Posted 12 years agoIf you've commented/noted me and I haven't replied or updated the list yet, still count yourself as accepted. I've read every note I've gotten so far, but I've been a bit preoccupied the last few days working on getting my resume and applications out to possible new jobs, so I've been a bit awol online other than that. I've been a little down as of late as well, but I guess it's to be expected.
But yes, slots for regular commissions are closed as of right now, so, specific sketches, Flat colors, ref sheets, and the like are once again full.
HOWEVER, I saw another artist doing this that I can not remember their name off the top of my head at all right now and I feel bad about it, BUT....
I'll be opening this journal for $10 Wing-it style sketch commissions for warmups when I start drawing.
What exactly is this?
Well, Whenever I've gone to start drawing lately, my creative brain has been dead, and I end up sitting staring at a blank canvas for the longest time without anything really coming at all. SO, I'm asking for you all to give me a little jump start.
What this will be is I'll have people post a reference or two of their character(s) and every day I start drawing, I'll come to this journal first and pick one or a few to doodle. It might end up as a headshot, it might end up as a full body, but, I don't know what I'll do. It will depend on my mood, so, it will be a complete toss up on what exactly you'll be getting. These will be done on good faith, as I will message you when I start drawing (there may be a stream, there may not) and then just draw. After that message, you'll send me over the $10. Note, your sketch won't be posted until after I've received the $10.
If at any point you don't want to be in the 'drawing' for a wing-it warm up sketch, just hide your comment.
If I've drawn your character once already(I'll comment on which ones I've drawn) Just reply to my reply to your original post, and feel free to add different characters on if you'd like.
Also, if you're alright with other characters drawn with your character, or more than one of your characters drawn at once (so, it would be $20 or $30 instead of the initial $10) let me know in your original post as well.
One last thing, if there's anything VERY specific that you don't want to see with your character, AKA, the character is VERY DEFINITELY gay, or you DEFINITELY only want clean art, please let me know that as well, But you can not specifically pick a pose/theme/etc.

Posted 12 years agoWell, that sick day wasn't so fluke change from what I can gather... I've been super under the weather the last few days *hence being dead in the water* but I've got a couple days off that I'll be trying to work on stuff while I'm not... well.. Yeah... Don't want to get into that lovely bit right now.
I've not got the brain power right now to keep up my usual niceties, but I'd like to state that I fucking hate my inner gut system right now and wish I could take an icecream scoop to my innards... Just till they feel better.
I'm gonna be quiet the next day or two, too, but I'm gonna be working on the icons while I can... tomorrow... Like, i'll make an all day thing out of it or something. I may or may not stream, but most likely not if I'm still feeling like shit.
Sorry for the quiet, but, ya know. Life.
Gonna go pass out until morning now or something in like... an hour ish.

Posted 13 years agoJust as a head's up, I'll be resuming my typical streaming habits shortly.
This past week of work has been leaving me incredibly tired once I've been getting home, and most days, I've been given extended shifts, which is nice for pay in the long run, but I haven't had too much time to wind down lately, and all I've really wanted to do at home this past week is sleep. Haha, but things should settle down over the next week or so, so expect many streams!
On that same note, I will be trying to work a bit more on commissions this coming week than personal art, since I'm realize I've got quite a backlog so far that needs to be taken care of.
Now, onto the second half of this journal's title, Valentines day is about a month away, and while I personally will be celebrating singles awareness day on the 15th, I'd still like to work on some lovey dovey pieces. THAT said, I'd rather keep them to something simple and small that I can do in about one sitting, and as I've had several people come to me about Icon commissions since the headshot stream the other night, I figured I'd combine the two ideas into one for now.
So, I'll be offering up 10 slots for Couples icons, done similarly to the Watering Hole dual icons I did :

So they will be shaded, with some sort of background, which is usually something I don't offer for headshots!
Each slot (which will be 2 characters) will run at $25 per slot, and I will be doing 10 only.

And with that, I shall go wait for a certian Tiger-bob to get her shit together for her job interview this morning, so I can come back and stream, haha!

the-shadow-of-light has hit it a bit rough, so I'm going to be doing a Pay What You Want/Donation based stream for as long as I can today to see if we can't help him out!
I'll be doing flat color pieces, Headshots to Full Bodies (everything uploaded at the end) for varying degree's of donations.
Donation's up to $15 will get you a Headshot, up to $25 a half body, and everything over $35 a full body! Double any of those for 2 characters of the type, and so on and so forth.

Posted 13 years agoI'm a bit glad I'd delayed on getting my ticket for this con just a bit, since I wasn't honestly sure if I'd be going through with it or not, but as it stands, I've been told that everyone I'd been planning to attend with *'face' friends* won't be able to make it due to various reasons.
Tailbiter and Ace both have medical emergencies that have put their fun money through the grinder (Tailbiter will probably be getting surgery on her arting hand in the next month or so, depending on what the doctors rule and Ace broke his ankle/leg last weekend, so he's out for most of everything for the next 2 months or so, if not longer, since the doctors STILL haven't been able to do the surgery to officially reset his leg *it's mad swollen, so they can't operate. Wouldn't go back together right*)
AND TB had a job interview yesterday, which means they might be getting a job, which leads in to Narco as well, who had one the day before, haha, so, THAT'S all good news for them.
BUT, with con so close, there'd be no way they could get time off.
And the final party member was also relying on the previous 3 for transport and such.
Additionally, I've honestly been losing a bit of sleep over going. I've got a semi-mild agoraphobia, so any kind of large crowds scares me, quite a bit. Haha, hell, talking to lots of people online tends to scare me as well, but I've made some really great friends here so far. I do apologize if I tend to be quiet in stream, though. Part of it's getting caught up in the art, and part of it's not knowing what to say as well. I'm basically only good for oneliners most days if it's not a one on one conversation.
As an epilogue to that, though, I would like to apologize if I seem to misread some things in text. On occasion it's hard for me to place the right emotions into what others are saying, and I tend to take things at face value (sarcasm is dead to me unless I've gotten to know a person) OR I tend to think the worst and place semi-negative phrases/messages into a full negative tone bumped up a few notches, haha. Little smiley's and emoticons help me a lot in that sense, but I know I rarely use them myself. Ah well.
And now, to bring this silly journal full circle, I'm wondering what other con/s? we might be able to plan around. I DO want to go to a convention some time, though it probably wouldn't be until late summer at the earliest we would be able to start planning. I personally would like to wait until the snowy season starts up and maybe travel far up north for one *is pleasantly settled in america's glorious wang of South Florida right now, so everywhere is considdered north, haha* though, I guess I would like to keep it within driving range or so, as well. Somewhere that with a driver swap would only take about a day, maximum, since we would most likely leave either the wednesday night/thursday morning before con, and hope to be back home by monday night, tuesday morning afterwards.
Honestly, it will be far cheaper for our group to drive than fly, considering the vehicle we'd take gets about 35 MPG highway, haha, and a trip to Atlanta Georgia and back we figured would cost about $200 in gas, where as a plane ticket for one of us would be around $400.
But yes, ideas for conventions to plan for after august would be greatly appreciated! It would be neat to get to meet some of you all face to face as well, haha, even if I'm a nervous shaking mess the entire time XD

Yes, I will be taking on a couple more commissions as projects for AFTER I finish up the Backgrounds on the main of my current lot. Note, I DO NOT accept deadlines for pieces as I work at my own pace, and my guestimates for how long it takes are usually off, inspiration permitting.
That said, please NOTE me if you are interested, and I will be getting back to people a bit later tonight/tomorrow for the commissions that most spark my interest. Since this is going to a limited number of spaces, I MAY NOT PICK YOURS TO WORK ON THIS ROUND, but I will keep you in mind for the next round before I officially announce another run.
In addition, MY COMMISSION BASE PRICES INCLUDE 2 CHARACTERS. Single character pieces are the same price as the extra character price.
Information I will need:
COMMISSION TYPE (very important): be it Full color, Flat color, Sketch, etc, and if it'll be full bodies, half bodies, ect, or a combination of the lot due to camera angle/framing/positions.
Character references: Visual or written.
What you want: Please give at least a little bit of an idea what you are looking for. Image references for poses are ok, but please don't tell me 'artistic freedom' unless you are honestly looking for a whatever picture. The final outcome is what you get, and I will not make corrections on artistic freedom/whatever pictures.
