Posted 5 months agoI can’t live up to my word. Every time I try and promise everyone I’ll follow through I can’t. I’m too overwhelmed and too depressed to even trick myself into thinking I can do this. I’m barely maintaining a full time job, lonely, and unable to participate in the community how I want. I bet no one even really reads this junk anyway. Lord knows I can’t even find it in me to feel proud of it. I’m sorry everyone, I’m not enough.

Posted 7 months agoOk so I've done some talking on a discord I frequent but I realize I neglected being transparent here. Just being upfront without oversharing, these past few months have been rough. I'm still getting the hang of being a professional writer, and I've clearly hit plenty of bumps. I do apologize for the silence and lack of communication, but appreciate all the patience that's been given to me. So many of you are probably wondering, what now? Well I got a solid breakdown of a few things.
Firstly, no I'm not done lol, I'm ending my unannounced hiatus start of next month and will make an effort to post two non commission stories at least once a month. I'm really tryna get back on that horse and put myself out there more, so I'm hoping to do a few experiments. Secondly, the sort of baddish news is I'll likely be restructuring how I do commissions. I absolutely love doing them and for sure plan to try and make it a thing, but there will be some changes. For one, I still don't feel like I'm like....professional level, so I don't wanna price too high, but those commission discounts take out waaaay too much and I've had them almost always apply which has hemorrhaged me quite a lot. It's also resulted, as you may have seen, on me having my work tied to a LOT of
bigtiddyfoxgf 's work and clients. Pretty much 80 percent of my stories have been attached to their commissions. Now I absolutely love Fox, and they've been incredibly supportive to me through this journey and I cannot express anything but love for them. Please go follow them if for some reason you're following me but not them lol. That said, I don't wanna be attached at their hip hah. To help with that I'm gonna look into working with more people, doing collabs and trades when I have time. I think a large reason I got so overwhelmed was how much of my work was commission oriented, and directly tied to already finished products. I definitely could use the money (I work like 20 hours a week rn) but I think consistency is more important at the moment. I think it would help a lot if I wasn't pushing myself to work to a client's desires, and post long form stories constantly. It's kind of embarrassing to admit it but it's honestly true, I'm not a professional. I'm interested in writing, I listen to essays often, and I love the idea of making it a job, but I've only been doing it as a business for a year. I think it's more important for me to iron out those bumps before trying to use it as sustainable income. That said, for those who do worry, I am FINE financially. Commissions were entirely disposable income, and I don't want anyone to feel like they need to to support me hah. I think I want to change my goal to focus more on building my brand and follower base to be able to branch out more. So again, I'll be focusing on the goals I stated above starting March.
That said, that comes with another caveat. While I haven't really gotten many requests, for the peace of mind and ability to not feel overwhelmed, I will be closing commissions until the end of April. Those clients who I have agreed to do work for even if I have not been paid will still be worked on, but any incoming work starting now will be denied until I'm able to maintain it. You know who you are, please reach out if you have questions or decide you'd like to cancel the commission. I completely understand if you've changed your mind, it's been a ridiculously long time. I'm incredibly ashamed of that unprofessionalism, and I'm stopping it here. Sorry to anyone saving up for one, but I need to be realistic with myself. I'm not a big 200k follower furry smut writer with a Patreon, I'm a fresh off the press newbie lol. I don't think I should be taking on as much work as I did.
So I know I did a lot of rambling there, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out there. Hopefully it isn't discouraging to people who just came here to read smut. Anyway, for clarity, I'll go ahead and summarize what's changing and what's coming next:
-I'll be altering my commission pricing and discounts to be more generous to doing multiple small stories as opposed to a few huge ones. Likely changing hard discounts to percentages, and removing some others.
-I plan to make an active effort to reach out to others for small fun projects, and encourage others to do the same to me. Can't promise I'll say yes, but I wanna try.
-I will be holding myself to making at least two stories a month, likely done biweekly purely for the sake of you all. They will likely follow no direct canon or theme, won't be too long, and will be done just for fun~
-I'm not going anywhere, I'm just gonna be scaling back my workload to be more manageable for myself.
Anyway, thank you for coming to my TED talk to listen to me yap. I again do apologize for the complete drop in posts with zero explanation, but I assure you I'm not beating myself up about it. I just needed to think about a new approach, and hope that it ends up working well for me. Shout outs to all my wonderful clients who have been more than patient with me, you're the real rockstars!
