Ray Rooney, sometimes also known by his artist's monniker RUNE', and one of the founders of the fandom we all know and enjoy is in some rather dire need of assistance. The house he lives in has been sold to developers, and he has been told to clear out so that it can be torn down and replaced with a trendy condo complex.

For those of you who don't know who he is, he ran what were known as Furry Parties, at the local science fiction convention PHILCON, in the Adam's Mark hotel in PA. These room parties acted as ground zero for a group of furs which grew year after year, until they became the founding core of the group that went on to populate and run ANTHROCON, in the same hotel.

So basically, ANTHROCON exists because of this guy.

One of his room parties was also where I discovered the fandom, way back in the late 80's. One of his posters was the first piece of true furry art I'd ever seen. I don't know if I'd even be here if not for him doing what he did.

So, throw him whatever you can afford, because really... you owe him.

We all do.

On a personal note, I'd've never met Cobalt if not for that room-party bringing him into the furry fandom and leading to Anthrocon being created - I wouldn't have met several former and current friends within the fandom if not for Ray's contribution to the earliest days of it. I've never met him myself, I literally never heard of him until a few days ago, but he has UNDENIABLY affected my social/artistic furry involvement, life and friendships. I absolutely threw a small chunk of money his way.

And if you can't donate, please spread the word. Maybe I'm not the first person to bring this to your attention, and that's good! Keep spreading the word; he's over halfway to his goal! As the saying goes; every little bit helps.

And so tomorrow, Friday, 15th June 2018 at 6PM EST tailsteak will be doing an Extra Life Charity Stream on his Twitch Channel ( http://www.twitch.tv/tailsteak ) featuring  mythicfables, Nickabocker and myself play-testing this ridiculousness.

Tailsteak is a great GM and he's shoulder tapped two great role-players and me to be his victims players - so it's almost guaranteed to be a funny and good time. The system will certainly be put to the test, as will our vague nostalgic memories of the 1980s Inspector Gadget cartoon.

What's your goal(s) for the con this year?

To crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

My Canadian friend  Caltroplay recently lost her home to sewage-water flooding and needs funds to replace and repair almost everything.

So, to help her out I will be bumping my prices up by $10 and dropping the single character restriction on Regular Digital Commissions (2 Character MAX), for this weekend's stream. Digital Sketch Commissions may have up to 3 characters. (The other Rules still apply: LINK)

Normally for this type of thing I would be "And the bulk of payments will be going to her!" but with Anthrocon (as an Attendee not a Dealer) and stuff coming up the split won't quite go that way, this time.

WHOOPS, seems I TOTALLY misremembered my travel/training course dates, SO, no commission streams for the next several weekends unless I can work something out while I'm away from my computer.

HOWEVER, if you don't feel like watching me draw your image, I figure I should just open for Digital Commissions in general and work on them on weekends or if I have free time in the evenings... I'll even allow up to 2 characters for the Regular Digital stuff... (Prices and Rules still apply *LINK*)... again, just lifting the 1 character limit on Regulars.

So, if anyone is interested in a digital commissions from me, fill in and post the Form into the COMMENTS and we'll see what gets worked out.: )

I will prefer to work on one or two commissions at a time and I likely will not ask for payment until I know I have a few hours to sit down and work. This is not 'first come, first serve', this will be more "What can handle in the span of a few hours."

Wing-Its and Simple Regulars will be more likely to be selected; but if interest goes above a certain number of customers/Forms I may throw names into the Random List Generator and select the first 5 and go from there. I'll try to work my way down the list until i am able to do Live Streams again.

A Wing-It is a special type of commission. All you give me is the character... I decide what to do with them! The only IMPORTANT information you need to specify is the character itself (ie; references images).

You can specify whether you want the picture to have nudity or not, and if the character has a specific attitude or an article of clothing they always wear, you can let me know that... but the specific details of how the character is posed and what they're doing are up to me! That's why wing-its are cheaper - you surrender control over what sort of picture it is, and I get to draw whatever I feel like.

I WILL try to get a feel for what you like by checking any online gallery you maintain, and asking a few questions about the character.

Wing-its require trust in me as an artist, and are not for everyone. If you have a specific idea, theme, fetish I am unaware of (or several but are in the mood for a specific one), or want to see a particular bit of anatomy, you should get a regular-priced commission instead.

A Wing-it interaction so go a little like this:
Me: Ok, which character will I be drawing for a wing-it and what level do you want?
Customer: My character Bonnie *supplies ref image(s), and I'd like a sketch.
Me: Excellent, here's the invoice... now do you want this to be clean or sexy?
Customer: Bonnie's a PG character!
Me: Ah ok.. does she like hamburgers?
Customer: No, she's vegan. Oh she always had her left leg in a cast.
Me: Good to know, I hope she likes salads!
Customer: She eats them, yeah.

A Wing it should not go like this:
Me: Ok, which character will I be drawing for a wing-it and what level do you want?
Customer: My character Clyde *supplies ref image(s), and I'd like a sketch.
Me: Excellent, here's the invoice... now do you want this to be clean or sexy?
Customer: He's a PG13 character, and he has military training so he'd be doing something related to that.
Me: ...Nnnnot a wing-it if you suggest an activity.
OR
Me: Ok, which character will I be drawing for a wing-it and what level do you want?
Customer: My character Swav *supplies ref image(s), and I'd like Inks. I think it'd be fun to see something where his Latin-romantic-side is popping up.
Me: Sorry that was too specific to be a wing-it even if I get to decide HOW he's expressing that.

So yeah, Wing-it's are a bit of a magical adventure the customer and artist take together; again if you have an activity you want to see your character doing, you might want to get a Regular Commission where you can Instruct me to draw that, even if your idea is loose.

Wing-it's are LITERALLY just you showing me which character you want drawn, and I try to figure out everything else. I will try to produce something I think you will like, but this is not guaranteed. A Wing-it is almost literally the transaction of "Here's my character, please draw whatever." and me going "Okay, let's see what happens!"
Again, I will try to make sure I don't draw the character behaving Out Of Character by asking a little more about them.

I laughed in spite of the news, because that is what he was good at, making people laugh, and I have no doubt he planned that years ago (and if not, then his daughter truly is a chip off the old block).

I am so glad for discovering his writing, and highly recommend all of it... granted the stuff around the 90s onwards was some of the best stuff. 'Good Omens' is a lot of damned fun, I've bought it more than once.

A little background; Longtail has been in the fandom a fairly long time.
You might've even encountered a few of the webcomics she has worked on:

She is a hard-working, funny, opinionated, intelligent and independent person who keeps bees, chickens and ducks, and has recently found herself in need of a highly trained Service Dog.

Longtail had a bad fall in 2012 and suffered a deceptively bad head injury. She now suffers memory lapses (including things like her own name, birthday, where she lives; etc),temporary bouts of blindness, sudden loss of balance and loss of situational awareness (almost stepping into traffic).

Her friends and family in the area have been a great help but Longtail doesn't want them to live two lives.

A Service Dog would greatly improve her independence and personal safety.

So if you can help this Fur regain some independence via helping afford a Service Dog, that would be greatly appreciated. If you can't afford to donate any money, perhaps post a signal boost yourself?

First of all, much thanks to  daemionfox and  darc, without whom I'd've not been able to attend  Furpocalypse.
So holy crap the weekend was pretty intense. Lets break it down.

Thursday:

Arrived, checked in (first time I've ever booked a room for myself too), caught up with the generous and awesome  baronvonjackal and  julysporkyfox. Fruit was exchanged and car adventures for Pumpkin Brews were had. Much delicious was shared! (Yay jelly drinks! Ramune! Jelly tubes!)
Managed to find  Keedot,and we got into the Pre-Reg/Dealer line for our badges... and if I haven't already said this, they're a totally awesome artist (also tiny and a sweety) and you should check them out. Thanks for being my table-friend! :D

I don't think anyone noticed I was dressed as the personification of a Pumpkin Spice Latte. CURSE MY LACK OF UGG BOOTS! That would've brought the whole thing together.

Friday:

GO TIME!
Except I was an hour late getting into the den because i accidentally grabbed the wrong shade of dark eye-shadow and had to start over... on the other hand I think the result was appropriately Halloweeny, so worth it.... thoguh I'm sorry to everyone I kept waiting!
Got a bushel of commissions, which i took longer to finish than planned. Many many thanks to  spotweld and  tabbiewolf for supplying me with a huge box of inspiration which I'm nowhere near emptying. XD
The Newcastle Werewolf Ale was a nifty drink, saving the rest to share with some friends over Christmas or New Years.: U
After many hours I managed to finally say hello to  gideon, who was on the other side of me the entire time.XD
There was a  maxblackrabbit shaped hole throughout the entire convention though; we missed you Max!
I believe this was the day i bought some stuff from the Dealer behind me, whose name I can't recall and who i kept forgetting because they changed shirts and had a hat at one point, i think. I am sorry I am bad at remembering faces. D8
 Maverikat dropped by to give me 2 artists worth of commissions; thanks man! I'll... finish them as quickly as I can.<X D
Did my ritual of running over to  hopefulmonsterstudios and  sciggles table to see if new wyrms were out. I pretty much did all my Christmas Shopping at their table over the weekend. ^.^;
I also picked up the adorable Leafcrawler-mini I won on the Wyrm Forum. He kept my neck nice and warm. ^.^
The Sponsor/Dealer/Staff buffet was excellent and i do believe I ended up sitting witht he majority of asians (and half asians) at the convention. XD
Apparently we just have a natural instinct to congregate.
Struggled with some inking. I guess the image I was working on was more detailed than I wanted to acknowledge.<X P
I defeated it eventually.
The day was crazy busy, whew.
Special thanks to baronvonjackal and julysporkyfox for helping me with a Pharmacy run, twice! And another Pumpkin Brew pickup, because i wanted to grab something I forgot the previous run.
I like to think my attempts at dressing like some kind of witch or overachieving never-been-a-goth-before was successful. Even if i was terrified of trying to cross the road while dressed almost completely in black, after sunset. o.o;;

Saturday:

I made it on time! And then had to turn around and walk right back out because the Fire Alarm went off and I was not dressed as warm as i could've been (Thursday was deceptively warm). Sounds like there has been a bit if grease-smoke in the kitchen and it was sorted out nice and quickly AND the Den was scheduled an extra hour, which was awesome.
Received more commissions from awesome folks, I even finished a bunch of Express ones, which I forgot to take pictures of, it seems. Whoops. Hope some of y'all can send me photos or scans!: )
Art continued to go really slow, and I have no idea why.

Completely botched my Fake-Geek-Girl costume tho. Kept forgetting to be egregiously unpop-culture savvy. I had a whole bunch of misquotes and mix-ups planned too!

Sunday:

Nuuu, the final day of the convention! Checked out nice and early and hauled all my stuff to the Dealer's Dungeon.

And I'll admit Sunday was kind of a blur, I was way more scatter-brained than I'd've liked. I know I ended up not finishing a lot of things like I planned, even some express stuff, and I'm sorry about that. Been juggling convention homework with other stuff i owed, but I'm getting stuff done steadily, i like to think.

Keedot's candy bowl was finally emptied, my phone inexplicably stopped making noises for several hours despite being fully charged and at full volume. It started to work again when it really mattered.

My costume for the day was "Professional Adult". Almost nailed it. Almost.

But yes, all in all Furpocalypse was a lot of fun and I'm sure I'm leaving out the actual fun parts and missing naming several names; but everyone who stopped by the table, commissioned, chatted or took a business card, +Watched me on FA or Twitter, etc etc, thank you so much, you helped make the convention great! (I'd love to go again next year if my situation and schedule allows it!)

Will be bringing some fo the cleaner commissions with me when i go to visit my mum for 2 weeks, tomorrow. Got a long international flight so maybe I can work on some stuff then too.

I'll be uploading more convention related art when i get back, so, see y'all in a little over 2 weeks!
