Irregular Wednesday Watch #22
Posted 17 years agoThere are some folks I'd like to watch. So, a few silent watches might be in order, and I'll lavish praise later. Nah, I'll just go with what I've got today.
First up, a guy with a memorable style and for certain a knack for drawing all manner of big ol' critters: Nick Wolf.
Next, a guy who's drawn some very good material, and that sometimes is worthy of the great comments he's given for artwork that appeals to him. I speak of Starfig.
Next, a guy who's drawn fat furs very well for years, and kept a jovial attitude about it as well: Fanimal.
Finally, a really good inflation and fat artist who sure keeps the cuteness coming in his work, Blue Crow.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #21
Posted 17 years agoI finally got the nerve to upload an icon. It's a screen-grab from a video among others that tofer7 has kindly put on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCtJ0I5gHR4
I flipped a virtual coin to see whether I'd upload that one or one I got from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Dzy3JxckgI
They're both quite good.
Let's see, now whom should I watch this week? Perhaps I'll make it a good link from the announcement and my icon. His style is as expressive and well-crafted as we like in cartoons and comics. Round of applause for Pokelai.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #20-B: Friday Morning Express Edition
Posted 17 years agoThis week's recipient has a very good way of drawing both fat and muscle, and cute results thereof. I'll expand on that later for Mr. Charlie Labrador.
Weekly Wednesday Watch #19: Morning Edition
Posted 17 years agoI've had this one planned for two weeks. Better get the next one planned as well.
His across-the-pond wit and jovial personality show in his stories, comments, and artwork, all of which are done quite well. This is the tubby, talented Lupine.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #18
Posted 17 years agoI saved this for the former's b-day, which, thanks to LiveJournal, I figured out was this coming Sunday, and I also decided that I'd acknowledge that the latter's was also on Sunday.
I liked his drawings years ago, and although he hasn't drawn as much recently, his comments, journals, and other written contributions to the community more than make up for that by showing his interesting personality and outlook on life, as well as his affable, sportsmanlike nature. A plain vessel carries the big and blubbery, red and rubbery dragon we know as Tombfyre.
Finally, his commentary, his sidenotes for others, and many things he says in general are insightful, educated, interesting, and valuable to the community and to the artwork or journal on which he comments. He is the "wolfish," in his words, Wanderer.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #17: Jumbo Saturday Edition
Posted 17 years agoI haven't added any names to the watch list in three and a half weeks, so I've decided to do a load of them. Here they are, in alphabetical order.
With a memorable drawing style and a penchant for drawing fat, inflated, and/or radically transforming furs, he also shows the way with words that comic artists often have. Here's Alex Mancheno of Bent Propeller Productions.
An InflatioNational for eight years and an artist I've admired for most of my experience in the furry fandom, even back when the IN was on GeoCities, he has hundreds of pictures and tens of thousands of words in stories in his background, both with a good kind of wit and a cultivated style. That he's now commenting on others' work and letting others comment on his is a good accessory to his contribution to the fandom that we finally get to see on such a scale as this. I salute Captain Furry.
Finally, we have another guy with a recognizable style and a positive attitude. He draws fat very well, colors very well, and shows motion and emotion very well. His outside-the-box (sometimes outside-the-planet) approach is different enough for me to have almost gotten into a scrape with him without meaning to. Dragomike, everyone.
I already have a pair planned for next week, so stay tuned.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #16
Posted 18 years agoI thought I'd already added a story from the next subject of my Weekly Wednesday Watch to my fav's yesterday alongside Fang's "Badge," but since I didn't, I'll fave another one of his works.
Anyway, a talented writer of some feel-good stories, this individual has earned admiration across the board for those who share his speciality. I present, if I may, Blimp Wolf.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #15: Thursday Edition
Posted 18 years agoWell, last week, I decided on who'd be watched this week. For anything further, I don't know.
Anyway, this next guy is an appreciator of the muscular bodies and an ace at drawing them. This is Artizek.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #14
Posted 18 years agoIt was only four nights ago that I added Fanimal watch list, so I might be slighting him.
For this week, it was a hard decision, one over the other, but I've got it.
With a well-developed skill for drawing fat furs -- especially the ones whose natural-world counterparts are quite big -- and every fold of fat they carry, he has a good standing in my book. Ladies and gentlefurs, Pachyman.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #14: Have I even thought about it?
Posted 18 years agoI'd like to give someone a watch, maybe. There are so many I could watch. But I haven't really prepared any paragraphs, as I usually do. So, I'll have an idea later today, maybe?
Weekly Wednesday Watch #13: Friday Night Edition
Posted 18 years agoThe next person whom I'll watch is responsible for some very good works about big, fat furs who really look great in his distinctive style. His witty comments also add something good to the community. I would've added his name on Tuesday, when I fav'd one of his images, but for some reason I decided to wait. Fanimal, everyone.
Christmas placeholder
Posted 18 years agoI regret to say that I don't really have a fav for today planned. I'll be playing board games with the family tonight.
Anyway, merry Christmas, everyone, and maybe, just maybe, I'll have a watch for tomorrow. I dunno.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #12
Posted 18 years agoIt's hard to decide whom to add to the watch list each week, but I'll get to you whenever I see fit.
That being said, this guy is very good at drawing and coloring. His transformation pics are awesome, and his style is all his own. My Weekly Wednesday Watch for this week goes to Kuma.
So, uh, Merry Christmas, everyone.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #11
Posted 18 years agoI know I'd better start making a list of those I'll eventually add to my favorites and the artists I'll eventually watch.
By the way, back in watch 8, I gave Blue the honor, but never gave him the watch. I fixed that in giving him watch 10.
For watch 11, I picked from the list of bookmarks somewhat randomly. I'd been really reviewing the comments on his art lately anyhow, so why not? He has a well-developed style, a tendency to make his work charming, and admirable knowledge of fursuit making from start to finish. Oz Kangaroo, you've done well.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #10
Posted 18 years agoThis one goes out to a prolific artist who has hundreds of pics in several galleries, many of them consistently good. He does them with a jolly good attitude, too. I'm talking about Blue.
Weekly Wednesday Watch #9: Six Days After Thanksgiving Editi
Posted 18 years agoIn the span of five days, from last Thursday to this Tuesday, I took my new laptop home and liked some of the games that came with Vista, got the anti-virus stuff on it after bringing it to the other house again, and brought it back only to see that Web browsing was unsatisfyingly slow. Look up "Vista is slow" in a search engine and your suspicions about Vista will be confirmed, at least about it being slower on the web than XP, especially when the ones who lived next door last year moved away recently and my mother figures they took the WiFi with them. Web browsing has its moments at my house; they just come more slowly. Over here with my laptop (I'm at Dad's right now), I view 200 pages in two hours; over there, I view 40 pages in 6 hours. But that's an extreme case.
Last Thursday, I meant to fave an image that might have been quite appropriate for Thanksgiving and add the one who did it to my watch list. That's when I saw that FA was moving servers. Well, I'm doing all that today. I'll add to the watch list someone who draws some really cute stuff. He sure does well with fat furs, and excels at making his character pull off amazing moves and look good in several outfits. He is Gill Panda.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #8
Posted 18 years agoThe next recipient of my watch is a prolific artist with a great style and a jolly good tone. Whether it's fat or inflation, Blue can get the job done.
Weekly Wednesday Watch #7: Thursday Edition
Posted 18 years agoEverything Cooner does is really good, whether or not it's muscle-related. His technique is quite good, and I admire his consistency. I'm giving him the watch for this week.
Weekly Wednesday Watch #6: Halloween Edition
Posted 18 years agoI've been adding pics about werewolves and/or transformations to my favorites, so for this Wednesday, upon which Halloween happens to fall, I ought to give the watch to one who's skilled with nice-looking creatures as such. He has such detail in his pictures and does such good work with his brushstrokes that his art might be a must-see for me. I'm not on a howling kick, but I've got to think of some sentence in which to mention Solidasp.
Weekly Wednesday Watch #5: Tuesday Edition
Posted 18 years agoI thought I'd give the next Weekly Wednesday Watch a day early.
The one I honor this week is very good with the fat and the inflated. Just about everything about his style is top-notch. Raccoon Drew, everyone.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #4
Posted 18 years agoSeveral artists I haven't yet watched on FA will eventually get that honor.
This week, it's gonna be a creative and skilled individual that I've checked on several times since my days of quietly lurking on FA. Many fat fur admirers know about and applaud his work, and he returns the favor. For quite a while, he's been "the Lord of the Lard," and one can say he's earned that peerage.
This one goes to Tolstoy.

Weekly Wednesday Watch #3
Posted 18 years agoMy next watch goes out to someone whose earlier work I've admired since I saw it on the IN or SirKain's gallery before the crash of 2004, and whose later work I've appreciated since pretty much the first time I lurked on FA. He has good-looking works, and his enthusiasm for inflation is unmatched for the most part.
Give it up for Rubbertex Raccoon.

Posted 18 years agoTuesday night, this is what I wrote in my notebook, word for word, paragraph by paragraph, except for something in brackets. I'd purposely left some things out when I had to draw from memory yesterday in order to just give a preview.
[start]
I learned a lesson on Fur Affinity today.
I don't know what it is, but I have some clues.
On Wednesday [Sept. 26], I came up with the idea for a questionnaire that could've provided some degree of entertainment. On Thursday, I continued to ponder the questionnaire. On Friday, I wrote an embryonic list of questions. On Saturday, I reported on dA that I had come up with that list. On Sunday and Monday, I continued thinking about it. On Tuesday, I refined the list and wrote out a list of eight to send private messages. When I got to the computer, I typed the questionnaite. Not long after, I sent separate messages to all eight. I felt like I was going to regret it. I felt like I was harassing the recipients. I'd even thought about how some wouldn't answer. Hours later, I got a reply that I could only answer with "Nevermind" like someone on the phone with a stranger or a dial-tone. I've thought about it, and it made clear that I'd gone overboard, that I was out of my league, that I hadn't given thinking my questionnaire through enough time, and that this was pointless. Here I was, just some other guy, asking individuals with experience in the community questions about their characters, while I had no solid fursona and had only been speaking in the community for a year and change. I don't want to seem stupid, overconfident, or bothersome. If I do, I'm sorry. On the off chance that someone actually does answer my questions, and I'm not asking anyone to do so, even though I just had the questionnaire and no real introduction or conclusion, I thank you for your time.
But I know that I've got to start small. That's what the "fetish" in my questionnaire is all about.
[end]
Well, yesterday, I saw that one of these guys answered my questions. They're interesting answers, and it's good to see this handled with one's own perspective and methods. That's the purpose of questionnaires. They might be brought down as memes, but in this case, I'm not using "tagging," so it's more voluntary than "tagging."
The one who answered is one of my inspirations for the questions, so I knew some of the answers already, but I liked seeing the way they were answered. If any of the other eight on the list respond, it should be interesting to see theirs.
Anyhow, school's OK, even though gym is still tough, and I realize I have several assignments.

Delusions, preview version
Posted 18 years agoI learned a lesson yesterday on Fur Affinity. I don't quite know what it was, but here's the story. A week ago, I thought up a concept for a questionnaire that might be of some entertainment value. On Friday, I wrote an embryonic list of questions. On Saturday, I announced that I'd take action on the questionnaire. On Tuesday, I refined the list. When I got to the computer, I typed up the questionnaire and sent it to eight FA users. I felt like I was going to regret this. I felt a little like I was harassing these individuals. I'd even thought before that I'd be bothering some of them. Hours after I sent the private messages, I got a reply from one of the users that I could only answer with "nevermind," like hanging up a telephone.
That reply made some things clear to me, and last night, I thought about what to say they were. It put things into perspective, and it made me realize that I was out of my league, that I needed to think it through a little more, and that this was pointless. If I come across as stupid, overconfident, or annoying, I'm sorry. But if you took the time, although I'm not asking you to, thank you.
I don't have my notebook with me, so I'll type what I have prepared next time. It's much better and more thorough.
And just as I type this, I've actually gotten a response by private message. Wow.

One I had planned for Wednesday
Posted 18 years agoSorry I couldn't be here in the last four days. Seems that the G key being off the computer is the reason the laptop wasn't sent in. For more on what I've been doing, check out the DA journal I have.
Here's something I last modified on the 25th at 12:23 PM:
[start]
My idea for a schedule is to set it up so that I add three werewolf-related pictures to my honors list every day before, during, and after the full moon.
This week, though, so as not to interfere with my Weekly Wednesday Watch, I've decided to just do the Full Moon Favorites for the days before and after. Why can't I do a WWW for a were artist, though? Because I kinda owe it to someone else, and I want to feature works by the recipient of the WWW every Wednesday.
That someone is a good artist and a good writer who does quite well at showing his perspective through his work and his comments. He's shown us an interesting vision of the future, a number of hundred-foot latex creatures, and many things in the areas of dinosaurs, aircraft, and more. He returned my watch on dA, and, almost immediately after I set up my page and first journal on FA, was the first to watch me. I'm talking about Varus Argo. Here's to you!
[finish]
OK. I'll start again on daily favorites, say, two weeks from now at the latest. I have a pile of stuff on my dA watchlist, and I'm gonna keep the rest of you waiting. Sorry.
