In need of icon advice/help
Posted 8 months agoFor reasons I don't understand, the icon for Bernard Boogaloo is appearing as a rectangle in my gallery. The image itself is 120x120. Anyone know what's up with that?

Help Me Buy Persona 5! :D
Posted 8 years agoSo I learned that Persona 5 came out yesterday. Unfortunately as I'm still unemployed, I don't feel comfortable spending the money on a game right now. What I -do- feel comfortable doing is writing stories for some extra cash to use instead!
Commissions are 1.5 cents per word and if you're interested, feel free to toss a note my way with details. Don't know how much your idea might run? Toss a note anyway and I'll give an estimate!

Signal Boost: Get This Book Published!
Posted 9 years agoKris Schnee's new book, "The Digital Coyote" is currently on Kindle's Scout program. It needs more nominations to get a publication contract and I encourage everyone and anyone to help out! Schnee's a great writer and the setting he uses for this story is amazing and really captures the imagination. Just click here https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/1GCM6OIDHB0RG and nominate! Seriously! Do it! Do eeeeet! *puppy-fox eyes*
About the book:
Digital immortality was a fringe benefit.
Pete signed up to have his brain diced, so he could become a better
person. Now he lives in the virtual reality realm of Talespace with
fellow "uploaders" and native AIs. He's a beta-tester for the ruling
AI's experiments, helping both Talespace's buggy new society and the
real world.
Some days he pilots robots on diplomatic missions back "Earthside".
Sometimes he learns magic and battles monsters. Oh, and sometimes he
tries to outwit a rival AI god. It's a pretty good job.
Portions of this book first appeared on TSA-Talk as three stories, which
got greatly revised and expanded on and had a whole new storyline added.
"Coyote" will be available for nomination from June 23 to July 23.

Commission Info
Posted 9 years agoI write things! I also like money! I will therefore write things for money! My price is a flat $10 per 1k words (USD), paid in advance, and you will be given a Google docs link to your story so you can check on it whenever you like. Time it right and you could even watch me write LIVE!
Conditions
I'm trying to keep myself open and not put too many restrictions on what I'm willing to write, though vore is probably the only thing I can think of that I would reject immediately.
If you'd like to commission me or have any questions, please toss me a note or a comment or whatnot!

AMA and Q&A for Gears!
Posted 9 years agoI've been working on fleshing out the Gears setting (i.e: the one with Coby in it) in anticipation of another piece but I'm actually very bad at the whole "idea generation" part of the creative process. I work better when I'm acting in response to something so I thought I'd give this a try.
Feel free to reply with any questions you might have about Coby, Flynn, familiars, the world, the city, magic, or tech, and in answering I'll be able to better build things up.
Here's a link to the first Gears story if anyone hasn't read it: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8442525/

Looking for Players: Dungeons and Dragons 5e - Part 2!
Posted 10 years agoI've had some folks drop out of my Tuesday D&D game and that means there are some slots open if anyone is interested. Current party composition is a ranger, sorcerer, druid, and a paladin DMPC (me) that I'm using to round things out. Current level is 4 and we're running the Tyranny of Dragons campaign (i.e: dragon cultists). We run Tuesdays at 7PM Ontario time (eastern?) and usually go for ~3 hours. We play solely through skype and combat is handled either purely in-text (for minor encounters) or using a google drive grid I made.
A Site I Want To Support (D&D RELATED)
Posted 10 years agoThere's this site called Tribality that I read daily. It's a DnD/Tabletop RPG community that's relatively new but has some good regular features that I enjoy. It offers stuff like homebrew ideas, class designs (they've got a good artificer class for 5e), and do news on DnD developments and even have a History of the Classes feature that goes over how the D&D classes have evolved and changed since the game's start. I want to support them and the least I can do is try and get them some more awareness and stuff, so if you like D&D I recommend giving 'em a look!

Looking for Players: Dungeons and Dragons 5e!
Posted 10 years agoI'm planning on starting a 5e game sometime in the (ideally) near future. It would most likely run on Saturday or Thursday (current leaning is Saturday if it's an either/or) and start at 7 or 8pm eastern. We would be playing on Skype with no voice chat (just text), which has worked surprisingly well for my groups before. Campaign would be a modified version of Princes of the Apocalypse, if that means anything to anyone. If it doesn't, no worries since you don't need to know :P
As mentioned, we'll be doing Skype almost exclusively and this includes combat. When visuals are needed, I just found recently that Google Drive has some good methods of sharing/updating that I'll be using.
Anyone interested?

Raffle Going On! Link Inside
Posted 10 years agoCommission Info Update
Posted 10 years agoSo, now that I've gotten my outstanding projects wrapped up I figured I'd update how commissions work.
-Drop me a note with your preferred subject
-You can set your own word count at 2 cents per word or have me quote a price based on how long I think it will end up.
-I begin work once I receive payment.
-I write in Google Docs. Once I begin writing I will send you a link that you can use to both view and comment on the in-progress story. This lets you offer ongoing feedback on what you'd like to see/not see, make requests about direction/events/characters/etc., or just make silly face emoticons. Or you could just not use it and wait for the finished thing, really up to you.

Price Lowering (Commission)
Posted 11 years agoThose of you who have followed my journals (Hi, Zwei!) know that I've been charging two cents a word for some time, and 1.5 cents on occasion. After some reflection, I've decided that it's in my best interests to lower my prices to a simple one cent per word. I don't think my quality has slipped, but I realize I need to stay competitive. Also: I like ordering food delivery and need a stable pizza fund :D
So basically, you can now get the same stories for half the price and it'll be that way for the foreseeable future. Like always, drop a note on FA or send an email to jonasbelford@live.ca. Enjoy!

Problems resolved so SALE!
Posted 11 years agoI've met my goals so guess what that means? I can have a sale! 50% off until January 15th! That means 1c per word! Toss me a note if interested!
Open for Commissions again!
Posted 11 years agoThings have stabilized in my life at the moment, but I'm trying to shore up some leaks in my finances. Nothing urgent, but I'm trying to raise $500 by January, so every bit helps! To that end: commissions! Two cents per word, quality guaranteed, and regular progress updates! Send a note/comment if interested, or spread the word!
Things! They happened!
Posted 11 years agoSo, lotta stuff's happened in my life recently. Comp broke, got a new lappy, wrestled with new lappy, etc. But it's all better now and I even got a job! Training starts in january :D
Impending 100
Posted 11 years agoI just noticed that I'm at 98 submissions on FA. Any suggestions on what number 100 should be? Best I can think of is some crossover story between Gears, Dreaming, and maybe Terica. Anyone got suggestions?
Doing Requests - Getting Back In [CLOSED]
Posted 11 years agoTrying to get back into the swing of writing, so I'll be taking requests for short pieces (probably no more than 1k words each). So come and get your TF fluff! Don't be afraid to be inventive either!

Fending off the Fox's Fiscal Fall [Comissions OPEN]
Posted 11 years agoThis isn't an emergency per se, but my finances are getting increasingly tighter and are going to start being problematic in a month or so if I can't find a job. To extend this timetable, I'm accepting story comissions again.
-Price is 2c per word. Unlike my prior comissions, this must be paid up-front.
-Most of my past comissions have been TF stories, but this is not a requirement.
-If interested, please send me a note on FA or an email to jonasbelford[at]live.ca
-If anyone needs a technical writer, copywriter, editor, or journalist, I am still looking for work!

Looking for References
Posted 12 years agoI'm looking for pieces that depict characters with unusual body structures (additional limbs, heads etc.) and/or compositions (metal, liquid, plant, etc.). Anything in which the feel or experience ("day in the life") of such a body is described would be a big plus. Obviously, stories would be more helpful than pictures, but I'll take what I can get. Anyone have any reccomended artists?
So What's The Latest FA Scandal, Exactly?
Posted 12 years agoI've noticed more journals popping up about people moving to weasyl and whatnot. At first I thought it was connected to that week long outage, but that happened a while back so I'm not really sure. Did some bit of drama happen recently that I'm not aware of?
Pokemon X/Y Friend Codes! Go on Safari!
Posted 12 years agoWell everyone else is doing it, why not me? My friend code is 1075-0851-4648 and my type is grass. The pokemon in my safari are Quilladin, Swadloon and Sunkern.
Still Taking Comissions
Posted 12 years agoThings have stabilized in my schedule now so if anyone's interested, I can take comissions again.
Price is based on length, but will likely fall within $15-25. I will not charge extra if your story runs longer than the quoted price, and I will refund the difference if it ends up shorter.
Most of my past comissions have been TF stories, but that's not a hard set requirement. Its just what people like from me, it seems.
In a change of policy, I will accept porn comissions. However, please consider what happened the last time I tried that => http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6899429/

Can you Eat a Jellyfish?
Posted 12 years agoOk so this is pretty random I know, but I just got an email from my parents (who are vacationing in Vietnam) and it said they were offered jellyfish when a tour ship captain suggested seafood for lunch. I didn't think jellyfish had any meat on them. Anyone have insight?
