I have no idea. I haven't been actively posting here in a long time due to my frustrations with the way the site has been run (and the fact that life has gotten in the way of my artistic works), but frankly if nobody else is going to leave why should I even bother? I have a lot of new art waiting to be posted and it just kinda gets dead silence on Weasyl or FurryNetwork. It would be very helpful for me to sell some more commissions as the school semester winds down, money is tight and I don't know if my current lab tech position extends into the summer.
I do miss the old days in 2012 or whatever when I was super active on here, I've moved on substantially to twitter for my social media presence, but having an art-centric social community is something I think back on fondly.
So, tell me your thoughts! And I guess, let me know if anyone here missed me? haha.

Posted 11 years agothought i'd make a little quip of a journal about it, right now it seems like I'm almost definitely not going to Furpocalypse, and MFF is looking like a 30% chance right now as well. :c
that's the bad news.
the good news is.....
FurTheMore happens to fall a couple days after my birthday, and I'm taking advantage of it to throw the most hellacious birthday party ever B) Not sure exactly what that'll entail, but if you want to be invited just let me know! I'll probably have a cake, music, generic party food and drinks, booze maybe, I dunno. It should be fun! And you don't have to bring a gift, but it is cool as heck if you choose to <3 you could also go the route of bringing food/drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) for everyone to share, that would be very thoughtful.

I'm running a little special now, since i'm trying to scrape up the cash to make it out to Furpocalypse.
For only 8 USD, you can have your very own headshot badge by me, pencil sketched with some simple marker coloring (the character in the badge example was mostly greyscale to begin with, with just blue eyes, so that's the only colored bit, but if your character is a little more flashy then I can do a bit more color than that for sure!), backed and accented with scrapbook paper, and laminated and shipped out to you! Extra shipping costs do apply if you're outside the continental US, but they shouldn't exceed more than a couple dollars extra.
If you can't buy or don't want to, I would really appreciate a signal boost! Lately most of my income has been going towards car repairs, since my beat up old Volvo is sort of in its death throes x~x getting away from classes and work and car troubles for a weekend in October would really be great, and since I don't think I can afford MFF as things are running I'd at least love to make it out to this con. a two character YCH type deal, where my character is preset as one and the second slot goes to whoever bids highest.
The artist would keep all the money from the bids, of course, and I would pay the remaining balance of the price if the YCH didn't reach up to normal price. Meaning if the commission hypothetically cost $60 originally, and nobody bid on it, I'd pay the full $60, but if the winning bid exceeded $60 I wouldn't pay anything. And if the winning bid was anywhere in between $1 and $60 I'd pay up the rest to get to $60, if that makes sense
Would anyone be up for something like this? I'd feel weird approaching an artist to ask for it since it's a strange arrangement and I feel it might come off kinda... scammy/cheap of me? Even though I absolutely intend to keep this a fair and legitimate transaction. Truthfully, I'm just shy about negotiation. I feel like it'd be a good arrangement for both the artist and myself, since I would get art of my character in any case (and possibly at a discount) and the artist would get any amount of money starting at what they normally charge, and possibly going up from there. And a third party would also get the possible chance for discounted art of their character (at my expense, but hey however it turns out I'd still be happy because I'd get art, at the absolute worst just at normal price)

I love you all so much though omg this con was really really rad
I got to debut my new suit, commissioned and traded a ton of art, partied A BUNCH, and of course met so many amazingly fantastic furs!
Seriously, it's like some kind of Moore's Law of cons: THE FUN DOUBLES WITH EVERY ONE. Every time, they get exponentially more fun and exponentially more social and exponentially more exciting, and I can't wait to see what next time has in store! <3
Like not even the fire alarm could put a damper on that con. It was the most amazing time! Programming could have used a little (or a lot) more video/tabletop gaming events IMO, and I actually missed the fursuit games bc I don't think it was in the conbook? But those are the only complaints I can even think to lodge. It was a really good time, at least for me. I hope it was equally good for everyone else!
Also, if anyone has photos or video or whatever of my newly debuted suit (bc I do know i posed for photos, COME ON YOU GUYS UPLOAD EM D8) I would really appreciate a link/file! I'm just really proud of it omg my suit is like my baby and i do kinda wanna show it off.
As far as next cons go, I don't think I'll be making it out to Furpocalypse. It's just not financially feasible, I've had this random spat of car troubles literally within the past couple days (too late to cancel my FAU plans but repairs are still pricy :c) including my radiator deciding to chase it's lifelong dream of becoming a functioning water fountain. Soooooo lotta stuff to fix there. But, I may be making it out to MFF this year (mainly bc i just really wanna hang out with
ileum ) so if that does happen it'll be really fantastic!

Posted 11 years agoSo yeah, like the title line says, i am thankfully still employed! Currently I'm working on getting ready for FAU. I have the days off, finding a room/ride buddy is the issue, I'm still a little financially sapped from AC and can't afford to pay off the whole shebang on my own this time around. However, I just might have a roomie/rideshare, I'm still waiting on a response from him :/ but yeah, I thought i'd test the waters and see if anyone else was possibly going?
Dumped and (possibly) fired. Can this day get worse?

I won't know whether I've been actually fired or not til I go to work tomorrow, but it looks very probable rn. Basically I made an irresponsible error that the assistant manager who doesn't like me very much saw, she's pretty livid, and I'm pretty sure they're waiting to see me in person to can me.
This isn't good because I was counting on the next two weeks of working 60 or 70+ hours to pay for FA United. So if they do fire me, I probably won't be going. I really really want to go and I'll try to make it work, but I just don't know
I'm also feeling really really emotionally screwy over the fact that I was broken up with last night. I think I'm handling it well, much better than I've handled it in the past, but it's just a process inherently full of sadness. Don't be surprised if I mope for a few days

basically i hung out with a bunch of furs and made new friends and bought way more stuff than i should have. maybe drank a little more than i should have too (blame tonic, their drinks are too good -A-), but everything still went really well! my only regret was not hangin out with a few people i intended to, and not really going to that many panels. Still an amazing time though!
I also may have spent an entire paycheck on realistic fursuit supplies but hahaha welllllll you'll just have to wait and see what comes of that B3
