure out how to properly hold the wiimote while wearing paws. XP Our failures were pretty damn amusing though. Once we finished with that, we hung out in front of the main ballroom and bumped into Ryka with his "wife" Bunnie. She gave me all the head pats and rubs! Haha, probably more than I've ever gotten in fursuit from all times combined. XP Then it was time to head in! Took a seat while waiting for everyone to file in, then we all had to get organized for the group photo. The stage was proving to be too small and too much of a hassle to get everyone up there, so everyone had to bunch up in the center of the room for the picture instead. I thought I had an ok spot, then a big blue guy stood in front of me. >:C Was too late to try and find a better spot, so I tried my best to get my head out there, maybe you'll see an ear or something in the official photo. XP Oh well. Then we filed out! Oh my gosh, are there always that many cameras during the parade? I was totally blown away by how many I saw when I came walking out, it seemed crazy. I did my best to wave to anybody I thought was recording and I also waved to anybody who called my name. X3 I had a blast though! First time in the fursuit parade. I was actually debating on whether or not to participate since I only have kind of a partial, but I'm so glad that I did. X3 After those shenanigans it was totally time for food! Neevi and I got out of suit for it, but Lockford was standing by what he said and went to Subway in suit! Got back afterward and lost Neevi! Hung out with Lockford for a bit before deciding to get back into fursuit. We were going to play some more Mario, but he left without me and there were no open controllers! D: So I watched a bit before just sneaking out. Bumped into Triss again in front of the masquerade room. Chatted with him and watched him "spar" with leotsubasa. I flailed a bit as well. XP Then they disappeared for the masquerade and I stalked 
psylence for a bit before heading to the headless lounge to bug Ryka! Triss invited me to play DnD since he was hosting it for the night. I joined because I had never done it before and I thought it might be interesting. X3 Aaaand in the end I felt really bad. XP Everyone at our table was either quiet or wanted to do completely nonsensical things. So quiet that even I was compelled to try and start something! Me! The quiet guy! Though it was difficult to initiate anything because my character was support. XP We hardly got anything done before our time was up. I legitimately felt bad, and I wanted to try again. D: Oh well I guess. :c Headed back up to the room to get out of suit, since I wanted to spin poi at the dance "for real" this time. Ended up taking a longer break than expected while trying to comfort a friend, but eventually went back down. BUT I was stopped by Ryka and his boozed up friends. X3 I missed out on drinks! D: Giggled at them for a little while before pulling myself away, I really wanted to spin. XP Got to do that for a little bit, then my batteries died! And I forgot to bring my spares down with me like an idiot! I was going to head back up and get them since there was still time left, but I ended up being stopped by Ryka again and played watchdog for a bit while things got situated with his friends. Once I was able to get back up to the room, Ryka came up to check on me. XD I was going to spin outside for them since I couldn't do it at the dance, but I decided to just get back into fursuit instead. XP Checked up on Ryka's friends and once things were cool, Ryka wanted to leave! Whaaaaaaat? It was barely past 1am! Fiiiine, you can use the fursuit games in the morning as an excuse. XP I like wandering in fursuit, especially at night when it's cool. Also fewer other fursuiters so more people to notice me! :0 Kind of, heh. Oh well, headed back and got some rest for the last day. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that as I was heading back up to the room in fursuit to grab my things... I tripped over someone laying down across the hallway. She said she was fine, but I was totally embarrassed and still felt like a giant dick. Bleh, didn't feel too hot after that, glad it happened at the end of the day, if it was going to happen at all...
Sunday
Well, procrastinated just a little too much and kind of scrambled to get out of the house on time! Got more donuts because they are amazing. Got to the convention and I was literally putting on my fursuit as I was walking up to the door because the fursuit games were starting right then. XP Proooobably looked really silly. Just barely made it though! Still felt kind of weird participating with only a partial, but I worry too much about stuff. XP Anyway, the first game was called Barreling, I think. XP You get a horse plush and you're supposed to "gallop" (think Monty Python and the Holy Grail X3) in a figure-8 around some cones. I had shoes so kind of felt like cheating, but I didn't win anyway. X3 Next was rounding up cows in teams of three! Just supposed to gather up all the cow plushies and put them in the basket as fast as possible. You get bonus points if you toss them into the basket. I got to be with Lockford and Psylence! Since there was no rule against it, we decided to sweep down the stage and slide all the cows next to the basket. XD Then Psylence and Lockford tossed as many as they could into the basket while I grabbed whichever ones didn't make it in. We got the third best time with that strategy, but made enough shots to pull into the lead! We all got ribbons. X3 The third game was interesting. Five fursuiters had to stand completely still and the remainder had to pick up a bunch of candy off the floor and place it on the "models." Then the models had to get the candy across the floor to the audience, but the catch was they had to play red light-green light while doing so. X3 I didn't model, but it was pretty silly gathering up all that candy. The last game was a pose off. I decided to sit this one out because I only had a partial and I figured it would be a cool opportunity for people with fullsuits to show off a bit. XP I dunno, I'm also shy, heh. Was fun to watch though! Overall the games were totally awesome and I'm glad I could participate! Gah, so many firsts for me! That was the main thing we, meaning me XP, wanted to do that day, so there wasn't much else after that, especially since we knew it was going to be a long drive back. I wanted to wander the con again in fursuit to see if anything crazy was going on or if anyone wanted to say hi. Not so much. X3 So I said good bye to a couple people that I had met at the con and got the heck out of there. Said our final good byes to Chubs and thanked him for being so generous, then drove all the way back to San Diego.
Oh man, first year or not, I had a completely awesome time at this convention. Maybe part of it was because I was fursuiting for the first time at a convention, but whatever! It was still totally great! The dances were fun and I loved being part of the fursuit stuff, it was a total blast. It was completely worth it, I thought. Glad I could go!

I mean, you can ask to GO to the dance with someone, but with the music that is typically played, I always figure it's just a mass of movement where everyone kind of just does there own thing in little groups. XP I dunno, the way the question is worded makes me think of some "romantic" dance between two people, which I don't think works with the genre of music. XP

Califur 2013: Jazz's Revisit to his First Furry Con
General | Posted 12 years agoYuuup, if you somehow missed the last journal that has been up on my page for a while, I was totally at Califur. As before, here's another con report with most of what happened through the weekend, or atleast whatever I can remember. XD Probably will be a bit long, so be forewarned.
Friday
Drove up to the convention in the morning with
tiberiuswolf,
snowdog1717, and 
luispbms. Car full of people and baggage! Yay! Wasn't a bad drive though, nothing like driving all the way to FC. XP Anyway, we get to the convention and opturk and blueotter are just finishing up printing their confirmation thingies and totally let me slip in beside them ahead of the line. Yeah! Cheating! So printed that up and then sat in the prereg line with them for way too long, but whatever. We admired the amazing signs along the hallway wall. Angry birds wrapping paper squares! Silver wrapping paper that looked so much like chrome I almost lost my mind! Daaaaamn. But yeah, funkiness aside, we all finally got our badges and poked into the Dealer's Den for a bit, scoping out all the art and stuff. No dildos this year! Needless to say Turk and I were very disappointed at that. Shuffled through the hallway a bit before bumping into Tiberius and Snowdog again, so we figured it was a good enough time to move our stuff into the hotel room. Sooo many drinks to bring. XP Somehow we managed to do it in one trip. Once settled, I furred myself out with badges, bandana, and Boba Fett. Aww yeah. Also got to see Tiberius put up the room poster, which was totally cool. Poked in Turk's room to see the difference, then headed back to the Dealer's Den. I wanted to get a badge, like always XP, so we walked around a bit. I ended up ordering a badge from 
lexifoxxx and also buying a badge from 
zhivagod! I told Turk that I was getting a tail and then he went tail crazy! He wanted one, so we looked at some around the den. Then he forgot that he didn't have any cash, so we went on an ATM adventure! And the only reason it was an adventure is because we didn't notice the blue tape on the wall pointing to a hidden ATM. So he gets his money, then doesn't want to get one anymore! All the "good" tails are expensive, and still not the right color. XP He gets an adorable bandana instead, which was totally cool. Then we go back to Lexi Foxxx's table and bought a bunch of button pins to split with each other! Wore those for the rest of the con. XP Then Turk took five hours to put his bandana on. Bumped into lockford in the hall, then he followed us back into Turk's room. Lockford flopped on the bed, and then Turk and I totally made our own paper badges on hotel notepad paper. Totally authentic. Best part was how many people liked them. X3 Went and picked up my Zhivagod badge, which is mega adorable, then eventually met with Blue at the bar and had a couple drinks. Orange Crush apparently hits me pretty hard. XP We left Blue at the bar and wiggled around a bit, Turk also totally played Guitar Hero on expert while drunk and I signed up for the Brawl tournament, and decided that now would probably be a good time for dinner. We quested for people to go with us and found nobody! I think everyone was at the ice cream social or something, which I totally forgot about. XP Also probably the pet auction. I don't know. But bumped into 
jfoxxsuiting and he agreed on food, so we went up with him to his room so he could take his suit off. While up there, we realized that we didn't really know where anything was. XP Sooo, we decided to order pizza, but didn't have the number. XD Went down to the front desk to get it, then called and had to give the address and such, which we didn't know off hand. Poor Jfoxx... But everything got sorted out and we totally had pizza and watched the end of the first Harry Potter movie on tv lol. Perfect! Then it was tail time! Headed to 
queenkayara's room in order to get my tail, and totally high-fived 
thatkrazyk9 like 10 times because she's awesome. Loooove that tail by the way, really happy with it and it is so soft. Anyway, they were going to the dance, so Turk and I went back to my room in order to put my tail on, had to borrow Turk's belt XP, and eventually headed down there with Blue and bounced around for a little bit. Then I wowed Turk with some poi stuff, once I found enough space for it. XP Blue slipped off, then eventually Turk and I left as well. It was so much fun, though. We were almost immediately flagged by serv, who was with a very derpy 
. Totally drunk fursuiting. XP It was kind of adorable. We followed Serv around a bit while he made obscene gestures to people behind their backs with his tail, got caught in some random drunk people's photo, and headed back up to their room to desuit and "recharge." Buuut it turned out that nobody had alcohol, and everyone in my room was being all lame and asleep! It was like 11pm! Whatever. XP The four us headed back down, but not before be stopped by hotel staff. Guess some people were complaining about screaming and loudness, so we got a brief interrogation. Awesome. :P Found both 
and 
, they tagged along with us. We hung out and chatted around some fire pit near the pool until people started branching off. Serv and Audi mingled with a larger group of friends and Turk and I got really tired. We broke off and headed to bed for the night.
Saturday
Woke up in the morning and actually had time to get ready for once. XP So, did that and met up with Turk. We were planning on finding people to have breakfast with, but Blue drank too much, and it seemed like people were either asleep or had early breakfast. XP We walked around a bit more, found nobody to go with, so we just went back up to my room. Luckily Tiberius and Snowdog were awake at the time and agreed to go with us to have more of those amazing burritos we had last year at Wahoo's! Sooooo good. Fat otter. We got back and did more meandering! Tiberius had us try his crazy drink that had 151 in it! Waaaay too strong. I had Midori and Sprite instead. XP Sooo many fursuits around too! Turk and I then made it our goal to find some friends to bum suits off of for the night. Yup. Checked out the artists in the Artist's Alley, really like's art style, then bumped into , who was actually getting a badge from her. XP Also got to meet 
, who showed an awesome animation he was working on, and 
. We chatted for a bit in the hall, all really friendly people. :3 But then Turk and I were totally sold on getting badges from Nicoface. XP So, we totally did! Walked around some more, poked my clone 
in the Dealer's Den, then eventually wandered back and got Turk's badge. Which is sooo grood. Great and good. We were thinking of things to do while waiting for mine, then bumped into a fursuiter called Shadow Puppy, I think XP, who was totally stoked about the idea of drinking. So he agreed to go along with a drinking adventure, as in we piled into his truck and headed off to find a liquor store! Turk bought something called 99 Bananas and also got some 7-up. Totally drove past a crazy looking car accident on the way back. Ambulances, fire trucks, police, everything. It was pretty serious... Dunno what happened though. Back at Turk's room, we busted out the 99 Bananas and totally had some awesome drank. Strong, but doesn't taste strong, my favorite. XP Broke off from Shadow and went to go get my badge, which was so much more awesome than I thought it would be. I love it. We were alone again, so we went looking for people! Also Turk wanted to film stuff. We found Lockford again and filmed him! Yeah! Then he took the camera and we eventually just ended up back in Turk's room. XP We decided to polish off the rest of the 99 Bananas, which may or may not have been a good thing. XD Wiggly otters again! We bumbled around downstairs and found and 
, who were actually heading back to their room in order to drink. XP So, naturally, we followed them! Oh man, kind of wish I had went sooner, Sammichez made an amazing margarita and some other amazing coconut smoothie alcohol drink thing that tasted like samoas. Drunk otters now. XP I was totally hugging my tail like a derp. Yeaaaaah! We broke off and then Blue did a crazy thing and left us with bar money. XD Turk ordered two tall Orange Crushes. You can guess how this is going to turn out. We totally had drunk talk about fursuits, art, art styles, and commissions. Was kind of cool. XP Then we luckily bumped into and 
, it was totally time for room party with Cards Against Humanity! There was also pizza and more tasty drinks to be had. Longest buzz/drunk run I've ever had. XP Also got to meet, and play the game with, yuniwolfsky, rummycat, tribalwolffurry(except I already know him, derp), callmeking, and Jinx(who I don't know on FA D:)! Was so much fun, I just wish we could play longer, since I was having a blast. People had events and dances to go to, so things came to a close. Turk and I then went and acted drunk on people for most of the night. It was great. Totally missed an apparent room party in my room and found Tiberius by himself. We all talked for a bit in the room, trying to sober up a bit before committing to sleep. Sleep eventually did come, sooooo tired. XP Oh, and needless to say Turk and I failed in our initial goal for the day. XP
Sunday
Bleeeh, vice's phone kept going off in the morning. Really awesome. Woke up with a very small, creeping headache, which I had felt the night before. I was going to drink some water between drinks the other night to fight it, but Turk said nooooope! Oh well, I think it was mainly because I was really hungry, actually. XP Turk had a total hangover though! Whoops! Anyway, found out that everyone was trying to contact me for breakfast XP, my phone was away from me to charge. Thankfully it wasn't too long and they waited. We then totally went to Wahoo's again because we could and it's amazing. Got back in time to pull our stuff out of the room before checkout. Turk took his belt back though because he had to leave soonish, so no more tail for me. D: Oh well, got everything in the car and then did laps around the con a bit. Then it was definitely time for the Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament! Turk and Blue were able to stay and watch. Gotta admit I was a little anxious, can't help it. XP However, due to time restrictions, the tournament ended up being free-for-all style, single elimination, AND there was an odd number of participants. XP So yeah, some people had to fight in actual free-for-alls and some did not. XD First match for me was against only one other person. XP I believe I caught him off guard and kind of destroyed him as a result. Round two was only a three way instead of four, and was a bit trickier, but I still pulled through. Last match was one on one again. The player was good, but, again, I don't think he was quite prepared. XP He also lost a stock in a stupid way, which I know can drain morale a bit if you can't catch up in time. I used that though and took the final win, I still say it was a good match. Supposedly people were recording and now I want to see it. XD Anyway, I didn't know there were prizes. XP The guy hosting the tournament told me that I could take one of each of the different items they were selling in the game room, since they needed to pack up and they still had loads of stuff left over. XD So I got a Spiderman shirt, a temporary tattoo for some game I've never heard of, a poster for a new game I haven't seen, a gigantic vinyl poster of Hitman(seriously, not even joking, thing's huge, dunno if it'll even fit the height of my wall), and the Xena Warrior Playstation game because boobies, and I didn't want to keep everyone waiting. XD That was great fun though, both watching and playing. It's been forever since I've played in a crowd like that, with all the laughing, cheering, and WTFs. I especially like people's reactions to me playing as ROB. XP Was loads of fun, glad I could participate, though I wouldn't be surprised if a few others despised me for it. XD Anyway, finished up with just enough time for Turk and Blue to get ready for their shuttle to the airport. It was going to be a few minutes, so I put my prizes in the car and we hung out for a bit before Turk had to leave forever again! Nuuuuu! Oh well, until next time. Then Tiberius, Snowdog, MrWolf, and I went to the panel asking if furries really do ruin everything. It was funny because that was the first and only panel I went to the entire con. XP Was kind of interesting, I suppose. A time killer, anyway. I was kind of planning on derping around the con space for the remainder of the day until things completely died down, but Tiberius and Snowdog had errands to run! Lame! Oh well, looked like quite a few people were leaving early anyway, but managed to say goodbye to a fair amount of people before heading off.

Overall, this con was a total blast, just like I thought it would be. I know some people don't always enjoy Califur because it's kind of a small con and a short weekend(not many events), but I say to hell with that! I like Califur because I get to hang out with all my friends for an entire weekend, we found our own things to do and had an awesome time doing them. Don't need no events for me to have a good time. Nope. I'm easy like that, and I'm really glad I could go to Califur again. Totally worth it. You'll see me there again next year.
And, of course, here's my obligatory congratulatory message to anyone who managed to read all the way down here. Like always, I hope it was atleast mildly entertaining to read through. XP Was a good time experiencing it, and a fun time recollecting on it.

XP Sooo, we decided to order pizza, but didn't have the number. XD Went down to the front desk to get it, then called and had to give the address and such, which we didn't know off hand. Poor Jfoxx... But everything got sorted out and we totally had pizza and watched the end of the first Harry Potter movie on tv lol. Perfect! Then it was tail time! Headed to 
queenkayara's room in order to get my tail, and totally high-fived 
thatkrazyk9 like 10 times because she's awesome. Loooove that tail by the way, really happy with it and it is so soft. Anyway, they were going to the dance, so Turk and I went back to my room in order to put my tail on, had to borrow Turk's belt XP, and eventually headed down there with Blue and bounced around for a little bit. Then I wowed Turk with some poi stuff, once I found enough space for it. XP Blue slipped off, then eventually Turk and I left as well. It was so much fun, though. We were almost immediately flagged by serv, who was with a very derpy 
. Totally drunk fursuiting. XP It was kind of adorable. We followed Serv around a bit while he made obscene gestures to people behind their backs with his tail, got caught in some random drunk people's photo, and headed back up to their room to desuit and "recharge." Buuut it turned out that nobody had alcohol, and everyone in my room was being all lame and asleep! It was like 11pm! Whatever. XP The four us headed back down, but not before be stopped by hotel staff. Guess some people were complaining about screaming and loudness, so we got a brief interrogation. Awesome. :P Found both 
and 
, they tagged along with us. We hung out and chatted around some fire pit near the pool until people started branching off. Serv and Audi mingled with a larger group of friends and Turk and I got really tired. We broke off and headed to bed for the night. Saturday
Woke up in the morning and actually had time to get ready for once. XP So, did that and met up with Turk. We were planning on finding people to have breakfast with, but Blue drank too much, and it seemed like people were either asleep or had early breakfast. XP We walked around a bit more, found nobody to go with, so we just went back up to my room. Luckily Tiberius and Snowdog were awake at the time and agreed to go with us to have more of those amazing burritos we had last year at Wahoo's! Sooooo good. Fat otter. We got back and did more meandering! Tiberius had us try his crazy drink that had 151 in it! Waaaay too strong. I had Midori and Sprite instead. XP Sooo many fursuits around too! Turk and I then made it our goal to find some friends to bum suits off of for the night. Yup. Checked out the artists in the Artist's Alley, really like
's art style, then bumped into , who was actually getting a badge from her. XP Also got to meet 
, who showed an awesome animation he was working on, and 
. We chatted for a bit in the hall, all really friendly people. :3 But then Turk and I were totally sold on getting badges from Nicoface. XP So, we totally did! Walked around some more, poked my clone 
in the Dealer's Den, then eventually wandered back and got Turk's badge. Which is sooo grood. Great and good. We were thinking of things to do while waiting for mine, then bumped into a fursuiter called Shadow Puppy, I think XP, who was totally stoked about the idea of drinking. So he agreed to go along with a drinking adventure, as in we piled into his truck and headed off to find a liquor store! Turk bought something called 99 Bananas and also got some 7-up. Totally drove past a crazy looking car accident on the way back. Ambulances, fire trucks, police, everything. It was pretty serious... Dunno what happened though. Back at Turk's room, we busted out the 99 Bananas and totally had some awesome drank. Strong, but doesn't taste strong, my favorite. XP Broke off from Shadow and went to go get my badge, which was so much more awesome than I thought it would be. I love it. We were alone again, so we went looking for people! Also Turk wanted to film stuff. We found Lockford again and filmed him! Yeah! Then he took the camera and we eventually just ended up back in Turk's room. XP We decided to polish off the rest of the 99 Bananas, which may or may not have been a good thing. XD Wiggly otters again! We bumbled around downstairs and found and 
, who were actually heading back to their room in order to drink. XP So, naturally, we followed them! Oh man, kind of wish I had went sooner, Sammichez made an amazing margarita and some other amazing coconut smoothie alcohol drink thing that tasted like samoas. Drunk otters now. XP I was totally hugging my tail like a derp. Yeaaaaah! We broke off and then Blue did a crazy thing and left us with bar money. XD Turk ordered two tall Orange Crushes. You can guess how this is going to turn out. We totally had drunk talk about fursuits, art, art styles, and commissions. Was kind of cool. XP Then we luckily bumped into and 
, it was totally time for room party with Cards Against Humanity! There was also pizza and more tasty drinks to be had. Longest buzz/drunk run I've ever had. XP Also got to meet, and play the game with, yuniwolfsky, rummycat, tribalwolffurry(except I already know him, derp), callmeking, and Jinx(who I don't know on FA D:)! Was so much fun, I just wish we could play longer, since I was having a blast. People had events and dances to go to, so things came to a close. Turk and I then went and acted drunk on people for most of the night. It was great. Totally missed an apparent room party in my room and found Tiberius by himself. We all talked for a bit in the room, trying to sober up a bit before committing to sleep. Sleep eventually did come, sooooo tired. XP Oh, and needless to say Turk and I failed in our initial goal for the day. XPSunday
Bleeeh, vice's phone kept going off in the morning. Really awesome. Woke up with a very small, creeping headache, which I had felt the night before. I was going to drink some water between drinks the other night to fight it, but Turk said nooooope! Oh well, I think it was mainly because I was really hungry, actually. XP Turk had a total hangover though! Whoops! Anyway, found out that everyone was trying to contact me for breakfast XP, my phone was away from me to charge. Thankfully it wasn't too long and they waited. We then totally went to Wahoo's again because we could and it's amazing. Got back in time to pull our stuff out of the room before checkout. Turk took his belt back though because he had to leave soonish, so no more tail for me. D: Oh well, got everything in the car and then did laps around the con a bit. Then it was definitely time for the Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament! Turk and Blue were able to stay and watch. Gotta admit I was a little anxious, can't help it. XP However, due to time restrictions, the tournament ended up being free-for-all style, single elimination, AND there was an odd number of participants. XP So yeah, some people had to fight in actual free-for-alls and some did not. XD First match for me was against only one other person. XP I believe I caught him off guard and kind of destroyed him as a result. Round two was only a three way instead of four, and was a bit trickier, but I still pulled through. Last match was one on one again. The player was good, but, again, I don't think he was quite prepared. XP He also lost a stock in a stupid way, which I know can drain morale a bit if you can't catch up in time. I used that though and took the final win, I still say it was a good match. Supposedly people were recording and now I want to see it. XD Anyway, I didn't know there were prizes. XP The guy hosting the tournament told me that I could take one of each of the different items they were selling in the game room, since they needed to pack up and they still had loads of stuff left over. XD So I got a Spiderman shirt, a temporary tattoo for some game I've never heard of, a poster for a new game I haven't seen, a gigantic vinyl poster of Hitman(seriously, not even joking, thing's huge, dunno if it'll even fit the height of my wall), and the Xena Warrior Playstation game because boobies, and I didn't want to keep everyone waiting. XD That was great fun though, both watching and playing. It's been forever since I've played in a crowd like that, with all the laughing, cheering, and WTFs. I especially like people's reactions to me playing as ROB. XP Was loads of fun, glad I could participate, though I wouldn't be surprised if a few others despised me for it. XD Anyway, finished up with just enough time for Turk and Blue to get ready for their shuttle to the airport. It was going to be a few minutes, so I put my prizes in the car and we hung out for a bit before Turk had to leave forever again! Nuuuuu! Oh well, until next time. Then Tiberius, Snowdog, MrWolf, and I went to the panel asking if furries really do ruin everything. It was funny because that was the first and only panel I went to the entire con. XP Was kind of interesting, I suppose. A time killer, anyway. I was kind of planning on derping around the con space for the remainder of the day until things completely died down, but Tiberius and Snowdog had errands to run! Lame! Oh well, looked like quite a few people were leaving early anyway, but managed to say goodbye to a fair amount of people before heading off.

Overall, this con was a total blast, just like I thought it would be. I know some people don't always enjoy Califur because it's kind of a small con and a short weekend(not many events), but I say to hell with that! I like Califur because I get to hang out with all my friends for an entire weekend, we found our own things to do and had an awesome time doing them. Don't need no events for me to have a good time. Nope. I'm easy like that, and I'm really glad I could go to Califur again. Totally worth it. You'll see me there again next year.
And, of course, here's my obligatory congratulatory message to anyone who managed to read all the way down here. Like always, I hope it was atleast mildly entertaining to read through. XP Was a good time experiencing it, and a fun time recollecting on it.

1. I used to be pretty afraid of driving, to the point I'd have nightmares of driving off the road or my brakes not working. I've gotten better, I actually quite enjoy driving now(just wish it didn't cost moneeeey), but for some reason I still have those reoccurring dreams every so often. I don't know why, and it kind of bugs me.
2. I am currently learning how to spin poi. Those are essentially LED sticks on strings. Very pretty. I'm not that great at it yet. XP
3. I have a small pile of games that I haven't even touched yet because between school and drawing, what little time I have left I like to spend on friends or games that easily kill time, like multiplayer games. I'll get to them someday.
4. I now have a small shrine in the corner of my room with all my current badges and sculptures of my character. I imagine it'll continue to grow over time.
5. I worry about a lot of things. All the time. Mostly little things. It's not usually so bad that they keep me up at night or anything, but you'd be hard-pressed to find me at a time where something wasn't on my mind, and what kind of ramifications could happen involving what I'm thinking about. It's happening right now as I type this.
6. I always try to find the good in other people, but when it comes right down to it, I always find it really easy to put myself down. Funny how that works, heh.
I'M going to stay bedridden, which means I infect NOBODY! Haaaa! Unless you wanted to come visit me, I suppose, but then it's your own fault and you might as well be asking to repost this. Soooo, do what you like!

Further Confusion 2013: Another Furry Chapter for Jazz
General | Posted 13 years agoFINALLY got some time to right up a con journal for FC. Longest I had ever been at a con, but man was it fun! Looks like I'm going to try and make a tradition out of this: journals recollecting what I can remember through the convention! Feel free to read through, it may be long though.
Wednesday
That's right! I got to the convention Wednesday evening. XP 7ish hour drive up and I picked up serv on the way. He was the main reason I left on that day. He had to meet up with his otter unition! So yeah, really long drive, but I think we did alright in keeping each other entertained for most of it. Except when it started getting dark and I had to cross through the mountains and Serv was napping! Scary! So we get there at like 8pm and kind of just pick the first parking lot available... which was really expensive. Whatever! We grab most of out stuff and head up to the room number in the Marriott and knock... nobody answers. Serv tries to call his roommates and we sit for a while waiting, then we find out the room is in the Hilton. XP Walk through the entire convention center! We finally get in and I got to meet Uni, marfles, and azlanfiretail. Canada furs! They're all pretty cool people, glad I could meet them. We settled in the room for a bit, then I headed back down with Serv so he could get the rest of his stuff. We come back out of the parking garage and a security guard stops us. Turns out there is a crazy looking guy stumbling around and mumbling in front of the entrance to the Marriott holding a large plastic bag in front of him. The guard said he has been around every night and been harassing girls walking by. Eventually we managed to get by with the guard, dunno what happened to the guy after that. Not much to do after dropping the rest of the stuff off, so we got food and hung out outside while a couple people smoked. Got to meet 
mikau during that! Cool guy. After meandering for a bit, we headed back to the room and decided to sleep for tomorrow.
Thursday
Slept in because it was the first day of the con! Headed down with Serv and Uni to get breakfast, then we all poked around the shopping area. Serv got a new hat and skateboard! When we headed back Serv kind of got sucked into a group of a bunch of people I didn't know, so eventually I sneaked off to the reg line, since I recall seeing halon, 
raket, and jfoxxsuiting playing cards against humanity in the front of the line when I walked past earlier. Watched them play for a little bit and then kind of just wiggled into line because I COULD. Yup. Didn't feel like waiting all day, which is how long it would have taken because they could only take four people in a time. Got that done and then met up with a very drunk tiberiuswolf. XP We hung out for a little bit and then headed to opening ceremonies. After that we got free food! Chilled in Tiberius' room after that, met 
scruffythefox, and had a few drinks while watching silly youtube videos. I couldn't get a hold of Serv... who was pretty much my only access to the room, so after a while Tiberius just let me crash in his room.
Friday
Slept in a little bit, then headed to the Dealer's Den! Haha, it was only Friday and I ordered a Derp from
painteddog, a badge from 
likeshine, some prints from 
, which got me another badge, and a grey otter version of those bandanimals! I love it, and pretty much wore it for the rest of the convention. Tried to get a hold of Serv again because I needed to move my stuff to the new room. XP No such luck, so eventually Tiberius and I just went to Uncle Kage and 2's Story Hour. Guess I should have expected it, but I had heard most of what Kage had to say at Megaplex. XP Oh well, was still funny overall. After that eventually I kind of broke off from Tiberius because I was trying to get room things settled. XP I figured Serv might be a bit more responsive at night, so I switched tactics and tried to get my new room key first and I would just move my stuff when I was able. Texted 
and told her where I was. Spun my poi badly to guide her. XP Got the room key, finally got a hold of Serv, and then finally transferred my stuff to the new room. Headed back down to the lobby and got food with Tiberius, Halon(who had just got his partial, which was awesome), and . I felt like being silly and zipped up my hoodie and placed my otter bandana over it to become Otter Fett! lol. Once we got back and broke off, I stumbled upon 
! He was heading down to catch the end of the dance competition, so I followed him there, which was pretty cool to watch! After that was the regular dance, where I was hoping to meet someone. XP Turns out he fell asleep. Anyway, eventually just went in myself and found Lockford. I spun poi for a little bit, Tiberius showed up, then I bounced around to the music for the remainder of the night. Oh! And I got to see 
spin poi in suit! That was really cool to watch. Got tired after a while and hung back, watching the dancers and spinners. Makes me want to practice! Everyone kind of drifted off after that and I was alone XP ... So decided to check out the new room and chill before doing anything else. Buuuut 
, my other roommate, was already asleep. Thought it might be awkward and annoying to be in and out, so I kind of laid in bed for a little bit before just going to bed.
Saturday
Woke up alone in the room! MrWolf, guy I was trying to meet last night, was texting me where he was. So I headed down with Tiberius to the end of the Live Animal Panel thing, talking about lemurs! Finally bumped into him after the panel and the three of us headed to the Dealer's Den again! I picked up my adorable badge from Likeshine! Looked at some other stuff, then went and got breakfast. We got back in time to watch the fursuit parade! Can't wait to be part of that. XP I think my favorite part was the rainbow/crayon group of furs, so cool! After that... it was time to BRAWL. Found out that MrWolf plays too and I got really excited, they were going to have a tournament. We headed in a little early and saw people doing free for alls, MrWolf jumped in for one... and then they announced that the tournament was starting. Uhh, where were the signups? XP Nobody said anything when we walked in and there were no signs... oh well, so we couldn't enter the tournament. You don't even know how badly I wanted to play while watching the tournament... it was painful. Oh! And a fursuiter won the tournament, didn't even take off his head or paws. I can't find him on FA though! His badge said Totem and he was a brown canine, maybe a coyote? But yeah, he actually looked pretty good, even in fursuit. MrWolf wanted to play him one on one and so did I. XP He was luckier than me, but I did get a free for all round with him in it and won, but those don't count! Was bummed about missing the tournament, but being able to play was still fun. MrWolf had to head off and it was time for the otter party anyway! The room was a lot smaller than I thought, and funnily enough I didn't see too many otters. XP was making delicious sushi though! I got to meet 
, he's a pretty cool guy! Eventually showed up with , so I got to meet him too! was there too! Yay meeting other otters! Otters noticed I wasn't drinking, so TJ made me a drink that smell strongly of alcohol, but didn't taste it. XP And it was blue! Hung out for a bit and then Raishiin invited me to his room when the otter party started dieing down. He took me to the Gay Party or something, where they were making tasty drinks corresponding to the different otter pop colors! I got a blue one. Then went up to Raishiin's room and had way too many glasses of rum and coke while looking at naughty comics. I got drunk. XP Got the sudden urge to text . A lot. So I did! Much to his amusement, I'm sure. XP Drunk texts! When I knew it wouldn't be wise to drink anymore, I stumbled down with Raishiin to the dance. Seriously couldn't walk straight, I would say random things and make random sounds. XP Watched the people dancing and spinning again. No way I was moving that much. XP Besides, I was too busy texting Tek! Once I started sobering up I realized that I was STARVING. Was still a little wobbly, but met up with Tiberius and MrWolf and got food. After that we hung out for way to long and I went to bed at like 5am. XP
Sunday
Tried to get up semi-early, since I found out it was the last day for the Dealer's Den. Headed over with Raishiin and Takum and picked up my badge from Rukis. Then Takum and I ordered badges from idess. XP MrWolf showed up! More Food! Tiberius showed up! Raishiin skittered off and once we got back Takum wanted to suit again, so we broke off and then met up again later. I wanted to see Takum play Brawl in suit, so we headed into the game lounge again, but only one tv had Brawl on it this time and it was pretty full. MrWolf and I eventually got to sneak in, but Takum was left out and I felt bad! He went to the headless lounge and eventually back to his room. MrWolf and I played some more Brawl, Tiberius rejoined us, and then we got invited to Takum's room party! Moooore drinking. Everyone got all comfy and one of the drinks I had tasted like a jolly rancher. Just thought I'd mention that. Didn't get as drunk as the other night, which kind of surprised me, but I was definitely wiggly. Seemed to sober up quickly though. Was fun overall! The party died down and we all decided to head to our separate rooms, since I had to leave the next day. XP
Monday
Not much to say about this day! Got up, got my stuff together, met up with MrWolf, share, and fantasee. Was trying to give Serv as much time as I could, since he rarely gets to see his otter, but eventually we all had to leave. Drive back took WAY longer than I thought it would lol, but everyone got back to where they needed to be. Except Serv left his phone in my car even after I asked if he had it with him while getting out! Awesome! I don't think I want to be the driver for a carpool like that again, or atleast not with that many people. XP Didn't get home TOO late though, so it's alright.

Wednesday
That's right! I got to the convention Wednesday evening. XP 7ish hour drive up and I picked up
serv on the way. He was the main reason I left on that day. He had to meet up with his otter unition! So yeah, really long drive, but I think we did alright in keeping each other entertained for most of it. Except when it started getting dark and I had to cross through the mountains and Serv was napping! Scary! So we get there at like 8pm and kind of just pick the first parking lot available... which was really expensive. Whatever! We grab most of out stuff and head up to the room number in the Marriott and knock... nobody answers. Serv tries to call his roommates and we sit for a while waiting, then we find out the room is in the Hilton. XP Walk through the entire convention center! We finally get in and I got to meet Uni, marfles, and azlanfiretail. Canada furs! They're all pretty cool people, glad I could meet them. We settled in the room for a bit, then I headed back down with Serv so he could get the rest of his stuff. We come back out of the parking garage and a security guard stops us. Turns out there is a crazy looking guy stumbling around and mumbling in front of the entrance to the Marriott holding a large plastic bag in front of him. The guard said he has been around every night and been harassing girls walking by. Eventually we managed to get by with the guard, dunno what happened to the guy after that. Not much to do after dropping the rest of the stuff off, so we got food and hung out outside while a couple people smoked. Got to meet 
mikau during that! Cool guy. After meandering for a bit, we headed back to the room and decided to sleep for tomorrow.Thursday
Slept in because it was the first day of the con! Headed down with Serv and Uni to get breakfast, then we all poked around the shopping area. Serv got a new hat and skateboard! When we headed back Serv kind of got sucked into a group of a bunch of people I didn't know, so eventually I sneaked off to the reg line, since I recall seeing
halon, 
raket, and jfoxxsuiting playing cards against humanity in the front of the line when I walked past earlier. Watched them play for a little bit and then kind of just wiggled into line because I COULD. Yup. Didn't feel like waiting all day, which is how long it would have taken because they could only take four people in a time. Got that done and then met up with a very drunk tiberiuswolf. XP We hung out for a little bit and then headed to opening ceremonies. After that we got free food! Chilled in Tiberius' room after that, met 
scruffythefox, and had a few drinks while watching silly youtube videos. I couldn't get a hold of Serv... who was pretty much my only access to the room, so after a while Tiberius just let me crash in his room.Friday
Slept in a little bit, then headed to the Dealer's Den! Haha, it was only Friday and I ordered a Derp from

, which got me another badge, and a grey otter version of those bandanimals! I love it, and pretty much wore it for the rest of the convention. Tried to get a hold of Serv again because I needed to move my stuff to the new room. XP No such luck, so eventually Tiberius and I just went to Uncle Kage and 2's Story Hour. Guess I should have expected it, but I had heard most of what Kage had to say at Megaplex. XP Oh well, was still funny overall. After that eventually I kind of broke off from Tiberius because I was trying to get room things settled. XP I figured Serv might be a bit more responsive at night, so I switched tactics and tried to get my new room key first and I would just move my stuff when I was able. Texted 
and told her where I was. Spun my poi badly to guide her. XP Got the room key, finally got a hold of Serv, and then finally transferred my stuff to the new room. Headed back down to the lobby and got food with Tiberius, Halon(who had just got his partial, which was awesome), and . I felt like being silly and zipped up my hoodie and placed my otter bandana over it to become Otter Fett! lol. Once we got back and broke off, I stumbled upon 
! He was heading down to catch the end of the dance competition, so I followed him there, which was pretty cool to watch! After that was the regular dance, where I was hoping to meet someone. XP Turns out he fell asleep. Anyway, eventually just went in myself and found Lockford. I spun poi for a little bit, Tiberius showed up, then I bounced around to the music for the remainder of the night. Oh! And I got to see

Hope you all had an atleast better than average day, no matter who you ended up spending it with. I like spending time with family, so it's been a cool couple days for me.
But there is something even more awesome!
will be coming down to visit on the 28th! You don't even know how excited I am for that. He'll be here for a little over a week, which makes me a happy otter.
Oh, and if you didn't already guess, my latest semester at school has ended, waiting to see my grades! Sorry about the further delay on commissions though, I was working on a Christmas picture for my family, which I may post later, and now the holidays have kept me away from my main computer. Tek coming by will probably delay them even more XP but I WILL finish them, sorry if the wait is kind of lame.
Hah, though I'm not sure how you feel about it after hearing that, I'm still taking more commission slots in here, if interested. To be honest, they'll probably be open for pretty much as long as I'm capable of drawing. They're fun! So don't be shy!

But yeah, it's already been another year. I just became older than OLD: 23. Practically prehistoric. This is also around the time when I first started talking to Tek, heh. Time flies.
