Posted 13 years agoHaven't updated here in a little while so I thought it was due time.
My original costume idea for Halloween fell through, so I'm altering it slightly to make it easier (mainly cheaper) for me to plan out. Instead of doing Rabbit (from SPG) I'll be doing Fem Rabbit. I have the costume idea planned out, all I'll have to do is get the remaining parts. It's not my original idea but I think it's going to be awesome still.
I haven't been doing much art because between work, singing, and learning bass guitar I really have no time for anything. If I'm not bagged at night I get some drawing in.
Man I am so looking forward to the weather getting cooler.

Finally moved in!
Posted 13 years agoSo I'm finally moved into my new place, which is great because it is soooo much bigger. I'm not all unpacked yet, but just having all my stuff there is a huge relief!
Money is tight, as always, but I'll be taking the helm as the manager of the candy shop I work at in a few weeks, so hopefully a nice raise as well as more hours.
Heading down to the music shop in a few days to finance a guitar, as well as applying for a credit card.

Posted 13 years agoDo you love Steam Powered Giraffe? Always wanted to become an engineer-eteer? Don't have the funds currently to do so? Have an overwhelming desire to help the band?
Well this contest is for you!
I will be giving away Engineer-eteer subscriptions as prizes! You get to be an engineer-eteer, see great videos and read inside blogs, AND you get to support the band all at once!
So what do you have to do to reap the benefits of these wonderful prizes?? There are four possible categories that you can enter into. Drawing, writing, costume, and crafts. Two prizes will be given out to EACH category. You may enter into more than one category, but naturally you can only win one prize. (what are you gonna do with TWO accounts!? Unless your bowtie needs one too...) Sadly, there are rules. But fear not! They're very flimsy rules...
Drawing Category Rules:

I'm hoping to get my costume made before halloween so I can wear it for that. Money isn't really an issue at this point, I just want a quality costume! Also no, I'm not looking for a fur suit. I am looking to get Rabbit's outfit from Steam Powered Giraffe custom made for myself.

Posted 13 years agoSo I got my hat in the mail today! It's more like Rabbit's old hat that he wore, but it'll still do the trick! Man was that company ever fast for shipping it out! Still can't believe it. Now all I'm waiting for is the goggles, and my Steam Powered Giraffe swag. Ooooh the SPG swaaaaag. I am going to live in that shirt. I have never been so utterly happy in my entire life. I really have no clue how to handle it. Stand on top of a roof and sing it? Dance around like a freak, flailing and kicking wildly? I need to do something, I'm ready to burst. I have such a keen outlook on the future and everything in my life is going so well (for now). I heard somewhere once, that when life goes well it's a gift that you should enjoy before it disappears again. I try to look at the glass half full, so this kind of seems like a downer statement, but I believe it's somewhat true.
It sounds strange to say this onset of happy overload is due to one group of people. My friends and family are rolling their eyes going, "Steam Powered Giraffe, right?"
OF COURSE! Geeze. They're music and antics just hit my happy bone...or something. Just rubs me the right way. I can't explain it. I wanna dance, sing, SOMETHING.
I love it. Never felt this way before. Thanks guys. <3

Can't stop drawing Steam Powered Giraffe, STILL. Ugh, they're just so awesome! I have a few projects on the go, and have been working on those as well. I've also started getting my Rabbit costume together for Halloween this year, which I couldn't be more excited about. The only thing I might have to spend a little more money on is the facepaint, and the hat. I won't be able to settle wearing some cheapo hat, so I might have to order one offline. I found a website that carries the SAME hat, and it will cost around $75 to get it to me. The rest of the costume should be fairly easy to get, and I'll have to make the jacket myself seeing as it's so unique. I'll even be doing the lacing in the back. Fun times, stay tuned.
Also. Do you know what day it is....? It's SATURDAY.

My two days off went by too quickly, as they always do. I was greeted this morning with a rainy walk to work. My schedule is quite full this week, so hopefully I can get some art in. On another note, I would like to open another commission deal in my journal, but I STILL have not fixed the issue with my PayPal account, so until I do, I can't. However, if anyone is interested and would like to save a slot, please let me know.
I was going to do full body, flat color, 1 character arts for $20 a piece. 4 slots total. Again, I won't be officially open for them for a few days yet, possibly a week, but if you want to save your slot let me know (no payment required, obviously!).
So, on other matters besides art. I recently watched the Avengers (which is amazing by the way) and my Tony Stark/Ironman love returned. I downloaded a bunch of the comic books and hope to buy some in the future. So, expect Ironman related art from me soon. Wait....didn't I say this was about other matters besides art...? Guess I lied. I'm such a fanny.
Lastly. A NEW GEARS OF WAR GAME!? I was SO excited to hear about this. Sure, it's being made by Epic's sister company, People Can Fly, but they did a FANTASTIC job with Bulletstorm so I'm not worried. That and with Baird as the main character, they should have fun writing one-liners that were on par with Grayson Hunt and the gang's. I do love Marcus, but Baird always had a soft spot in my heart, so this should be a real treat (chicks dig the Baird, right?). I watched the E3 teaser for it and chuckled at how young and un-scarred Baird and Cole both look. So adorbs.
