Somewhere they can talk smack, provide character reactions to that round, do whatever. Just something to add an extra layer of diversion to this.

This is not mandatory in any way. Only do it if you want to. Only respond if you want to. Players may post ICly on the journal announcing their elimination, if/when they cream out of the contest. After that, it's assumed they'd have left the playarea/stage/arena/whatever you wanna call it, and would no longer be there ICly.

So. I was thinking, as happens occasionally, and I had an idea... which happens a little less infrequently.

The idea is a journal-based "mini-game" circle jerk competition. You guys sign up. I write journals to keep people updated on the action. And at the end we've got a winner! And a bunch of cream-covered losers. What's not to love?!

The system is still sorta rough... but I mean, I'm not going to put hours of thought into this. It's just something to do that, eventually, may get compiled into a submission for easier browsing.

THE SYSTEM

System is very simple. Each round 1d6 worth of "damage" (arousal) is added to each player, to simulate that they're jerkin' themselves off as the contest continues.

Each round, each contestant may choose an action: Attack or Defend

If they choose attack, they'll pick a target and apply 1d8 "damage" to that target. If two players choose each other, their attacks are cancelled out for that round. However, if an attacking player is attacked by a different fur (that they hadn't targeted that round), then they take 1d12, having let their defenses down in order to attack their intended victim. If two players attack the same target, every attack after the first will act as a modifier to that initial d8, and not double the damage. (2 attackers = d10, 3 attackers = d12, etc).

If they choose defend, they'll receive half "Damage" from any attacks against them that round (if roll was a 1, no damage).

When a player reaches their climax threshold (probably 30), either from their own paw, or an attacking paw, they cream themselves and are eliminated from the game. Buh-bye!

HOW IT'LL PLAY OUT

All actions will be noted to me, or otherwise provided to me privately. I will announce actions for that round in a journal. Players eliminated in that round will get a short scene of their character creaming themselves out of the game. Every round will likely get a quick flavour text opening and closing, adding a little imagery to the state the players are in, and who's doing what.

Arousal damage for that round will be added to running totals, so everyone will know what state each player is in.

A WORD OF WARNING TO THOSE INTERESTED

Everyone's gonna see who's attacking who in the journals, and who's defending. I'm not gonna keep these things anonymous. THIS IS A WARNING. There is no voting involved in this, no popularity aspect, but I already know the issue of people feeling targeted, or ganged up on, is going to come up if I get a decent number of people signing up for this little game. I will NOT tolerate drama. No passive aggressive sighing because you lost, or because a couple of other players wanted to see that cute bunnyboy squirm, and ganged up on him. If your character is purely dom, and having him sub out to someone else is going to infuriate you, then please, don't register. You'll be happier, the players will be happier, I'll be happier.

So, I'm laying here on my couch writing and a thought strikes.

I want to write a sentence describing the dull glow of a spaceship's 'night' lighting. That is, it acts on an artificial day/night cycle, where "night" is just a general dimming of the lights. Keep people on a circadian schedule, right? In this case the light is reddish, to be a little easier on the eyes than the usual white lighting. I want to use the word "redly" to describe the way the glow beamed around her. Obviously red is an adjective, and turning it into a verb would get you an F in school. The visuals described by the improper use is still totally obvious. When something beams "redly", you'll understand what it'd look like around you. In short, it's wrong, but serves the purpose, and I dunno... I kinda like how it feels. It's unexpected, but effective.

Which brings me to the discussion point.

Do you, either as a writer, or reader, think this is a cool attitude to take? Breaking grammatical convention for the sake of wordplay? It's not something only I do, many notable authors ignore grammatical convention for the sake of tone. So I'm just going with that flow, but I also know people who are sticklers for grammar above all else.

Just curious what people's thoughts are on this. Form vs. Artistic license with the usage of written English.

So I'm writing this with the humblest of attitudes, because I realize this isn't something to do lightly, and I apologize deeply for any upset it may cause to those that've been waiting.

After nearly a week of debating with myself about it, I've decided to cancel my current commission queue and focus instead on personal writing projects.

Simply put, I've been struggling with motivation issues over the last month or two, and I think I'm at a point where I need to be easing myself along with projects that I'm 100% invested in. It's better for me as the creator, and it's better for you guys as the readers. I don't want to half-ass paid projects, and I feel as though that anything I produce right now will be half-assed.

My sincerest apologies to those on my commission list, this decision was made with your interests in mind as well, at least insofar as I didn't want to leave you guys dangling, and I didn't want to phone in stories you're paying me to write.

I don't know when I'll open commissions again, and when I do, I'll probably shrink the queue down back to the original 3 slots I'd had to start with. I may focus more on YCH-style projects, where outlines will be provided and readers can pay to have their character involved in the project. They've worked well in the past and balance my ability to write to my mood, as well as allow people to have their characters featured in my smutty shenanigans.

Writing hasn't been fun for me for awhile now, and I want it to be fun, otherwise I may end up stopping entirely and none of us want that! So please forgive this selfishness, but I believe it's for the greater good.

Been having some health things over the last few weeks.

Nothing serious, and they're clearing up now thanks to Antibiotics, but it--along with a general malaise towards writing in general--have kept me pretty unproductive.

I'm building myself back up to being productive, and my work schedule lightens up soon, so I'm going to give my all towards getting some commissions done. I appreciate the patience of the commissioners who've approached me, and I just want to reiterate that this kind of delay is exactly why I don't take money up front! Me being slow is just me being slow, nobody has lost anything out of that!

Anyway, a heads up as well that I'm not sure what's going to happen at the end of the summer! I've been looking into working overseas in my field for some time now, and this fall is the time I've chosen to make my move.

This may either severely diminish my ability to focus on writing, or it may free up time once the initial move is finished.

Guess we'll find out!

So, someone fav'ed one of my old stories the other day and I had to actually stop and stare at the title for awhile before I could remember what that story had actually been about.

I realized then that I have a lot of stories, and have been doing this for far longer than I feel I have been. In acknowledgement of this, I'm going to be swapping out my featured submissions to highlight some of my older works; this is partly to encourage new readers to peek at my older work, but also as an excuse for me to re-read some of it!

HOW ARE THEY SPECIAL!?

These commissions will be outside of my current "regular" queue. They'll be written in between the main-queue's stories as time allows; think of it as a bit of mortar between the bricks of the more demanding stories! ;)

The commissions will be $10 even, and range from 3 - 4 pages long. Maybe a little longer, but unlikely any shorter. Payment can be up front, or held until completion of the story; I can't guarantee time-lines, this is something to do when I feel like doing something quick and fun.

WHAT'RE THEY ABOUT!?"

These commissions will be--like the story sales I want to start up again--along a pre-chosen topic. In this case, however, commissioners will be able to choose one of two "Scenarios", which both explore similar themes.

Scenario #1

The first scenario will encompass sentry/guard elimination via. stealth tactics. Namely, your character as a hapless guard getting taken out by a cunning intruder. THIS SCENARIO IS LETHAL. Your character will be killed, and either hidden, or used for some other nefarious purpose. This will be similar to my story Ninja Nights . In fact, it'll even use the same characters!

Zato & Ichi have been tasked with infiltrating a shadowy merc force in order to foil their plans of... er... something! A commissioner may choose which character snuffs them out. Keep in mind that Zato (a large male) would have a far more brute-force approach to it, whereas Ichi would likely kill you before you even knew she was there. All commissioned stories will be linked together in a single ongoing narrative!

Any species and gender is accepted.

Scenario #2

A Mistress storyline!

The boys have begun to grow paranoid! Certain that all of the other boys are out to get them, and ruin their chances at earning the Mistress' attentions, they've begun to secretly take matters into their own hands. No boy is safe as a stalk each other through the halls of the compound, laying ambushes, and being ambushed in order to--literally--rub one another out! THIS SCENARIO IS NON-LETHAL

Commissioners will be given the option of being either the ambusher or ambushee in a Mistress-style confrontation with another eager boy. Those who choose to be ambushed will find themselves "mercilessly" eliminated from contention for that day's prize in squealingly adorable and panty-tenting ways. The same thematic elements (stealth and humiliation) will be present in this scenario, but with the usual Mistress trappings.

It's a little sooner than I'd have liked, as I still have a few projects floating around in my head, but a sudden expense (boo, lost glasses!) has put a hump in my budgeting for a big ticket item I was gonna buy in a few months.

Hey guys!

So as you may have noticed, I've been writing again. Happy to do it, its been feeling good as I write and I've been happy with the results. I've noticed that the last 3 stories haven't garnered the usual attention, however. As a writer, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least 35% attention whore--why would I be posting this stuff publicly if I wasn't!?--and that 35% is just curious.

With that in mind, I'd love it if you guys used this journal as a means to critique my work. People are reading it, but a view counter doesn't tell me much, and favourites typically don't reflect the actual reception of a story!

What do you like?

What don't you like?

Do the narrative styles detract from the story? Add to them?

Are you finding the themes over-done, or repetitive?

Let me know! I want to grow, and I can't grow if I don't know where I need to improve.

I'd also like to hear what people want out of streaming. I enjoy writing for an audience, and I find I do my best work while streaming. It's something I want to do more of, but it seems to have a very limited appeal. I'd love to hear what would get you interested in sitting in. Music? Chat? Let me know!

I work hard at writing, and a good amount of my work is free. I have no issue with this, honestly, but I wouldn't say no to anyone wishing to help support all the free smut I've provided over the years by dropping a few bucks a month to keep me writing. This will also help me keep my commission rates low. I've been considering raising them to between $8 - $10/page to help offset the time sunk into writing some of these stories, but will be far happier to keep them at the low rate of $6/page that it currently sits at.

So I've been talking to someone about some old stories I wrote, and it got me wondering.

Am I the only one who has a story/art they're incredibly proud of, which have "bombed" in terms of popularity? This isn't me saying anything dramatic, I'm just curious! I find my best work is the stuff I find myself truly invested in, and usually that leads to a fair amount of success in regards to views/favs/comments, but I've got at least 2 stories--one of which, I believe, is probably my best piece of writing--that've struggled to get much attention.

Just me? Or do you guys have stories to share about this as well? :)

I've always liked the hinted-at relationship between Zato & Ichi, and the urge to write more about them has been strong for... well... since I wrote this first one! Some of my human stuff I appreciate more, but the 1st person narrative interspersed with journal entries really came together well I think. However, the master/slave romance between Severus & Ionius amidst their desperate retreat from the picts--er--foxes is one of my favourite character interactions. I'll be honest, its always been a bit of a sore spot for me that this story wasn't received more favourably... or at least in a noticeable way. It's struggling towards 200 views after over a year.

I want to write more about them... I think it's about time Ionius mount his rescue....

So I finally made an F-List. It isn't very extensive, though I did go through the entire kink list. I feel like there're more custom tags I could create, and I still need to make a profile... but ah well, it's a start.
