my stance on the twitter fire
Posted 5 years agoso....I think it's time I said my piece when it comes to the shit-storm that's happening on twitter.
for those that don't know, the issue right now is that a lot of people are claiming that feral art equals zoophilia...and here is what i have to say on that
Feral art is not inherently zoophilia. Theres a huge HUGE difference between an actual lion and Simba. Most feral characters are just as humanized, sentient and emotive as their anthro counterparts. People have grown up and liked "feral" animals since forever. Most of us that are 90's kids literally grew up with The Lion King, Balto and what-have you. I can guarantee that the larger majority of us would never EVER think of an actual animal in that way at all. Its the human aspect of the cartoon characters that we like...that's the point. Humans have a hard time empathizing with things that aren't them...so we put human traits on things to be able to relate....yes you can empathize with your dog, but in your instinctual brain, your not really on the same level of understanding.
Most of us grew up with crushes on Simba, Nala....most of the cast....Balto...even Spirit the stallion has his fair share of people crushing on him and hes way more animalistic then the other examples, but we can empathize and relate to his human internal monologue.
Its terrifying, and downright not ok for others to just throw a super harmful label at people just cause their sona's are on 4 and not 2. What difference does it make? How is it fair that my sona, who is a fox that i prefer to be feral stanced, is deemed zoophilac, and yet others can have animal sonas that are fully anatomically correct and they get a pass cause they are on two? if they are the same level of obvious sentience, can speak and consent...what the issue?
My non-furry friend, when asked, has the same logic i had. Liking feral art does NOT mean we wanna actually go out and rape animals. That's fucking gross, deplorable and needs to be stopped. No one in their right mind would ever EVER want to harm animals like that. I sure as fuck don't, but that doesn't mean
I don't enjoy a style popularized by FUCKING DISNEY! that's all there is too it...its a style preference. Fuck man, her mom who is SUPER judgmental has a crush on Aslan from The lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.....does this mean shes nothing more then a filthy animal fucker that wants to sleep with actual lions? or is it the HUMAN VOICE, MANNERISMS AND PERSONALITY HE WAS GIVEN that she likes? hmmmm I wonder
I despise the fact that actual zoophiles are trying to hide behind the "feral" label, and those that are legit hurting animals need to be stopped, and burned alive...but feral art is not endorsing that, its not at all. Most dragon sonas I see are feral....so why to they get a pass? Is it cause they are mythical and the rules don't apply? Whats good for the goose SHOULD be good for the gander....
People are loosing their clients, their friends, their support systems over this....we need to stop squabbling over shit that legit doesn't matter and focus on the actual issue of those that actually hurt animals. Those mosnters need to be stopped, not the people that just prefer their art a certain way. Reality is not fantasy and they dont always have to play off eachother.
thats all i had to say on this....if its obvious the character is humanized enough to clearly express, emote, speak and consent then there should be no issues.....and if there is anyone that has a sona thats anthro but anatomically correct for that animal should consider themselves hypocrites....its still an animal, isnt it?
now, i expect backlash from this...but i encourage healthy discussion in the comments. Explain to me why feral is bad....with logic and reasoning....lets talk it out. Maybe theres something im missing....maybe not. Either way....i prefer feral art and i always will.

I have decided to start offering custom character designs. i LOVE designing characters as its always alot of fun for me to do, but i dont want to see designs just sit there with no one to love them, and i wont use. SO here are the rules!
for 20 dollars USD you get
-custom designed feral OR anthro character! (though would prefer feral as im better at it)
i would need from you:
-species (pokemon, digimon, SU gemsona, mythical...anything....just as long as its not mechanical, or a closed species owned by someone else but most things im fine with)
-colour palette(or i can pick if you want)
-2-4 words to describe the character you are after ( can be "bold" " curvy" "short" "spots" ect)
-gender (male of female only at this time)
The sheet will be comprised of a basic side or 3/4 view full body of said character with 2 add-ons, ie pawpads, maw, genitalia or specific markings you want shown off. Colour swatches and eye detail come free. If interested then shot me a note or DM me on discord that is located on my profile page on the right under the ID (i think i have it up there XD)

year 2019~ year of growth and maturing

ive kept that apology journal up long enough....its time to heal from the incident and move on...
That being said i do look forward to this new year. I plan on applying to university and trying to better my education, i have plans on getting a bigger place with my fiance and having our friends live with us....im hoping to start going back to the chiropractor and maybe even starting to see a councilor again.
Im starting on the path of bettering myself, and while it might be a long journey, and things might not fit the plan...ive still got a job, a roof over my heat and people that love me. Even if the school doesnt work out....im not leaving my job so ill have income. Im hoping to get better with my art as well...once im healthier. Maybe not take full commission, only sketches for now to work out this heavy art block....but im sketching again and that in and of itself is something.
Im trying to grow as best as i can, and this year...turning 26 this 24th of january...marks me as being an adult officially and thus its time i get my shit together. Get my liscence and maybe a car, or drive my e-bike more and get mobile on my own....
its going to be a healthier, happier and stronger year for me. Thank you for all who have given me support and stood by my side for as long as you have. You have no idea how much it means to me that ive had such good peeps help pull me out of the darkness. I love you all so much and will try my best to make you all proud.

time to recover
Posted 7 years agoso...as much as i hate bringing up sad stuff, i feel like i need to at least vent about some shit that happened to finally stop hurting about it.....
A few months ago, at this point almost a year, i was blocked by a friend on all social media accounts we had been friends on. This came as a complete shock to me as we had been so good before that...or at least i thought so. It was brought to my attention by this persons family member that i apparently had been "bad mouthing" and "talking negatively" about my friend and their art...i was heart broken. this person and me have been friends for years at this point. I was trying my best to always be supportive and helpful with them...i LOVE their style and i love their art and i was always so proud of them when they progressed
I wasn't given a chance to explain myself to my friend, or even have them explain what specifically i had done to upset them....having someone say that you have hurt them but not explaining how is both devastating and frustrating...i have been so upset for weeks that we lost contact over something that now i cannot fix and don't really know what i have done.....every day i wish i could just talk to them....while they have blocked me i have not blocked them so i see when they post new art and it hurts so much that i cant comment and tell them how proud of them i am or how much i love what they have done.....all i have to say is this.....

Im sorry for whatever it is i have done wrong to upset you. I have had the largest hole in my heart without you there. I have never EVER meant to hurt you and if i have then i am deeply sorry. You mean the world to me, and i only want to see you succeed and become the strong, beautiful person i know you are. I will always consider you a friend no matter what, and until i see or hear you outright say you want nothing to do with me, i will still be there supporting you, only now it must be silently.
I want nothing more then to at least talk to you about what happened and figure out what went wrong...i want to fix this...and if it cant be fixed and we go our separate ways at least we know we tried...we talked and we tried...I know you probably wont see this...so i guess I'm just talking to the abyss, but in the off chance you do come across it...please know that i have only ever wanted your well being. You were my closest online friend....a best friend when i felt like i had no one...i always enjoyed our talks about anime, art, your characters...it made me feel good..it made me feel like i was indeed wanted somewhere.
I know you must be hurting, or had hurt because of something i did, and that weighs on me every day...to know I hurt you, or upset you in some way makes me hate myself. i hate knowing i was the cause of this no longer being a thing. i have been angry, sad, depressed....all because i cant at least tell you I'm sorry.....
i honestly hope your doing well...i hope your happy and healthy and are doing wondrous things. I'm still very proud of the art you produce, and while i should probably delete you....i just cant bring myself to...i still have hope we can mend this. I want you to know this....everything i have said today is the truth. I do wish you all the best in your life, i hope and wish your family is happy and healthy and supportive. I want you to be able to look back on our friendship and at least smile from the good memories....don't let whatever i have done stop you from trusting others....live, laugh, love
I will be here if you ever want to reconnect, or at least talk about what happened....i will be here whenever you need me...if at all....i will always be there for you as someone that wants to uplift you...so even when you feel alone, while it might be bittersweet...i will still be someone who you can lean on. I want to thank you for the wonderful time we have had as friends....you helped me gain so much confidence in my art and you made me not feel so self conscious about pairing my characters with canon characters. i have change my outlook on life and i see the world a little brighter because of you. That's all i can say on this matter. This has been a bumpy road for me, and i know that still having them on my list of "people i watch" will make the full recovery hard....but i just have to deal with that i guess. I'm still broken and hurting, and have basically had to stop myself from crying while typing this...but i needed it out there...even if they never see it...i had to at least write it...for me...its healthy to vent out things that upset you. Thank you for listening, and for those that have read the full thing...i appreciate the time you have taken to atleast understand where i'm coming from.

my birthday next week
Posted 8 years agoso, my birthday is next wednesday on the 24th. Ill be turning 25.....a quarter of a century. Its been a crazy year for me....loss of a channel i was a part of on youtube, finding out my father was getting married to a woman only a few years olfer then me who has 2 kids, being unemployed for months...
Dealing with alot of personal stuff.....Its been tough, but worth it. I hope this next year brings so many new things for me....new job opportunities, new experiences
Funny thing is i dont feel like ive aged at all mentally since like 16 XD But this year will be different..im getting into shape....im finding a better job.....i want to get back into more art and doing commissions(maybe) and art trades....

Posted 8 years agoive recently been going through some life changes...or i guess changes in myself mentally is a better way of putting it XD Some of these changes have me thinking about another sona/upgrade to my main sona. Now for those who are fans of the contrast fox that is my current sona, that design wont be going anywhere....if anything it would still be a big part of me(ive had that design for like close to 10 years at this point i think) so no worries about a complete over haul ^-^
However i have been thinking about a species change for a loooong time...part of me thinks i might have outgrown the fox species, since alot has changed since i first made it my species of choice. It was my favorite animal for so long, but for somewhat bad reasons. Foxes are smart, they survive on their own and they are crafty enough to evade(or lie in my case) to save themselves.....all this I identified with when i was really small...since i didnt have a good life growing up...and i needed to be crafty and smart to not get abused.
Ive grown alot since that rough part of my life, and i made choices that allowed me to heal from those wounds of an abusive parent....ive become a better person since then and a very much more healthy one at that. This is why im not sure if a fox is a good choice for me any longer...since it represents a part of my life i dont deal with anymore....i worry that keeping the fox will keep those negative connotations with it....change is good and change is growth.
Alot of my time i spent trying to decide if i wanted to be a dragon/reptile instead, as it worked for many reasons my wonderful fiance pointed out....but the other day i made a list of all the "natural" animals i would be besides fox....and now all i can think of is those....that list is
Kangaroo
Lion
Hyena
Bat
and then gryphon XD
All of these animals mean something to me on a personal level and now im fighting my brain to figure out what to do. I love my contrast fox, and as i said i will always keep that...but i want to branch out...i want to discover new parts of me and i dont think i can do that if i stay the fox....i dunno..theres alot more to it then that, but i dont want to bore you XD

Ive tried to hold contests befor, and no one was interested but hey, i figured ild try to see if anyone would want free art from me.

Tablet is dead
Posted 8 years agoWell....My tablet died. The cord won't work at all..
Any tips would be grand. I have it wrapped up alot, and it was touchey after I would unwrap it. I tried it last night and it has completely stopped being recognized on my computer.
I'm sorry for those that are waiting for trades....At the ment I am.stuck to digital....Again...Any help would be amazing....As well as links to other cheap tablets would be totally welcome

Posted 9 years agoSo...recently....i have been getting into The Lion Guard. Orogonally i didnt really like the idea of them retconning the canon of the second movie since The Lion King and The Lion King 2 are like my top favorite movies...but its grown on me. however, i feel like some backstory is needed
when i was little, my grandmother used to tell me stories of me when i was 3...she would take me to the zoo and i would hang off the front of the stroller roaring at people and telling them i was "simba the yion". I spent most of my childhood running around on all 4's for years pretending to be any animal i could...realistic or not...its safe to say it shaped my young life XD
That being said..The Lion King 1 and 2 hold a special place i my heart....so any sort of new and "updated" thing for that would naturally be met with hostility. The lion guard looks dumb...but its got good songs ( Sisi ne Sawa and My own way are my top 2) so its quickyl becoming rather charming to me. the art style has a sort-of....paper-doll feel...like those projects you did at scholl where you made puppets with the gold push-pin things for joints....wich is not a problem, its actually kinda perfect for kids..but it does mean i notice certain anitomical issues with their paws.
Now..there are lots of people that dont like how its messed up the canon, myself included, but while at work one morning i thought about it and...who said it had to mess anything up? Let me explain...
The Lion Guard is set within Lion King 2. There is a time jump between when Kiara and Kovu get split up as cubs to them being adults....so who says within that time the show cant happen. At that time Kion would have been born, but being part of the lion guard would effectively excuse him from the plot of the movie. This could also explain why the hyenas are still around within the show, since im sure once Kovu became an adult and waaay more dangerous, they would have left...This could also explain why Kiara went from a sort-of tomboy to a tattle-tail....shes taking her queen duties more serriously.
As for Kion, well within the second movie Vitanti, who has been confirmed to be in the lion guard show, and her older brother Nuka set fire to the hunting lands that Kiara runs off to..so set a trap...if Kion is part of the Lion Guard, it would be his job to settle the animals and get them to safety. Realisticly...this is just my way to explain how both can still be canon....so take it as you will...
I also thought maybe when hes older, something happens and the Guard disbands....wich would explain why its not present within the movies. Again..just my thought process at 3am at work XD Im totaly open to discussion about the show...but im not interested in any comment that is just "lion guard sucks" or "disney is going downhill". Those comments are not productive nor do they invite discusson...so kindly keep them to yourself if you have no valuable points to add

Anidra had drew the new revealed poison/fire type pokemon Salandit. I looked it up and watched the trailer for it, and holy SHIT I AM HYPE!!!
I love the idea of the female being all sneaky and releasing those pharamones to control any female. Personally i totally want Salandit to have a split evolution, one for male and one for female. Ild love the female to keep the lithe, slender sneaky rouge-like bandit look, but the male takes on more of a thicker look...if that makes sence?
It totally reminds me of Heliolisk, and i LOVE that pokemon. This new gen is so far hitting me in all the right places with just the few pokemon that have been revealed. If salandit doesnt have any evos, and its just how it is for ever, i will still be happy :D

im in the market for people who make fursuit parts (like hand paws and feet paws) separately. Im hoping that if i gather the small parts separately i can get a good feel of how each part feels. Does anybody know of cheap but good fursuit parts makers in the fandom?
any makers you like that fit the criteria are totally welcome ^_^

Zootopia theory(spoilers?)
Posted 9 years agoso i watched zootopia the other day and i LOVED IT!!! im not sure if this counts as a spoiler or not.....so if it is, my apologies. However this brought up some interesting discussions with me and my mate about the species of Zootopia and why there are some but not all.
Im not sure why there are not any reptiles or bats...but this is not the point of this journal. As i fight off this terrible cold i have we had a talk about the lack of domestic canines and domestic cats in the movie. There are wolves and larger cats, but nothing small. My origonal theory was because disney did not want little children to fear their dogs and cats at home turning feral and attacking...
My mate mentioned the lack of humans....and then it hit me.....all domestic dogs and cats are the product of human manipulation. We bred the wolves with other wild dogs for millennia to produce the specific breeds we have today.....no humans means no selective breeding......so no huskies...no GSD.....nothing....
This blew my mind. I never once realized how in depth human interaction with animals could go until this movie.....I would have liked to see some bats and reptiles...but perhaps that will be in the second movie.....where i strongly believe the topic will be inter-species relations rather then just racism and stereotypes.
What do you think of this lack of domestic creatures based on the lack of humans theory, or rather my mates theory? Do you agree, do you dissagree and why. Any comments will be read, but atleast be civil about it.
