Google Wallet, Alertpay, Or Paypal?
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone, so over the course of many years of accepting commissions, I've always primarily accepted Paypal only for online transactions. As you know, times change, and options expand. Many people refuse, or can't, use Paypal. Either because they don't trust the site, or they've been barred from its use.
This has resulted in a loss of clientele here and there. And I've been wondering if opening accounts with Google Wallet and/or Alertpay would be worth my time.
Do you have experience with these? What are your opinions? Better, worse, or the same as Paypal?
Thanks for the feedback!

Commissions Open! Need Income Until I Find A Job!
Posted 10 years agoI'm moved in and settled in Arkansas, and could really use some commissions to get some income until I find a job up here!
I have a job interview at a bank that contacted me on Friday, so we'll see how that goes, but just in case I'd like some extra cash rolling in.
Any rating, any type, any characters, reasonable prices!
Comment or note me for details!
$0/$100 for the week!

You Know What Really Rastles My Jimbobs?
Posted 10 years agoThese fucking kids that just post and use art without crediting it whatsoever.
Listen, I don't care if you're not claiming it, or said you drew it, it may not be blatant theft but it's still 100000% disrespectful to the creator to just use something they made without even giving them credit.
Personally, I wouldn't want any of my art used as profile pics or for RP, clean or not, even if I was credited. But at least if you credit the artist, I can't entirely get that mad at you.
And you know where this happens most? Facebook. You get these horny 13 year olds posting characters and art that doesn't belong to them and trying to initiate cyber sex.
You know what one of these little cretins had the nerve to say to me?
"If ppl want to know who made it they can google it"
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME.
IRONIC AIN'T IT.
And you can be as polite as can be to these people when asking them to at least credit the artist if not take it down. And they have the balls to fly off the handle at you like you're the bad guy.
I've stopped being nice, honestly.
I'm not mad, per se. This isn't something serious enough to actually effect my emotions. But it sure is fucking sad.

Settled In My New Home In Arkansas
Posted 10 years agoHey everybody! Just wanted to check in that we made it safe and sound to Leachville, Arkansas. We'll be living down here for a while!
It was a 14 hour trip that we split into 2 days, overnighting in Kentucky.
Thanks everyone for their help and support throughout the move. As expected, I probably won't find a job for a little bit, so I am taking commissions to keep us afloat for our first month.
Comment or note if you're interested!

Officially Unemployed
Posted 10 years agoWhelp, that's it. The doors are closing on "Markheim Pets". They had a good 35 year run. I had a good run there, too.
I loved my job. I loved caring for animals, I loved selling these animals to wonderful homes with wonderful people. I loved caring for the animals when they were sick or hurt, I loved everything about this job.
It saddens me to lose my job, and saddens me more to see this shop go out of business. No other pet store does it like Markheim did, every employee cared and were passionate about the animals, they knew how to do things right.
Now we're stuck with shit chain stores that care more about profit, than the animals or people.
RIP Markheim Pets. You will be missed.
RIP paycheck, you're already missed

$50 Away!
Posted 10 years agoOnly $50 away from my goal of $300 to fix up my car for our move out of state!
Thank you so much everyone for your support, business, and signal-boosting!
I'd like to exceed that number to go towards our move! Thank you in advance for your continued support!

Your Opinion Is Needed! - Commissions vs. Personal Art
Posted 10 years agoI've been curious what the majority of fandom members think of this.
Do you think it's wrong, or maybe just irresponsible, for an artist to work on personal art along with commissions? Do you feel like they should work on nothing but commissions until they're finished, then personal art?
Tell me what you think!
Edit: I do not think it's wrong or irresponsible to work on personal art and commissions at once, so long as the artist is not putting off commissions too much and everyone is happy with their turn-around.
~ALMOST THEEERE THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Posted 10 years agoI'm at $232/$300 for my car wheel bearings! Thank you guys so much for commissioning and signal-boosting me!
As it stands right now, with what I have, I can get it done when I get my paycheck this week! But if I can make it to $300 or more, it would help me tremendously!
Any extra will go to the chance of it costing a bit more than quoted, or our moving expenses!
Your continued support is much appreciated!

$207/$300 - ALMOST THERE! [Car Wheel Bearings]
Posted 10 years agoAlmost have enough saved to get my wheel bearings on my truck done! Just under $100 to go!
Still taking commissions to close that gap!

Commissions For Vehicle Wheel Bearings: $140/$300
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone!
I just wanted to announce that my commissions are open and will be primarily going to replacing the wheel bearings on my vehicle! She probably won't make it to Arkansas with the ones she has now!
If I can raise $300, I can use some of my next paycheck and get it done!
I need it done by June 11th, which is when we're leaving!
Thanks guys!
~Arkansas Or Bust
Posted 10 years agoSo, everything is coming to a head here in NY living with my mom. Her room mate (owner of the house and father of my two youngest siblings) is constantly doing shit that screws us so he has a reason to kick us out.
Recently he caused my fiancee to lose his job. The car was wrecked and he promised to fix it within 3 weeks, and my fiancee told his job that. Well it took 3 months, to do work that took 2 days once he actually did it. We paid him $700 to fix the car in the time alotted, and because it took way longer than he promised his job, he was terminated. So now we're being threatened to be thrown out over him not having a job.
And soon I will no longer have a job, because the pet shop I work for is going out of business. So he'll probably really start threatening us because we'll both be unemployed.
So my fiancee's parents offered us to come down there to stay with them for a while. I have no idea if they'll charge us rent, but that isn't an issue. We won't be in a dangerous neighborhood littered with drugs and gangs, things are cheaper in the south, better job opportunities, or even odd jobs, no more toxicity, decent meals, I could go on.
Only issue is, no animals. So I have to re-home my rats, my betta, and my fiancee will be giving the snake to someone to watch for a while.
My cat however is coming. He's too old to re-home.
Wish me luck guys.
~May Update - Commissions | Unemployed | Redwall | Moving |
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone! Welcome to May! It's finally Spring here in the frozen tundra that is Buffalo, and the temperatures are finally rising. So here's my update!
Commissions are fully open, any rating is permitted. Feel free to drop me a note if you want to claim a slot.
Visit my website for full samples, prices, and details. http://chaosdingocreations.webs.com/
As some of you read in my previous journal, I'll soon be unemployed. I worked for a wonderful pet shop maintaining and keeping Reptiles for quite a while. I learned and grew a lot working in that industry, and I've become a dedicated HERP activist. It's really made me realize I have a new goal and dream in life: I want to run an animal rescue. For tropical and small animals. Perhaps one day...
The Redwall Villains Challenge is slowly under way. I've completed my second entry, The Urgan Nagru. You can see him in my Gallery!
I hope to finish this project, between commissions, by the end of this year. For more details, see this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6677143/
Our move to SC may be sooner than expected. Along with losing my job, we are being pressed to get out of our current residence. All over nothing more than we don't get along. Which I get...but this really isn't the time. But whatever. We'll figure it out.
Between needing to fix the car up to make the drive, and the trip itself, we'll probably need about $4k. So between his new job, my unemployment and commission money, hopefully we'll be able to save up something like that. Or as much as we can.
That's all for my May update, thanks for reading!
~Whelp, About To Be Jobless
Posted 10 years agoSeeing as no one local that I wouldn't trust not to spread this even really watches me on here, I guess I can rant about it here.
The pet store I work for keeping reptiles is going out of business. Probably within a couple months or less. Which is perfect timing because my mother's room mate, who owns the house we're in, is pressing us to get out.
My fiancee hasn't worked in almost 3 months because his work car got wrecked in an ice storm, he was quoted to have it back on the road in 3 weeks, and it took 3 months, so his job terminated him for taking too long. So unless he gets a call-back from one of the many jobs he's applied for soon, we'll both be funemployed.
I'm hoping we can move to SC soon with our friend. I'll just collect unemployment and try to use what I get from that to make the drive down. Don't have much of a choice.
Everything is spiraling out of control and I literally have $12 to my name until Thursday. FML.

Posted 10 years agoFNAF 4????????
Posted 10 years agoSo apparently another Five Nights A Freddy's is under way???
Here's a screen shot from Scott's official website: http://i.imgur.com/tD9tVqc.jpg (The website isn't working, currently).
Could this game possibly tie in with the supposed movie?
Either way, I really hope it's not crap. You know how people over-do games and the last few will be crap. I sort of wish they left it ended at 3. But who knows, maybe it'll be just as good.

Updates | My Thoughts on FA Beta v2
Posted 10 years agoMy acid reflux has been acting up pretty bad, so I've been sick lately. My plans are to finish the commission WIP in my gallery and maybe bang out another "Redwall Villains Challenge" this week as well.
So, another change to the UI. Well I have to say I'm not a fan of the profile picture being crammed in the profile, and the text sort of...wrapping around it? It looked really stupid, so I changed my profile AGAIN lol.
I also miss the featured submission...the option is still there??? But it's not on the page at all. I also preferred my stats at the top of the page.
Other than that, I do really like the message bar, it looks a lot nicer smaller and at the very top.

Redwall Villains Challenge - Up Next: The Urgan Nagru
Posted 10 years agoI've been just randomly picking which characters to do next, I'm definitely NOT doing them in any particular order.
And my next choice is The Urgan Nagru from The Bellmaker.
This one is going to be a unique challenge, for those unfamiliar with Redwall, or this character, he is a fox who found a deceased wolf in the mountains. Seizing an opportunity, he skinned the wolf and wears his pelt, claiming that he slayed the wolf himself. Apparently killing a wolf is a big deal in the Redwall universe, especially for a fox.
His rendition has been done differently a few times. In the US novel and most others, the wolf's skin is only his pelt and paws, with a skull, however in the French edition of the novel, he is featured with the skin and face retained on the wolf's head. And it is never really specified in the book.
My intention is to do the version with the skull, as I feel that will be more challenging for me. Look for it in my Gallery soon!

"Redwall Villains Challenge" - Project List
Posted 10 years agoWell here it is, the final list of villains I will be covering in my new personal project, "The Redwall Villains Challenge". Last week I asked you guys to suggest some Redwall villains from any book, of any significance, for me to cover in this challenge, and I got some great responses and suggestions! So here is the list. Some have multiple characters, others a single character. I will be doing this project at my leisure, between commissions.
Redwall - Cluny The Scourge
Mossflower - Fortunata
Mattimeo - Slagar The Cruel, Vitch
Mariel of Redwall - Greypatch
Salamandastron - Ferahgo The Assassin, Farran The Poisoner
Martin The Warrior - Badrang, Skalrag
The Bellmaker - Urgan Nagru DONE
Outcast of Redwall - Veil Sixclaw
Pearls of Lutra - Ublaz Madeyes, Rasconza
The Long Patrol - Damug Warfang
Marlfox - Mokkan
Legend of Luke - Bullflay, Sholabar
Lord Brocktree - Groddil
Taggerung - Ruggan Bor, Sawney Rath
Triss - Plugg Firetail DONE
Loamhedge - Redd/Badredd
Rakkety Tam - Squirrelking Araltum
High Rhulain - Riggu Felis
I know that isn't all the books, but I haven't read the last few. I don't want to spoil anything for myself.
I look forward to doing these and I can't wait to see what you guys think!

Any Redwall Fans In My Watchers???
Posted 10 years agoIf so, definitely continue reading!
I'm planning a new project called "The Redwall Villains Challenge", where I plan to draw one villain from each book, in no particular order, and I need your ideas! Starting with Plugg Firetail, if you look at my WIP in my Gallery.
Bear in mind, that they do not need to be a main antagonist, or even a major character. As long as they're a character who had some sort of significant role.
If you wish to contribute, just give me the name of the villain, and the book they're from. And it doesn't matter if someone already names a character from a certain book already, you can name more!
Be advised, I have not read the last two novels, so I will not be too familiar with characters from them, and please do not post spoilers from them either!
I will post a follow-up journal once I have all my approved ideas and make a list!
