Twenny-Twenny-Fore
Posted a year agoI won't lie - 2023 was rather shit.
I lost my cat, my grandfather and my aunt.
I still didn't get a regular job.
This December was the worst I can remember, with me having to shell out the dosh for a new window, as well as my car's starter motor giving up the ghost in the cold weather - it's been at a rather expensive local garage since the start of December.
HOWEVER.
It's a New Year, and I'm looking forward to things getting better, from the start of the year (my 30th birthday!) to the end (Sonic 3!).
I've got resolutions, too, like acquiring a new PC, a new car and a new job!
So here we go - let's have this New Year!

HACKED ON DISCORD
Posted 3 years agoTLDR: been hacked on Discord.
So - a friend asked me to try out a 'game' they'd supposedly made called SpaceEnvasion.exe.
I should have known this was suspect, as they've never even spoke about being a game creator before.
Stupidly, I accepted, and I think I've been hacked, as I cannot send messages or view anything.
I've received both password and email change emails.
I contacted Discord, as well as friends, and will see what can be done.
If I've been messaging you anything weird or asking you to try anything, please ignore it.
Fuck.

The Decade
Posted 5 years agoSo, in this decade, I:
Dived down some stairs and got a concussion; Graduated secondary school; Started college; Failed college; Got a job; Lost the job; Went back to college; Actually acquired a qualification; Got a driving license; Volunteered at the Citizens Advice Bureau; Had a mild mental breakdown; Got a job with the Citizens Advice Bureau; Discovered I have autism; Went back to volunteering at the Citizens Advice Bureau; Got a car; Made 30+ friends (including 2 cats); Became a quarter of a century old.
And how was your decade?

Whyte Knuckle: In A World of Their Own
Posted 6 years agoSo, this journal was inspired by an interaction with an acquaintance of mine, and it's about the canon of the Whyte Knuckle characters.
It concerns a rule that I've been meaning to implement regarding the 4 members of Whyte Knuckle (Ricky, Rusty, Maxxie & Geiger), their respective parents, Moxie, Aurora... basically every original character of mine in the 'Whyte Knuckle' and 'Whyte Knuckle: 20 Years Later' folders.
I apologise if it makes me sound like a little kid who won't share his toys, but - I'm putting them all into their own little universe (hence the title of this journal).
That means that none of my characters will be seen with any characters who have not been made specifically to be featured in the Whyte Knuckle universe.
Reason for this is that, frankly, I'm uncomfortable with the thought of anyone trying to get my own characters to do something that I don't think they should be doing.
Call it controlling/overbearing/whatever you like, but I'm afraid that that's the way it is.
Thank you for reading.

The Big 2-5
Posted 6 years agoSo here it is: I am now a quarter of a century old!
As usual, I don't feel any different, and the only real changes from this time last year are that I now have a job (but with half the hours I used to do last year).
But yeh: that's it.
Cheers!

Did It
Posted 8 years agoWell, I managed to get through October without spending any money on commissions :D
Still, not going to go all crazy and blowmy a load on getting a million pictures: got both my mother and sister's birthdays coming up, and Christmas after that.
But I'm still proud of myself ^^

No More Commissions II: Octoberfest
Posted 8 years agoOnce again, I have decided to abstain from purchasing any commissions for an entire month, as I did back in February, but this time for the month of spoop: October!
The same reasons as before apply here: to save money and to test my willpower. Not even
:Denizen1414: could tempt me into breaking this, not even if he offered to draw all my characters for just a tenner!
...please don't offer me that, Den. That probably would make me break.
I have but one picture to post soon, but that will be it until November 1.
Wish me luck ^^

Gudbuy T'Archie
Posted 8 years agoUnless you've been living under a rock recently, you've probably heard that the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic series is no more, and I'd like to share my thoughts on this event, and on the comic itself.
The first time I saw an Archie Sonic comic was in the Extras section of the Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2. The gallery contained the first of the comics in its entirety, and all of the covers of the subsequent comics up to issue #139.
I thought they looked fascinating, with characters I'd never even heard of before (I never watched SatAM growing up, mind you), and so I took to the internet to find out more about them.
I immediately got stuck in with finding and reading the entire library of the comics, and I fucking loved them!
I loved the action, the fact that very few of the female characters didn't kick ass at one point or another, the lovely artwork and the fact that it gave me a crush on Mina Mongoose.
And then issue #243 came around, where former writer Ken Penders took his ball (and his characters) and went home, thereby wiping his bum on a 20-year comic with little to no regards as to its future.
Now, I can't really say much about Penders that the whole internet hasn't screamed at him through Twitter, but I would say this:
Good luck with the Lara-Su Chronicles. Judging by the state of your art and the continual savaging you're getting by Sonic fans everywhere, you'll need it.
Anyway, that meant that a significant portion of my favourite characters vanished, which tarnished my enjoyment of the comic somewhat. As did the Worlds Collide crossover. And the Worlds Unite Crossover. To be honest, even the inclusion of the awesome Honey the Cat, the Sonic the Fighters storyline or even the Sonic Unleashed storyline couldn't help my slowly mounting feelings of disinterest with the comic I had once revered.
When issue #291 failed to arrive on time, many people (including myself) knew that something was up. Rumours circulated on Tumblr and Twitter: is this the end of Archie Sonic?
And now, half a year later, it's true.
So thank you, Archie Sonic.Thank you for the memories, thank you for the adventures, the people, the places, the up, the downs and the in-betweens.

Success!
Posted 8 years agoSo, in January, I made a journal explaining that I was taking a month off of taking commissions.
It was an objective designed to test me, and see if I could stop spending money on commissions.
And it's worked!
I passed the month mark yesterday!
Get in ^^

No More Commissions
Posted 8 years agoRight, here goes: I have decided not to get any more commissioned work from now until February 7th, which is one month and one day away.
Main reasons for this decision are monetary ( I feel I'm spending too much), as well as to see if I have the capacity and willpower to pull it off.
There are still a couple of requests to come in, but that's it, nothing else.
Wish me luck ^^
