Thought I would change up this journal since it had been left for so long. I'm doing the crazy thing and going to be doing Camp NaNoWriMo to try to finish up a novel I started in January that I have been stuck on. So wish me luck! One of these days I need to start another huge upload of artwork that I have had commissioned and maybe a few stories to go along with it I think.

Hey guys, with Chemical Attraction almost over (less than three chapters left), I decided to open up a contest. This contest will run until August, which will hopefully give me enough time to finish Chapter 7, and has some rules, as they often do. I'm going to be looking for THREE winners in three different categories: werewolf, human, hellhound/demonic dog.

Basically, these characters will become cameos for the comic and will be considered a part of my canon universe, rather than an AU. What this means is that only the three winners will have rights to be in my canon universe and will become permanent affixtures, when needed. This will include the sequel. Winner will retain ALL rights to their character, I'll just use them when needed.

THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWED:

--MUST have a human form, for all three categories.

--ONLY female/male characters. I understand there's agenders and transexuals and whatnot, but please keep it simple.

--Werewolf/hellhounds MUST have a werewolf/hellhound form that shows markings of the body and face, if applicable.

--YOU MAY USE BASES AS LONG AS YOU PURCHASED THEM/HAVE THE RIGHTS TO USE THEM

--You may NOT commission or collaborate with anybody on these. I will not allow shared rights of characters. It must be YOUR art and YOUR drawing. Character MUST be new.

--Your art skill doesn't matter so long as it's colored and everything is viewable.

--HELLHOUNDS MUST HAVE A CONTRACT MARKING SHOWN. Nothing complex, just a design they use.

--NATURAL COLORS ONLY. Hellhounds I will allow colors such as blues, reds, and greens, and purples, but they cannot "steal the show".

--Unnatural colored hair is allowed if it's dyed for all categories.

--Albinism, vitiligo, and melanism are allowed.

--HELLHOUNDS MUST HAVE AN ABILITY. Please no god modding abilities, though! Wings are cool and allowed, but nothing like 'immunity to all damage with my shield'

--ALL submissions must be shown as 'ref sheets'. IE. HUman form, hellhound/werewolf form, some information, contract mark (if hellhound), etc. PLEASE keep all information short and sweet. A small backstory is fine, but nothing I need to spend a whole afternoon reading.

This batch of adopts contains a Kirin (also called a Qilin), a Chupacabra, and a Selkie. All are male w/ penis and balls, but you can change that if you want!

What you do is bid on a silhouette (sorta like a blind adopt, but you have a general idea of what you're getting). When you win the bid, you pick out the palette you wanna use for the adopts colors. When you win, you get to see the lines and we'll talk about what patterns you want. I will not change the colors shown, but I can add an extra color as well.

You will receive a small ref sheet with a front and back view, along with an erect penis version for NSFW ref as well.

Work is ramping up and is going to be crazy here. I think my featured artist project will have to wait till things die back down. Been poking at some creature for world building and story stuff a little bit. That may be all that I do for the most part till July.

I will apologize now for using my first couple of features as guinea pigs while I figure out how I want to format these journals!

First Impressions

I have to say that I love TwistedTeeth’s expressive painterly style. His capture of colors and textures is fabulous. Whether the color palette is bright or muted there is a wonderful sense of visual depth in their scenery artwork. If you like monstrous creatures in all shapes and sizes TwistedTeeth is defiantely one who can provide them. One can tell that he has quite a love of drawing and designing creatures and the skill and imagination to bring them to life. Fantastical creature designs were what drew my attention to TwistedTeeth’s work in the first place.

TwistedTeeth also hosts a wide variety of different types of artwork in their gallery.

Water Puppy
I must admit this creature design commission is mine and I couldn't be happier. The layout is simple yet clean and easy to read. There is also a lot of detail without being too saturated. TwistedTeeth is easy to work with when it comes to commissions and always eager to provide the highest quality artwork for his clients.

Riverswim
This piece has to be one of my favorites. This image came out amazing! I just love the textural quality. Such expressive brush strokes. The perspective is lovely and the reflections on the water a extremely vivid giving it such a nice movement. I love the contrasts between some of those soft cool blues against the vibrant warm yellows, golds and greens it really makes the pop and gives a great sense of visual depth. I really like the subtle details like the henna colored tattoos the shadowed movement in the water that could be anything from living organisms to underwater terrain. Also the way you handled the skin tone, how shiny skin can be, especially if it is wet or damp making it look soft versus the stiffer highlights in the hair and fur giving it textural depth.

Old Evening Stones
This piece has a fabulous composition and a use of rich colors. I love how the focus is drawn to the singular character in the image yet the textural qualities in the backgroud give a great sense of visual depth. Despite the relatively cool color palette for this image there is a great deal of warmth through the entire image from the filtered sunlight. TwistedTeeth captures subtle color shifts brilliantly.

I'm debating on starting an artist feature of the week or bi weekly here in my journal. See if that helps get me motivated an maybe give a shout out to artists throughout the site. Not sure who all is watching or who is active anymore but it may be worth a shot. I'm thinking of starting this on monday.

I'm going to start cleaning up and re-arranging my gallery here. I will be adding several new folders to my gallery and be uploading commissioned artwork to appropriate folders once I have enough information to go along with said pieces. At this point in time I don't plan on deleting anything from my gallery but I may start moving a bunch of older pieces into my scraps.

Eventually I will be trying to get myself motivated to start submitting more artwork of my own here.

!!!Easter Lily Toxicity with Felines!!!


Hey with Easter coming up and stores pushing those Easter Lily sales, I just want to remind anyone with cats who plans on getting those sweet smellin' plants: DON'T. Or put them somewhere your cat cannot access.

They are a highly fragrant toxic plant that is usually sold around this time of year. Any cat owner knows that cats love to chew on plants. This one will make them seriously ill or even kill them. It will not kill dogs, but it is highly toxic to CATS.

Symptoms of easter lily poisoning include:
-Drooling (Excessive, not like the dribble you get if your cat drools while being petted)
-Vomiting (pieces of plant in the vomitus)
-Loss of appetite
-Increased urination, followed by lack of urination after 1 to 2 days
-Dehydration

How to check for dehydration in cats:
"If you take a pinch of skin over the cat's shoulders and pull up gently, the skin should snap back into place when released. As the cat gets more dehydrated, the skin goes back in place more and more slowly. If the pinch of skin stays up (the "tent"), it is a sign of severe dehydration. The cat should be seen by a veterinarian immediately."

I've been quite silent here for some time so I figured I might as well dust of this old journal of mine. I'm not certain when I will get back to posting artwork here. It will require me getting some artwork to an actual finished stage. I was without a well functioning computer for a while so it put a big damper on things. This month I am participating in the NaNoWriMo so that is occupying much of my free time. I don't really need any more projects on my plate but I have randomly been bit by the werewolf bug. It has kind of given me an itchy rash that requires lots of new werewolf head cannon and story development. So I will just have to see where it goes.

I have gotten two short werewolf profiles written and one super long and complicated profile written for two different head worlds. Along with notes for both head worlds. Both of these worlds are unrelated and the werewolves are quite different, at least to me, between the two. They are both still developing so it will be interesting to see

a.) how they develop
b.) where they are going to run off to.

Crazily enough one has developed an alternate dimension version of itself for a story I plan on starting to write here soon. As a friend said it's Canonseption, and I must say that I agree! So makes I have a whole other set of head cannon stuff for certain aspects of that dimension too.

The art front has been going slowly I must say but I am hoping to ink a new piece this week. Its been pulling together very well. Has be a bit excited. Compiling a small folder of sketches that need inking as well so hopefully I will be able to get to those soon.

I must say that I have a large drawing that is starting to pull together nicely and I am hoping that I will be able to start the inking process tomorrow given that the background is now nearly complete and I have just a few minor tweaks to finish. I have a friend of mine to thank for a few suggestions, things that I normally forget about at times when I decided to add backgrounds and forget visual weight.

Well I decided as I was looking through many of the half finished sketches that I have that I might as well try and finish a few off. So hopefully over the next couple weeks everyone will see some new finished works even if some of the pieces are a bit older. Though I do use the world older as a flexible term since some of these pictures are a few weeks old and some of them are a few months...or sometimes more.

Well I tried my good honest crack at a reference sheet for a new anthro mouse character of mine and I thought it came out quite well. It was a bit of a fun draw and I am thinking of continuing with reference sheets from time to time of characters, creatures and what ever else comes across this crazy mind of mine.

I am sure that I will improve with each sheet that I do. I don't feel that the one I uploaded is my best drawing work, it was really done as a reference for myself but I liked it so I figured I would show it off. I guess I should make a list of what all/who I wish to do. Let me know what you think ^^
