I got robbed! :D
Posted 13 years agoWoo. Someone waltzed in and stole 2 of my roommates laptops, while he was in the place. Fun times.
Told him it was a bad idea to leave the blinds open on the ground floor, (something hes done for YEARS.) And they just snagged the laptops he had in the living room and the adjacent dining room.
None of my stuff was touched, but roommate freaking pretty bad. This is gonna be a fun evening. Hope your collective days are doing better.

Ouch, RUTHLESS little virus just wiped me...
Posted 14 years agoYeah, nasty little virus just completely FRAGGED my comp. Disabled association of .exe files so I couldn't even run backups or programs to save it. The registry and command prompt fixes to try and get THAT up and running again failed miserably. So...yeah, wipe partition and reinstall windows.
But even that wasn't enough.
I run windows off of boot camp on my macbook pro laptop. So when I reinstalled windows, had some ADDITIONAL error that frakked up the installation at an early stage. And apparently, corrupted my macbook side partition, making it completely inaccessible.
Ended up having to unpartition and format the entire drive, and reinstall macOSX AND windows. Fuck man, when it rains it's just end of the world biblical proportions. Guess I should be thankful my motherboard wasn't fried in a power surge or something on top of this to just make the annoyance complete. *Knocks on wood*

L.A. Noire
Posted 14 years agoSo I've never really been able to claim I could read people well. In fact, I'm pretty clueless at being able to read body language. But apparently I'm waaaaay worse than I thought XD I'm averaging at less than 50% correct guesses at interrogations of people in this game. I think I'm too trusting, I keep giving truth when I don't see any apparent flaws in a statement. Any advice on how to spot liars?

A couple notes about the FAQ
For simplicities sake, I will refer to the Main character by his default name of Jake.
And I will be marking Quest info with what you will need to complete the quest like so
Quest Name (Game +, lockpick, boat)
Game+ refers to you having to need to use the Orb to reset the game back to the beginning in order to complete or access the quest. Other items that are required in order to physically finish the game are also listed.
PLEASE NOTE THIS FAQ CONTAINS SPOILERS (DUH)

Food Merchant's Missing Key
Talk to the food merchant in the inn at the Egyptian outskirt town. It seems she went and lost her key, and since she travels a lot it can be almost anywhere. The first time I did this mission I looked all over the egyptian desert and couldn't find it. I'll save you the trouble and tell you now, as soon as you've accepted the mission talk to her again. Seems she left the key in her pocket and rewards you with some pocket change for looking through half a mile of sand dunes for the bloody thing.

A gift fit for a Queen
Jake has impressed Opala by warning her of the assassination attempt, but to woo the Queen further she has asked him to go out and bring back some gifts to please her! You have several items throughout the Egyptian capital that can woo the Queen, but the first run through the game you can find all of the ones you need inside or around the palace itself.
Bring the queen 6 items from this list.
Orange Flowers
Chocolate
Panther plushy
Apple
In Game+ mode you will need to bring her 7 of them I believe, I'll be checking that next time I go through it.
You can see my item FAQ for the list of where to find any of these items.

The Bandit Fortress
North of the town filled with bandits (edit: find name of location), there is a cave. Following through the cave you will eventually come across another teleporter who's location is labeled 'Bandit Fortress'
If you fight your way into the depths of the fortress, and followed the good path and helped Opala imprison her sister, you will come across the bandit leader. He will, as all good villains do, walk away and leave some of his minions to deal with you. If you defeat them and push deeper into the base, you will stumble onto a meeting between the Bandit leader, Velencio the Assassin, and a unknown black knight. After they clearly layout their plan to free Osira, the black knight calls you out. The black knight, as far as I can tell, cannot be beaten. After sufficient damage is done he will begin doing over 15,000 a strike and kill your team. This will not result in a game over, but instead he says you fight with much valor. You get kicked of the fort, and if you go back inside the room is empty except for a couple chests.
This is the final confrontation with the Black knight, The assassin AND the Bandit leader. They make no further appearances in the game. They may however appear in the sequel Gabe was planning to work on.

Naacias Nightmares
Part 1:
To the South East of the Tower of Hades there is a lone stone building with a well outside. If you sleep in the bed upstairs, you will find yourself trapped in a dreamworld and confronted by a twisted fantasy of your parents. You will have several dialogue options, all of which lead to the same results. If you give in and surrender to Naacia's voice, you get a game over. If you resist, you fight Naacia.
Part 2:
After defeating Naacia the first time you will have a random chance of being sucked into the dreamworld again at any time you sleep in a bed. The only bed that does not risk triggering a Naacia encounter is the bed in the guard quarters of the palace in the Egyptian Capital.
The second dream involves you waking up on a dock. After exchanging gibberish dream logic that sounds like a Madlib with the captain you will go down and encounter a naked Opala. You will again be given the choice to resist or give in. If you give in, its game over. If you resist, you will fight her. This time she has the ability to summon dopelgangers of her to help with the fight. Upon defeat Naacia will claim she doesn't care, and she doesn't want your soul anyway and will disappear.
As the same with before, you will have another random chance of encountering Naacia by sleeping in a bed. This time will be a recreation of your first meeting of Farah at the stables, only with a number of things wrong. The werewolf guards will let you pass and Naacia, disguised as Farah, will attend to the needs of one of the animals. You will have the choice of surrendering to her or resisting. As before, surrender means a gameover, and resisting takes you into battle. This battle she will have one of the bulls and several werewolf bodyguards aiding her. Defeat her now and she will cry out she isn't done with you yet just before you wake up.
This ending implies there is another confrontation with her, I have not managed to access it. If anyone has more information, please contribute it.

Pirate Booty Ahoy!
Part 1:
You will have a random chance of being attacked by pirates as you go sailing in your ship. You and your mercenaries will be taken captive. To escape, you need to knock out the guard, then go to the treasure chest and retrieve your equipment. You must then fight your way up the deck. The stupid pirates are quite pathetically weak and should offer no serious resistance. Once on deck, you will be attacked by 4 more pirates while the Captain Bal'Rana (mom) and First Mate Za'Nina (daughter) make their escape. Return to your ship and sail to Egypt to end the first part.
Part 2: After defeating the pirates, you will once again encounter the Bal'Rana and Za'Nina just North of the North exit of the town of Athrosa They will be discussing the treasure maps and fight you when they see you. Defeat the two of them to gain Treasure maps 4 and 5.
This is the final confrontation with the pirates, though Gabe has hinted they will be in a sequel.

Sex Scenes
No, I don't blame any of you for skipping ahead straight to this section >.> I'll be ordering it by partner to make it easier to find whatever coupling you are looking for.
(With images)
Opala
(Opala/Sebastalion/Jake Threeway)
Upon completing the mission "A gift fit for a Queen" Opala will retire to the throne room. When you go into the throneroom, you will run into Sebastalion showing Opala just how much her cares for her. You will get 3 options: Leave the room, join in, or take command and join in. Take option 2 or 3 to initiate the sex scene, which one you choose adjusts how dominant you are in it.
(Opala Orgy (Opala secret scene)) (Only accessible if you side with Opala and not Osira)
After Osira's disappearance from the library, you will have to speak with Opala in the throne room to decide what to do next. Opala will send you out to the desert to find how Osira got to Egypt. Activate the teleporter and make your way to the Greek village. Once you have gone through all the Dialogue turn around and take the teleporter back to egypt. Go to the Palace and head back down the stairs to the dungeon. Take the down stairwell in the dungeon, and then the second one, then through the door past the palace guards. At the end of the hallway you will be in for a treat, and get to watch as Opala makes an appeasement to the gods for another year of fertile land and good harvest ;) (Note this scene will no longer be accessible once you set foot in the Tower of Hades)
(Opala/Dragon) (Only accessible if you side with Osira and not Opala)
You can't miss this one, its a scene you have to at least approach with when following Osira's missions. After Opala's capture, Osira has Ferah and Opala locked in a cage. Ferah is happily nursing on the cocks of many monsters while Opala watches in fascinated horror. Osira reveals her plans, appointing Opala with her new title of 'Size Queen' Opala. You will then have the option to watch as Osira's dragon ravages Opala with a massive golden cock, with Opala living up to her new title by taking it in the rear.
Ferah
(Ferah/Stallion/Jake 3way)
This scene can be reached no matter which person you side with, but must be done before going too far in the game. First, pay Lady Ferah a visit. Head out and stand in front of the Royal Palace. Circle around tot he left of the palace and go up behind it. Around the back you will find the stables, go inside and pay Ferah a visit. It doesn't matter what response you give the guards, they will always let you by. After that, head back south into town and give the Turkish shop a visit. The balls obsessed merchant is giving Lady Ferah a little something to keep her company at night. Speak with Ferah. After that, head back up to the stables once more. This time however the guards are blocking the door. So do what any rational person would do, go jump down the well and come up the secret entrance into the stables. Sneak over and watch Lady Ferah playing with her Stallion, (And son for that matter!) and approach when given the option. You will have the choice of being sneaky about it or just taking charge and being dominant, it only affects how you act in the sex play.
(Ferah/Jake) (Secret Sex Scene)
This scene is activated by completing the 3way with Lady ferah and her stallion. Head back into the palace, go to the guard quarters and sleep in the bed in the single bedroom. Lady Ferah will come give you a morning wakeup call. This scene will no longer work after enough progress has been made in the game, so do it early on.
(Ferah/Monster) (Only accessible if you side with Osira and not Opala)
After you have captured Ferah but failed to capture Opala, report back to Osira at her home. You will find Osira in an arena of sorts where she explains how she will turn Ferah into her sex slave. You will then have a choice between what monster you pair with Ferah, either a 4 legged beast (Cerberus) or something disguising (A Giga Lardo who has never taken a bar of soap to his crotch in its life)
Osira
(Osira/Jake) (Can only be attained if you join Osira and not Opala)
This one is one of the more obvious ones. After completing the mission to capture Ferah, Osira gives you the option to recieve a reward and a punishment, or nothing at all. If you choose the reward option, you will find it to be very rewarding >.>
(Osira/Jake/Orgy) (Can only be attained if you join Osira and not Opala)
This is another mandatory sex scene, you really cant miss the cue for this one >.> After capturing Opala is taken to the dungeon where she is raped by Osira's second in command, Khan the dragon. But during this sequence you will have the option to grab Osira and have your way with her; boiling the whole thing down to a orgy between everyone in the room. Well, everyone except for 2 unlucky guards.
(Osira/Jake) (Secret scene) (Can only be attained if you join Osira and not Opala)
This one is gained at the end of the normal game following Osira's path. When Osira sends you out to kill the elemental guardians, ignore Osiras order to destroy every trace of them. Instead, accept the essence of one or more of the guardians into yourself. Continue the game normally till you defeat the Pharaoh. Osira will channel his dark energy into herself. But she cannot complete the process because you kept one of the guardians energies for yourself. You will be given 2 options to apologize. BUT there is a secret third option beneath them, it has no next but if you press down it will be highlighted. Use it, and you will overpower the weakened Osira and use her as a sex toy. The you will declare yourself pharaoh and take all 3 girls as sex slaves, and force the people of Egypt and Osira's monsters to swear loyalty to you.
Gabe said there are 10 illustrated sex scenes and 1 is available in post game content, but I have not been able to unlock it. If anyone has more info please send me the info on how to unlock the scene so I can add it to the FAQ

Notes: King Corrus cannot be gotten to until you use the Orb to restart the game in Game Plus+ mode. After doing the initial mission, go look up the bounty hunter lady in Greece (Provided you've killed enough Legendary monsters, like at least 75% of them.) If she isn't next the bounty board in Egypt, and a friend of hers is, then she went there. She is in a house to the north of the Greek village. Just follow the paths out the North exit till you get to a T intersection that leads continuing to the west, or goes down to the south. Follow it south to a house, that until now has been empty. Talk to her, she gives a sob story about how her family was killed by the badass monster, and she is now going off alone to fight it and avenge them, and you are to stay away. Ignore her, and go up to the snowy area. To the west of the area you initially teleported to the snow realm, there is a cave that was until now blocked by a boulder. Go inside and you will find her and the last legendary monster. Careful, hes 99,999 health, LOVES using the 'Mass punishment' spell. Bring potions. :)

Health: 99,999
Spirit: 9,999
Weakness: None
Location: Snowy region, West of the area you first teleport into the snow area. Cave is blocked by a boulder until you begin a quest with the bounty hunter who mainly resides in Egypt by the bounty board. See notes for full details.
Creating 3 Legend of Opala FAQ's
Posted 15 years agoI'm putting together this journal as an FAQ for
gabe's lovel RPG game: The Legend of Queen Opala. In the few days since she posted the release of the game, the official journal has gotten over 300+ comments, with a fair portion of them questions from people having trouble with the game.
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, go see for yourself on Gabe's Journal!
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1459340/
Since Gabe went through all the work of making the game, I thought I'd go through the trouble of making an FAQ to help players get through it. I hope to include information on the location of items; (such as paintings, moon stones, Eye of Horus') , information to aid on side missions, finding the sex scenes, and defeating Legendary monsters. I'm also adding information on some things that weren't to clear to me on my own play through of the game, such as Status effects. In the beginning this FAQ will be fairly jumbled since I'm still acquiring the information to fill it in, but I'll be editing and formatting it as I go along.
If anyone has any questions about the game, or has any information to contribute please leave a post in the journal ^_^ I'll be editing this journal as I go and adding info and attempting to answer questions that are asked. But it'll take a bit of time because it will likely require several breakthroughs on my part to find everything. Thank you for any help you can contribute and I hope the FAQ will prove useful.
I'll be making a separate journal for questions related to General FAQ, missions and item scavenger hunts respectively, since the topics will probably lead to lengthy journals. I'm doing this in journal format so it is easy to edit on the go and so it is easy for people to contribute their own input. I'll be posting the 3 journals up shortly!

News on my mom
Posted 15 years agoWell, this is certainly a surprise. Some of you may remember me talking about my mom, she died a year and 3 months ago. She requested her body be donated to medical science, which we did and gave her to a medical university.
Well we just received a letter in the mail. It would seem that the funeral home and crematorium that the university had a contract with just had its license suspended a few days ago for alleged deficiencies. The university was contracting this funeral home to handle transport of the remains for cremation.
My mothers body has not yet been used for study by medical students, but its still rather unnerving to know that the people who were to be handling her body just had their license removed for alleged deficiencies in their practices. I thought this was over and done with; hell, I thought her body would have been used before a year passed for that matter. The letter says that it will be used by students within the coming year however.
Rather fucked up wake up call after so much time has passed. I know its only a body, but I'd like to think they were doing things by the book when dealing with the remains of someone I loved dearly ._.;

My mom has died
Posted 16 years agoI was informed several minutes ago. 11:27 pm, by phone my mom has died in the hospital. They were trying to contact us and couldnt for whatever reason, so her oncology doctor called the house directly. Because of this I dont know how long ago she died, but I imagine it couldnt be to long ago. I'll write more on the subject tomarrow, right now I dont think it has really sunk in enough to make a statement.
Well its over now.
Posted 17 years agoMy mom has decided to end the chemotherapy, she cant take the side effects any longer. She is likely being moved to an in-care facility later this week and basically wait it out until she dies. There probably gonna shift away from trying to cure her to making her comfortable until her body gives out.
-Edit- Well this might not get to this point, they are doing 2 more weeks of cemotherapy to determine IF it is doing anything. If it works she may be able to spend some time at home, if it isnt she is probably gonna be stuck at the intermediary care facility till she dies. Well find out in about 2 weeks.

Well, my Ma is gonna die...
Posted 17 years ago*Sighs* Its hard to imagine that she is really gonna die. And probably dosen't have that much longer till that point. To some of my closer friends, you already know whats going on. To anyone else who wants to know:
About a year ago my ma was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. She has been on chemotherapy twice now to fight it off, and for a good 4 months or so it looked like she had really stabilized. They had to stop the chemo though, because it was killing off her bone marrow, and its very difficult to start the bone marrow production again if it goes down. So they laid off the chemo for a while in lieu of killing off her red and white blood cell production.
Several weeks ago they started chemotherapy again by pill. There were the usual signs of nasuea and whatnot that come with chemo. But a two weeks ago, she started throwing up so much taht she couldnt keep food, drink or medicine down, and after 4 days of this finally had to go to the hospital. After about another 4 days of being on IV and such, they belive that the cancer growths are blocking her liver in some way, preventing her from being able to digest food. With nowhere for the food to go, she just ends up throwing it back up. They have also confirmed that the type of cancer she has isnt going to be readily treatable. They can chase it, but frankly there is little hope of driving it off forever. So its pretty much just a matter of time now. Possibly as little as weeks if they cannot deal with the growth obscuring digestion, because they cant keep her alive on IV alone forever.
I should be happy I suppose, she beat the odds. The oncology doctor said when it was diagnosed she would probably only have months to a year to live. Its been over a year and she is still with us, for what that is worth.
