Almost through with finals
Posted 7 years agoI finally am through the hard part of the semester's finals and have a little room to breathe. Started drawing again, which I plan on doing every day, (I'll see how that goes in a week) In the meantime, I have some more stuff in the works, stay tuned for that as well, and if I have enough time and energy, I might even take a commission, who knows?
Semester finals coming up in a few weeks
Posted 8 years agoIf any of yall are looking to get your character done by me I suggest waiting till the end of next month because shit's about to hit the fan at my college with the semester finals, or as we call it. sesiuni. Starting from 22 January up until 11 February I'll be gone completely, but after that I'm down for drawing stuff for money. Cheers!

College is about to finna start less than 3 days
Posted 8 years agoAnd I can't be more excited. I'm "moving" to another city, the apartment where I'll be staying is already nice and cozy and mostly, I DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE I EARNED THAT SPOT. Boi, Cluj better be prepared for me n my friends' arrival, cus we are gonna make it 100000x better with our mere presence. It's gonna be a jolly old time.
I GOT ACCEPTED INTO UAD BABYYY
Posted 8 years agoIt was one hell of a ride! Let me start from the beginning. So there's this cool uni that every cool art kid wants to go to, the University of Art and Design in Cluj. I was one of those kids. I spent the past weeks, besides playing games and watching anime, preparing for my college admission "contest" (because a lot of people sign up) - studying a bit of anatomy and proportion and polishing my portfolio. Went to Cluj with all my stuff on Saturday, so that I could finish the remaining drawings that needed additional attention, and to get to know the city a bit more. Our first drawing trial was on Monday, where we had a portrait. Sounds easy enough. 5 hours on a single portrait should be the easiest part. Except that the model's face was shiny and greasy, my easel was wonky and facing the window, and the sun decided to shine in that one angle that made my drawing impossible to see because of the shimmer of graphite. Not only that, but the lighting was always changing and the guy's face sweat and grease started to disappear gradually, as I was desperately trying to get it right. Once that was over, I thought I was doomed, because I didn't have time to finish the shoulders, so my drawing was literally just a head and a neck, maybe a little lines that suggest there's shoulders too. Dunno how, but I got an 8.5/10 on that, which made me the 10th best of the 114 applicants. The first 57 advanced further, to the second trial, where we had two 5-hour days (10 hours total) to do a portrait with hands. I learned from my mistakes so I decided to use charcoal on this, and did a little experimental study with that, because I used brushes to smudge and blend the charcoal instead of using my fingers. That second one turned out a lot better than the first one, and it went a lot faster than I expected, because I already finished my drawing in 7 hours. I was not out of the woods yet, because the interview still remained. Now, there were some people that went to a national contest in 11th & 12th grade, which meant that hey had the chance of skipping their admission contest, given they had a solid portfolio. 2 of my friends participated in the early showing of their portfolio and I've heard war stories from that, since more than half of those people were rejected, including one of my friends. Naturally I was nervous, because the rejected friend told me the lecturers didn't even look at the digital artworks because they're really against that. That said, I had 11 digital drawings out of my 27 pieces. What I didn't know is that they were super strict on the other portfolio viewing, because they expected a lot from national contest winners/attendants, because they didn't get that far for nothing. Fortunately, they didn't complain about my digitals, because they had no expectations from me, which was nice. Overall it went really well and I ended up on 13th place with an average score of 9.05/10 and I won't need to pay tuition fees, because the first 26 spots are funded by the government which is nice. And that's the story of how I got into college, yayy
Diploma work finished - come at me brah
Posted 8 years agoIt was a big fiasco but I'm finally over it so now I can finally do more drawi- actually I still have to study for the baccalaureate, but if you want a commission, note me with details about what you'd like and we can discuss the nitty-gritty in private. Since I don't have a price sheet and I don't have much experience with commissions, I'm going to have to assess the difficulty and the resources on the spot ( i.e if it's traditional, the art supplies & the shipping costs; still might have to consult a friend )
TFW
Posted 8 years agoYou feel like drawin cool shit again but then the thought of the baccalauréat closing in fucks you hard in the ass. Oh and the fact that your diploma work isn't even halfway finished and you gotta do 4 double layered linocuts and finish 3 giant digital paintings that you were supposed to have already done weeks ago. That.
<3 Welcome to my life <3Such a shit mood jfc
Posted 9 years agoNot sure whether it's from my cold/flu/whatever, school starting, autumn in general (it depresses the fuck out of me) or I'm just not chemically balanced. Either way I'm kinda at an art block right now so I might not post anything for a while...
But a promise is a promise, I stuck to it , uploaded something so see ya next week. Bye bye

Posted 9 years agoI should curate my favorites, clean up there. I might have been a bit reckless in the past week when it comes to hitting that favorite button. Gosh I'm an idiot
Ok this time for real
Posted 9 years agoI've once again decided not to be a lazy shit, so I am going to upload at least 1 drawing a week. This is most likely an impossible stretch and one I might not be able too keep up once school starts because I'm gonna be fucking busy every single day. Yup, that leaves me with only a tiiiiny bit of time to do ma thang, so enjoy that while it lasts. *cries in the corner*
Omfg
Posted 9 years agoI don't know how many of Kagi's drawings I've faved in the last 15 minutes but someone's gonna freak out tomorrow. I guess that's what psychotic friends like me are for.
No more procrastination
Posted 9 years agoI finally got off my lazy ass and I'm doing stuff I need to do. School stuff. Important stuff. I'm gonna be the on fire for like, the first month of school. After which I'll probably let myself go like I normally do, but I'll have done something at least. Sigh. I hope that won't happen but still. Why am I even writing this journal when the only person I know here probably doesn't even know I am here lol
