Posted 9 years agoI am not going to reopen commissions (aside from the occasional sketch stream, but I'm doubtful of even that) until I'm in a more stable position in life and know for sure I won't be delaying work for months on end.
ANYBODY waiting for a commissions from me right now, please message me if you'd just like a refund at this point. Otherwise I'm going to be doing my best to power through what's left of my queue.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience, but I'm currently working 6 days a week and spending my one day off working on moving out and into an apartment with my platonic life partner. (Pretty soon here there's a heavy likelihood I'll be working 7 days a week, so I'm really trying to get everything done BEFORE that)
I took on A LOT more work than I could get through very quickly, but I'll be doing as much as I can in what free time I have. I still have all of my traditional commissions from MFF written down, and all digital commissions saved with ref sheets and *at least* rough sketches on my old laptop, I do not believe I should be missing anybody. If you have any concerns, please contact me, I would be happy to discuss with you a plan so we're both happy.

Posted 9 years agoJust really really busy, between working 6 days a week and dealing with a lot of dumb shit irl (adulting is hard) I really haven't had any time to do anything artistic past dumb doodles in the rare moments I do have
Past couple of days I've been very very ill but I think it's finally passing (must be my steady diet of cold pizza toppings off the makeline at work and coffee)
But, uh, I somehow managed to get the time off (as much as it hurts my paycheck) to go have a chill weekend with friends in Chicago for the Zootopia screening that MFF is hosting March 4th. I've really been needing something like this, so hopefully it'll help with my mental shit that's been getting worse recently.
Idk, I'm sorry I've been so absent and I swear I've been working on commissions when I get more than like five minutes to art (honestly if I have to call in to work tomorrow, which is a distinct possibility, I'll likely work on commissions all day if I can manage it)

This con was one of the most fun times I've had at a convention, I met a few really cool people, took commissions in artist alley, and generally just had a very chill time.
I was happy that I got to spend a lot of time with both

as well as 
and Ez just made for the best convention ^^
I wasn't as out there and social as normal at this one, but I'm not upset with the fact, I pretty much spent the whole weekend teasing somebody, which was a really fun way to show off my wit (or lack-there-of)
I didn't go crazy with spending, just got a new tail and ears as well as a couple art dolls and a new collar (which it turns out I am VERY allergic too)
Overall this convention was very calm and nice, now I have to go back to the real world in which I have 4 overdue digital commissions and 5 traditional >~< and work everyday this week XS

Posted 10 years agoI am officially saving up the Give or Take $500 I need to afford to get to, stay at, and get home from *drumroll* MIDWEST FURFEST!!
I just confirmed that if I can get there I HAVE A ROOM so now I just need to make sure I can both afford to get there and pay my part of said room. ;U;
(Currently searching for a ride share, but I'm calculating the cost of a plane ticket currently in my calculations, just in case I can't find a ride)
I'll be finishing my commission queue and opening commissions officially for the first time in years, hopefully I can at least make some of what I need, every little bit helps ;U;

I've got two large commissions in my queue to finish and about $45 committed money at this point, but starting now I am not buying any art of characters (of the pain) because I really really need to be saving. I will be paying the artists that I owe and then I don't get to spend ANY more money on art until after (or during lol) con ;U;

Midwest Furfest is one of my main goal cons (And the most realistic, since Midwest, I live there) It's also the closest con to being my birthday con, this year also happens to be my 21st birthday (Which just makes me want it more, oops)
I was planning on going before, well, before my ex dumped me, kicked me out, I lost a really good job that actually paid over minimum wage, and I basically cut off all of my friends from that circle (Or they cut me off *coughs*)
So in being dropped and dropping others (Though, not permanently ) means that I've lost my room, my ride, and safe company for con... I still really want to go, I mean, I gave up my local furry con because of this break-up, and I don't particularly want to give up something else that I've been excited about...
I don't expect anything to come of this journal, but w/e I'll post t regardless, I was wondering if anybody has a room opening (I would like to chat with you at length first I mean) or room in a car (coming from or going through Minnesota) feel free to contact me??

But we just transferred the title and I finally paid off my moped today ;U;
The better part of my day off was spent at the DMV but YOU KNOW WHAT?? IT WAS WORTH IT.
I have updated the tabs, gotten the title transfer, paid off the last $150 (That's a lie I still owe $50) and tomorrow I will be looking into getting my 30 day permit before I can get my licence!
I should have everything figured out 100% within the next month and I FEEL GREAT
I officially own my Moped and I should be able to legally drive it within the next month, meaning I can start seeking out jobs further away than the 1/2 mile I walk to get to Domino's ;U;
I feel so accomplished hhhhh

Posted 10 years agoMy seasonal summer job at an ADORABLE BEACH SIDE RESTERAUNT ended on Sunday, clean up was Monday for front of house and Tuesday for the kitchen (I assisted with both ofc) and it's really upsetting to know I'm not going back to Sandcastle for another 6 months or so ;^;
I'm on full time at Dominos again (starting today... in like... two hours) as well as seeking a morning job, so in theory I'll be doing nothing but working and sleeping for the next 6 months when Fae Fae and I are moving in together, so HOPEFULLY I'll get my savings up quite a lot, only paying for rent and the occasional coffee up at Avant...
Idk I'm going to be really slow uploading art for the next few months, I am not taking commissions of ANY TYPE in this time, the only way to get anything (that isn't a gift) from me for a while is going to be through one or two slot journals and YCHs...
I'm sad and lonely and blegh. I'm likely not going to have the time or energy to visit Fae Fae for a while eitther and ughh adulting is hard >_>
(I will probably be buying more art than I should in that time, and ofc I won't stop drawing completely)

I'm hoping to raise a bit of money for my household, as with me having to come home my family is in a pretty tight place financially, I am working a part time job as well and dropping most of my paychecks with them, but I feel like I should be helping out even more, so I figured this would be worth trying! ONE pin-up commission OPEN
Posted 10 years agoI rarely take commissions, preferring to stick to just drawing my own and friend's characters... BUT I've been wanting to do more pin-ups again recently and am looking for a new model to draw!
I don't have very reliable wi-fi so it would be preferable to get a bite on this TONIGHT [8-8-15] since tonight I am at my mother's home since she's getting married tomorrow, and therefore I actually have wi-fi ^^
I am mostly interested in working with female characters (Any size/shape, though I am more familiar with twiggy, curvy, and slightly chubby characters, but will try *most* any shape) I would absolutely be willing to do a cutie boy pin-up, so long as you don't mind me giving your boy hips ;3 (I would also rather not draw any genitals, though we can discuss)
I would actually really enjoy some bonded or leashed/collared pin-ups. I will try most light kinks (Not into shaming, I just don't have much confidence in extremely sexual images)

Anybody interested in a custom whip?
Posted 10 years agoMy roommate and I have recently discovered the joys of whip making, I've been treating it mostly as stress relief, but we are planning on selling custom snake whips for around $150 a piece. I'll have examples of our/my finished work up soon.
They're just basic snake whips, each made by hand out of parachute cord. I'm working on getting better with making them and will upload images of finished ones soon. I'll likely be setting my Etsy back up for this endeavor as well.

Posted 10 years agoMy Christmas gift this year was a camera (I also spent the past week and a half and will spend the next week and a half with my girlfriend) I am super excited, after my camera got stole at Pride this past summer I've been trying to find the extra funds to buy one, I'm extremely overjoyed to have gotten one ;U;
I'm working on figuring out how to connect it to a Tumblr account with auto-post. It has the option for Facebook, Picasa, Dropbox, and Youtube... but no Tumblr, that I can find BUT I WILL FIGURE IT OUT OHMAN (Though if anybody has an idea throw it at me ;3 )

Posted 11 years agoI won't say why until after I've done it, but I'm currently trying to raise as much money as I can possibly manage.
I'll be mass uploading character designs for the next few weeks, I'll only be doing a few YCHs at this point, since I don't have a huge amount of time to be doing art (job, blehg) and with designs they're already finished, so I don't have to worry about forgetting or anything ^^
The only possibility for art from me for a while (except friendie friends) is either taking a higher price deal on an adoptable (And I'll draw them again to a Halloween theme for the buyer) or by winning one of my YCH auctions.
I feel weird trying to raise money this way, but for what I'm doing, I need money before my next paycheck, and I doubt my next few together would even be as much as I need.

Okay, I figured that since I've reached a lull in my suddenly active social life I may as well post a little update.
On the art front, I have been doing traditional art pretty much exclusively for the past few weeks, since carrying my laptop is more cumbersome than carrying a sketchbook... I am also taking crazy discounted traditional commissions for the next couple weeks for people willing to buy/send me new sketchbooks and/or inking pens, erasers, pencils, ect (I would happily send finished traditional art if you pay shipping, unfortunately I cannot afford anything right now, I have about 50 cents to my name at the moment.
Okay, onto why I've been gone, and will probably remain gonna for a while; I suddenly seem to have found myself surrounded by people who WANT to spend time with me and actively do so, when I'm not socializing I'm trying my best to bike and run as much as possible, as well as read in outside at any given time (I am burnt to a crisp rn) I'm basically just taking advantage of what's left of the summer.
I AM trying to check my fA, dA, PetRPG, and Skype daily, but keep in mind my replies might be on the so I side, I am not avoiding or ignoring anybody, just trying to live in the real world for a while.
I am on Art-Fight and doing my best to counter all attacks! But I'm really only doing traditional art for it. (I'm Jyris on Art-Fight)
Uhhh I will try to spend a bit of time catching up on everything on Sunday, but no earlier, my weekend is very full. I figured an explination was way overdue ^^ I've got one outstanding commission on my side fA that I will be trying to finish Sunday (all I have to do is finish shading -and drawing the commissioners free simple chibis because I've taken way too long ugh I am such trash)

Posted 11 years agoI need to start saving money like crazy again because it just hit me that Furry Migration is in less than a month and a half and I STILL haven't gotten my registration!!! There's also the matter of actually being able to pay my share of the room fee, getting fur for Pixie, and of course, food money for during con... oh and lets not forget some extra money to throw at artists at con!!

I'm not really sure how I'm gonna be able to raise all of this in such a short amount of time??? I mean, I don't /need/ to have my Pixie suit before con, but I would prefer to! I have a job that I'll -most likely- be getting (Connections are nice) but I dunno how much I'll be working or if my goal is even sort of reachable before then...
I'll start posting up YCHs again soon, I just have some commissions I need to get out of the way first (I am such trash) but I also need to get a replacement SS card and it's super confusing and stressful going about doing that and I just //sigh//
I also am wayyyy nervous to go to such a small community based convention, as of yet, I've been way to nervous to go through with going to an MNFurs meet-up, I mean, I chat on the site and post on the forums, but that's pretty different than actually knowing people. I just, I dunno, I've only ever been to bigger conventions, ones where I just meld into the background and take pictures... I don't know how likely I'll be able to that at a smaller first year con.
I dunno, I'm kind of just really stressed right now and it's all manifesting itself in the worst ways.

Posted 11 years agoOkay, so temporarily using my mom's laptop until I can get mine fixed. Working on figuring out a way to transfer WIP files (For the Summer Exchange mainly) without having to worry about them being infected, as I'm not super willing to ick up my mom's computer.
In case you hadn't noticed, I -am- working on and posting art again, I have my tablet installed as well as a good copy of SAI on this computer, so I don't have to worry so much about not being able to get work finished, my only issues at this point are images that I had started previously...

Posted 11 years agoMy computer is very on the fritz and I dont know when or if I'll be able to get it fixed. I'll still be able to get art done (thank gods) but Furaffinity is one of the sites my computer won't let me connect to, I cant log in on my computer, I've tried multiple browsers and nothing is going through. So thankfully I can write journals from mobile. My Deviantart is still working on my computer so I should still be able to post commissions and requests, and I can post work on Tumblr through my phone as well.
But I won't be post in on fA until I can get it fixed, which with hopefully be soon! But I dont know.
On Chrome its "SSL connection errors" and on Firefox its "Connection interruption errors"
I dont know how to fix it and I've done everything I can think of to no avail v_v
(I will be posting art I would otherwise post here on either the Tumblr account "Backwards-Dog-Puberty" or "Jyris"

Posted 11 years agoPost a reference and a pose idea (I'd love to draw some cuties with Jyris or Ginger) I'd be more likely to do pinups, but feel free to request anything. If you dont specify bits or not your character will likely have bits (if female) keep in mind and if bits on your character would make you uncomfortable, tell me and I'll make sure to keep it clean if I draw them.
