I had a wonderful day today ^^ spent most of it just hanging out with Dave, watching TV and the Olympics.

Then Dave wanted to take me out for a romantic dinner for two ^^ <3

So we drove like 15-20 minutes out to Bellfonte so we could go to this TINY Italian place, "Jim's italian." We've gone there before, and actually went there last year for Valentine's Day. We got there... and it's closed on Sundays. OOPS!

So we hopped back in the car and drove down the road a little ways to "The Mill." "Hey Kaitie, we might be a little under dressed for this place. but we'll check the menu and stuff anyways." OK. Yeah... so we saw people going in WAY more dressed up than us. We promptly exited the restaurant. Maybe another day.

So we decided to head back into State College and see what was there for us instead. We remembered "Olde New York" and went there. They were having a special for Valentine's day of char-grilled chicken, broccoli and heart-shaped ravioli over a cream sauce. IT WAS DELICIOUS! OMFG!

So Dave and I finally got our romantic little Valentine's Day dinner.

And to top it all off, Dave made a "surprise" for me when we got home. Brownies with peanut butter cups on top. MMMMMMMMM.

I love Dave so much, and I look forward to many more Valentine's Days with him <3 <3 <3

*WARNING* These are ALL my views and opinions. You can disagree, but please. no fighting, ok? This is just a little rant, I feel like I needed to get off my chest.

Dearest Furry Fandom,

I felt it a necessity to make a note on here to address everyone in a problem that I encounter almost everyday.

People are becoming more and more intolerable when commissioning artwork. When you commission an artist (be it for a fursuit or traditional artwork, or digital artwork etc.) you DO NOT OWN THE ARTIST! I cant' stress that enough. I've seen it in all sorts of media and have even experienced it myself. i've seen this happen with "Big-Time" commissioners such as famous suit-makers, and even with "Small-Time" artists.

Yes, you and the artist have decided upon an agreement. And both of you want to turn out a good piece of work. but nagging and bothering the artist will not making things better. if anything, it will aggravate the artist and they might come to resent you and the piece of artwork.

Oh, and Ref Sheets. if you have one, great power to you. if you don't, and say "hey look at my FA page for references" and "look at these one or two pictures for my ref" there's BOUND to be some mistakes made. These are not adequate "ref sheets". If you do not have one, I'm not saying that you're a horrible person. none in the least! I'm just saying, if there is then a mistake because of it, don't tweak. Things happen, and the artist wasn't given what they needed to make it EXACTLY how you wanted. Human Error. it happens all the time.

And for fursuits? you NEED a ref sheet! even to give a quote. you NEED a ref sheet. If someone says they need a ref sheet to give you a quote, and you don't have on, get one. Can't afford one? Then can you REALLY afford to be buying a fursuit right now?

Now, REQUESTS. This is the most recent issue that i've come upon in my adventures in the fandom. If an artist agrees to do a request for you. then great! Congrats. BUT that is more of a FAVOR that they are doing for you. If something doesn't do right for you, or something is not right in the picture. I believe it is then up to the artist to decide to change it or not. YOU DID NOT PAY MONEY FOR THIS PIECE OF WORK! CHILL OUT! Especially if the artist says that they will if it, but is very busy at the moment. I believe you can wait a lil bit before he/she fixes it for you. Again... IT'S A FAVOR FOR YOU.

Please Please Please. Then don't say "well I'll just fix it myself!" BIG No-No. Do NOt violate a copyright. I bet you if you give the artist time and ask nicely instead of getting in their face, they'll fix it for you, or give you permission to do so yourself.

So yes. So girl out there might tell you I was being a bitch etc. etc. but I believe all my points were valid. They may have come across as rude because I was merely stating fact that one or two people did not agree with me upon. Guess what? This is America... or better yet... this is the Internet. and I am entitled to express the my views and opinions as I see fit. And that's my stance.


So yeah, those are my views. I know some people may have differing ones and I'm fine with that. But I wanted to get this out there and explain the way I think about things and why I get so aggravated when people start to take offense at artists when something is not done to the specification that they would've liked.

Hey guys! Quick update before i head off to bed. ugh, finals week sucks majorly. Ya'll know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, so I know i'm not so awesome at keeping updates, but oh well? :p here's just a few things to keep yunz posted before I head out to classes for the day.

Other life updates... hmmm....

My mate and I will be celebrating our 19 month anniversary soon.. Not sure if you can call it an "anniversary" but oh well, we always do soemthing nice on the 14th of every month since we had out first date. He truly is the love of my life and I couldn't as for a more perfect man for me, because there ISN'T anyone more perfect than Dave. He is amazing. <3 <3 <3

hmm..

I won't be going to MFF this year :/ too much money, BUT I am saving up for FCN! I'm excited about that one! it'll be the perfect way to celebrate a week or two before finals week :p So I know it's early, but who all is going?!

I'll be posting on either furbuy or furbid Snowbound the Husky for sale. I DO love this suit, but i hardly wear her anymore, so I want her to go to a home that she'll get TONS of use! She features a moving jaw and is a full suit. Should fit someone up to 190 to 200 pounds or more, and about 5 feet, 10 inches? Well, it's 11:15 Halloween night. So far today I had to get up at 6:00AM to get over to the Natotorium to sit there in the highest stands to watch my sister swim for a total of MAYBE 3 minutes. I sat there for more than 4 hours.

It WAS nice to get to see my mother, father, aunt and uncle today though. I saw my sister some last night. but of course she abandoned me to hang out with her swim team friends and romp around State College all day.

Then I came back here after signing a lease for my apartment next year. Which we're not even guaranteed. We won't find out if we have lodging till January. What do I do?What if I don't get an apartment? We're all up a creek then... So yeah... I'm stressing about that majorly.

I then came back to my dorm and have been here ever since.

My mate is with his family in upstate PA this weekend. There is a Folk Festival in the town his aunt lives in. And he went up there Friday to spend time with all of them. I miss him so bad...

But Kotto!? Are you such a loser that you weren't invited to any halloween parties? You must be a BIG loser...

No, my dear friend. I WAS invited to many-a-Halloween party. But I am still sick. coughing my brains out, and sometimes a little bit of blood. Sweet joy is this fun! Not to mention that I have no way of getting to any of the parties. and don't feel liek tramping through town to get to one.

I got to hear about my friend's awesome days though. The Calgary furs had a day at the zoo. *iconMorg* suited for the first time today! So congrats to him. I'm sure it was a ton of fun.

The Bellefonte fur meet was a success at the PA Renaissance faire this morning. I'm sure fursuiting was fun there too. And fun was had by all furries today full of fursuits and drinking. Congrats everyone. No, I couldn't attend because I had to be at my sister's swim meet this morning. and no car, so i could not join the festivities later. FML

I sat here. On this very bed. watching Grey's Anatomy, Death Note the Live Action Movie and playing Secondlife. Pretending I had a REAL life.

Blah blah blah Kotto, complain complain complain. Yes... i WILL complain and have self pity for this one night. Halloween has always been one of my MOST favorite holidays. I LIVE for this one day. and this year... I don't get one. The fursuit sat in it's damn box. The new tail hung by my bed, and Kotto's sad head stared at me with sad eyes because she, too, had no day of fun.

Btu anyways. Halloween is one of my most FAVORITE times of the year! like OMG! Halloween kicks butt. And I normally suit around and just have TONS of fun with friends.

But this year I will be by myself. The other Penn State furs get to go have fun at the Renaissance faire with the other Bellefonte furs. Will I be going? No. I will be here. Because my parents and little sister are coming up here for a swim meet that is held at the Natotorium. So i will be spending the entire day with my parents, trying not to kill myself. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my little sister and my parents can be ok. But this is HALLOWEEN! COME ON!

I have to stay here with my parents and sit in an indoor swimming pool area being humid, hot and sticky. Watch my sister swim for 5 seconds and try to not think about what I could be doing on that day. My friends get to go have fun being furries and suit, then come back for a Halloween party. And my mate is going up-state to go to a Folk concert. But I, Lucky me, get to stay here. And rot. and have a normal weekend, when it shouldn't be a normal mundane one at ALL!

So Happy Halloween everyone. Have fun and have lots of tricks and treats. Because I won't be having ANY.
