Hi all, just wanted to formally announce that I will be attending MFF this weekend along with my wonderful friends Avyris (Soldieryena) and Johis (Lhuin)! We will all be wearing at least one badge with our names on it so if you see us please come and say hi, I love meeting people! Hi all, I'm going to be taking on four openings for bust/badge commissions of any feral/anthro character of your choosing! These will be charged at a flat rate of $30 each (discounted down from my regular rates!) and will be completed today while I livestream. Hi all,

This weekend (possibly starting tomorrow but most certainly by Friday) I am going to be doing a flash sale on commissions for sketches and busts/badges. These will be at a flat fee that will be quite a bit lower than what I typically offer. Will probably only be for the next few days and god willing my internet is cooperative, I'll try to stream the majority of them so I can take orders in real time. All earnings will go directly into helping pay travel expenses for my wonderful friend Avy, who we are trying to get down to visit me this December and join me and Lhuin for Midwest Fur Fest.

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone is planning to attend Midwest FurFest this year? Sometime soon (either late April or more likely May) I will be opening up a handful of commission slots so I guess if that's something you're interested in you can be on watch for that! Also so my friends know I have a bit of a problem, and that problem is that whenever I'm aimlessly doodling I tend to design foxes. It ended up in this monstrosity last year and lo and behold, I have enough designs to make another full set (and then some). I'd probably sell them for $10 per this time around. Would there be any interest in this? Or did I kind of saturate the market last time. I'd like for them to go to people who want them but I don't want to flood people with fox designs if they already have some from me left over. So yeah if you're interested, let me know. There's about 30 ready to go and another sheet already in progress. I have a problem ><

(Copypasted from DA) Quick poll of sorts for people who have/do commission art from other artists... I'm trying to do some marketing research before I re-open, lol

1. Do you prefer to plot out all the details of your commission yourself, or let the artist have more free reign? (i.e., do you say "i want my character doing this with this expression and this pose in this bg," or are you more of a "here's my character, have fun" type of orderer?)

2. Does the artist live-streaming the commission increase it's desirability to you? If an artist had slots available for a commission that would be done in a livestream, versus ones done in the traditional "off-camera" way, are the streamed commissions more intriguing to you? Would you purchase a commission during a stream that you otherwise wouldn't have considered?

3. Similar to question 1, do you like to pick out the exact style your art is done in, or are you ok with more randomized results? For example, if an artist could do drawings as speedpaints, realism, clean, stylized - a variety of styles - would you like to choose a specific style for your commission, or would you rather have the artist pick whichever they're 'feeling' for your character?

4. For very stylized characters, how much are you willing to compromise? For example if you had a character that was always drawn in a consistent exaggerated way (overly skinny, furry, or disproportionate to the species, as an example) and you commissioned a more realistic artist, do you expect all those stylizations to be kept, even if they don't translate well? Or are you willing to let more wild aspects of the character's design be neutralized? Is keeping the consistent style of your character a must-have for you, or do you like seeing how artists choose to represent your character?


Just some curiosity from me! You can answer one or two questions or all four if you'd like, anything helps. Please only answer if you have commissioning experience (you have commissioned another artist to draw for you before) or you're seriously considering commissioning someone. I'm really interested to hear responses!

i will be inactive on this website until at least january of 2014. im entering my last semester of college and it is beyond imperative that i finish my senior thesis and film so i can graduate. it's going to require pretty much all of my time and energy so until im done with it i just dont have the time to do other art or deal with online stressors.

my family is also in the midst of moving across several states, myself included, which is another massive pile of Shit To Deal With. that should ideally be finished around the same time my semester ends but everythings still kind of up in the air.

HEY SO another question journal yay. For those of you who visit/watch artists do streams a lot, is there a particular host you prefer (Livestream, Ustream, Join.me, etc)? I've been mostly using Livestream for mine because I like the control/chat system, but I've also tried Join.me and the picture quality is a lot better, plus no ads to watch. But it also lags my computer a bit and I can't record anything I draw... but it's also a lot easier than Livestream to set up/join so... any opinions?

So I have quite a few characters who don't speak English as a first language, and I love writing short stories about my characters. But I myself speak only English and have very little experience with learning other languages.

So, my question is, for those of you who speak multiple languages and/or learned English as a second or third language, what was the hardest part? Is there anything about English that makes it really difficult to learn, or anything that took you a while to get the hang of, or that you still have problems with? Or even for people with English as a first language who speak a few others, is there anything you've noticed about English that is very different compared to other languages? I've always heard people say it's one of the hardest to learn if you don't grow up speaking it, so I'm very curious.

I have tried learning so many languages but I think I have some mental block in my brain, I can never get the hang of them. Different strengths, I guess. Anyway, thank you all in advance!

OK SO THE EXCITING PART to thank y'all I decided to do something I've done on DA before and really enjoyed, an art raffle. Basically just leave a comment here with a link to a character (can be yours, your friend, your pet, a random thing, anything works) and I'm going to try and pick a handful, maybe up to a dozen or so to draw during a livestream session this weekend (either Saturday or Sunday depending on when I finish up my commissions). There's no rules on character type, just please make sure the link is either to a ref sheet or a clear, colored picture so I can see what Im supposed to be drawing. What percentage of you buy character designs? Like, you see a design that you really like, and are willing to pay a few bucks for it, or do an auction?

If you are someone who buys designs/ would definitely consider buying a design, is there a particular type/species/style of character design that you really like? Like a particular color scheme or pattern or something that really strikes your fancy?

1. Do you and your "fursona" look alike?
Not at all x3 We have a similar body type I suppose - little bit tall, fairly thin, zero muscle mass - but the similarities pretty much stop there. I'm pasty, hazel eyes, curly hair; Zoe is sharper and bright colors, teal eyes, scruffy fur. We both do have round faces and shedding hair. And some similar scars. And she does have an overbite, like I did as a child. So i guess she does share physical similarities, just not colors. And she is also a cat. I am not. </spoiler>

2. Do you and your "fursona" share attires?
Lil' bit. Her collar is the same fabric/color as a hoodie I used to wear religiously. The pendant is just something I made up though. And I don't believe I've ever drawn her in clothes, as she is not an anthro. But yes, she'd wear my clothes. I am complete balls at designing clothes so I just use my own, which is why all my characters tend to share a style. Forever naked.

3. Do you share the same sexuality as your fursona?
Suppose so, never really thought about it but I don't see why she would be different than me. I try and keep her personality the same since her looks are so off-kilter.

4. If you changed your fursona to be more like you, how do you think he/she would look?
Aside from the obvious species difference, colors mostly. Her eyes would be the same hazel as mine, make her hair thicker and curlier (that'd look awfully weird on a bobcat), make her fur brown and white for my hair and skin. Probably round off her shape a little more, and throw in some of my smaller scars that I never bother to draw. Cause if she were directly drawn as a human she'd be some skinny weirdo with short, spiky orange hair and teal eyes. Which sounds cute but it is not "me" in the least x3

5. Did you work hard to develop your fursona? What is the (brief) history of your fursona?
Not really x3 Her first designs were just random herp-derp ones, then my friend Sei made the brown bobcat I used for a few years, then I tried to revamp her, gave up quickly, and just commissioned her design, which worked amazingly well. So no, I knew a lost cause when I saw one. As far as history, her species have gone (in order) sparkle-tiger, calico cat, calico bobtail cat, bobcat, and another bobcat. Always been a cat. Aside from the calico bobtail, this recent fursona is the one I've only ever taken seriously though. She's by far my favorite, my orange boobcat. I feel like I "connect" with her the most... and I'm definitely protective of her haha.

6. Do you and your fursona share relationship status?
Yup, forever alone. I think it's cute when people draw their fursonas in relationships, honestly. I definitely like drawing my friend ones. Though seeing my fursona drawn sexually would be awfully weird.

7. Do you find yourself jealous or upset if you get paired with someone you don’t like or your partner does?
lol. Implying people actually pair me up. Zoe is about as sexually attractive as a baked potato, so no I can't say I've ever had that problem x3

8. How would you like your character NOT to be used?
Sex, obviously. I'm uncomfortable enough with the thought of people getting turned on by random animals, let alone a character who's supposed to represent myself. Or in hate-art. But I can't say I'm too uncomfortable with much besides that, I mean I find some uses a little derpy but I get awfully pleased with Zoe fanart. It's hard for me to be unhappy with any of it.

9. What’s your fursona’s specialty?
She can sleep and eat like nobody's business, you don't even know. Her elemental power is cupcakes.

10. On a scale of 1-10, how much are you and your fursona alike?
Probably a 6.5 or a 7. Taking off points for colors and the fact that she is a kitty. Otherwise though, she's got my personality spot-on... no pun intended x3
