Now that I have your attention,  sportypup - a friend of mine - has been dealing with Valvular Heart Disease and his situation has recently taken a small downward turn.

I'm not certain of the details about insurance and what they're putting forth, but the hospital is wanting $40,000 from him - $16,000 up front before the surgery. Right now the community has raised roughly $8,000 - half of what is needed.

Several days ago he visited his doctor and ended up getting orders to stay in the hospital until his surgery, which is still TBD because the money isn't there yet.

Late again. I shouldn’t be so good at that.

My family celebrated Christmas a week early this year, and my seasonal job has been keeping me very busy: in short, I’ve been in a bit of a holidaze.

This episode… I can’t even begin to describe. Just listen. I had to wipe my eyes to continue working when I heard the first song: Walsh & McAuley really brought Nadia Ali’s tune to life. Man, I've fallen off the ball. The good news: Pawcast 28 is almost finished. Bad news, it won't be done tonight like I thought. I'm falling asleep at my desk. I got a holiday job, so that plus my side work as a web designer has kept me very busy and away from music. Podcasting doesn't pay the bills, though.

I also realized that had I not pushed last week's episode off a week that Pawcast 30 and a very special guest mix from a friend would have aired on New Years Eve. Bummer. :(

First off, let me apologize for this episode being a week late. I just finished finals week at KSU - I had absolutely no time to devote to this podcast. On the bright side, I’ve had a lot of fun relaxing & unwinding this weekend AND it snowed in Atlanta today! That’s pretty shocking considering it’s still technically Fall and we usually don’t see snow until early Spring. I’m not complaining though, I love the snow.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the (again) late episode, I've been working on getting over being sick & fighting my way through finals here at school. There wasn't enough interest to start the shoutouts (also I really don't want to record myself while I'm sick like I did last week) and stuff but I'm sure that'll start rolling soon. :)

Shoutbox... almost didn't make it into the episode. I found it last minute. It's presence alone turned this mix from a fairly low-key episode into a something that had me (and hopefully you) dancing in your seat. I've been waiting for We Need Them for a while.. it's a fantastic production by one of my favorite producers. I found Half Light on a podcast and it blew me away - Max Graham's remixes have had that effect on me recently. The following track by Armin was featured on the Mirage bonus CD and it's fantastic - probably my favorite on the disc. Fractured 2010 I found while listening to an old episode of ASOT... my roommate and his friends woke me up late one night and this was playing out, I stumbled out of bed and wrote down the title before passing back out. :)

Woah, man. This weekend rocked. It was my first time on a train, subway, taxi, and a plane. It was also my first time further north than Kentucky! Either way I had a blast, the set went great. The worst part about it was that it didn't get recorded. I did however have my set list saved from Traktor and enough great memories from the night to try to recreate it here for the Pawcast! Sorry it took so long to get this made and posted - I got sick at the tail end of the weekend and I've still been dealing with that.

But yeah... the set. I had friends in the audience and some even came up on stage. You all blew me away when you started cheering and clapping. After the set was over I couldn't speak - I was pretty much overrun with the best of emotions. I was bouncing around for the rest of the night after that. :)

It was great meeting Tekfox, Madius, and all the other fantastic folks I ran into. Thank you, thank you, thank you for that awesome night. I hope to see all of you again in the near future.

Having trouble falling asleep. :) That might be a good thing since lately I've been getting tired/falling asleep earlier and my set is at 2am my time.
