I've been off in the wilds of the Croajingalong; meeting many strange and wonderful animals, getting sunburnt and mosquito bitten, collecting bones and feathers and shells, doing watercolours among other things. It's interesting for a time but I get too lonely out there, I'm a city kid through and through and I'm very glad to back with my bed and showers and all my friends!
Also I'm thinking I'll clear out my scraps and putting up things I've commissioned/traded/requested because they're pretty and I don't get to show them off enough

Posted 14 years agoI'm going away camping for a week so I won't be around, I'm not ignoring anyone!
The campground has lace monitors, they are probably my favourite lizard so that's nice
I fear I will end up being incredibly lonely and going crazy with just my family around but y'know we'll manage
Hopefully I will have some nice sketches on my return

Improved Much? Results

He went through every picture in my gallery (favoriting an awful lot of them :P) and came up with short-list filled with improvement points and other such wonderful things
So I'll be redrawing "Dance" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2423177/
I'm thinking of using this really giant sheet of paper I got just before Christmas... it'll be like a huge poster!

Posted 14 years agoOkay so I was going to do one of those improvement collages but because of my flip-flopping in style and that I sometimes randomly disappeared for months at a time, well, it's not going to very accurately show how my art has changed/gotten better/gotten worse
Then I had a thought! what better way to show improvement than to improve on something that's there? So I'm going to redraw one of my older pieces but I can't decide which one, that's where you guys come in; pick a picture out of my gallery (or scraps), preferably older than 5 months, and tell me why you think that's the one I should redraw
A not required section could be what should be added, is there some sketch you thought I should do a digital of? a picture that could be really great if only there was a background? a realistic version of a toony picture? or do you just want to see it with better anatomy? (that's important too!)
Whoever gives me the best reason to redraw a picture (or whose suggestion is supported by the most others), I will redo that piece and I will draw you something nice of your choice; sketch or digital, anthro or feral, realistic or stylised, yiff of course is out but that's about it

But yeah, good times. I'm not going to do a list of people I met 'cause it'd just go on and I'm on their lists so I'm sure you can add 2 and 2 together
I also vow to be more active online, I have msn now, note me for it. Please remember that such programs cause me some deal of nervousness, so please have things to talk about rather than just saying 'hey' and expecting me to jump out with something entertaining, I only do that IRL (unusual, isn't it? a furry that's only nervous online)

My parents generally don't mind giving me a bit of money but I've been getting pestered about needing a job recently, so I thought I could try and get some money doing something I love
I don't really have too much idea about prices, time things will take, ect. I'm just dipping my toe
I'll put down some prices and examples, feel free to comment whether you think they should be revised
I'm pretty sure most of my watchers are Aussie, so prices are in $AUD, it's pretty much parity at the moment anyway so not much conversion to be doing
For traditional stuff there may well be postage involved but it shouldn't be too much
Grey-lead Sketches $2 (+$1 for each extra character)

Secondary fursona... Yay or Nay?
Posted 15 years agoI've been contemplating getting a secondary fursona, I always thought I'd be a one character kid all the way but Ki ki has started to become a seperate entity from me and I'm not sure if I like that. I was always a bit of a wolf therian, Ki was originally my animal self but I've sort of moved away from that, I'm still a wolf but Ki is no longer that wolf, I am (oooh that sounds deep).
I was thinking maybe I'd make another character for my non-realistic narrative art (that's a mouthful isn't it?) and keep Ki just as myself; for my art that's reflections of my mood and what I actually do but if I do that I might end up with 2 characters, of which neither is exactly what I want. *sigh* for now I think I'll stick with Ki and my spades of randomly generated creatures, I'm not sure I can manage another whole fursona and after writing all this through I don't think it would help me either.
Hooray for working through to my own conclusions!

I'm currently going through a bit of an "uhh I hate my art" stage, (please do not now go and post that my art is wonderful unless you really think that, in which case thanks) My work is neither particularly stylish nor is it techinally brilliant, I know for certain I can do better than a fair bit of what I've been putting out. I'll probably finish the requests in the style I used when I asked for them but my other stuff will be undergoing a bit of a shift. Please tell me what you think, please be truthful.

I'll be doing digitals by default but you can ask for sketchies if you would like (don't quite know how they'll get to you)
Once I've done it I have a request for you, the recipiant
you can either a; give me something I have to improve on (be specific and if you can define a way to improve it that's super awesome!)
or (seeing as I'm thinking about doing commisions soon) b; say what you think a reasonable price for it would have been (no you don't have to then pay it :p)

Posted 15 years agoI'm going on a school tour, driving up to Darwin, for 2 weeks
I won't be putting up anything for a while but I've got a nice, new, red sketch book to fill up so I should have a couple of good pictures on my return. Lots of bus time = lots of drawing time

I don't think I've ever put anything in this box before
It's after christmas it's after new year and I'm finally catching up with myself
I just came back from a big camp and have some time to upload a bit of stuff, I did a few sketchs there too but chances are they'll never get here
