Megaplex 2012: Jazz's Furry Adventure Continues
General | Posted 13 years agoOh yes, indeed! Still with Tek, but we were at Megaplex all weekend! Totally different experience than Califur, but I still had a blast! Let's see if I can catalogue what I remember for your reading pleasure, if you really want to know anyway. XP
Thursday
Got to the con Thursday evening because Tek's friend,
, was planning on using his DJ equipment for his set later that night. We didn't go to the bowling, instead we dropped our stuff off in the headless lounge, got our badges, and walked around the hotel a bit to familiarize ourselves with the area. Then Tek decided to suit up. He did so and we headed to the dance room, where another one of Tek's friends, 
, was playing his set. Then we kind of hung out, walked back and forth, and "danced" every once in a while for the rest of the night. Highlight of the night was Tek spinning his LED sticks while in suit, which was really cool to watch. Got a really crappy picture of that. XP Then I got to meet 
and 
, who are both incredibly awesome people. Got food, then got back as Takum was finishing up(even though he ended up not using Tek's equipment because of issues), and we all headed up to our rooms for bed. We were bumming a room for just Thursday night, since our original roommates were only in for Friday through Sunday, but... Tek and I ended up taking a little too long to get back. Turns out everyone in the room was already asleep. Luckily Tek had the number of one of them and he woke up from a text, but that meant that we didn't really have a say in where we slept. We had to take the floor... which was tiled. Yay! We snuggled up as best we could with the extra sheets and got some sleep though.
Friday
Tek woke up at like 7:30am or something and decided to just stay up instead of trying to get back to sleep, since it wasn't easy in the first place. I stayed and napped for another hour, which was a HUGE mistake because Tek went and got food and I was kind of left without breakfast because I didn't want to go out by myself or something. XP Oh well. Met up with Tek in time for opening ceremonies, which were cool! Walked around a bit, then went back to the main hall and peeked at the "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grade Fur" thing. Tek left and went to a different panel, where he learned how to be a D.I.C.K. Tek suited up again after and we went to a fursuiting panel explaining the basics of fursuiting and spotting, which was actually pretty informative. Tek even got a mentor person! First hand experience, he told him how to walk, how to act around the kids in the lobby, and all that right off the bat. That was fun and Tek got his first picture with children. XP More walking and talking. We took a short break and I added my first sketch to my sketchbook just to act as a little cover page. Carried that around a bit, but it didn't get anymore attention. That evening was the pool party! Got free carrot cake and pie, then went swimming. Soooo much fun, even though the DJ was horrible! A giant beach ball was thrown in and was tossed around the pool and eventually
brought out Fenris, his giant inflatable wolf and set it on the water. Quite a few people tried to ride on top of Fenris, only a few were able to stay on without falling into the pool. XP Did that until it got dark, then got dry for Uncle Kage's Story Hour! My first time, and I was so glad I got watch, really entertaining. Then I FINALLY got "real" food lol, where we joked about Slenderman and stuff while eating delicious pancakes. Hung out for a little bit more afterward, but wanted to try and get some sleep in because the fursuit parade was the next day. The bed was a lot better than the tile, but the room was kept too warm and the bed was trying to sabotage me. I kept sliding near the edge, too nervous to let Tek know, who was right beside me. XP Not much sleep again, oh well!
Saturday
Was finally starting to relax when there was a knock on our door at 8am, the fursuit parade line up wasn't until 11am. One of our roommates had fallen asleep in someone else's room and was back for his suit. One of Tek's friends was with him and was extremely persistant on getting a picture of Tek in suit with Argus before the parade, even though it was hours away. Sooo, Tek got up and I was dead tired. I rested a little longer once he left and then just got up and took a shower, it helped a bit. Went down and met up with Tek, who is hard to miss while in suit XP, a bit before he had to get ready for the parade, so we hung out in the headless lounge. He headed into the main hall and I picked a spot for the parade, near Yuchi and Izzy. I had Tek's phone and I recorded the entire first pass of the parade, though in retrospect I suppose I should have kept recording, because a lot of people apparently slipped in during the second half as the fursuiters turned around and headed back for the main hall. XP Was still nice though. Had more food, then went to the Improv panel by Puck! Can't deny that I was a little nervous, since I figured it would be interactive(and it was), but Puck made it really entertaining and it was really fun just to be silly with everyone. At some point I played some Brawl in the game room and made some people gape at me a bit. XP Kaiza was there too and he got to see! Was fun though. I ordered a badge from
and it is mega adorable! I'll probably post that eventually. Then something really random happened! Tek, in suit, and I were walking back to our room through the main lobby and a small child stood in front of us, grinning. We stopped, naturally, and Tek kneeled down as the kid held out his hand. Tek gently took it as if to shake his hand, but the kid slipped out of his grip and proceeded to casually flip him off. It was a knee-high kid, probably like... seven years old or something, just flipped Tek off in public. Nobody really did anything as he ran back to his parents. So... yeah, whatever. Food! Then that took too long and we had to bribe the security guy to let us in to see the last half of Julie Bunny Must Die, which was still really well done! After that was JR's Standup, which was really funny. Not much else to do after that, so we walked around and stumbled upon a large group of people playing Cards Against Humanity. Never heard of it, but it looks like the adult version of Apples to Apples and a really, really funny game to play with a bunch of friends. We didn't jump in, but it was still really fun to watch the compete randomness. Then we headed back up to the room, got comfortable, and... one of our roommates was carried into the room, shivering, by three people. He was beyond drunk. So beyond drunk that he had to have his stomach pumped apparently. He was set on the other bed and we all had to watch over him for a while until he calmed down. Eventually he fell asleep and we were able to do the same, quite an experience. Oh! I also got to meet 
! She's amazing and that was soooo cool. Yup!
Sunday
Alright, strange morning. I kept waking up to the sound of an air pump, but fell back asleep. Tek wanted to get up early for the fursuit games, but I suppose he was having trouble sleeping, since we both just stayed in bed... until one of our roommates told us we needed to be out of the room in 30 minutes, and the room was now covered in inflatables, which all had to be deflated in that time frame as well. We couldn't get out of the bed. Thankfully the hotel staff allowed a generous amount of extra time and we were able to get everything out in time without any overages, but it was stil a bit frustrating that that had to happen at all. Atleast it turned out fine. Had breakfast, then walked around a bit more, talked with people. Saw some adorable buttons by
and we could get custom ones as well, so Tek and I snatched some! It was kind of a collaborative deal, so I got my button done by the artist who was sitting next to him and I'm horrible and now can't remember who that was! FFFFF, anybody know? Was at the far end of the dealer's room, doing adorable buttons. Anyway, hung around a bit, then went to Puck's magic show, where Tek burned a one hundred dollar bill and it was all very amusing. I like Puck. After that was the live Funday Pawpet Show! Yay! They interviewed the guests of honor and did a lot of silly stuff, I love the Pawpets. Unfortunately, after that we had to start fixing to head out, Tek had to get ready for class the next day. Said our goodbyes to everyone we could and then left the con.
Overall, I had a really good time with this con, even though half the time I was super jealous because most of the time I was surrounded by Tek and his friends, who all had fursuits! Daaaamn, I want mine. Was still a really fun convention though and I'm glad I could go, especially with Tek.

because he's awesome and he was around most of the time as well, just didn't really know where to place him. Like I said in the previous con journal, if you talked to me, than you're awesome. Even if you're not on here, it's always a pleasure to meet someone new! If you managed to read through this whole thing, then congratulations, that's most of what happened during the weekend. Hope it wasn't too boring to read through!

General | Posted 13 years agoYup! I'm going on a trip this Thursday, July 19th, to Florida until August 4th so I can finally see ! I'm pretty damn excited about it, if you had any doubt.
But!
That's not the only thing. On Sunday, July 22nd, Tek and I will be appearing on the Funday Pawpet Show! Tek'll probably have his fursuit and we'll see what happens. So, if you're a fan of the show, you should see us then. If you haven't seen them before, they air almost every Sunday from 6pm EST to 10pm EST.

And there's another thing! There's a chance we'll both be attending Megaplex in the coming weeks. I'd post a meme or something, but it looks like things are a little up in the air at the moment. I'm hoping though! If we do end up there, be on the look out for a blue otter, that's Tek. XP You can bet I'll probably be sticking to him like glue, so you can find me that way, if you like. If he's not in suit, might be a little harder to spot. I'll have my Ifus badge with me and it's kind of large, so I guess you could look for that. No idea what we'll be doing though, walking around randomly or something!
Regardless, really looking forward to the next two weeks. I'm sure it'll be really nice. Not sure how often I'll be on the internet, considering I don't have a laptop, but I'll see what can be done about updates and such. See you guys around!

Steam Group!
General | Posted 13 years agoAlright, Califur was awesome and I hope my little story was atleast somewhat entertaining, but I'm assuming at this point anyone who cared to read about it has already done so(and it's not going anywhere if you still want to XP).
So!
and I made a Steam group and we want people to join, be friendly, and play games! Just have a good time, possibly do things outside the Steam group! We don't know yet! Here's what Turk posted:
"We're starting a group!! We're starting a gaming group on steam. We need some people who want to play with us. We're going to be playing a lot of multiplayer games and only those who are LFG (looking for group) should respond to this. There are too many people who say, "ADD ME!! :DD" and never respond to any game invites and whatnot. WITH THAT SAID.. who here wants to play some video games and be all excited about an awesome group that wants to help people make friends!? We've got two awesome admins who are friendly and talkative and who can help introduce you to some people if you're the shy type. We'd love to have all of you join and play together in some grand ol' FPS battleground fun!!

I'm willing to make this a fun and social thing.

Califur 2012: Jazz's First Furry Con Adventure!
General | Posted 13 years agoYup! I got off my butt and decided to go to Califur this year! My first furry con and I had sooooo much fun! Seriously, really awesome weekend for sure. I could probably go over everything that happened, but let's see how much I can condense it:
Friday
Got to the con in the afternoon and was immediately stalked by! Got to meet him and 
for the first time in person right as I got out of the car. Stuck to Turk like glue after that. Got registered, then meandered around the Dealers Den and the halls of the hotel while Turk talked con stuff to me. Fursuiters! Morph Suits! Yeah! Met back up with Blue and some of his friends and walked out for dinner of the Mexican food variety. Got back, had my first Long Island Iced Tea. XP Then hung out in Turk's room before another first for me: going to a dance! Haven't really danced before either, so I kind of just stomped around to the beat. My pants weren't cooperating with me though, until Turk gave me his belt. XP Was still a ton of fun though, even though Turk said the music sucked. Turk and Blue crashed after that, so I met up with a very drunk 
and 
. Followed them around for a bit until Halon passed out in Jfoxx's room, then I went back to my room and tried to sleep, but couldn't. XP
Saturday
Got like 2 hours of sleep and Turk "woke" me up for breakfast! Ate food, then joined Blue and hung out in a corner by Starbucks where we started doodling on coasters or something. All three of us drew an otter.
showed up, acted all cute, then poked Turk with his feesh. We took our doodles and posted them on the board in the hallway, then headed back into the Dealers Den because I wanted to buy something. 
was making adorable inkblot badges! I got one for me and Turk because he totally needed one and didn't want to buy it himself. Went back to Turk's room to hang out and watch videos until our badges were done. Grabbed the adorableness after that! Love that badge! Walked around a bit, then played the longest game of Chinese Checkers ever! Just let Turk win after a while. Then had a way too expensive dinner and sat at the bar for a bit, more doodling. Back at Turk's room and got to see 's fursuit on Skype, which he had just got that day! Fursuit shenanigans, then I got to talk to him and show off our badges for a good portion of the night, which was nice. Then we watched and laughed at wrestling on tv, it was really bad. XP Then Turk and Blue crashed again. I went and met up with Halon again, but he was tired too and he had to get up early. Chatted for a bit in the lobby, then something really odd happened. One of the ceiling panels nearby came undone on one corner, releasing a moderately sized stream of water onto a poor, defenseless chair just below it. Then the entire panel collapsed and out fell one of those painting tray things. I guess someone above had a sizeable leak and thought shoving that under it would stop it... until it overflowed anyway, and subsequently fell through the floor. I spotted 
walking around, so once Halon crashed I went out looking for him, since we wanted to meet. Found him stumbling around in fursuit with Mystery Otter, shoved my badge in his face and got a hug from him and Mystery Otter. Followed them around a bit and bumped into 
! We talked about Tek for a few minutes. XP Then I continued following Serv, but I was dead tired due to lack of sleep, so I kind of just drifted to my room instead of shadowing him around. Then I crashed on the floor. XP
Sunday
Turk woke me up early again for breakfast! Went down and met him, but didn't eat right away. Walked around some more, giggled at PORN AND DILDOS! Then piled into a car and went to IHOP for brunch or whatever. Food. Got back with just enough time to hang out in the lobby before Turk had to leave me forever! Oh no! Serv showed up and got to meet Turk and Blue, then I got to roam around with Serv's group once Turk left. We went and got pizza, then hung around in the lobby for the remainder of my time there. Doodles and sketchbooks were involved.

Friday
Got to the con in the afternoon and was immediately stalked by
! Got to meet him and 
for the first time in person right as I got out of the car. Stuck to Turk like glue after that. Got registered, then meandered around the Dealers Den and the halls of the hotel while Turk talked con stuff to me. Fursuiters! Morph Suits! Yeah! Met back up with Blue and some of his friends and walked out for dinner of the Mexican food variety. Got back, had my first Long Island Iced Tea. XP Then hung out in Turk's room before another first for me: going to a dance! Haven't really danced before either, so I kind of just stomped around to the beat. My pants weren't cooperating with me though, until Turk gave me his belt. XP Was still a ton of fun though, even though Turk said the music sucked. Turk and Blue crashed after that, so I met up with a very drunk 
and 
. Followed them around for a bit until Halon passed out in Jfoxx's room, then I went back to my room and tried to sleep, but couldn't. XPSaturday
Got like 2 hours of sleep and Turk "woke" me up for breakfast! Ate food, then joined Blue and hung out in a corner by Starbucks where we started doodling on coasters or something. All three of us drew an otter.
showed up, acted all cute, then poked Turk with his feesh. We took our doodles and posted them on the board in the hallway, then headed back into the Dealers Den because I wanted to buy something. 
was making adorable inkblot badges! I got one for me and Turk because he totally needed one and didn't want to buy it himself. Went back to Turk's room to hang out and watch videos until our badges were done. Grabbed the adorableness after that! Love that badge! Walked around a bit, then played the longest game of Chinese Checkers ever! Just let Turk win after a while. Then had a way too expensive dinner and sat at the bar for a bit, more doodling. Back at Turk's room and got to see 's fursuit on Skype, which he had just got that day! Fursuit shenanigans, then I got to talk to him and show off our badges for a good portion of the night, which was nice. Then we watched and laughed at wrestling on tv, it was really bad. XP Then Turk and Blue crashed again. I went and met up with Halon again, but he was tired too and he had to get up early. Chatted for a bit in the lobby, then something really odd happened. One of the ceiling panels nearby came undone on one corner, releasing a moderately sized stream of water onto a poor, defenseless chair just below it. Then the entire panel collapsed and out fell one of those painting tray things. I guess someone above had a sizeable leak and thought shoving that under it would stop it... until it overflowed anyway, and subsequently fell through the floor. I spotted 
walking around, so once Halon crashed I went out looking for him, since we wanted to meet. Found him stumbling around in fursuit with Mystery Otter, shoved my badge in his face and got a hug from him and Mystery Otter. Followed them around a bit and bumped into 
! We talked about Tek for a few minutes. XP Then I continued following Serv, but I was dead tired due to lack of sleep, so I kind of just drifted to my room instead of shadowing him around. Then I crashed on the floor. XPSunday
Turk woke me up early again for breakfast! Went down and met him, but didn't eat right away. Walked around some more, giggled at PORN AND DILDOS! Then piled into a car and went to IHOP for brunch or whatever. Food. Got back with just enough time to hang out in the lobby before Turk had to leave me forever! Oh no! Serv showed up and got to meet Turk and Blue, then I got to roam around with Serv's group once Turk left. We went and got pizza, then hung around in the lobby for the remainder of my time there. Doodles and sketchbooks were involved.

So, I've decided to stream myself playing in order to help keep myself from going insane. Having a blast so far! If you're curious, really bored, missed streams, or some strange combination of the above, I'll probably update this journal with the recordings.
Forewarning, I watch the chat while I play, which means every so often I'll say something or laugh at a time that doesn't really make sense. That's because of the people watching, sorry if there's a lot of confusion with this.
Part 1 does not exist because I was stupid and didn't save the recording. Oh well, you didn't miss much. It was mainly a bunch of troubleshooting with Procaster and Skype, me learning the controls, and bad mic quality.

1. I'm pretty sure everyone in my immediate family has been stung by a stingray at least once in their lifetime, except for me. I can't help but feel my time is coming, but I really hope it doesn't.
2. I've noticed that I tend to remember my dreams more often when they occur after I have already woken up in the middle of the night/morning. Makes me like sleeping on the weekends more.
3. One of the reasons I don't draw very often is due to the fact that I am sometimes too critical of my own abilities. I'll look at something I'm working on and think it looks ok, but the next time I look at it I'll notice a bunch of things I don't like about it and get discouraged. It also doesn't help that I'm no good at freehand sketching.
4. I have two sisters and no brothers AND my parents divorced, leaving me with my mother. As a result, I had a pretty interesting childhood, what with living with three women.
5. A good friend of mine gave me an adorable otter plushie holding a fuzzy starfish. His name is now Cecil and he sits on my bed.
6. I've only flown in an airplane once and it was a small, 4-person aircraft. It was tight and NOISY. If you couldn't guess from that, I've never been out of state before.

1. I'm pretty sure everyone in my immediate family has been stung by a stingray at least once in their lifetime, except for me. I can't help but feel my time is coming, but I really hope it doesn't.
2. I've noticed that I tend to remember my dreams more often when they occur after I have already woken up in the middle of the night/morning. Makes me like sleeping on the weekends more.
3. One of the reasons I don't draw very often is due to the fact that I am sometimes too critical of my own abilities. I'll look at something I'm working on and think it looks ok, but the next time I look at it I'll notice a bunch of things I don't like about it and get discouraged. It also doesn't help that I'm no good at freehand sketching.
4. I have two sisters and no brothers AND my parents divorced, leaving me with my mother. As a result, I had a pretty interesting childhood, what with living with three women.
5. A good friend of mine gave me an adorable otter plushie holding a fuzzy starfish. His name is now Cecil and he sits on my bed.
6. I've only flown in an airplane once and it was a small, 4-person aircraft. It was tight and NOISY. If you couldn't guess from that, I've never been out of state before.

Things about me:
1. A sculpture of Jazz currently sits on my computer desk and hanging off his ear is... another sculpture of Jazz! Mini-Jazz is actually a keychain, but I'm too nervous to take him out with me right now. Too adorable!
2. One of my all-time favorite video games is Shadow of the Colossus, but not for the reason most other people like it. They tend to like it for the story, which I think is interesting, but what really captures me with the game is the gameplay against the Colossi. Each fight against a Colossi was like a giant puzzle. You didn't get any new equipment, so you had to use the environment in order to figure out how to win. I liked that and I continue to like it whenever I feel like playing through it again.
3. Both of my elbows are double-jointed. If I extend my arms horizontally and relax, they bend below the joints in my elbows, making them look broken. It was fun to creep people out with them when I was younger.
4. I tried growing a beard once. Only lasted about a week because I constantly found myself PLAYING with it. I'd be in class or something and I'd just start tugging at, not even thinking about it. Then I finally realized what I was doing and thought about how many people saw me doing it. No more beard after that.
5. I used to dislike driving. Then I developed a larger affection for music. Now I use driving as an excuse to listen to my growing list of music.
6. I get foot cramps really easily and they SUCK. Oh my god, like my feet are trying to rip themselves apart.
7. I'm 21 years old, but I haven't been drunk. I actually don't really like alcohol. Well, I guess I could say I haven't tasted any alcoholic beverages that I like. Haven't tried much though.
8. The only sport, if you can call it that, that I genuinely like is Badminton. Playing, not watching, if you were wondering. I don't like playing or watching any other sports, really. I know! What kind of man am I?!
9. When I was like 5 years old or something, I had the craziest camping adventure ever. I picked up a live snake because I thought it was a rubber toy! And then, while we were hiking up a mountain, a thunderstorm whipped up out of nowhere. We had to run back to the campsite, but the tent was insta-flooded, so we had to hide out in the car during the storm. Fun times.
10. It is very difficult to get me angry. My friends like to try all the time... they always fail. I often either get upset or frustrated, but never angry. Also, those feelings are usually tied to when I play FPS games online. FFFFF, why do I have to do everything myself?! Come on guys!
11. The only allergy I know myself to have is for cats. It's not bad though, as in I'd need to be swimming in cat hair or something in order for it to really bother me.

Well... I'm feeling pretty open today. I browsed art online for quite some time in the past. Furaffinity came up every once in a while, but I avoided it. Then I stumbled upon a site called Transfur, a place where people post transformation art, and... I liked it (ohohoho, my secrets, you know them). I'd check some of the artists galleries and Furaffinity came up again, so I lurked. It wasn't until I found out that a friend of mine,, joined this site and I decided to create my own, official account. And here I am, the newbie.

Things about me:
1. I like water. Drinking, swimming(badly, but I like being in water), taking a shower, rain, you name it. I even like that wet smell after it's been raining. Yeah.
2. When I was in middle school, another student tossed a swing at me and the metal clamp struck my arm and cut my skin. To this day, that's the only scar on my body caused by injury.
3. I am obsessed with Super Smash Brothers Brawl and I love playing with other people. It stinks when they drift away after I beat them though...
4. I like to think myself extremely patient, but something that really grinds my gears is when people slow down to a crawl while walking because they can't multitask. i.e. Talking, looking through a bag, texting, WHATEVER. Why you gotta do that while walking in front of me?
5. The only "major" injury I've received so far through my life is a fractured wrist. I like to be careful.
6. Multiplayer games on Steam are my life! Play games with me!
7. I actually kind of like it when people talk or do something that makes noise while I try to sleep. I know I'm not alone that way.
8. I'm pretty shy and don't always talk a lot. People tend to misunderstand and think that means I don't enjoy being with other people. I LOVE being with people, whether I actually say it out loud or not. Can I enjoy your company silently?

-Not really, since I haven't changed much over the years. I just wish there was more time.

-LOL, oh god. I was just thinking about it. Uh, I was in the car with my older sister and was telling me how my dad had just died. The sad part was the fact that I didn't feel anything at first, I literally sat and thought for a second. "Wait, she just said my dad died." Then I basically forced myself to cry, because I didn't know why I wasn't crying in the first place. It was an upsetting dream.

-Having friends and family that know I exist in this world, since I try not to forget any of them.

Silly dream + new favorite song
General | Posted 14 years agoWell, for the sake of creating a brighter mood, I'm going to replace my previous journal with this one, since I coincidently had a dream last night that I randomly feel like sharing.
It starts out in some overgrown backyard. No idea why I was there, just walking around while my family was chatting next door. As I exit the brush and reach the house, I notice something clinging to my pant leg. Before I can get a look at it, the creature darts up my body, hops on my shoulder, then clambers upon the brim of my hat, where it cuddles up. Apparently I'm wearing a cowboy hat of sorts. I tip my hat and into my hands plops a moderately sized ball of fluff. It's a cute, little, white rabbit. Noticing that I had taken my hat off, the little guy immediately climbs back on my head and... nests in my hair.
Not wanting to disturb him, I head next door to where my family is and sit down where I can listen to what they're talking about. My sister, sitting across from me, notices the rabbit and points while giving me strange stares. I indicate that I found him in the yard next door, but she continues to stare. Bothered by her gaze, I head back to the overgrown yard, gently pull the rabbit off my head, and place him on a small box. Can't remember if it was later that day or the next, but I eventually return to find him still sitting on the same box. I crouch down and "offer" my head once more, but all the little rabbit does is bat his little paws at me, as if he were angry. Aaaaand that's all I remember, pretty silly.
