I can't believe they've done this

so after some thinking, december came, I'm done with my studies and I can chill and spend much more time doing commissions and requests and stuff
I've passed my university semester, yayyy :D, and I'm free for whatever till march AFAIK, so I should be a LOT more active, I HOPE, there's been a lot of blackouts in my municipality and I'd guess it's just the infrastructure being too old and it's getting some fixing and upgrade, but I can make the counterargument that I'm barely younger than the grid and other zones are not getting this kind of problems as often AND we had frequent blackouts from february to march of this same year, some bad actors is most likely to be the answer
it's weird

anyway, I've started many coding projects and finished none of them, so now it's time to get back on track and do something about them dammit
but maybe I could start a new one because the current ones are just too broken for me to care and spend a week or so fixing bugs instead of doing everything from the ground up with an over all better design, the more I fail the more I learn i guess

they do be going up in price, I said that in my last journal so read up guys

for an actual drawing taking my sketch price ($5) as my pivot, then the new prices next year would be:
sketches keep their price
inking+color $13 -> $16
hard shading $17 -> $21
soft shading $20 -> $25
for them backgrounds
abstract ones $5 -> $7
detailed ones $10 -> $13
they'll be effective since the start of the new year, no hurries, except for me cuz I have LOTS of projects I gotta finish first before xmas aaaa D:
because of that it's unlikely I'll be taking commissions or finishing them before new year, however, if I do accept it, I'll be respecting the old price regardless of when I finish it

who the fuck streams at 2 am in a saturday... sunday?

it's been mostly calm and uneventful, time taken to make commissions is very limited but can manage to do something every day... some days

I've been doing rather okay, right now I woke up feeling grumpier and more short fused than usual but it happens once every couple months, by tomorrow I'll be doing much better
thinking about my dream goal, making a, to my eyes, successful game completely by my own has made me realize that I'm investing too much time drawing in an hedonistic downpour, at least it was now when I have plenty of time and energy compared to the future
I wanna focus more on that, I have a vague idea of what I want, more than anything I wanna give some lore to my main characters Kvolik, Zolotoy and Misha, where each of them represents a trait, impulsiveness, self-indulgence and hedonism, and I'll be making a story with that

for my art... I'll be slowing down, reason given above, until now I've been doing a drawing per day or close to that, I know I don't post here often, you'll see them in my public server, but just know that I draw a LOT
I really wanna do that

economically I've been doing very good, commissions have been flowing slowly, doesn't rain but it drips and that's enough for me, so far there's only one commission I've refused to do when I noticed I was actively procrastinating just so I wouldn't have to deal with it, cumflation and penises will go to the blacklist i guess
I've received some comments that my prices are very low for my quality, and I'm considering rising them, I'll see how I'll do it and when finally decide to do it you'll know the new prices, and they'll become effective next month

for the most part I've been busy with university stuff, I've been doing well in my classes and while I'm not urged to save a subject it's taking a LOT of time and dedication to study, sadly this is reflected in my hobbies as the time used to study increases and becomes a necessity to lend more and more resources, this is my first year so things will be rough, as I understand more what I'm doing I hope everything will become easier, it'll still be hard to work on anything during this time

in terms of drawings, I'm mostly doing sketches because they're
- easy
- fast
- I don't have that good of an attention span saying that after spending 3-4 hours drawing on a stream lmao
I like getting quick results even if they're fairly low effort, I understand the tradeoff, but I'm also having some stuff in the slow cooker here, high effort drawings getting done slowly but surely
I should get some commissions and art trades done shortly, hopefully within this week, I keep a list of them in a note in my pc so I can check on them when I have some free time, this is where I appreciate the fact FA doesn't let people change their username cuz I can refer to them by it and easily contact them when I start their comm :D unlike discord where I HAVE to either keep their chat open, keep some messages in unread or refer to them by their profile ID instead, each having their own issues (cannot talk with other people, new messages will not be read and character refs sent would be harder to look up, respectively)
if you want me to say something about requests, I keep some in the previously mentioned list but I mostly do em if people ask during a stream

for the coming month, september, there's the national independence day in Chile, it's immediately a week off the calendar, for me it's likely I'd be unreachable for 1-2 days and my teachers have this month PACKED with homework and quizzes and tests and all that fun stuff

I owe an update on what's going on in my life a bit, I'm not really that open but some people that I don't talk often with may be wondering why I seemingly don't draw as often, it's really just a single reason and I'm sorry for not announcing this before

University

yes, again in an university trying to get a cardboard rectangle
I applied for an enrollment in an state university, had to do a series of tests and interviews and passed all of them, got matriculated and at the time of writing this (august 12) it's my 2nd week in, I'm doing well in classes, I'm giving them FAR more priority than anything in my TODO list
problem arises because my schedule changes week to week, reason being it's not a university per se, it's a meteorology station with a uni side-quest and my professors are workers and may go on commission and be gone for a while, and we have to make do, sometimes having to attend on saturdays
I don't believe it'll completely hinder my ability to draw or have leisure time whatsoever
I'm betting that I'll have time to draw and keep doing pending commissions and trades, it'll probably be at a slower pace if I'm not feeling like drawing and start giving several wips or even the finished piece in a single day lmao

commissions will still be queued and paid before I deliver the finished piece
art trades will also be queued but I'll be far more open to them
requests will open once again, but truth be told I never closed them

I'll no longer have them open, anything that I've been asked to do before today (or rather, yesterday, when I actually started rejecting them) will still be in my to-do list, if I ever feel like doing it
reasoning is I get asked a lot and it's not contributing towards paying rent (or anything that'll guarantee subsistence in a modern society) at all and that's pretty much a mandatory expense before I actually start making profit

I started also paying rent to my parents, because at 23 I should already move out and it's only FAIR, SADLY the price of rent anywhere else is way too high and I don't make enough money yet to really afford it as much as I want to, right now I'm a full time commission artist so there's that, it's fun, though, I'm cool with it
I also found a little social media called Tails Club, found it while trying to read a cool comic called little tails club
fun story, I'm still chronically online, don't worry about my health, so long I'm online I'm fine
back from the tangent, it's cozy, it's fine, the community is small but warm and the interface is C L E A N, it's in open beta, has little to no ads (mostly its own kofi page, go support them :D) and it's managed by a single furry guy, the mascot is also very cute <3
