It's been an interesting past year, I had a lot of things to figure out and in addition to that, this week is one year at my new job. I'm working as an environment artist for StormLight Workshop, making art for FlightRising. You may have seen a couple of my things over there. I haven't uploaded much because I haven't been doing larger pieces for myself since I draw all day for work, but I really should make time for myself and my own characters. But otherwise I'm stable and have a roof over my head so I'm happy.

As for more personal things, I have top surgery scheduled this February! It's been a long road with tons of hoops to jump through to finally get this done. I hate asking for help but it's expensive and my mental health is at stake. It’s probably come to no ones surprise that I haven’t been active at all. Things have been uncertain lately. I’ve mostly just reserved to drawing in my sketchbook because there’s no pressure but I’m struggling on my own identity right now. I used to know what kind of artist I was, what kind of person I was, but over the years of moving through so many friend groups and moving so many freaking times (having to make friends and then having to leave them all over again). I used to have my interests as an artist, in an artist circle. I used to be much more active in the fandom, knowing every suiter and maker and every artist under the sun but I’ve felt so distant. All this moving has made me ultimately feel lonely. I’m having trouble financially on top because of said moving. I’m not sure what I want to do either in life and art. Socially speaking I’ve had a lots of ups and downs. I didn’t handle my ptsd very well but even as I finally feel like I’m going somewhere and I can allow myself to romantically be with someone I feel like I’m stuck in some bad fan fiction of never being able to move on from this person that I’ve loved for years. I have my best friend, but even she’s not sure where she’s going to be in a year. I don’t know where I’m going to be in a year. I don’t know what I’m doing and I’m tired of instability and confusion. I’ve been gendering questioning for some time now and I’m pretty sure I’m trans but the fear of how this will impact my family life scares me. My rabbits are my saving grace, I truck on for them and their love. I guess what I’m saying is that there’s a lot of stuff going on mentally. I haven’t been posting much because of it. I hope it clears up soon. But I’m thankful for everyone who ever supports me and my art. I just wish I was a little more together right now.

So two months ago I was biking and accidentally rode into some sand. I tried to catch myself with my foot and landed weird. Had pain ever since. There was no external signs so I thought maybe I just pulled something since usually when you break something you get a bruise or swelling. Ever since then I've been putting up with the pain, even during my move to Seattle. It wouldn't go away so I finally went to see the podiatrist last week and low and behold the xray's revealed I actually fractured a bone and have been walking on it for two months.

Welp, now I know I wasn't just complaining about the pain for no reason. So now I have to wear a boot, it's difficult to do day to day activities and I have to rest when I can but at least it's taken off the pressure and the pain has greatly reduce. Let's hope it will heal well enough for my next check up and I won't have to get foot surgery! Anyway, that's what's up with me.

(Also tomorrow is my birthday, whoop!)

So I may not be uploading as much as usual lately, but that's because I got some secret projects happening. I can't give specifics but you'll see when it's ready! Also it's the holidays. HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

This is a little late of a journal, because we've been getting ready and was in the middle of traveling. We've been in central Florida for 13 years and been through so many hurricanes. But Hurricane Irma is huge and powerful. Originally my parents were going to visit my grandmother's in PA as she's getting older in years and her dementia is progressing. With the hurricane coming we weren't really keen on just me durring a Cat 4 hurricane home alone with the animals. So we came up together to PA to see family and get out of the storm. With the traffic and frequent stops for the dogs it was a collective 24 hours in the car. We've met a lot of other people evacuating on the way up. Everybody is friendly and helpful, striking up conversations about your plans and connecting over the mutual crisis. The animals did extremely well in the car. I think my rabbits weren't too happy with having to stay in their dog crate for such a long time but now that we're at our destination they have their pen set up. Claude was staring at me the entire time, the silly boy. We're not quite sure when we'll be back, especially depending on if Jose will back off. However I have my cintiq with me, so if anybody wants a commission I have all the time waiting around for this storm to go away. xD

I'm sorry I've been so quiet, uploading some art here and there. I was working as a colorist for a comic for the first two volumes to be announced on comixology, unfortunately I cannot give much more information then that until it's published for the public. I'm currently working at our local psych hospital as clerical support in Risk Management. It's a full time job so it takes a lot of hours but it helps with the bills and now I can focus on my own personal art. I can hope I can do my own comic, but I've been struggling with decisions on which I want to do, but hopefully I'll have something soon. Either way, I hope you are all having a great summer!

A small update! luckily no major damage was done to our house, my whole family is safe including the puppers. We do have some clean up to do, Matthew made sure he'd at least give us some trouble. Because of the hurricane I couldn't do my inktobers, couldn't bring the supplies with me nor did I have a scanner available. I'll be playing catch up soon. Hope you're all well!

I'm really glad I got some positive feedback on the test page I uploaded. I've been meaning to work on a webcomic for a while now as it's something I always wanted to do. My first ones are still floating on the internet somewhere haha. I'm going to push to see if I can get more pages done, see how much time to work process is etc. But If something gets going i'd really love to open a Patreon with tiers for seeing pages early etc.

OCTOBER IS COMING!
Screw winter, fall is here. There's cinnamon smell in front of publix, pumpkin candies on the shelves. I'm so excited to fursuit for halloween and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids. It will actually be the first time my parents will see me interacting with kids in suit since I mostly fursuited when I was away at school. But october also has another exciting thing! INKTOBER!! I couldn't participate last year because I was taking the two busiest classes of my major but the year before that I finished all 30 and would love to do it again. If you're not familiar with it, Inktober is a challenge to make an ink drawing a day for the whole month of October. I'll be uploading individuals on my Twitter and Tumblr, and as I did before upload them in bunches to FA so I don't flood inboxes every day. So if you'd like to see them as they come, follow me there!
