So, this past week and coming week I'm going to be studying my rear off for the GCIA test. We'll see how that goes, since I've been working on it for awhile now.

Mmn. Much missing for the loved one.

That didn't take long. I managed to lay the motorcycle over yesterday. The side of it got a bit messed up, though not as much as I expected. Breakaway mirror brackets are a remarkably good idea.
I'm fine, too. Barely even scuffed up my jacket, even though I slid a good 20 feet across the pavement. I LOVE that thing. Much too hot in the summer, but it looks great, and obviously it protects rather well, too!

I'm headed to Glow down in DC with a few friends tonight. It's not an ideal club, but they have some nice trance, and a pretty relaxed environment once they open up the main room.
That said, I managed to find some amusing big-cat print glowsticks for the event, so if you happen to be at Glow tonight, look for the tall guy with the cat-sticks, and say hello!

I went to a concert last night, first metal concert I've ever been to. I felt a bit out of place, but it was still a blast. (Really, I was surprised to see practically everyone doing exactly the same thing, one arm throwing the horns and bobbing the head, nothing else. This is compared to my other experiences of, for example, Weird Al, Jonathon Coulton, and Blue Man Group. All those audiences had much more variety.)

Okay, so now I have both my license AND a motorcycle. Awesomeness. I'll probably be posting a picture of it at some point; it's pretty.
Other than that, I have a Sonata Artica concert to go to tonight. Should be interesting. It's at the local metal venue, which I've never actually been to. Tomorrow is watching Fruits Basket with friends. Saturday is clubbing at Glow (did I mention that I found glowsticks with feline fur patterns printed on them?). Busy weekend, and I can't complain!

So, it's official. I have my shiny new driver's license with Class M written on it, so I can now drive a motorcycle.

*Snicker* Geez, if I end up getting a bike that's big enough for the handlebars to NOT hit my knees, and get myself decked out in all the leather protective gear, nobody'll EVER believe me when I tell them I'm subby...

So, recently I've been reading some trashy Warhammer 40K and Battletech novels. And I'm addicted to the idea of the futuristic power-armored psi-paladin, aka the Grey Knight. I was wondering if anyone knows of an artist that'd be interested in doing a commission along those lines? Most artists I've come across don't like doing mechanicals, and the character'd probably be human.

Just curious.

In other news, life's going well. Got a couple side projects done, got a con coming up, and got a wonderful fennec. Also, my birthday's coming up. My parents are getting me a grill. Given my love of cooking, and distinct LACK of a grill, that's great news. Cedar-roasted salmon, here we come.

I swear it's the place I work. Before I moved there a couple months ago, I was healthy as anything, but now... not so much. Probably the schedule preventing me from getting enough sleep...

Mm. The weather's great outside tonight. I'm gonna go read about space paladins, and update my gallery with commissions later.

That's right, the time when the temperature changes and everyone gets sick! Colds and flu run rampant around offices, especially small, closed in ones stuck in the basement with no fresh air like mine.

Not bitter. At all. Really.

I've been getting better, though, so I suppose I can't complain much.

Other than that, belly-dancing classes have been going pretty well, my harem-boy costume is coming along, if slowly... started to get more involved with the local furries, too. I didn't know quite how many of 'em there were around here, heh. (Hi Davin, Drakien, Ace, Will, and everyone else!)

I'm really hoping that running this Ironclaw game for everyone will kick me back into writing. It's been a while since I've felt the urge, but I feel like I NEED a creative outlet of some sort, and art... well, right now I can't cut it well enough for it to count.

...oh, and I added a ruler to the Big Closet of Toys. Wonder how I looked over something so obvious? *Snicker*

My parents got me a tablet for Christmas, and now I finally got a chance to set it up and play with it. Now, I'm no artist... yet... but it sure is fun to mess around with. And I'm a lot less paranoid about making mistakes when drawing on the computer, too. Heh, I may yet end up as a digital drawer, if I continue drawing.

Also, more commissions incoming.

1) Skydiving.
2) Sex in the snow.
3) Get a new(er) car.

Ideally, I'd like to do all three at the same time. Like, say, sex with a new car while falling through a snowstorm at 15000 feet.

Things've been busy for me lately... I got shifted to a new contract at work, which has me working 5AM to 1:30PM at a location that's about an hour away from where I live. Given that I'm mostly a nocturnal feline, I'm still adapting to this change, so I'm crashing early, often, and hard, heh. It's tough enough just staying awake at work and not passing out in front of the monitors.
My lease is just about up on my apartment here, luckily, so I'll be moving closer. Cutting the commute will help a little bit. (As would having a roommate, actually, since that'd give me someone to hang out with, game with, talk to, and all of that when I'm home. But first things first.) So I'm renting a nice three level townhouse out in Woodbridge. It has a balcony, a garage, and two wood-burning fireplaces, among other things... as soon as I saw it, I rather fell in love with it. It's nice, for a rental, heh... it's not what I would go for in a house that I actually buy (I mean, I need a basement for nefarious purposes! *Smirk*), but it's still a nice place, and both bigger AND less expensive than where I am right now.

In other news... I got a gift picture from  Hokshi! I'll upload it when I'm not feeling dead, but it should be the first picture in my favorites. Note the costume. Now, I've been meaning to update K's sorcerer-style costume for quite some time, and I think he hit the nail on the head for what I was going for with it, heh. Still has the flowy awesomeness, but with defined legs and a more detailed and practical top bit. I could entirely see K wearing that, in battle OR in study. Works well! *Grin* Thanks again, tiger!

So, because I like mead and good food, I've decided to hold a feast for Thurseblot (norse holy day during the first full moon of January to renew Thor's power and drive back the frost giants so there can be summer again). *Grin* I may not be overly religious, but hey, it means I get to cook good food for people! If anyone's in the Northern Virginia area and interested in coming to such a feast, let me know! It'd be either the weekend before or after the 22nd of January.

So, for Halloween I made an ASHPD (Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device), wrote up some waivers, got a lab coat, and went around to people at the parties I went to trying to recruit people to come help us test the gun, on a course that was guaranteed to be completely safe by our resident AI, GladOS. The gun came out rather well. I need to post a picture of it.

I mean, clubs're a place you're supposed to show off, I guess. So I need at LEAST something nice. And maybe my wrist cuffs and collar as accents, I'm not sure. Or bells? Do bells work?
