Posted 14 years agoAlright! time to try to reel in some new commissions again. :3
I'm opening five slots and will update it whenever a slot is filled.
Once again my prices will range in price depending on what you need, but expect around 30 dollars for a single pic with one character, fully colored and all.
And I also like to again ask what you feel a drawing from me is worth.
I also accept Swedish Kronor and Euro. :P
Feel free to send me feedback about my service if your an old customer or new, how you liked my job last time ect.

and I thought I might for once go with it, hey maybe it will make me more popular. :P
1. What is your official fursona's species? - I suppose a rabbit.
2. If forced into changing said species, what would you pick? - I like lizards, could be that.
3. If you have a favorite fetish, what is it and explain why? If you don't have one at all, is there one that particularly piques any curiosity / interest in your artwork? - Inflation, because it reminds me of my mother. (jk) I dunno, I just find it hot.
4. Best Final Fantasy game: FF6 or FF7? Why your decision? - I sort of wish I hadn't played any of those games just so I could cram the question back down your throat Val. XD. I would have to say FF6, never saw what was so great with FF7.
5. Favorite game hero of all time and why? - Geralt from the Witcher, because he is a total badass without resorting to being whiny/brooding/emo. He is the proof of a truly well written character. (probably why he shouldn't count also since he is a book character originally :x) Otherwise I'm starting to get a case of fanboism over Adam Jensen from Human Revolution. I dunno, maybe I just have a weakness for awesome cyborgs.
6. Favorite game villain of all time and why? This is a REALLY tough question for me. At first I thought I had it at the tip of my tongue and just needed to remember it, but the more I think about it, the more I'm having difficult thinking of a villain that I would consider my favorite. I liked Liquid Snake in Metal Gear Solid, BEFORE he was turned into an arm/virus/ghost I don't even... I found Saren fairly interesting in ME1 and he felt fleshed out as a real person. It's hard to say what makes a good villain, are they just good because of a specific reason, like the way they are important to the story or how they bounce off the hero? or are they interesting for their character? I believe a good villain should be able to stand on it's own without needing the hero to reflect off or just be cool because he was building that really cool space laser ect...
7. In any work (movie, TV, game, etc.), what's the saddest moment you've ever seen, and was it enough to even make you break down into tears? - There are a few but I can also be a big baby at times. Probably "Grave of the Fireflies" is the one movie I refuse to ever watch again by how depressing I found it the first time, tho I can't really point out a specific scene in that movie since the entire movie was pretty much there to be a long drawn out scene of watching a pair of children get tormented and starved to death. Otherwise I would probably say Planescape: Torment, the "scene/dialogue" where the Nameless One finds a crystal ball with the memory of where his past incarnation manipulated Deionarra that was helplessly in love with him.
8. If there's one thing you hate about some fellow artist(s), what is it and why does it get under your skin? Totally anonymous question here. No names should be given. - I don't hate anyone as much as I am green with envy.
9. What is / was your favorite subject in high school? - Probably art, music sort of felt like playtime and cooking class let me make tasty bread sometimes. :P
10. What's a stereotype of a species in the furry fandom you never understood? - uuuuh... why most gay comics need to have emo drama in it? I dunno, why if your a demon/goth half-breed thingy are you almost always based off a wolf or fox? where are the demon bunnies or dragon-squirrels?
11. Are all female fox-anthros doomed to have mega-tits in most artwork they're portrayed in? - No

Here are some rules but I will ignore some of them, your not the boss of me! >:(
1. You must post these rules (DO IT).
2. Each person must post 11 things about themselves in their journal.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create eleven new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4. You have to choose 11 people to tag and post their icons on your journal.
5. Go to their page and tell them you have tagged him/her.
6. No tag backs (unless it's a booty call).
7. No stuff in the tagging section about "you are tagged if you are reading this." You legitimately (AKA, really, truly, with all honesty) have to tag 11 people.
I'll try to tag a few people I know of, but I don't have that many friends and won't go through my watchlist just to find an 11th person to tag.
Also I'll prolly be too lazy to spam everyones shout box. If you don't read my journals then that's your problem/luck?

5. What is the biggest or hardest betrayal that has ever happened to you? (f.ex your dad promised to take you out for ice cream when you where 7 but broke his promise)
6. If you had to choose one religion to prove to be true, which one would it be? (can choose from any kind of fiction or media, it's all fantasy ;D)
7. One kind of new technology your hoping to see within the next 10 years.
8. What is your favorite/least hated adaptation of something? (f.ex a movie into a game, game into a movie, book into game ect.)
9. What is your earliest memory?

Taking commissions.
Posted 14 years agoI figure it's about time I started actively looking for commissions again.
I think five slots would be enough, if I can fill them up that is and we'll see how it goes.
I've yet to decide on set prices, since there are a lot of variables if you want multiple characters, backgrounds, sequence, comics ect.
But I figure $30 for a single drawing with full coloring, probably $10 for a sketch.
If people wouldn't mind tho, I would like to try a system of you telling me how much you would be willing to pay for one of my drawings, what you think they are worth.
I'd be willing to discuss prices and such privately over notes or chat anyway.
Anyway so I'm opening five commission slots for now, and I will update this journal whenever someone wishes to have a slot.
And I apologizes to the person I've promised to make a comic, and any future people that may ask me to one.
Comics are exceptionally difficult and stressful for me to do, and I hope to one day understand how to do them more easily and quick, and maybe look at them on a smaller scale rather then the complete thing which is frankly scaring me to take on the task.

Posted 14 years agoI feel like going for a long shot here, but I figure it's worth a shot.
See I've started having a sort of existential crisis... in furriness.
I mean that as in that I'm not very happy with my fursona, and was wondering if anyone knew ways I could improve on him, or give critique to what they think works or doesn't work with him.
Like do you think he should be something other then a bunny for example? I don't really care, I just sort of want a character that I can draw nice art of and hopefully convince other artists to have a go at him. X3
Well that isn't all true, I still want to be able to relate to him/her/it, and I probably wouldn't be able to do that with a Protectron 5000 with 8 dick nipples and a chainsaw penis.
But you get what I mean? I should I completely just do something new? or is there ways to improve on my classic bunny Jon.

As an even further long shot, any artists that read this that think they could give me some hints or suggestions when it comes to making comics?

Read this if you think you will talk to me at some point
Posted 14 years ago(warning, this is a mini rant of sorts)
I thought people knew this by now but I guess it won't hurt to make it known publicly.
And that is that I HATE Team Fortress 2!
I audibly groan whenever I hear or see that game being mentioned, so please. I do not want to talk about TF2, don't ask me if I have or do play TF2, and I don't want to draw stuff related to TF2.
Now you shouldn't feel bad if your one of the people that has done any of these things already, didn't know. <:3
But hopefully now you can save yourself the trouble just getting a poisonous "NO" back from me, and risk hearing me going into a rant of how much that game blow chunks.
Don't think that I'm an angry person now, it's really just that game which burns my fuse. D:

For all those that saw my Derpy Dragon drawing.
Posted 14 years agoI was overwhelmed with the amount of feedback I got from that drawing.
A huge thank you to everyone, I got some comments that seriously felt well thought out and constructive. :3
I'm afraid I can't say that I will get a career in it anytime soon, but then again I'm pretty sure any artist can agree with me that it's a hard as hell living anyway. ^^
I dunno what else to say other then I was positively suprised with the amount of responses I got to that drawing which I expected to just get swiped under the rug.

Upcoming 400 watches mark
Posted 14 years agoIt's not very far away now.
Since I've seen a lot of artists do special drawings concerning the amount of submissions/watches/page views they have, I was thinking if I should do something special for the 400 watches mark?
Any ideas what it should be? D:

Recently aquired intuos4 M
Posted 14 years agoToday I got a package containing one set of Wacom Intuos4 medium. :D
After waiting to buy one from a seller for a week or two I finally decided to just buy one new.
Originally I was planning on buying a small one, but the promise of owning a medium was too tempting and I finally bought one online.
I don't think I've ever had a package as pompous as this one. :P
After carefully opening up like three layers of packing and fishing out the tablet out of a fine cloth blanket I was ready to inspect the product. |3
I can't say I quite get the reason to give you a pen holder, sure it looks painfully pro and classy, but I was quite fine with just being able to attach the pen to the tablet whenever I didn't use it.
Sure the penholder also acts like a magazine for your extra pen nips and such, but it could prolly have been a small attachment to the back or something.
I'm just more for functionality then looking like Baron von Artistic.
So far I've only given the tablet a brief test run to see how much it differs from the old Graphire I was using and I think the lines feel more stable, even without using the stabilizer in SAI.
Lots of the shiny buttons I don't quite know what I'll need them for as they seem to have no effect in SAI atleast.
Zooming in and out seems needlessly complex since you need to move your finger in circles around the little circle radical button thingy, but then again I'm used to the simple scroll bar on my Graphire. :P
So far I can't really tell if this new tablet will improve my work for me, and probably an artist more experienced with the intuos would be able to tell me how it will make things 64 better.
I doubt I'll end up returning it as I haven't found anything which makes me really wanna go back to my old tablet, except that well, it's bigger, meaning it's clunkier to handle now that I've gotten used with using the Graphire the way I do, and also since the drawing surface is bigger I need to practice in making longer and bigger movements when drawing since I'm pretty used in making micro strokes at the moment.
In any event I want to thank everyone who commissioned me up till now (and of course everyone who will do so after aswell X3) since they made it possible for me to get an intuos, all the money I earned from doing commissions have gone into saving for a new tablet and it finally paid off. :B
I tip my hat to you guys. (I should really upload a photo of my hat at some point, it's kinda pimped out.)

First few hours of playing The Witcher 2
Posted 14 years agoI can't say this will be much of a review as I am not very well versed in that sort of thing, but I still felt I should write down my impression of the game so far.
Let me start by saying how beautiful the game is.
Every scene looks handcrafted and unique with a immersive atmosphere which so far has included full blown castle sieges aswell as a dark and damp torture dungeon.
Infact it looks so good that my pretty new computer has a hard time keeping it at a high framerate on medium graphics, which makes me tempted to look for new hardware to install just so I can get the full appreciation of the visuals.
I heard the developers talk about how this was suppose to be a game you can get into without playing the first one, but I would disagree and say that this is very much a chronological sequel, and that new players will be confused at first with knowing who all these characters are, and what is going on.
They do give a good recap of the ending of the first game and explaining what happened that lead up to the start of the second game, but I would still advice that if you are interested in Witcher 2 you should definitely check out the first game first.
Now for the gameplay.
It took me quite a while to figure out just how to play this game, and I'm still learning, but I remember I had the same problem in the first game and once I figured out how it was suppose to be done, I loved the combat.
While the first game uses a sort of point and click/rhythm, where timing your attacks decided how long of a combo chain you would manage to pull off and the occasional dodging and rolling out of the way, Witcher 2 uses a much more skill based system.
It's hard to describe it since I'm still getting the hang of it, but the best example I can give that Mietz suggested is the Gothic games combat system.
If you ever played any of the Gothic games you should know that that game requires a lot of timing from you, by that I mean that you need to judge when the best time to strike and block is.
I can't tell you how many times I died in Witcher 2 because didn't play it defensively enough or didn't try more strategies then just swing my sword at it.
You will unlock more combat abilities later on which should help you take down tougher and more enemies at once, but don't expect the game to take it easy on you during the tutorial.
What else can I say?
The voice work is solid, music is solid, character models are phenomenal together with an interesting and immersive story and pace.
A lot of people will probably compare the game to Dragon Age 2, as in this is what DA2 should have been.
My only problem with the game is that there doesn't seem to be any way to change the keybinding, or even to check them up for that matter.
This combined with a somewhat weak tutorial, as in you will get a few tooltip pop up, telling you about a sertain game mechanic, but most of the time I didn't catch them in time and missed what they had to say, and since I couldn't go into the menu and check the keybindings it took me a few hours before I realized that I had a block button.
Be sure to keep your game manual at hand, you will need it.
So would I recommend this game to anyone? hell yes!
I've only planned for maybe 3-4 hours now but I've yet to be disappointed, I was afraid it wouldn't feel like the first Witcher but I think it has proved itself beyond doubt that it will be and is a strong title in the series.
If you have any other questions about it or the first game, don't be afraid to ask. :)

I am back
Posted 14 years agoI'm back from taking a ferry and roadtrip to Poland.
I can't say it's been very fun, riding a car for 10 hours and almost two days worth of boring, drunken truckdriver crammed ferries.
But now I'm back with not only a cold, but also an extra passager which from now on is living with me.
I'm talking of course of
who after almost five years I think of being my sweet boyfriend over a long distance relationship. we have finally moved in together. :D
I just hope I won't drive him nuts and that he will be happy here.
The near future will be tough for both of us with trying to find him a job and doing all the paper work required for moving to a new country.
Not to mention settling in into a new world, I hope he will find friends and I will do everything I can to support him.
To my year long friend and lover who I finally will be living together with for the rest of our lives.
I salute you. <3

Commission List
Posted 14 years agoSo these are the people I'm suppose to do commissions for... I think.
Status:
Jack Thorn - Later
Alkora - Haven't really talked about it
Dgore - Busy at the moment
Rakeesh - Can't at the moment
Jasu - As soon as he can afford it
Larus - Will definitely happen at some point
Denji - Maybe in a week or two
._.
I guess I'll just wait then? or do I need to poke people about commissioning me?
I feel like I'm doing something wrong here. :S
(This really wasn't meant as anything mean spirited, I think your all awesome people)

About commissions
Posted 14 years agoI was wondering if maybe someone had any advice when it comes to taking commissions.
Right now I've sort of just wing and dealt with them one at a time whenever one appears.
But when I have more then one in line I get sort of confused.
Right now I have four possible in waiting, thing is that I don't really sign a contract with em or take the payment first, and since I feel I'm so slow I always tell my clients that I'll start on their drawing(s) as soon as I get the time for it, also to give em more time to think about what they really want me to draw.
Should I do this different somehow?
Problem now is that I'm not sure if they still want one by the time I feel I'm ready to tackle their wish and first need to try and get in contact with them to make sure they still want one and remind myself what it should be that I draw.
I also don't really write down a list of who it is cause I trust I will remember them, so far it's not that many that sign up at the same time anyway, but I still get unsure who I should tackle first and tend to think I should do the ones I think seem easiest first.
I also still don't feel my prices are set in stone, I try to charge around 20 dollars per pic now for one character if I add a background and some shading, but I still don't feel comfortable telling people what they should pay me.
Would be nice if I got some feedback to this journal. :3

Posted 14 years agoI just felt that I should tell the people that may be interested in this sequence that I don't know when the last two parts will be uploaded.
This is due to that I've so far not managed to get in contact with Dragoneer concerning the payment for his commission.
I don't know what's going on, I know he's using twitter atleast so he shouldn't be dead or without an internet connection, but for some reason he's deciding to not reply to my emails and notes or ignores reading them.
I am hoping that it will turn out to be some kind of misunderstanding and not that he has decided to stop communications with me for some reason.
But since I need to receive payment for this work I've decided to halt the uploads until this gets resolved.
Fear not tho, I will continue with whatever comes next on the what to draw list, :P

Tired of hearing about...
Posted 15 years agoAnyone else that keeps hearing or seeing a subject being discussed and talked about over and over until all you can think about when you hear it being brought up is "Come on! get the thing over with already! or drop the hype!"
In my case it is constantly hearing people discuss such things as: Minecraft, Team Fortress 2 (dear god that thing has overstayed it's welcome), Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Fluffypaws ™ pooltoys or something... which are soooo good and your a retard and a jew if you don't like them or know what they are...
Just had to do a mini rant :3
I'm crap at writing anyways.

Get me a doctooooooor....
Posted 15 years agoWhile visiting my dad in the city I must have caught the Norovirus I believe it is called...
Now I constantly need to use the bathroom and throw up.
I'm unable to keep anything down except water, which is lucky I suppose, otherwise I'd be a dried up husk by now. o.o
What I hate the most besides feeling like I want to kill myself is how boring it is.
I mostly feel too nauseous to do anything but lie down.
I went to bed at 10pm or something cause I just wanted to sleep but nooooo.... I was pretty much awake until 3am,
I feel a tiny bit better now but I don't wanna jinx it.
When I do get better I need to vacuum cause I spilled like half a box of washing powder on the carpet trying to get a bucket to puke in. -.-

computer problems
Posted 15 years agoI don't think there ever was a time where the computer I had didn't break, crap out, fuck up or act like a complete dick.
This time I guess it's going for a record.
If you didn't already know, I bought a new computer a few months back, it worked fine for a few weeks until one of the memories broke.
I took it out and now a few weeks later the harddrive broke.
I would take this piece of shit and drive it so far up the people who sold it to me asses until they would need to eat with the cd drive, except I'm too retarded and dumb as shit as to know anything about how warranty works or even where to find it.
Instead I'm gonna keep sending the broken parts back to them and have em replaced by an equally prone to fuck up component, probably ending up to pay for it myself too.
It's fun to know that the laptop, the shitty old laptop that had more blue screens and error messages then I can count, is whats still working rather reliably-ish.

Posted 15 years agoThe few of you who fancy it should save it on your hard drive if you haven't already since I need to take it down now I guess.
Update of a sort
Posted 15 years agoI haven't managed to get started on any new pic yet cause I've come down with a virus and barely had the energy to sit upright.
The fever is mostly gone now but I still have a soar throat and headache, but it shouldn't stop me from trying to draw something.
Problem is that I have all these great ideas (they sound great to me :P) that I just don't know how to execute.
So again, I'm sure there are a few people out there that has heard this from me before, I'm looking for some artist who could maybe tutor me a bit <:3
I don't know if it's even possible, I mean people draw differently, but I just want to learn how to get faster and more efficient.
In the time I finish one drawing I get the idea for 3-4 others which I never get time to realize, and I never get any time to just experiment or try out new things cause I'm afraid I will waste time if it turns out to be a failure.
In case someone read this, much love

Posted 15 years agoSon... I'm disappoint >:(
Seriously I am so disappointment in this installment.
When I first played Civ 4 I was disappointed in how it was lacking the things I loved so much about Civ 2, (I never payed 3)
Such as the beautiful and often live footage cinematics you got for building wonders, or who can forget the awesome advisors you had, portrayed by real actors :P
Instead every wonder you built was the same boring and bland model construction clip.
But I managed to get over that detail and enjoy the game.
So you can see that I was excited about getting the 5th installment in the series, I even bought the special edition just to get those five sweet miniatures.
At first when I started up the game I saw no problem with it, I already knew the game had much less civilizations to choose from then the 4th game,
or even 2nd for that matter, but since Firaxis liked to talk a lot about how this game had voice acting for every civ leader I figured it would be too expensive to get voice acting for more civilizations so I let it slip.
Problem is, that voice acting they bragged so much about? yeah every leader has maybe about 3-4 lines... a brief introduction, and a yes/no answer.
After a while I start noticing other things, things missing.
I can no longer trade maps with other civilizations, I can no longer trade technology, the game is easy as shit on the difficulty I otherwise always played on.
No water transport ships, no espionage, no religion, no civics and the list goes on and on... I didn't even get a freaking cinematic for winning the game, instead I got the equivalent of a crappy NES game ending, a screen popped up saying "Congratulations! you've won!"
I can't believe this game is suppose to be part of the otherwise great Civilization series, unless they do some major patching and hopefully good modding from the community I can't see my self touching on this pile of crap again.
Especially if they try to release these fixes that should have been in the game from the beginning as DLCs.
Avoid this game, especially if your a hardcore fan.

Looking for DnD 4.0 players
Posted 15 years agoSo me, Mietz and Valoriel are going together from time to time to play DnD over skype. I'd like to know if there are any others doing this, or who might be interested in maybe joining.
It would be sweet if we got together a small group. :3
....
Again I remind people that I accept commissions, my prices usually range around the 15 dollar mark.

I'm not dead
Posted 15 years agoI just felt like it has been a while since I uploaded something and just wanted to inform the people that care that I haven't lost my drawing mojo ^^.
I have been working on my first commission which included three pics and that earned me a strapping 35 dollars! :D
Not bad at all I must say, even if the client (do you say client?) wished to keep these pics private.
Coming up I have another trio of drawings to make that are aimed to be clean and presentable to my family since they have asked to see what I draw ^^.

What Jon does even less then upload art.
Posted 15 years agoIs to upload journals.
I admit that I usually don't pay attention to others journals but I felt I had to write one now.
The few of you that may watch me might have noticed that I don't draw quite as much as I did one month ago or such and might mean I'm heading into another drawing ice age. I would like to try and avoid that by taking a few requests if anyone has any (I wouldn't mind getting paid either :P)
If anyone baits at this I can't promise I will draw yours, depends of course how many requests I might get but also like I said I'm taking them in hope that they will spark new interest for me, otherwise I'm pretty much open to draw anything you like (or I'm capable of) with a few exceptions.
