I've finally done it!!
Posted 8 years agoI graduated from Rutgers University!! I finally have a Bachelor in Animal Science!! It's been so long and really tough but at long last I have the degree I've always wanted. I even managed to get a C+ in Organic Chemistry! I also got my first job! I work as a greenhouse merchandiser at a Home Depot. It's part time and 40 miles away, but the commute is really fast and the people I work with are nice. So far, 2017 is turning out to be not too bad, let's all hope it stays that way! :)

ComicCon!!
Posted 10 years agoI went to the New York ComicCon on Friday! I dressed up as a Mass Production Evangelion (I don't mean to brag but I think I looked awesome). I felt pretty weird walking through NYC like that, but it got easier once I got closer to the Con. I was amazed at how many people asked for my picture and I felt really special :3 I even found an Asuka to pose with! Lots of people knew what I was and thought I was scary. I also got lots of cool swag: I got Pusheen and Hawlucha plushies, a TTGL car decal, a shirt with mai Waifu(Eva 01 lolol) on it, and I finally got my hands on an Eva 02 action figure, so now I have a complete set :3
Rest in Peace, Sweet Pippi.
Posted 10 years agoPippi left us to be with her mommy and sister this morning. She was being treated for a respiratory infection and she was doing so well over the weekend, but today she just got so much sicker so fast. She tried to fight to the very end but just wasn't strong enough. I will always love you, my little Pippi Pie, my Pippity-poo. She was the love of my life, and as much as I hate to admit it, she was one of my favorites, along with Roxy. She was the one who helped me keep it together after Roxy died. And now they're both gone. Yesterday she was hopping around and chasing her sister, and today she's gone. I should have taken her to the vet sooner. I'm so sorry, my sweet little baby.
I'm so tired of losing everything I love. I've lost three of my beautiful girls in barely over a year. None of my rabbits have ever made it past 7. I was hoping for at least 3 more years from them. I'm so sick of being so sad all the time and there's no pill in the world that can cure grief. On top of that I have a lot of difficult schoolwork to do, but I just can't focus at all when things like this happen. I don't even know if I'll be able to finish my costume in time for ComicCon. I'm just not strong enough to deal with all of this.

New kitten
Posted 10 years agoWe have a new kitten named Maisie! One of my mom's coworkers found her in their backyard and couldn't keep her nor find any shelters that were able to take her. She's so cute. She's a tortoiseshell and she has the most adorable squeaky meow. She seems to get along pretty well with the rabbits too, but my other two cats don't seem too keen on the idea of a new kitten in the house.
The light has gone out of my life
Posted 10 years agoRoxy passed away suddenly on Tuesday. She showed no signs of any illness. She was the sweetest rabbit anyone could have asked for and had the biggest personality. Her favorite spot in the garden was under the hydrangea bush. She only had three legs but she'd still power around the yard like a little pogo stick. She was my little cross-eyed baby and I will never be able to find another rabbit like her in a million years.
OMG

Posted 11 years agoThe last journal entry is a real downer, so I'm writing this one to bump it back.
Athena
Posted 11 years agoAthena passed away in my arms yesterday. She had an old eye injury that flared up out of nowhere after doing nothing for 3 years. It wasn't responding to normal antibiotics. We were just about to try injectable penicillin, but she was too weak to keep fighting. The infection must have gone systemic or something. She only started acting sick a few days ago, but I just thought she was sore because we'd used up her pain meds. She faded so fast. I was feeding her some critical care and she just started seizing. I told her that everything was okay and that I would always love her no matter what happens. She managed to hang on until I got home from class. If only she'd just hung on a little longer. She was a wonderful rabbit and a great mother to her babies. She was 5 years old.
College is fun
Posted 12 years agoWell, the semester from hell is finally over. At least I know I passed half of my classes. I managed to fail chemistry so hard that I'm not even bothering to go to the final, since in order to pass I'll need to ace it. Math is still up in the air, but even if I get a D I'll still probably have to retake it, since my degree only allows 2 D's or some bullshit. If I'm lucky, I'll even get to graduate when I'm 27!!
College is fun and wholesome and everyone should do it as long as they don't mind the crushing despair and hatred of life, themselves, the world and everyone in it they'll inevitably experience!
Oh god why didn't I just stick with the fucking art degree

Roxy is back home!!
Posted 12 years agoI picked up Roxy on Thursday! Aside from only having three legs now, she is doing well and eating. She's getting around surprisingly well on three legs. Unfortunately, she hates all her medicine and moves her head away like a naughty baby when I try giving them to her.
Bunny Troubles
Posted 12 years agoRoxy broke her leg in the worst possible place. I was carrying her, she jumped out of my arms and hit the dining room table, and broke her femur near the hip. She's going into surgery tomorrow to have it amputated. The first vet we went to suggested that we just euthanize her, but we fortunately managed to get a better second opinion at another hospital. The only other option was a very complicated surgery that may not even work and has a high chance of getting infected. I'm still really worried, since I've lost two rabbits in surgery, but fortunately the vet there has done many amputations on rabbits.
On top of all this, I have a big horse presentation to do tomorrow, and I despise public speaking. I just want all of this to be over and have Roxy back home and safe. I'd just taught her to walk on her hind legs, too. Please keep Roxy in your thoughts tomorrow. I need all the luck I can get. :(

ARGH
Posted 13 years agoWell, we had to get a new computer. The old one's motherboard just up and died like a little bitch. Of course, the Dork Squad can't move programs from one computer to another because "DUR WE NOT ALLOWED TO." So I made them give us the hard drive so I can fiddle with it and hopefully get all the programs I can't re-install off it. I don't like WIndows 7 yet. It's too new and confusing and different. The resolution's all weird and all the text on the internet is bloody tiny. I wish they had Windows XP skins for it. Well, at least I can play newer games on it without lagging. I liked that computer. 6 years with no incidents. :( Good night, sweet prince.
Also, the old printer isn't compatible with it!! OH BOY so we had to get a new one of THOSE too! IF WINDOWS 95 98 AND XP GAMES WORK ON IT WHY WON'T THE DAMN PRINTER ARRRGGGHHHH this really chaps my ass
On a brighter note, I went to Montreal this month! It was so awesome. All the signs are in French and I had fun translating them. Fortunately, everyone there also speaks English. We went to a bunch of museums, the Insectarium, the Biodome, and Notre Dame basillica. We even got to go to an organ concert there! Our hotel was really nice, and the vending machine had chocolate Smarties. I love Smarties, but they don't sell them in America. What gives? Anyways, Quebec is a wonderful place and I really hope to go there again soon.

Posted 15 years agoI haven't been updating very often because I'm lazy and my tablet isn't working. Also, I have a rather uneventful life. Time for news! Well, for Christmas I finally got a Wii. It's really fun. My Gamecube is now, sadly, obsolete. I got Super Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario along with it. It's also been snowing like crazy up here, so I'm stuck inside most of the time. I'm also applying to Rutgers in a few days, so keep your fingers crossed! No other school around here has a good animal or agriculture program, so it's pretty much the only one I can apply to.
In less happy news, my mom got laid off, so things are kind of stressful right now, and we have to hold off on getting the rabbits spayed. I'll probably get a job over the summer since I won't have any more classes to take.

Cape May
Posted 15 years agoI got my car back after lending it to my sister, so I drove to Cape May for the hell of it. I saw a lot of cool things, like this giant concrete bunker and an old sunken concrete ship. There sure is a lot of concrete there. I also saw dolphins! It was such a good day and I got ice cream too. :D
Keira is gone
Posted 15 years agoKeira, my jersey woolly, passed away in my arms at 4:40 today. She had been sick for a while. She was a wonderful rabbit and she will be greatly missed.
Williamsboig
Posted 15 years agoMom and I went down to Virginia to visit my sister and go to Colonial Williamsburg this weekend. It was really cool.
On Thursday, my sister drove us to DC and we walked around the mall for a bit when it was dark. I also blew $70 on books at a Borders.
Then on Friday, we drove to Williamsburg. I really like that kind of stuff, so it was fun. I got to go on this walking tour where we visited the stables and got to meet the carriage horses. We also toured a bunch of buildings and stuff. It was pretty hot there, but all the guides said it was a lot worse earlier in the week, so we got lucky.
We had to drive for seven hours back home on Saturday, where we arrived at midnight and I immediately went to bed. The end!

21!!
Posted 15 years agoWelp, I turned 21. I got Pokemon Heart Gold! Woo! We also went out to Fridays and I got my first cocktail. Nope, no 21 shots for me, I'm sensible. Unfortunately, the weather was bogus and I haven't been feeling to great, so today wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be. I also had to study for my English final tomorrow. Just my luck that my birthday's right before finals! Oh well.
Beardie
Posted 16 years agoI got a bearded dragon on Friday. He's really cute, but I don't know what to name him yet.
Bunbuns
Posted 16 years agoOh god, bunnies are so cute I could just snuggle them FOREVER.
Sister's home
Posted 16 years agoMy sister Emily came home from Europe! Also, I have a dumb history paper to write and IT SUCKS. My last history class was a lot easier. >:(
