It's never easy having a parent suffer a stroke, and then develop dementia because of it, and then start to get Parkinson's on top of that. I just never brought it up here or anywhere because it feels like a long, hard, slow thing to deal with. In all this, I kind of hoped things would get a little bit better, but sometimes better just isn't going to happen. Not for my dad anyways. Kind of makes me wish the job market was better in order to help my mom take care of him more.

I'm going to GSFC again this year, even though I swore the first time I wouldn't go back. This time I'll finally have something in the art show. Two things, actually. Both pictures of Brandy. I'll probably sign them.

Los Angeles had or has a fire, and now San Diego is on fire. I just need to find a way to save my fursuits since all of the boxes won't fit into my car.

Happy new year, everybody! I guess. Here's to hoping 2025 will be a better year than 2024 for me.

I have a Patreon that needs using more, mostly because I'm soon to be between jobs and just need to keep myself going while trying to also go back to school. I have an idea for a website where I upload all my fursuit pictures. I can upload my gallery to a site like Wix easily, I just need to buy the domain name which costs something like $3,000.

Also, I'm seeing about going back to school. I want to get a better job because this current one I just can't keep doing anymore. It's mostly for the birds now and I just can't see myself doing it another 30 years. I'd do better in doing something like IT.

11 years has been great, but now that my parents' house has been paid off, I've really no reason to stick around. I had an entirely different journal ready to go, but I accidentally closed my browser so now that journal is lost to the annals of time. It had to do with buying a house and doing something with this domain name I'd purchased.

It's not the Krystal Fox Adventures ones. It's a completely different one that I'd kept a secret for a few years now, and only kept a small circle of friends in the know on. Well, when you buy a domain name like SexyVixen.com, after a few years you tend to put it on a back burner when you can't get the site up and running. So for the moment it's just redirected somewhere else until I get that affair in order.

So until that's going where I want, I'm just going to get back into photography. I'll probably just start with doing fursuit self-portrait how-tos and what not since I have actual experience in that that I'd like to impart, sort of.

I've not been active on here as much as I should have recently, and probably for good reason. I've been busy quite a bit for the last year, which I might justify with an explanation in this journal.

First off, I bought a house. Went through escrow, and got the title and key the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Also, I acquired several different domain names. One is based on one I read in a story, but I'm keep it sort of a secret right now while I decide what to do with it. And given the fact that I dropped upwards of $1,500 on it, I need to start using it in this economy. The other domain I bought is a variation on Krystal Fox Adventures. http://KrystalFoxAdventures.net is one that's currently being used and directed towards a Twitter account, http://KrystalFoxAdventures.com directs to the YouTube channel.

I have a Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/SevenFox) and Ko-Fi (https://ko-fi.com/kristopherholcomb) accounts. Also, like the aforementioned domains, I need to upload more to these accounts. I have little there right now, but I hope to contribute to these beginning this weekend. Meaning I'll start taking more video and pictures this weekend, and should have more content beginning this weekend.

Went to GSFC after work Saturday. Most of what I wanted to say went on the stream. Here are a few highlights (and certain things I forgot to mention).

So, everyone checking into the hotel needed to sign a form saying they wouldn't host room parties. I guess it needs to go with saying now. I'm guessing the hotel might be in the know about how furries like to be in too festive a mood while attending furry conventions. Still, though, I couldn't really blame the hotel for that. They want to make their hotel a pleasant place to stay for all their guests. Plus, they needed to have people agree not to smoke and/or vape anywhere inside the building because their smoke detectors are sensitive enough to pick up on vape steam. There's a $2000 fine for pulling the fire extinguishers and disabling the smoke detectors in the rooms, because of course they may have heard about the Rain Furrest incident.

Although, it probably should have been a red flag that my room wasn't immediately ready, and I had to actually try again once I saw my friend manage to get his later that day. Clarification: The front desk said they'd call me when it was ready. They never called, and when I saw my friend check in, I figured I'd try again. Plus, for a hotel across the street from a major airport, finding parking was hit or miss. At least there was free parking nearby, but I'd rather try and stay parked on the hotel property just to make things easier.

There was having to get a media badge because taking video with a mini DV camcorder from 2007 warrants it. But at least I'm finally getting to use it.

It was a hot weekend. The airport was there, so at least we wouldn't be the only ones with noise complaints. A friend wanted to get 2 Domino's pizzas, but they were $60. Coupons to reduce the continental breakfast to $9. Stories of a bottle of Coke sold for $4 by the hotel. Things that I just want to bring up for no reason.

So far, these are all the things that I just wanted to put out there that were not fun.

There were also good and fun things going on. I got to hang with friends I hadn't seen in a while. Mostly. I finally found a second friend to interview for a video I'm making about a fursuit I'm working on. That's a plus. And boy do I have friends who'll say yes. So the weekend isn't really a total wash, even when I had to double back to Irvine when I was so close to home because I somehow realize I forgot something at the Hilton, which is an amazing hotel on its own by the way.

I need to redo certain art. I'm making a video, which includes posting some of the artwork I've commissioned over the years. This involves getting permission from the artists for the sake of having it. Long story short, there are two artists who are unavailable for reasons I won't go into, and since asking for their permission is not in my favor, I figure it'll be easier just to recommission everything and ask for permission then.

I'll be preparing for Further Confusion 2018, since I've already registered and got the hotel room reserved. Now, if I could only find someone to help out with a ref sheet I need drawn soon. It's for a friend.

I suppose I've been a bit too busy as of late. Like aiming to make it up to a furry convention that may have been butchered to death. But I won't be getting to the messy post about it. It's dead, let's just leave it at that. Meaning I may have to rewrite a story I've been trying to get filmed for a while now.

Speaking of which, there is a story that I've read, by a writer on here, that I'd really want to make an animated film out of. It's one that I don't think too many people have read, and am thinking of animating a single scene to see how well it turns out.

It's somewhere in the $1800 range. It sort of looks like an adult one, but I'm planning on using it for furry purposes. Mainly, it's for a secret-ish fusona I'm trying to create. Meaning I'd need to find someone who could help design and build the website, and maybe keep a secret.

And I may have gotten the name for the website from a story I read a while back. Now, to figure out how to build the site.

Yes, I went to Further Confusion 2017. I had a decent time, except for a really close call driving up the 101. And maybe postponing filming a furry horror anthology film.

But it was an enjoyable experience this year. Now, to go and upload all my images.

I'll be there...eventually. Gonna take a few pictures, some video, and reserve con rooms solely for myself at future cons. I'm taking things back to 2008, when things were awesome and Rain Furrest existed. But that's another story.

Sorry I haven't been keeping updates on here. Work, school, and just wanting to take a break from FA. But I am working on things. Like a cartoon, if I could ever find voice actors and animators to participate.
