enlarged image problem #1
Posted 8 years agoYou know when you click on an image on FA to see a larger version, right? well, sometimes it gets large enough to warrant a side scrolling bar. Unfortunately, in an attempt to chick and hold on said bar, you end up clicking and holding the image inside. talk about embarrassing.
computer down!
Posted 9 years agoit actually happened in march, but the fact is that my laptop is now a paperweight, a goner, a little piece of "Nope! Not gonna boot Windows 7!" I'm currently using my Nintendo 3DS to post this journal. Just wanted you guys and gals to know I might be stuck with just posting comments and journals until I can get a new computer.

Problems with Skype or their Users. (warning :RANT)
Posted 12 years agook...I wonder if it is a glitch in Skype or people are intentionally ignoring me. Because if it is the latter, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY'RE DOING THAT. I Mean, for gods sake...If you don't feel like talking, Say something like "Sorry, I don't feel like talking right now"...Not just fake an "Offline" status or Remove me from your contacts (where it leaves a ? mark next to your name in their contact list). And if someone asks why you don't feel like talking, tell them why...don't give them the silent treatment. and if you're offended by something they did at some point in time earlier in the day/week/month/year/ etc, don't expect them to remember...explain it to them as well.
If it is a problem with Skype, the developers need to FIX IT! people can not afford to have these problems get in the way of chatting with their buddies. it seriously compromises relations and stuff.
All in all, Those who are ignoring me in Skype...please give me a reason why. If you don't want me as a contact, tell me before you remove me from your list. It's good manners.

Age UP! Age 28!
Posted 12 years agowell...yesterday was my birthday and I turned 28. while having a birthday is nice, it's also a reminder that I still haven't found an actual Girlfriend yet. (been single since graduating high school 10 years ago.)
Saw Oblivion movie.
Posted 12 years agoAs the Title states, I saw "Oblivion" and I thought it was good. although I have a few issues about it...said issues are:
Xenophobia
Technophobia
now, most people wouldn't think this as a major problem but...
WARNING SOME SPOILAGE AHEAD!
Alien invaders have destroyed the moon, left the earth in ruins, Main protagonist finds out employer is said alien machine, blah blah blah...I really don't want to spoil the whole movie, So I'll get to the point.
I can understand people having a fear of aliens due to not knowing what their personalities and culture are like, so I'll forgive a little about that part (but not totally). However, Fear of technology (in my mind) is a load a crock. Technology is not evil, only those whom use it for evil.

About Admin Abuse on any website
Posted 13 years agoI have been a member of a few forums here and there...and I have seen people get banned for good reasons.
However, when an admin/mod permabans someone for giving criticism of a comic a thread topic is about or when an admin uses excessive punishment (aka banned longer than what the violation is worth), it makes me apprehensive about said admin/mod.
Usually, the other admins and the head admin would likely revoke said admin's/mod's powers...but what is one to do when said admin/mod is well liked or is feared because they're one of the higher ups in the admin/mod chain?
Some people would prefer to leave the site...others try to make a stand, despite the fact that the admin/mod could get away with it. I, on the other hand, resort to going into lurk mode and observe the forums for a while to see if it was just stress that got to the admin/mod...or if said admin/mod is corrupted. if the former is proven to be true, I might come out of lurk mode. however, if suspicion of corruption grows (latter becomes true), I would try to find a way to record the evidence and hopefully turn it into the proper admins who have not been corrupted.

What's your ideal Zombie Apocalypse Survivor Group?
Posted 14 years agoWith Halloween coming, my mind went straight to one thing...Zombie Apocalypse. I started to think about what if the survivors started going around in groups and thought of this question- If you were part of a moderately-sized group of survivors in the Zombie Apocalypse, what type of people would you hope would be in the group?
I had asked my mom this question earlier today...she said at least one medical doctor for healing/taking care of people, and someone from the military for organization/leadership/defense preparation (which were good ideas to me, including medical doctors...because we'd need research into the bug that turns people into zombies so we can develop a vaccine). I had thought of Architectural/mechanical engineers to build fortifications and make thing from scrap (like a water purification system or some ATVs to use for scavenging), agricultural-inclined personnel (to help grow crops, because a group/colony of survivors will need to eat), some chemical experts/manufacturers (to create lubricants for the machines, sanitizers for health preservation and most likely...combustibles for heat/frying zombie butt) and weaponsmiths (to make weapons for the defense of the survivors).
For the fort, I believe the group would need to start a colony out at a scrap yard (or some other suitable place, after it has been deemed cleared of zombies) and use the scrap metal there to build the first layer fortifications. Then we smelt the rest of the metal for raw materials for additional fortifications...as well as weapons, shelter, custom hardware (vehicles, utilities, modes of power generation, etc). Assuming that the scrap yard/junkyard has tow trucks, you could modify them to be armed while retrieving other vehicles outside the fort to bring back to be scrapped (zombies can't drive, so nobody's gonna be missing them) for materials.
Then there's food...with the amount of zombies no doubt attempting to consume the flesh of the living outside the fort, you would need a space inside the fort needed for planting and growing crops to sustain the survivors. You could try to go out and scavenge for non-perishable foods, but you'd better be well armed to fight off any zombies you encounter...an armored vehicle with a submachine gun turret on top would help. Livestock is not an option atm, as you wouldn't be sure if any animals could be carriers of the zombie plague.
As for using customized vehicles for scavenging or searching for more survivors, use of alternate fuel sources is recommended...as gasoline is gonna be scarce at one point or another. Maybe use solar power/wind power/steam power/electricity would work...nuclear power may pose a risk to drivers/personnel. Use of vehicles, as I said, may be used to scavenge for food and materials/survivors/transport between colonies (if the survivors of your colony get news of another colony the next town/city over). The selection of vehicles could range from ATV/motorcycles to mobile fortresses (aka really big vehicles that double as mini forts)...all of which will at least need some modification to best protect their riders.
Clothing and shelter are essential for survivors, as seasonal changes can really wreak havoc on their bodies. No one wants to freeze their butts off in the winter. So it is necessary to sometimes scavenge outside the fort for cloth and materials to keep themselves from being exposed to the elements...and shelter to keep safe from Mother Nature’s fury. For floods, I would do like some people and build a secondary wall to protect the fort from flood waters. For winter, I would recommend a fireplace or another source of heat to keep the shelter warm during the colder months. For Tornadoes (if you live in a place where tornadoes can occur), making an underground shelter would likely help the chance of survival of one.
As for chemicals you should need, I'd recommend you'd have something to keep the stuff around you from rusting/getting sticky...as well as sanitizers for disease prevention and combustibles for heat/explosives.
Weapons are also going to be needed in defense of the fort or any travel outside the fort. I would think that survivors would at least be equipped with some armor/defensive fabric to reduce the possibility of being bitten by zombies or prevent attacked by a rogue group of survivors. And the weapons...I would believe that each individual in the group would need to be equipped with a primary projectile weapon of a rifle/machinegun type, a secondary projectile weapon of the handgun type, a melee weapon that's either very blunt or very sharp (for beating the crap out of zombies or slicing/stabbing them up before they can land a finger on you), and likely a few tossable/throwable weapons (like grenades) for crowd control.
Also...part of the fort would be needed to be set aside for medical practice/research. The survivors could get sick from other diseases besides the one that caused the apocalypse and they'll need healing. One part would be where the healing would be done and the other part of the medical area would be used for developing medicines/vaccines...hopefully one day, the bug that brought about the zombies can be snuffed out by a vaccine that would be developed by researching the virus.
All of this is what I had gone through my head when I thought about what should be part of a group survival of the zombie apocalypse if it comes. What do you think about it and what would you think your group would do?
(sorry about this...I wanted your opinions on what would you hope your group would do IF you were part of a group of survivors of a zombie apocalypse and what kind of people would you hope would be in it, but my opinion might have been a bit long)

Dammit, Windows Live Messenger!

Chaosenger withdrawn.
Posted 15 years agoDue to my thoughts of revising the Chaosenger story ( and becuase I've been playing too much Mabinogi)..The chaosenger episode one chapters have been taken down.
This is possibly only temporarily for revision of the story (when I have the time) and therefore will be back up when fully revised. Of course there have been times where I thought of finding a partner to convert the story into a webcomic...so I may never know.

I am now a Skype User
Posted 16 years agoAbout a week ago, I downloaded Skype due to some friends using it more than Live messenger. Of course now I'm starting to get hooked on it since it allows for live audio chat...which means I would no longer need to type so slowly and just use audio if I felt it would work better.
Now...I'm curious. How many people on FA use this Program? If it's a whole lot of them, It must be pretty popular. Anyway...If you are a Skype user, tell me what you think about it.

It has Arisen!
Posted 17 years ago Yay! FA is back!
Now now, I notice that it took a while for the techs to get things back up. Personally...I'd prefer it that way. Better safe than sorry.
For those on my buddy list, I won't be surfing FA for a few days untill the system stabilizes. so many uploads by a lot of users is making my surfing slow, so It's best that I stay off until things run more smoothly.
Until then, May the wings of fate smile upon thee.

Great Father's Day.
Posted 17 years agoMy mom and I took my dad out for father's day andwent to see "The Incredible Hulk"...I liked it! I recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to go and see it!
After the movie, we went to Perkins and had supper...well, I had the Deli-ham and lot-of-cheese omelet, with pancakes and breakfast potatoes.
it was a great father's day for me. Anyone else have a great Father's Day?
