If anyone's worried, I'm not dead. I just... disappeared from the furry side for a while.

Long story short: Things happened, I was into ponies for a year, could only draw ponies. This march I joined the Lorax fandom, re-learned how to draw humans.

And now I'm making an effort to re-learn to draw anthros.

But I'm seeing if I can reclaim some of my older styles, revamp them, broaden my horizons a little.

Also I spend most of my time on Tumblr http://kudalyn.tumblr.com/, now. It's my main site, and I have a strongly settled blog there with all my current art, even stuff that I will never show elsewhere.

That said, this account is now obsolete. I have not updated here, nor do I feel the need to continue doing so. My art has changed, I have changed, and thus comes a new start.

I will link my new account, which I have made under my essentially universal username  kudalyn which I would prefer to be called by from now on. I have decided Kyuushi is a name reserved for one person and one person only to call me by. It is special, and please respect my wishes and do not call me by Kyuu anymore.

Also this account... it might not be so extremely active as my blog is. I am still working on my style and anatomy, so it will be a while before I am completely comfortable with drawing anthros. So bear with me, updates will be slow.

Also: to whom I owe commissions: I know who you are, I have never forgotten. I am exceedingly grateful to you for being so patient, and I shall finish your commissions when I am comfortable that I will be able to deliver something to you of quality. What I have right now... isn't quality enough.

Now that that's over.
Things have been normal/boring.
Money issues as usual.
Job hasn't been too harrowing besides the fact I always take other people's shifts, and the fact that I've had one 'verbal warning' on the fact it sometimes takes me half an hour to 45 minutes over my scheduled shift time to finish stuff. Not my fault if there's lots of naggy customers or people on the shift before me don't do their jobs properly and leave me to clean up the mess.
Working on cramming 5-6 hour jobs into a 4-hour shift. Managed to get out on time tonite.

Drawing/Wowing/trying not to go INSANE because two of my most beloved persons are leaving to go to school and I'm not AND IT'S KILLING ME I WANT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL FUCK

I've also been working on commissions - ponies and furry. Fun, but time consuming.

Also been workin alot on canterlot.com - the MLP:FiM forum I frequent.
I'm on the helpstaff and we've been working on alot of stuff to make the site better, so I've been busy helping out there too. (Please check it out if you're into FiM - it's really a great place!)

Also worrying about spending time with Mi and others before they leave.

but YAY good news - mom found the good camera finally, and as soon as I get a few hours to myself when I'm not tired from work I plan on taking pictures, baking them, and taking pictures again of my sculptures! Since I have the camera now I plan on starting making more sculptures. Cause I love doing that.

Hey Y'all!

Now, if you've been reading my journals, you know that I've been stuck at my parents house, working at a job to help pey off my student loan if I want to go back to school one day.

WELL.
My good friend -loveless- will be attending Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, the school I want to go to as well, this September. Thing is... she very recently got booted out of her previous housing accommodations by her older sister :/

So, she and I have been frantically looking for a place for us to stay. Why us? Well, we're best friends, and I'm jumping at the opportunity to live outside of my house. And, being close to the school I want to go to, I'd be able to get used to the area and maybe even make a good impression on the school.

So we've been looking for a place to stay. We'd prefer a place that's like a small basement apartment that is very close to the school. Also the place I'm hoping to work (transferring to another sobeys) Is near the school, so a place to live inbetween there would be good too.

We have found a few golden places - one perfect place sadly only has one room available. but another very close by house is our other top pick.
Amazing location, perfect little space with two rooms and a small kitchen.

My mom has NO problem at all with me living with my friend whatsoever. Her only apprehension is the money issue...

See, the rent for this place is 425-475 a month. I'm not sure if it's per room or for the whole thing - I've emailed the landlord now and I am currently waiting a reply on that. Also waiting for if this place requires a first-and-last payment.

Even if I get a full time job while working there (or two part-time jobs) then money would still be tight. My mom expects me to be paying off my student line of credit at the same time as paying rent... and then I'd still need money for food and who knows what.


SO.


Money.


I REALLY want to live with my good friend. She is my bestest friend, and she is very nervous about living on her own/sharing with strangers. And this house I'm desperately wishing to get cause the rent is the lowest I've seen yet.

So I NEED MONEY. Need it before the end of August at the very least! (unless the landlord says something different) I am currently backed up with full color commissions - so I won't be taking any of those. Any other commission is open however! Those will take less time to complete and I will be able to get them to the buyer more quickly than my full color commissions.

And my PONY commissions are fully open too! I can get those done fast and well, and they are a blast to draw.

So I'm begging you, PLEASE at the very LEAST pass the word on! I'm tired of living at home and I really REALLY want to be able to move out, even if that means being very slow on paying off my student loan.

... PLEASE.

I always draw for others. But I rarely get art back. I know that's usually the pine of an artist, but lately I've had NO luck with freebies or kiribans. And I don't have enough of a fanbase (like... none at all.) for any giftart.

I know this is conceited and greedy of me, but lately I've just had this NEED to see myself drawn by others. So see what I look like in their style.

Not just me, but Mi too. My lover has hardly any art for him, and that IS mainly my fault but...

Been working on ref sheets for myself and Mi. I'm working with him to redo his markings - something that flows better and suits him more. Got some ideas that he likes down, now I just have to meld them.

I dunno why I have this urge. Hell, I'd even love MLP art of my ponies! I have a bunch of OCs, but Aqua is my fave.

I guess this is a result of having very... quiet... watchers. Who RARELY comment and only fave on the best of days.

Just busy! Like I said, got a part-time job, so tired from that. The commissions I've been working on are challenging and complex so they're hard to do, but fun.
ALSO a week or so ago I got promoted to Helpstaff on a Pony forum I frequent, so between IRL job, furry commissions, pony commissions, Helpstaff duties and RP threads, I've been busy!

Not complaining tho! Well, a bit tired and slightly strung out, but happy XD been nice and busy and involved with stuff for once!

SO yeah still checking stuff daily! I AM WORKING ON STUFF I SWEAR! The doodles and gift art I post are inbetweeners that help me keep my juices flowing and stress levels down, that's why it's mostly been those and not other stuff.

I should take a video of him someday. He kinda wakes up, rolls over, falls asleep. Wakes up again, I tease him a little bit, end up cuddling up with him again, he falls asleep. Rinse and repeat about a dozen times, intercepted with eye rubbings, mews and more adorableness <3

He looks like a caterpillar when he's trying to wake up. He just rolls up in my blankets like a big sausage >w<

Sorry guys, that was a dick move, but I had to do that to get attention.

Lately my journals have been getting less and less and less comments... I understand that my watchers have irl issues and such just like me, but it feels like I have little to no support from my watcher base.

Out of the 425 watchers I have, (which is an amazing amount of watchers to me) Only about 15 at the MOST comment AT ALL.

That is rather depressing.

I thrive off of my comments and feedback. It shows me that people are actually enjoying my artwork enough to leave a comment. Sure, I like when my art gets favorited, but when you get one comment for every 20 or so faves....


I have had a tough time with luck lately, and if you read my journals you would know what has happened. But I have gotten very few comments on those journals, and the only comments are from those who are the only active watchers/friends I have.

I LOVE SUPPORT AND FEEDBACK! HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO SAY IT?!
Even just a small damn "This is neat!" every once and a while!


Also, I know the only way to get lots of watchers and views is to draw pron.... and while I am still drawing pron, it isn't nearly as much as it used to be. I just don't have a real need to draw it lately. And when I draw something that isn't pron, that I worked hard on and really enjoy.... next to no comments.

That is a real blow to my artist's pride, man.


And TO MY COMMISSIONERS:
I am very sorry the commissions are taking so long. Some of the ones I have taken, I want to finish them well and to the best of my abilities. Because of my life situation, I don't get much drawing time.
I AM WORKING ON THEM! I just don't want to send out a half-assed piece of work.... if you look at my other finished commissions, you can see that even though I took a long time to finish them, they were done to the best of my ability to ensure the commissioner was completely satisfied with the end result. That is my work ethic.

No, this is not about that goddamn Rapture. It's an awesome day for the end of the world however. Birds are singing, bright blue sky, lots of sun. <3

ANYWAYS. I will be outlining this journal in the good/bad of what has happened to me over the past few days. Good=orange, Bad=green.

So, A few days ago I was worrying about the upcoming SLC minimal payment duedate. I didn't want it to come from my dads pocket, but I wanted money for Anime North.... my mom and I go to check the mail, and there is a cheque from the government for me for 65$.
SO, I give that, plus a little extra, to my dad. I now had enough to pay him, and get to pay for a bit of AN myself.

Turns out that they STILL reach into my dads pocket no matter if I pay the minimum payment - Apparently we need to get the debt under 14k in order for it to stop taking money without permission. We are currently at 14,885$. Fuck.

I had also been planning on giving my dad the money in the hopes it would also pay off my debt to him for my beloved Ipod - 3-4 years ago I had my Ipod Nano 4th Gen taken from me under... extrenuating circumstances. I wasn't able to get it back until I gave him 140$. Now, I have very limited money, specially back then. So, Last month I gave him 100 from my paycheck (when i had one) and now, 80$ to pay off the rest with extra.

According to dad.... paying off the minimal payment/interest did NOT go towards my Ipod payment... just the extra 30 I had given him for... well, extra. So, no Ipod. I stormed off, because he had NOT lined that out for me and I got my hopes up for nothing.

Turns out my dad can be nice... a few hours after I stormed off, he went and got my Ipod and gave it back. He kept saying it wasn't fair, but hell. I haven't had my ipod in 4 years. I think it's pretty damn fair.
SO, Ipod back. Now, my ipod is one of the few items I had managed to keep in near-mint condition. I went and got a case with screen protection as soon as I had gotten it for christmas a few years ago, and was super careful with it.

Turns out dad had been keeping it in his GARAGE... in a box with a mess of other gadget wires.
Our garage... isnt the best insulated.
Take 3+ years of not being used, plus SCORCHING SUMMERS and FREEZING WINTERS... the battery on my ipod will NOT hold a charge. WILL. NOT.
It's fine once I reboot it and plug it in to any socket or computer. (Takes a little fanagling, but thats cause it has no power.) It plays perfectly plugged in. But thats not the point of an ipod, now is it?

Also been looking at how to replace an Ipod battery, cause I found one and a repair kit for cheeepycheap on ebay... and it's ridiculously difficult and finky.
ALSO to send my ipod back to Apple to get it repaired, and since is is WAY not under warranty, it would cost me $60 bucks to get it fixed, plus probably like a month before I got it back.
$60 is all I have to go to AN.

Godamnit.

Whelp. No job still but no yelling, so things are being a bit better.

Lately I've been interested in different types of art, like sculpting, charm making, and even needlefelt.

Before I learned I could draw, I used to be really into sculpting. Like, really into it.
I even once made a whole octopus, complete with jewels and treasure chest that was a big as both of my palms. I never baked it unfortunately. It sat on top of my family's tv for so long it baked into the plastic of the tv from the heat, and you can still see the indentations in the plastic to this day XD

I've also been looking at adorable little charms like  sweetie's, and others. I love how they look, and I'm tempted to try making little bottle charms myself.

I also just discovered  dartjunkie's wonderful little wyrmlings and the sort. I just ADORE how they look. (Iwantoneiwantoneiwantthreedozen) I'm not sure I'd be able to get into sewing just yet, but I love how the sculpey heads look with the rest of the body... like on the  falvie sculpture  waffelle created. She used Needlefelt to create the rest of the body however.

Which led me to thinking about needlefelt. I had seen it before and always been amazed at it, but had no idea how to make it. I looked up how-to today, and I am thorougly impressed and enthused!

Now, I won't be able to play around with anything of these until I get a ffffffffffffffffffing job. BUT I look forward to playing around with these! I have always enjoyed sculpture, and seeing it in different forms only makes me happier.

Anyways.
Put out a few resumes - one is for a night shift at a close-by grocery store. I'm not too keen on the night shift thing, but it's a job. Haven't even bothered calling in to the shoe store.
Hopefully I'll hear by Monday about a interview from the grocery store.


Also, I've done a bit more research, and I discovered a few days ago a really neat, powerful little pen tablet. It works like a full sized computer, only tiny and more portable! Which is what I had my eye on in the first place.

It's called the Mobile LE1600, and there's a smaller version of it called the LS800.  latinvixen used to have one, and she's been testing various portable pen tablets lately, and the LS800 is still her favourite.

I want something a bit bigger, so that's why I'm going for the LS1600. Their a few years old, but they can run Windows Vista and 7 as an upgrade from the initial XP.
They also come with little clip-in holsters with keyboard for your desk.
And since their older, their alot cheaper than the HP Touchsmart!

I've found that alot of them online go for $300 or so dollars, which is right in my market, and is a steal. The most I'd pay for one is $400.

I am still taking commissions for my Student Line of Credit, and for the entrance fee to AN. Once all that is done however, I will be saving up for the pen tablet.

So, in this order.

Student Line of Credit: Due May 24.

Anime North Entrance Fee: Using on May 28.

Hopefully, if I get a job, all of this will be much easier.

I am trying to teach myself to be a bit more disciplined and realistic with money, which is why I'm doing it this way.

And while I am still down, I'm alot better than last evening.

I want to thank all my friends for supporting me, and for my good acquaintances here on FA for commissioning me and supporting me! I really appreciate it, and I am extremely grateful to know there are at least a few people out there looking out for me.

Also, I do look forward to working on the commissions I got last night. While I do tend to take forever on my commissions, I do not take them lightly. I have redone an entire commission before because I did not want the commission-ee to get a crappy end result - that just isn't professional.
And often, the redone version comes out a thousand times better.

I also take my time because I have not yet learned how to finish a commission in one day...like many high-end artists. Plus, my living circumstances do not allow me to have that luxury. And I find if I take my time and enjoy the image, making sure to pay attention to details and put my love and effort into the drawing, both myself and the commissioner like the turnout in the end much better.

Now. I think so far I have acquired enough funds to pay off at least the tax on the student line of credit... I got the bill in the mail yesterday and it was $74... due the 24th, 3 days before Mi_ and I plan on going to AN. (Saturday May 28th)

SO, I will still be taking on commissions to try and gain enough funds to at the least cover my entrance fee to AN... while I'm not completely sure I'll be able to go thanks to my forgetful parents plans..
(It's May 2/4 that weekend and my parents made plans despite me telling them 2 weeks ago about AN)
...I can still hope. AN is really important to me because
A: I've never gone. I've gone to FanExpo on my own... and that wasn't the best first con experience.
B: I hope to meet a friend I haven't seen irl before there. He's been my online friend for a few years now and he's really important to me. He lives 6+ hours away. and right now I just can't see him outside of his usual trips like AN.

SO. I will keep you guys updated, the few that take the time to read my measly little journals >w<
