Care to put a disabled Akita to work? :(
Posted 11 years agoI herniated a disc in my spine during the summer and am fighting with a workers compensation insurance company for wage benefits. Meanwhile my mobility has gotten me turned down for numerous jobs because I can't pass health physicals. It breaks my heart that my CDL A license amounts to a hill of beans currently. I'm shored up in my home most days, and earn money doing freelance art. So if there are any curious folks that follow my gallery please feel free to question me about commission work. My days are mostly empty and for now my workload is low. If you can put this down on her luck Akita to work she'd be grateful. Merry Christmas and happy holidays folks. :)
Reviving My Road Rovers comic idea.
Posted 15 years agoI've seemed to have divorced my muse and so have decided to finally get around to finishing old ideas that I was once very enthusiatic about. The first idea is Alternate R. Those who have been around in the fandom long enough probably remember I posted a couple pages on Kylen's old forum and then stopped. Today I have a couple of ideas to throw around and am trying to meld them together into a cohesive and easy to follow script. It's not easy, but I will outline the basic premise of the comic's theme.
In Alternate R, canosapiens have become a norm in society, they don't have super powers and they live their lives almost like humans do. Only they're not humans and were regarded as second class citizens subject to human rule. They fight wars in the stead of human soldiers and are frequently used in experiments for the benefit of humanity. In this Universe, a large sect of Cano society banded together, formed a resistence and initiated a coup d'etat, ousting the humans from power and began using them in much the same way the canos were used. Soon enough, human numbers start dwindling and they are quickly becoming an endangered species. Seeing the chaos unfolding before him, the great-granddaughter of Dr. Shepard seeks to find the decendents of the original Road Rovers, a motley band of super powered canos unaware of their powers. If they are if still out there in the world, they hold the key to saving humanity. The only problem is, that in a world full of hostile canosapiens, how do you find them?
It's confusing, and I'd really like to be able to start in a world with a certain caste system with upper class canos that are 'owned' by humans, working dogs
that are employed in police or military service and 'strays' who have no purpose and are regarded with disdain.
If anyone has any ideas, or wants to help me white up a more cohesive script, please do!

Commissions are OPEN.
Posted 15 years agoI'm am well on my way to completing back order commissions and need to generate more funds. Unfortunately my husband is about to come to the end of his employment at the Census Bureau and whatever I can put into our savings will be welcome, as I will be unemployed by this Christmas.
Con badges, full color, will start at $10. I will even throw in plastic sleeves and clips. Sketches are $20, Inks are $30, traditional colors are $45, and full digital (dependent on complexity+background) will go $50 and up. Prices negotiable, please note me or contact on aim.
Note - I am finally at a point where my workload in the Navy has slowed where I am happy to take on extra commissions. Hope to hear from you guys!
Btw... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!! Give your dad a hug and a smooch, or if you're far away from him like me... Give him a call and give him a phone hug! 83

An Apology to those who Care.
Posted 15 years agoMy first apology goes to my commissioners. There is so much going on right now with getting out of the Navy and a needlessly brutal work schedule that I have been neglecting posting both new and commissioned art work for LITERALLY months. I finished my commissions some time ago, but stupidly saved them onto my portable hard drive because my computer was old and I was suspicious it might crash soon (Which it did.), and of course when I attempted to boot them up I got the clicking sound of doom. Meaning the arms had jammed or broken. Long story short, I have a new hard drive and Mac replaced my laptop, but had to start from scratch with a lot of my work. Situational conditions aside, I'm ashamed that I haven't finished yet and I vow that this weekend, I WILL have at least the line art and base colors on my gallery. Again, I apologize. But I was just so dismayed when I lost everything that it was hard to get the gumption to start over, or the time. I <3 you all for being so patient with me.
All things aside though, how was everyone's Memorial Day weekend? Mine was a bit stressful, but mostly peaceful. Had dog duty though. =__=; Those in the Military know what I'm talking about.

Just a little shy...
Posted 16 years agoI'm sitting in my bed right now, waiting for sleep to come but at the moment it's sitting in the corner of my room giving me the finger. I keep thinking to myself, geez, I wish I had a life outside this house, I wish I had someone who would be pleasantly surprised to see me if I came over to visit. (At least someone who isn't thousands of miles away...) I'm in the Navy, and yet for some reason haven't been able to make meaningful connections with people... In fact I'm surrounded by people in similar circumstance and yet feel painfully isolated. I haven't found anyone with whom friendship seems natural, and emboldening. And thus has been the sad circumstance of my life for the past two years... What's wrong with me? I don't think I push people away, but I think I might be afraid of people, I don't talk much, and I haven't had a friend with similar interests since I was a kid. I'm tired of wasting away in my house, and yet most the things people usually do to meet people at my age aren't proper for a married woman, or a mother. What do I do...? I feel like I'm about to go insane with loneliness.
It's my Anniversary today. Yay me! XD
Posted 16 years agoToday, I'm celebrating two years of marriage. Wow... XD Two years already? Yeesh. Time flies. Let's hope today is a day full of good memories and good feelings. I hope you all will give me your best wishes! Positive energy is what's needed today. Lol.
