COMMISSIONS OPEN & Totals for FY'2015
Posted 10 years agoIf you are curious about commissions I currently have completely cleared my back log and am at a "ready to start now" state. My wrist is doing better but still not 100% so it may take a few days but I am back in action. :)
Feel free to check out my full pricing sheet here >>> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17685075/ <<< and note/PM me for details if you are interested in a custom perler piece!
I will also be looking into micro beads in the future, so stand by for some more info on that! <3
Side topic: Why I price my work at what it is and my totals for last year FY'2015
First off I do want to explain that this is a side hobby for me, it's not my main source of income. I enjoy doing it so I didn't expect to make a lot of money, but after preparing my taxes for tomorrow I was shocked to see how little I actually made over the entire year...
Total net profit for FY'2015: $137.25
Yes just 75 cents shy of 138 bucks. That is how much money I was able to spend on myself after materials, expense and taxes for the entire year of 2015 as far as my perler work is concerned. So if anyone has issues with my pricing please understand that I do enjoy creating custom perlers as a hobby, but I am barely breaking even with an entire year of work. Which is why I price all the custom work the way it is and believe the pricing is extremely fair. But if you do have any questions about the above listed information please feel free to ask me in a note/PM. Here's some other stats of 2015 if you're interested...
Total Number of Custom Commissions in 2015: 37
Total Number of Cons Attended in 2015: 3
Total Shipping Expenses in 2015: $178.46
Total Materials and Travel Expenses in 2015: $1,823.95
Total Number of Reported Broken Perler Pieces in 2015: 0 (There was one incident where a metal ring broke, but it was an easy fix, no perler piece itself has yet to be reported broken or damaged for the entire year.)
Estimated Hours Spent Creating and Melting ALL Perler works in 2015: 200+
Thank you all for watching / following my works and I look forward to a new year of creating new and custom pieces for you all. (^__^)/

No more pre-melt pics, because evil people like to steal :(
Posted 10 years agoSo I have decided to stop spamming with pre-melt pics for 2 reasons. 1, I'm sure it's annoying to some to see WIPs with beads and 2 because I've been having copy-cat issues with some evil people copying patterns Tora and I have created and are selling them on Etsy. So from here on out I will no longer be posting the Pre-melts. All commissioners (as usual) will still get the high-def pre-melt pics for approval and if they wish to post them that is fine. But due to the ease of being able to follow the pre-melt pics pixel by pixel I will no longer be posting those.
For those out on the internets that do see any of my stuff, please note that almost all of the time anything I post is an original. Either myself or Toradoshi creates the pixel work from scratch to follow for the bead patterns and perler work. So if you notice something online that looks like our work, please let me know.
Side note: we are VERY protective of your characters when doing custom commissions of your fursona or other request. Luckily we've only run into this once with original characters, but we were able to get the account banned for stealing the pattern and character. So again, if you see any of our stuff somewhere else that I don't normally post or being sold with out our knowledge just let us know and we will handle it.
Thank you everyone for your continued support! <3 <3 <3

Back from AnimeFest ~ COMMISSIONS NOW OPENED
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone! <3 With out getting to deep into details, AnimeFest was a bit of a bust, so as of tonight I am reopening commissions effective, well right now. lol
But I wanted to share something I did learned by attempting to have a booth at an anime convention opposed to a furry convention. Furries, by FAR, are more friendly, polite and generally more respectful of art than the sampling of the anime crowd I had over the weekend. So, thank you all for your support, kind words and appreciation of my and Tora's works. It means a lot, but even more so now after the weekend we had.
On that note, have a couple of idea I will be working on, but am ready to work. (^___^) Thanks again for all your support!

RMFC Over, Leave for AnimeFest Tomorrow!
Posted 10 years agoFirst off wanted to say that everyone I met at RMFC was awesome! Thank you all for coming to visit, chatting and checking out my stuffs. (^__^) <3
Now for the bigger news; I am heading to AnimeFest tomorrow to see how we (Tora and myself) do there. It's a pretty big convention with just over... I want to say either 10k or 12k attendance last year. Which will be a bit of a shocker for us because the biggest furry con we've been to so far (working at) has been TFF with just over 3k. I hope I made enough stuff. X3
WISH ME LUCK and I'll be at That Dang Cat & Kiyo Pi's table (that's me :D) in the bizarre bazaar if you want to stop by and say hello! Table D3 (I think, it's on the ends in the middle, you'll see us. XD)
I'll be re-opening commissions once I finish the list I get done from there. (^____^)/ See ya'll next week!

COMMISSION PROCESS + RAFFLE IS OVER
Posted 10 years agoThanks again to everyone that entered the raffle! I am humbled by the response I received and appreciate all the new watchers that helped out that second drawing!
I will be working on the two winners over the next few days but if anyone was curious about how my commission / winner process looks here's a step by step simplified. (^___^)
STEP 1 "THE REQUEST": I receive a commission request through a note / email / PM / my online commission form.
STEP 2 "THE REPLY": I reply with in 48 hours (unless otherwise stated on my page) if what they are requesting is possible and ask for references and commissioner information like email, paypal info, mailing address etc.
STEP 3 "COLOR PALETTE APPROVAL": I send a picture of the bead colors (actual beads) and options for colors to the commissioner to approve.
STEP 4 "PAYMENT": Once approval is received I send a paypal invoice and get started on the pixel work.
STEP 5 "PIXEL PATTERN APPROVAL": Once paypal invoice is paid I email a picture of the pixel work for approval on the pattern to be used for the piece.
STEP 6 "FIRST PRE-MELT APPROVAL": Once pixel work is approved and changes are made I set the beads for final approval before melt.
STEP 7 "FINAL PRE-MELT APPROVAL": Once changes are made and finally approval is gotten I melt the piece and email back full rez pics after the melt is complete.
STEP 8 "ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE SHIPPING": Email Confirmation shipping address (just in case)
STEP 9 "SHIPPING": Ship the piece in protective packaging and email the USPS tracking information to the commissioner
Slightly longer than most commissioning processes, but I like the commissioner to be a part of the creation process and get as must input as possible before I finish the piece.

ADDITIONAL RAFFLE INFO - PLEASE READ!
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone and thanks again for participating in the raffle! The response has been amazing and I am humbled that this many of you are interested in my works. (^__^)
The Bad News; My Grandma passed away mid-day yesterday so I will be leaving tomorrow early morning to head back to RI/MA to attend services and spend some time with family until about Friday.
The Good News; The raffle is still on and running. Worry not! Toradoshi will be taking over the drawing on Wednesday while I am away and has all my account info to confirm and contact the winner. She will also be requesting information like ref, mailing address and so on for my return.
I just wanted to let ya'll know that nothing will be posted by me while I am away, I won't likely get started on the winners piece until this weekend and my responses may be a little slow.
Thank you all for understanding, please be nice to Tora while I am away. ;)

So close, yet so far away, from what you ask? a FREE RAFFLE!
Posted 10 years ago3 more watchers to my 500 watcher raffle *gasps* sssoooooooo close, yet so far away. XD Here's what I have planned...
As a thank you to all my watchers once I hit 500 watchers I will have a drawing for a FREE custom perler piece of your choice. Ragdoll, headshot (not XL) or any of the pieces I have already made (non-custom). Only 1 entry per watcher and you must be watching me of course. (I will check BEFORE I announce the winner.)
Sounds pretty standard right? Well, how's this for an idea; for every additional 25 watchers I get during the entry period (one week) I will add another winner to the pool. Thus 525 = 2 winners, 550 = 3 and so on. I will have different prizes as well to make it a little more interesting of course. ;) (This will NOT apply to accounts made with in the last month, to avoid spam watching with new accounts. I will check all watchers @ 500+ before drawing winners.)
Sound like a good idea? I'm excited, are you? (^___^)

Being sick sucks... mmmm.
Posted 10 years agoEvening everyone, sorry I haven't posted anything in a few days, been really under the weather. Worry not, I have been sleeping and believe I am almost through this evil that has enveloped my sinuses and throat. I'll hopefully be back to work either tomorrow or Monday.
Good news though, only a few more watchers away from the 500 watchers raffle. (^__^)

Still posting on FA - But here's my other locations online
Posted 10 years agoWith recent events on FurAffinity, I would like to make it known that I also post just as often on Inkbunny, Weasyl, DeviantArt, SoFurry, Tumblr, FurGather and even FaceBook. Please don't be shy to Watch, friend and follow me over at those locations if you are dropping FA. I will continue posting here and on all these other sites, even in light of recent events. Here's to hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

FREE RAFFLE idea... so close yet so far away! X3
Posted 10 years agoSo I was thinking about having a free raffle once I hit 500 watchers. What do ya'll think? I'm at 377 and am only 123 watchers away currently. What's a good way to boost that so I can get ya'll some free stuff?
Once I hit 500 I would do a standard raffle (like I've seen on other fur's FA pages) for a winners choosing of a free ragdoll, head shot badge -OR- equivalent piece of anything they desire. Free shipping w/tracking included in the continental USA of course! (Outside US I will cover BASIC shipping, any tracking, insurance or anything else will be paid by the winner.) See gallery for examples!
Lemme know what you think in the comments! <3 <3 <3

TFF 2015 - Finally home! (commissions infos)
Posted 10 years agoJust got home from TFF 2015, what an amazing adventure it was! Especially the lengthy drive home through the snow... didn't see that one coming. Unfortunately I made the poor decision of spending the night last night (Sun to Mon) and there was a few inches of snow dropped on Dallas. Most of it iced over or turned into slush but it took nearly triple the time just to get out of Dallas.
To all my watchers; HUGE thank you to all of you for your support and ideas through out the months, I believe it molded the success of my first TFF Artist Ally table. *bows* I look forward to the new ideas to come across my table for this next wonderful year.
To my new friends and commissioners from TFF; Thank you for showing your support! Once I get unpacked and cleaned up I look forward to starting your work! <3
To the one fur copy-catting my perler paw-flags in the Dealer's Den this year; Please cease and desist. You have been reported to TFF Dealer's Den staff.
Otherwise, I will be unpacking and cleaning for the next few hours, I will have a list posted here shortly of my commission queue and their order. I will hopefully get started on the first one tonight. :)
Thank you all again! <3 <3 <3

Posted 11 years agoI often get questions about my pixel projects, perler in general and my first attending con as an artist TFF 2015! So here's some of the questions I have gotten and basically the answer I have given. If there's something you think I should add, please note me or let me know in the comments and I will answer and add it to the FAQs. (^__^)/
FAQs:
Q: What can these be used for besides coasters or wall hangings?
A: Any one of the perlers I created can either be as is, punched with the special hole puncher I will have with me and a ring or clip be added (comes with purchase) and you can turn any one of these into a badge for your lanyard. Also I will have magnetic tape with me so if you choose to do so I can also turn anyone into a magnet, which can then be stuck on anything metallic, like a fridge, computer case or car, though I would suggest a stronger glue for the car because of heat and wind.
Q: Will these hold up? I'm afraid I'd break it!
A: I'd be impressed if you did. Not to say they aren't breakable, but I have bent all of them 180 or more and have had my personal badge on a lanyard hanging from my wall for over 2 months now and there been no change in the beads. Anyone of the perlers I will be selling are extremely durable as a badge, magnet or something else. Check out my Perler PSA Durability for details or watch the video HERE.
Q: Will you be taking commissions if I see you at a convention?
A: Yes, I won't be working on anything there because of the time it takes and the amount of equipment I would need to melt and flatten properly, but I will be taking paid commissions and will ship for free if purchased at any con.
Q: Will you be making anything at the con?
A: Unfortunately no, I could bring a small amount of my gear with me, but I wouldn't want to affect the quality of the perler. The process I go through on each perler is about 24 to 48 hours. This is the best process I have found and the only process that I am aware of that makes them this strong.
Q: What if I see something in your gallery but it already sold, am I out of luck?
A: Nope, I am more than happy to take that commission request and make another for you at the same price as sold, shipping included of course. :)
Q: I want to learn perler! Can you teach me?
A: I am glad to help anyone with the basics, but remember this isn't as simple as it might seem. You're about to use a hot iron to melt plastic into what will hopefully be a work of art. Ask any artist that works with material things, pens, clay, hell anything. They will all say that they have a favorite brand or way of doing things, perler is the same way. Here's a good place to START.
Q: If I get a commission but I live outside the US is that ok? Can I still get one?
A: Of course you can! I can ship world wide, although it will cost a little bit more. For any outside US shipping I will estimate the shipping costs on USPS or UPS (your choice) and discount $10 from that cost because it would have been covered if in the US and I want to make sure you get the same special everyone else does. (^__^)
Q: Will you do characters from videogames and cartoons that isn't in your gallery?
A: Yuppers! Sprites that are readily available online I can do and are discounted because the pattern for me to follow is already in place.
Q: I like your pixel art and partens, can I use them to make my own?
A: If they say "Original Pattern or Design" in post or that is was a commission for someone else, no. Otherwise please feel free to use the link I provided in the comments or reference where I got the original pattern from and go nuts. (^__^)

COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN! SALE IS ON! $50 for a 9" x 9" HS-badge
Posted 11 years agoJust wanted to let ya'll know that I just went nuts on more colors for my color palette and ordered just about every color perler had available on their official site. Thus, the +$5 for colors I don't have can almost entirely be ignored in my commission statement.
Speaking of...
COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN!
Click on the link for details! The sale for $50 for a 50x50 pixel (or less) badge (this is about 9" by 9" in size, shipping in the continental US included) is still on until the last day of October. Don't have the pixel art ready? Toradoshi has also offered to do a custom pixel 50x50 icon for us to get that badge made for an additional $20. So for $70, you get a huge head shot badge, shipped to you, with a custom icon made and high-rez photos of the progress! Outside the Continental US? I will ship world wide and discount the shipping by the $5.00 it costs me to ship in the US from your shipping total. (Canada is about $30 before discount, estimating that Mexico should be about the same, further will likely be about $40, less any customs taxes that your country might charge on pickup.)
Questions? Note me and I will be sure to get back to you ASAP. :)

Influenza Type-A is the devil... thank god I have an angel
Posted 12 years agoCaught it on New Years eve, which cut my festivities short, was in home and in bed by almost 10pm. That night consisted of body aches, shivers and what I am sure was a high fever, which I didn't check until the following day. I rarely get sick so I normally brush this kinda thing off because it's gone with in 24 hours... I am very glad I have
to mother me sometimes, because I don't think I would have gone to the doctors as soon as I did if it wasn't for her. Once my fever spiked to 102.9 I got "the look" that if I didn't get an appointment setup right away and this thing didn't kill me... she would. lol So to the doctors I went later that evening, testing positive for Influenza Type-A, which is the same category that the H1N1 virus is in and can lead to pneumonia if not treated. Currently my fever is under control, still high, but I've got some good medications now and was set back about $200, but well worth my health.
Huge thank you and loving kisses to my wonderful angel that is looking after me... mind you this is an IOU for actual ones once I'm better. ;) Thanks for setting my man stupid straight.
I hope everyone else's new year's was wonderful.

I am sure someone else said this first....
Posted 12 years agoSo one of my FA friends was down and she got me thinking about what the purpose is of life... to live... so this little gem fell out of my head "Life is to love, to love is to explore, to explore is to experience, to experience is life. So go live life." I am almost 100% sure someone else had to of said that already because I'm not that deep. lol But I am to lazy to look. X3
