super long story short, i went to get my phone fixed because my battery has only been holding a 40% charge. the battery in my phone has swollen so i’m basically sitting on something that could explode if i use it. i need to get a new phone, which is money i don’t have.

on top of that, someone reported my patreon account and it has just been suspended for an unknown reason. i’ve contacted patreon to see what’s going on but so far there’s been no word.

i am beyond frustrated with how things are going right now. my income has been cut and i have to spend money for a new phone.

the past year and half has been something of an experience, both good and bad.

been trying to figure out how to word this post. do i explain what happened? do i not? how do i apologize to those i left hanging? what should i say? what shouldn't i?

so.
a lot of stuff happened last year.
at the beginning of this year, i was hospitalized for a suicide attempt. since then, i've been given an actual diagnosis and have been in multiple therapies and voc. to get myself better.

and i'm finally getting to a stable place.

there's been...so much going on and i've been getting healthy. i feel strong enough to be able to communicate with folks again.

i know there are clients i owe work. i will ask you email me at illustrations.by.nico@gmail.com to work something out.

i really cannot express how sorry i am for dropping off the face of the earth as i did. my problems in my life built up and i had tried to run and hide from them. none of that ended well and it's taken me the year to straighten things out for myself.

i hope you all can forgive me for my silence and my slowness as i settle back in and do what i can to make things right.

I've noticed commenting/faves have taken a dive and I'm curious on what I can do to improve interest in my work. :)

Ok! So I did get a bit of interest, so I will be hosting an art slave auction. :)

Standard ToS applies as does the will/won't draw list. If you're unsure, please ask before bidding because I don't want anybody to be disappointed~

The time span will be for thirty(30) days. How much work I get done in those 30 days will be dependent on the winning bid. :) The higher the bid, the more/complex work I will be doing!

Some rough guidelines:

$60 -- $100: 4 sketches OR 1 detailed painting
$101 -- $300: 5 sketches AND 1 detailed painting OR 2 detailed paintings
$301 -- $500: 10 sketches AND 1 detailed painting OR 3 detailed paintings
$501+: I'll bake cookies for the rest of my life for you and we'll discuss lots of art. Perhaps a series of paintings!

This, of course, can fluctuate, depending on how much is spent and how quickly you can get your ideas to me. :) Sketches can range from very loose to detailed. Paintings will be my usual standard of detail.

The 30 days does not have to be in one chunk (in fact I prefer it not because of my work schedule) but the amount of work will equal to that.

You CAN joint bid on this! So if you want to team up with someone to bid, I will split the work as the bid is split to keep things fair unless otherwise discussed. :)

Apologies for the personal journal but I figured it was coming time for this.

Things are coming to a head here, in a good way. I've been picked up by an agent, I'm going to be moving in a couple months into my own place, I am getting my finances worked out, and, for the first time in 10 years, I've been able to function without depression.

I really want this new chapter in my life to start right and, as such, I need to get through everything owed.

I can't begin to be grateful for everybody's patience. I can't begin to thank those that have supported me, and sat up through the long nights of crying and self-doubt.

To the people I owe commissions and trades, I still have all intentions of completing the work I owe. Though it is no excuse, I have gotten to a point where I can focus on work as work, I can separate my private and business lives. For a long time, I would let dealing with my family overrun everything else. I would exhaust myself trying to emotionally support my mother and nana and not leave anything for myself. In this, I neglected my work and my commissioners and simply sailed through in hopes of people not noticing how much time had passed.

And every time I would log onto FA, it would be with dread, thinking that today was the day I would get the notes pouring in.

Why this never happened, I don't know. And for everybody out there waiting patiently, expecting updates, or to see *something* in the way of work, I thank you. For your patience, your understanding, your support I thank you.

I've been in therapy for a year now and I have gotten much stronger.

Please bear a bit more waiting as I work.

I cannot continue living my life in excuses and expecting people to get dragged along with me.

For the first time in a very long time, I can say I am excited for the future. I am happy and I am content in my life.

I am eager to get paintings finished. And I am looking forward to making my clients happy.

Next year I am going to be doing a dragon-a-month thing for my portfolio. Realistically painted with background LIKE THIS. I am looking for any dragons or dragon-like creatures for this project.
