Finally get to process and upload the Confuzzled 2017 photos my husband and I have taken. Had a bit trouble because my Laptop crashed to death, but I've got a new one and rescued all the photos from the old HDD. :3

It may be that I will get a table for the Art Show on which I can display my canvas art. This solution won't be so elegant, BUT as long as I can at least show you some of my art, I don't care much. There is even a chance that I can upgrade the table to a panel, if someone else does not need his or her panel space.
Please hold your fingers crossed that they will grant me a table!

I did not get my requested panel for the Eurofurence Art Show this year but I'm on the waiting list instead.:(
I participated the past 6 years and it kind of hurts that maybe this year, the year where my art flow was revived like never before, I can't show a single piece of my newly created acrylic art. Maybe it was last year's art block that caused them to sort me out. A colleague from work committed suicide and I was unable to do art other than photography. So I only submitted some of my photos to the show...
I've lost all motivation now to finish my biggest canvas which is 100cm long and was almost done...
My goal of participating in the Art Show was never to make lots of money, but to make people just see my art since showing my Art online ist not the same like showing the canvas in real life since I don't do much digital art.

I hope that they will grant me at least some panel space to display one or two of my smaller pieces. They probably will be overlooked due to the small size but at least I would'nt feel as unwanted as I do right now.

As reported in my last journal (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5785653/), our roomsign sadly disappeared at Confuzzled 2014. :(
Since it didn't turn up anymore throughout the convention, I have to assume that it was stolen.
If you should see it somewhere else, maybe someone showing it around and stating it as his/hers, please be aware that it is originally mine and was obviously stolen. I still want to believe that it was just a mistake, maybe it fell down, someone took it and forgot to bring it to Con Ops or something. but if it doesn't turn up in the aftermath I have to consider every possibility, even the worst case. :(

If you've found the roomsign or know the person who has found it, please give it back, please report it to me if you have seen it or know something. My best friend Schiraki has drawn this for me as a present and it has a high emotional value.

Joleii and Nase

It's been 4 months since my last journal and since I last uploaded a picture here. And it's been 4 months since I last created art of any kind. I hope that there will be art again in the future but I wont make any promises.

I have a job now as a bat biologist what makes me happy somehow, but I don't have time to draw or to paint because I'm working all day and/or all night long. I have only few spare time and the art block I'm suffering from since more than 4 months now puts all creative works over the edge, including photography.

Furthermore, I have the feeling that my job is the only way to receive encouragement and acknowledgement while no one cares for the art anyway. Because my job is something I am good at. I range the woods by night to ferret out different species of bats and determine them by their ultrasonic sounds. I even have the chance to catch some bats and track them to their nursery roosts. I do this to protect the bats when some corporation plans to clear trees or build something like a road or a wind energy plant. European law dictates that no one may interfere in any ecosystem without a valuation of the risks for the endangered species that live there. And this is my job, I present the facts and this helps to protect the bats.

I think facts are more of a thing for me than creativity is. I will try to do some art again if I find the time, but at this very moment, art seems just meaningless to me. Everything I create is of no worth. I look at it and it seems just soulless to me. The funny thing is, that most of the art others create is also of no worth to me. I look at it and I am unable to see the beauty that other people discover in it. There are only some exceptions of which I think they are precious. But most of the art I see every day, whether I created it myself or it was created by others, even things I still loved some time ago, have become worthless to me. I just feel cold and hard like a part of me died some time ago.
I just feel alive when I am alone in the woods at night and get into situations that demand physically and mentally everything from me. When I overcome these situations, I feel strong.

I'm in the middle of moving to a new home at the edge of the forest, far away from my actual home. I'm living in chaos at the moment while the move just proceeds very slowly because of work, sickness, lots of stuff I assembled over the years and the sheer distance. Yesterday, I've found my father's army boots on the attic. They represent a time when my father was still able to stand and walk, to do things. It is really hard for me to see him fade. I will wear these boots with pride. And I know he is proud of me because I can handle my life now.

I do not have the strength to thank everyone personally for the recent faves. So I wanted to thank every one of you that likes my photos or even my art enought to click this little fave button in a single journal. :)

It could take some time until I upload another picture because I'm in a really bad mood lately. I thought I'd overcome the death of my beloved Möhre, but not a single day passes on which I'm not thinking of it. The worse I feel, the more I miss her. It's like a vicious circle.
Of my old guinea pigs, only Habanero is left since Karamel died last month. And Habanero is sick, too. He had an operation where a tumor was removed and since then, he loses weight and now suffers from mite pest because his immune system is down.

When it comes to art, I have the feeling that not a single thing will work. I try, but I've lost all my drive. Maybe I'll get a job soon and my life might make sense again.

This morning at 5 a.m., my guinea pig Möhre died.
It was the most terrible thing that ever happened. I've lost 4 guinea pigs in the past 12 months, one of them, Lakritz, just about three weeks ago. But I could somehow live with it, because Möhre was there to comfort me every time. Now she's gone and my husband and me as well as Karamel and Habanero remain lonely. No one there to comfort us now.

Möhre may have been the one creature on earth I loved most, besides my husband. She was best friend. She was sister. She was daughter. She was baby. She was pure love. I would have done everything for her, but this morning, I just could do nothing at all. It happened so sudden and so fast. I was holding her helplessly. I don't know if she knew I was with her, because she did not see and did not hear any more. She was like in a coma.

I was having nightmares for the past 2 years or so. None of them was so frightening and horrific like reality.
If my husband was'nt there, I would lose the last drop of my will to live.

I tend to believe in God or something like this. I'm wondering what sin I must have committed to deserve all this shit. From day to day, I'm wondering: why me? What's the plan, if there is any? It's getting harder and harder to just go on. I'm just waiting for the day I have to bury my parents, since this may not be too long in the future, because they are both terminally ill. I do not hope so, since their diseases are incurable but not directly mortal. Life was never so hard as it is right now.


All this may cause an absence from art stuff, because I don't know if I will be able to do art at all in the next weeks or months. Some people use art to overcome their feelings, but this so far did not work for me. Maybe it will this time, who knows.

It's my birthday today and getting older feels strange, just because I don't feel older at all. Most people think I'm 16 or even younger because I still look like a youngster. Last time I had to laugh heavily was at this year's Eurofurence (furries must be at least 18 years old to participate), when some people in the elevator were making naughty jokes and suddenly stopped when they had seen me and one of 'em screamed: "Stop, we have children in here!"
This could be only topped by a fur that asked me two years ago if I was aging backwards. Yeah, right. I think I'm rather some sort of demi-god or whatever XD

I think I'm not growing older, just fatter :p Will go to the fitness center more often to turn fat into muscles.

My husband gave me Portal 2 as a birthday present today :3 Finally I can play it, too. I already liked the first Portal game much. Plans for today are: playing Portal 2, going to the pet shop and buy some stuff for my spiders and for Mr. Blum, my Idolomantis diabolica and maybe something for my guinea pigs, too. I invited some people to go all-you-can-eat to a chinese restaurant. Sun is shining, so this should become a great day!
