There goes another & My "style" [keep]
Posted 11 years agoFirst, I was saddened to hear another veteran furry artist from when I first ever saw something besides Disney do art. (albeit, pornographic)
Jim Hardiman. The man we knew who drew all kinds of stuff. Most notably
Skunkworks and super detailed snatches. Another infinity symbol added and a solemn bow.
If you didn't know him, or looking for the lighter side of this journal: My art style. Do I have one? *shrugs* No proper training and mostly tinkering or trying stuff. I was questioning it as I sketched THIS for Emikochan. I find some of my art comes out when I drop my glasses and just sketch what I can perceive in my head. There were maybe 4 total that I just drew. Looked at something to give me an idea of the angle, and then just guessed and sketched. The more I look at an image, the more I try to copy it. So the less times I look at something, the more organic the sketch becomes for me. The other three were:

How Endless, Dagon
Alot of the other sketches I did were either looking at a reference or just doodling with nothing in particular in mind. The less of an idea I have, the smaller the doodle becomes. Like the ones I did for Dajinn & Talin. So, what do you folks think? Am I better off just going from my mind?

Assemble the Titan! [keep]
Posted 11 years agoThe Competitive Dice Drafting Game I've just about finished with the rules and will be play testing tonight.
What does this mean for all of you? I'll be looking for artists! Not so much to design the dice, but the cards. Identity cards and all the pieces for the "Scavenge" deck and "Good Find" deck.
Contents:
-Junk (useless cards meant for discarding)
-Weapons (Generic card that is used to upgrade civilians to soldiers)
-Resources (Discarded for rerolls or spent as part of an action)
-Team cards (From Scavenge teams, Infiltrators, and Fire Teams, these cards are face up that would have a few people on them showing what they'd do, such as the Fire team with weapons and explosives)
-Tactics (These cards are played for certain actions, such as Killing Agents, Preventing the loss of casualties, etc)
-Titan Pieces (These are the bigguns! Part of the "Good Find" deck, these are large pieces to a titan. Limbs, head, torso of huge mechs designed to fight off the Alien Invaders that were destroyed during the homeworld Occupation of the Aliens.)

If Interested, give me a heads up. As far as out right commissions and such for cards, I'm getting all the game play, mechanics, and such finalized first. Whether it'll be one artist, team effort, or open to all is up in the air.

Posted 12 years agoTo start, I'm going to take the advice of better artists than me (
Yawg & 
fisk) and start doing some profile shots to get my anatomy back in tune. I think I'll even make them available in avatar size if people are interested. I'm at least sketching, and maybe will color them (cause I got my pencils and my hometime is coming up) and may even finally break the seal on my tablet and try digital if I get good, but I'll do a new journal for that.
So, Want me to draw your character's profile done? At least head shot, maybe bust. Don't think I'll attempt full body. We'll see. So, I don't know. Form an orderly line here in this journal. PROVIDE DESCRIPTION OR LINK TO YOUR CHARACTER and I'll start sketching this week. I've been getting motivation and feeling good. Maybe its from all my Maokai training in League of Legends. :3

1: Could you go the rest of your life without smoking a cigarette?
Yes. I never started smoking. However, I don't mind that others do. All the screaming of second hand smoke. There are things that do worse damage than that. Besides, how come person A died of second hand smoke, but person B, the actual smoker who has been smoking for 35 years, is still doing fine?
2: Are you single/taken/heartbroken/confused?
Single. Been a few years. Last person I was with we had to break up. . because she got pregnant by her room mate.
3: What if I told you that you were pretty?
I'd first laugh to think you may be joking, as my buddies have done. Then I'd say thank you if you were adamant about it and probably compliment you back. (My ass was referred to as "The Goodness" in an episode of Truckin' Nerd)
4: Ever been told “it’s not you, it’s me”?
No. The first ex left because she had feeling for a senior when we were freshmen. The second left when I joined the military (and apparently found some scary guy who was all about sex) and the third and final. . well, see #2.
5: Are you interested in anyone right now?
For me, no. Then again, I haven't been looking. Work focused and climbing out of debt have been my priorities, as well as getting better at League of Legends, drawing again, and our website and podcast. When I'm no longer an OTR driver, maybe I'll start looking again.
6: What are you looking forward to in the next week?
Nothing. This weekend is my home time. Next week I'll be going out for about 7 weeks to get week 8 entirely off.
7: Do you want to be single?
Not forever. It has its benefits, but how long til the longing and loneliness outweighs that? "A man is only so strong..."
8: Did you go out or stay in last night?
Well, depends on your term of In/Out. As I'm in a semi I'm technically always out of the house. However, I did stay IN my truck.
9: How late did you stay up last night?
Til 11pm. Did a 5 hour marathon of League of Legends and finally got to play with :iconAJ Vulpes: who was kind enough to join my pals for a few games. :3 Fuck that Fizz! XD
10: Can you recall the last time you realized you liked someone a lot?
It still dawns on me how much I liked Ex #3, but depends on your terminology too. I like many of my friends and any happy thoughts or ideas involving them reminds me I like them. As far as dating "like," then not in some time because I haven't been looking.
11: Last three things you had to drink?
Coffee (w/ French Vanilla & Hazelnut cream & Sugar), Coke Zero, NOS orange energy drink (The best one. :P )
12: Have you ever pretended to like someone?
No. I don't pretend with those emotions. There are those I have "put up with" for the sake of professional courtesy.
13: Have you ever told somebody you loved them and not actually meant it?
No. Though apparently some mistake my definition of "love." I love my friends and family. If I love you, I'd do what I can to help you out, cheer you up, and even take a bullet for the sake of those I love. If YOU believe that 'I LOVE YOU' means I'll only devote myself to you entirely, above friends and family, then YOU are mistaken. You may take priority, but I will not throw the world away for one love, because TRUE LOVE would understand that I LOVE many.
14: Honestly, has anyone seen you in your underwear in the past 3 months?
Plenty, I'm sure. When I'm parked in my off time I'm in just a shirt and boxer/briefs or pajama pants without underwear. Loose and light layers.
15: Is it hard for you to get over someone?
Yes and no. I still feel the longing passion I had for #3, but I've come to an understanding that she is married with children elsewhere. She hopes for a better friendship, but the sting of the betrayal of getting pregnant and marrying another while I was in military training can't undo that break of trust. That person she married died within that same year, so I do pity her and there is a part that would like to be friends. There is just the constant reminder of her children and the thoughts of "A life that may have been with you" when I hang out. So, I guess so.
16: Think back five months ago, were you single?
Ha. Try 5 years. I have been single since I got deployed. Though, shamefully my bed has not been empty that long.
17: What were you doing at 12:30 this afternoon?
Probably driving. As far as yesterday, I was driving as well.
18: Hold hands with anyone this week?
Nope. No one to hold 'em with when you're driving. Though, I suppose you could say I was holding Jesus' hand. Now take the wheel! *flys off cliff*
19: Could you go for the rest of your life without drinking alcohol?
Probably. Though, I'll drink in the future. I'm not an alcoholic and hate the taste of all alcohol, but I always have a going wager that if I can stand the taste of a drink someone provides/buys me, I'll drink with them. I'm aware of the effects of alcohol, and so I'm classified as an "abuser" but not an "addict/alcoholic." The term "abuser" is one who casually uses a drug/substance for an intended purpose. Like if you only smoke pot to get high so you can draw (which I've heard other artists do) or only drink to sing karaoke at a bar.
20: What would you name your future daughter?
*shrugs* I'd find something with meaning or talk it out with the mother of said daughter. If it was a son, I know his middle name would be my first name. That is the tradition of our family.
21: Do you miss anyone?
Again, yes and no. Currently, no. I'm somewhat of a workaholic. I focus on the task(s) at hand and not drift on other people who are not around. However, when idle thoughts, ideas, memories pop into my mind, that is when I begin to miss people. So, if you ever get a message out of the blue from me where I'm suddenly reliving or retelling a story of what happened with you and I, or a chat we were having, you can rest assured it was fresh in my mind, and I missed you for a moment. A moment that lasted long enough for me to take action. :3
22: Have you kissed three or more people in one night?
Yes. It was totally for the fan girls, but also I'll kiss loved ones on the forehead when they leave or give them a hug. I'm a loving person. :3

No. At the door.

Not so much hiding them, but sometimes people confuse my feelings for the expression on my face. Apparently, my "auto pilot" face when I'm thinking looks upset, pissed, or worried. In actuality, I was thinking of what to eat. I mean, I guess I could have gone through all those emotions thinking about Chipotle, but not likely. Other than that, Joy and Rage are easy to read on me, cause I become quite audible in that case. :D
25: Have you ever cried from being so mad?
Yes. Also the shaking of holding myself back to not launch out at people:
It was at work. I was doing my job and some ignorant asshole began tearing into me for no reason and then lied to my boss that I was calling him an asshole (which he was calling me) over coffee! I worked at a hotel and was setting up breakfast and then checking out a line of 3 people (I'm the only one there) This dickhead comes up, not pushy, but very casually asks if he can get some coffee for his room. I go to check the supplies at the front desk, but this box only has decaf. He didn't want that. I told him I'll be right with him when I'm able, because I have to check these people out. He leaves the desk. Comes back 20 minutes later with his wife. I've checked people out, was about to get the coffee (cause I had to go get a box out of storage) and my boss was there to cover the front desk when this guy comes up full of venom. Complaining about the service, screaming about how there wasn't any coffee in his room. Oh! I also reminded him we have coffee in the breakfast area that I just brewed within this hour (Didn't want breakfast room coffee). Says I called the guy an asshole and refused to give him anything and said "Fuck your coffee" when he left the lobby. My boss could tell by the way my jaw dropped at the audacity of this guy, that he was full of shit, and thankfully stuck by me and check him out. I can't stand liars and ignorance.
A little understanding and honesty from everyone would make the world 2000% better, but that's too hard for some folks I guess.

Whoever the hell the guy checking me out at the sign in desk at a Sysco Warehouse.
27: Are you listening to music right now?
No. Last thing I was listening to was Meatloaf's "The Monster is Loose," while coming up with the powers Labrn would have if he were a League of Legends champion. :3
28: What is something you currently want right now?
To be debt free. . and have another NOS. ;_;

I think it was something along the lines of "WHAT THE FUCK!? MERGE YOU IDIOT!!"

When its raining. I used to wear it up all the time, but now I don't unless the weather calls for it.

Nope. I tend to wander bare foot.

All kinds of stuff. The silliest and out of nowhere was "Little Dinkers" for no reason. I was meeting 2 new people and a friend introduced me as "Little Dinkers" which cause me to pause, look at him, then laugh. XD

35: Are there any stressful situations in your life?
Oh plenty. My gut gets a workout sometimes in the driving situations when dealing with idiots behind the wheel. "Go Back To Idiot Co To Get That Dick In Your Ear!"

Hmm, does the floor count? Cause I stayed the night at a friends place after a party of late night gaming and was on the floor with a few. Otherwise, I shared a hotel room back in ACen 2013 (May)

Well, I've sinned plenty, if thats what you mean. Cast unwarranted (in the eyes of the lord) anger at idiots not showing any sign of competence behind the wheel and causing traffic.
38: When was the last time a member of the opposite sex hugged you?
Hmm. . Maybe 2 weeks ago? Got hugged when leaving, cause I'm a hugger. :3
39: Do you get stressed out easily?
Well, I'd say I can be associated to the likes of my air govenor on my semi. The pressure/stress can build plenty fast but then has a kick release to lower the levels to normal. So yes. I can get worked up, but its not usually lasting.
40: Will you sing today?
What day won't I sing? :D
41: Have you ever wanted to tell someone something but didn’t?
Plenty. Though sometimes it leaks out under my breath. If it ever does, don't say "What did you say" cause then the cat is outta the bag and you'll catch the full maelstrom your ears should hear but I tried my best at holding back for the sake of professionalism and it "not being worth it." Then again, seeing how plenty of people don't care anymore, I'm starting to not care about holding back. For who's sake am I holding back?
42: Who do you go to when you need to talk to someone?
Whoever. I'm a pretty open book. There are parts that are reserved for personal reflection or "Between me and God," but for the most part I'll chat about whatever. Thanks to my pals on Skype I've had chats with. :D
43: Have you ever been taken to the emergency room in an ambulance?
No, but I did go to the ER after getting a rock shot in my eye while riding in a van.
44: What are you listening to right now?
You asked that! No music! Your'e just reaching out to fill your 69 quota. :P However, there is the hum of engines.
45: What is wrong with you right now?
Pssh...*thinks* What ain't? I'm probably Bipolar, I've been waking up with incredibly dry eyes and cotton mouth but not on anything (read something that it could be related to stress or depression), was late due to traffic, hungry but out of healthy snacks, and probably other stuff that isn't worth going into, but plenty good and better than what it could be. :3
46: What is on your wrists right now?
My hands and arms. Otherwise I tend not to wear jewelry or anything. I got a wrap I put on my left wrist when driving, cause thats the one I hold the wheel with the most and have begun feeling some slight carpal tunnel.
47: Where did you get the shirt/sweatshirt you’re wearing?
Grand Canyon, AZ. I went last year, before I started trucking, with my father, uncle, and uncle's sons. We did the "Rim to Rim" challenge (which sounds like some kind of sexual act around these parts) but its hiking from the North rim, down into the canyon, and back up to the south rim. 4 day hike for us. I forget how many miles (look it up!)
48: What do you like better: hot chocolate or hot apple cider?
Hot cider! Don't need no marshmallows or whipped cream to have a good drink! :P
49: Do you make wishes at 11:11?
No. Sounds like a lot of unfulfilled things happening. At least twice a day. ;P
50: Are you a good artist?
*Shrugs* I say no. Some say yes. Its all relative. I'm better than some and some are better than me. Could go into details, but that'd be a whole other journal.

Depends if my eyes are open. XD Seriously, it is, so long as its love and not obsession, misplaced affection, or wickedness in disguise.
52: Do you miss the way things were six months ago?
No. I hate soggy, wet, and cold winter. :P I'll take dry heat and summer any day! Bake like bacon on the hood of a car. Where others hate getting into a car that has been sitting in the heat, I LOVE IT! Like a personal sauna. No humidity, no stickiness, just heat. Warming you like an oven, and then you turn the fan on (be it ac or no) to have a light breeze on your face or just bask and nap in it.
53: Ever been on a golf cart?
Yes. One that went too fast for its own good to. Why you need one that goes up to 45 mph is beyond me.
54: Do you have trust issues?
I trust too easily. Get burned, then the trust is shattered. Then said person trys to make amends. We meet somewhere in the middle without that trust fully coming back.
55: Ever stayed up all night on the phone, with who?
If Skype counts. Otherwise, I tend to stay up all day on the phone. Longest call was just under 6 hours.
56: Do you own something from Hot Topic?
*shrugs* Maybe? I don't care about labels the way others do. Comfort, if I like it, that is all. Whether its hip, in style, out of style. Who cares. That shit changes anyways.
57: Do you use chap stick?
In the winter mostly, or if my lips are cracked. I use chopsticks though.
58: Have you ever slapped someone in the face?
Unintentionally, yes. Hand my arms up and hands interlaced behind my head as a friend and I listened to friend #2 explain why he ditched us to hang with some female friend (not in a relationship, just regular hang out and listen to her talk about abunch of stuff) and at the very end of his story where he pleaded his case, my hands came unwoven, dropping my arms (as their weight were being held up by my hands behind my head) and he was within reach and I ended up slapping him across the face at the end of his story. No. Though apparently some mistake my definition of "love." I love my friends and family. If I love you, I'd do what I can to help you out, cheer you up, and even take a bullet for the sake of those I love. If YOU believe that 'I LOVE YOU' means I'll only devote myself to you entirely, above friends and family, then YOU are mistaken. You may take priority, but I will not throw the world away for one love, because TRUE LOVE would understand that I LOVE many.
14: Honestly, has anyone seen you in your underwear in the past 3 months?
Plenty, I'm sure. When I'm parked in my off time I'm in just a shirt and boxer/briefs or pajama pants without underwear. Loose and light layers.
15: Is it hard for you to get over someone?
Yes and no. I still feel the longing passion I had for #3, but I've come to an understanding that she is married with children elsewhere. She hopes for a better friendship, but the sting of the betrayal of getting pregnant and marrying another while I was in military training can't undo that break of trust. That person she married died within that same year, so I do pity her and there is a part that would like to be friends. There is just the constant reminder of her children and the thoughts of "A life that may have been with you" when I hang out. So, I guess so.

Ha. Try 5 years. I have been single since I got deployed. Though, shamefully my bed has not been empty that long.

Probably driving. As far as yesterday, I was driving as well.

I'm not an alcoholic and hate the taste of all alcohol, but I always have a going wager that if I can stand the taste of a drink someone provides/buys me, I'll drink with them. I'm aware of the effects of alcohol, and so I'm classified as an "abuser" but not an "addict/alcoholic." The term "abuser" is one who casually uses a drug/substance for an intended purpose. Like if you only smoke pot to get high so you can draw (which I've heard other artists do) or only drink to sing karaoke at a bar.
20: What would you name your future daughter?
*shrugs* I'd find something with meaning or talk it out with the mother of said daughter. If it was a son, I know his middle name would be my first name. That is the tradition of our family.

Again, yes and no. Currently, no. I'm somewhat of a workaholic. I focus on the task(s) at hand and not drift on other people who are not around. However, when idle thoughts, ideas, memories pop into my mind, that is when I begin to miss people. So, if you ever get a message out of the blue from me where I'm suddenly reliving or retelling a story of what happened with you and I, or a chat we were having, you can rest assured it was fresh in my mind, and I missed you for a moment. It was at work. I was doing my job and some ignorant asshole began tearing into me for no reason and then lied to my boss that I was calling him an asshole (which he was calling me) over coffee! I worked at a hotel and was setting up breakfast and then checking out a line of 3 people (I'm the only one there) This dickhead comes up, not pushy, but very casually asks if he can get some coffee for his room. I go to check the supplies at the front desk, but this box only has decaf. He didn't want that. I told him I'll be right with him when I'm able, because I have to check these people out. He leaves the desk. Comes back 20 minutes later with his wife. I've checked people out, was about to get the coffee (cause I had to go get a box out of storage) and my boss was there to cover the front desk when this guy comes up full of venom. Complaining about the service, screaming about how there wasn't any coffee in his room. Oh! I also reminded him we have coffee in the breakfast area that I just brewed within this hour (Didn't want breakfast room coffee). Says I called the guy an asshole and refused to give him anything and said "Fuck your coffee" when he left the lobby. My boss could tell by the way my jaw dropped at the audacity of this guy, that he was full of shit, and thankfully stuck by me and check him out. I can't stand liars and ignorance.
A little understanding and honesty from everyone would make the world 2000% better, but that's too hard for some folks I guess.

Grand Canyon, AZ. I went last year, before I started trucking, with my father, uncle, and uncle's sons. We did the "Rim to Rim" challenge (which sounds like some kind of sexual act around these parts) but its hiking from the North rim, down into the canyon, and back up to the south rim. 4 day hike for us. I forget how many miles (look it up!)

Where others hate getting into a car that has been sitting in the heat, I LOVE IT! Like a personal sauna. No humidity, no stickiness, just heat. Warming you like an oven, and then you turn the fan on (be it ac or no) to have a light breeze on your face or just bask and nap in it.

Yes. One that went too fast for its own good to. Why you need one that goes up to 45 mph is beyond me.

Posted 12 years ago*shakes head and shrugs* I decided to put my aside notes at the bottom so as not to be distracted with my ramblings. However, if you placed them where their numerals are and read it straight through, you would see how my brain reads, the Labyrinthine Train Wreck that it is. XD
*throat clear* Ahem. First off, I have no beef, and practically never do with the Admins of this site. [1] They do their job keeping the site functioning as best they can. I don't own or run a site or server, I couldn't imagine the hell and banter of users they must go through on a daily basis. How they react, penalize, and operate are case by case. Anyone who has been here as long as I have should know this. (Since 2006)
For myself, trying to calmly explain the reason behind something and leaving it at that, or going over any misunderstanding/miss communication with the involved parties, has worked for me since I ever knew of furries or online journals. [2] I've never received a ban, suspension, and the only time I had something taken down was in the wake of the DMCA action on FA by Allan. [2] I've had a few notes between admins. Seem to be on the outer rim of the furry circles they hang with. Have none watching me and I'm not watching any of them. Just staying my coarse, like Serenity, and hoping they're not hungry for me.
However, as much as people want to scream and rant about the admins, I recall one thing that was used in Dragoneers defense, I think it was him, that has since caused me to not even get surprised at the admins actions. "FA is a semi-public forum/art site that is hosted by a private party" there fore, they can have as arbitrary and ridiculous rules they want or need, and enforce them as they see fit. Why? They own the place. You think a landlord has never evicted someone they had a personal beef with? Exactly. [4]
So as much as we try to compare them to good or evil, tell them what they should or shouldn't do, or point out their mistakes and misgivings, they really don't have to listen or answer to any of us. Its their servers, their site. Its our content, but they are the host. You may have made an excellent dish, but when the master of the house asks you to leave, you have to leave. Ultimate authority. This site is not a democracy. So while we can enjoy our freedom as artists, they have their rules. You follow or you don't. It is truly that simple. [5]
So place nice and follow the rules or take your ball elsewhere. Since then, I've pretty much kept to myself and only asked a question or two to admins of "Why was this person banned/suspended, as I know the person and missed out why" or "This person has posted adult content of them self (eg; pictures of their testicles) and the content should be taken down" Both real notes I've sent over real situations. That about wraps it up. I didn't even have to send a note about an image I colored for Allan when the DMCA axe came down on my gallery, as they had already sent a note explaining and apologizing the reason the art had to be taken down. [6] That is the extent of my interaction with the admins. I handle questions and misunderstandings on my own and never had to get an admin to interfere. Also, each of those notes sent were handled and explained with politeness and no drama, journals, or issue was taken with any of it.
So, there you have it. My stance is a resounding shoulder shrug. They do what they can and want, because they can do what they can and want. Some are hits, some are misses. There has been great drama all over this site, while I casually move along in search for the droids I'm looking for. I have not needed to rise up "against the admin man" nor call for a rally of support over another users actions against me, save for one incident:
The only thing close to drama I had to deal with was when I made a comment on a piece of art. Person A made an art that had her character and another character, that of Person B, in an erotic manner. I pointed out that there was space on the left open, perhaps for a 3rd character? Person A responded that she was not into that. Person B threatened me with violence. That Person A was his wife, that their characters are EXACT representations of themselves, and an advance on her character was an advance on his wife, which he took very personally. Now, an important note right there is, I never said it was me or my character who should be in the image with them. Nor did I go into graphic detail about how I/the character should plow her from the back. No, an critique point was warped into "I wanna help him bang his wife" in this guy's psychotic mind.
I apologized, that I did not know that was how they treated their characters. I honestly didn't read that part in their profiles. I don't read everyone's profile information before making a post. Shame on me. *slaps one hand with the other* He called me a liar that I knew (cause you know what I know, ya jackass) and threatened to kill me if he ever met me in person. Now, I could have taken that to the admins. A personal life threat against me over a comment that could have just as easily been blocked? A comment that was never repeated nor had this been going on over many submissions. However, that is an issue you take to the cops, not the admins. A threat, a life threat, a stalker? That is issues for the police to handle, not a site admin. You can report to the admin that "This user is harassing me" and they can place a ban or block the user. that is where that admin's responsibility ends, in my eyes. Maybe I'm wrong? I know if I was running a site and someone came to me about a stalker, first thing I'd ask was "Did you call the police?" *shrugs* So, I unwatched Person A, deleted the image I colored for Person A, and stopped giving a rats about Person A, except I hope Person B is NOT as Psychotic to her, for I'm not spiteful. She had no control over his over reaction. She didn't say anything or try to dissolve the issue, so who knows. Maybe she likes to see him go over board on people. Maybe its a turn on. Maybe they're both nuts. Who gives a shit, right?
So, like he said to the woman of the night, "take it as you will." Questions?
1) I had no issue with the Admins for the DMCA act enforced by Allan, that was their job. I did take objection to their ban of Norithics, when the Sonic age/cub issue changed their terms and AUP of this site. That caused an Exodus to InkBunny that we have lost him to that site and other artists. Shame, as it has a stronger filing and ability to sell prints and would be a strong competitor to FA. I decided to take a break from FA, and have never fully recovered drawing art at the frequency I once did on account of this. Though I did not leave FA over it.
2) When I first came online, when Labrn was barely an idea and Mystic not even an idea, I was on LiveJournal/GreatJournal. Before the time of Blogs, Tumblrs, and Twitters. I'll have to revisit them sometime, and either clear them and take them down or leave it be. So go search while you can. Take a wild guess what the user name is? :P For those new to me, it was an interaction on a journal that brought me to FA and the furry fandom.
3) Says he regrets it, I have communication off site over on InkBunny, I'm indifferent to him but upset at the action. Lots of collateral damage. The worse thing you can ever do to an artist is censor/destroy their artwork. Collaboration, colorings, stories. Someone took time and imagination to make something that brought emotion and freedom to another and you took that away. How dare you. If it was your creation or you were a part of it and then someone taking it down or away, that is like telling an artist to not breathe, think, or live. Those words/actions, my friend, are fightin' words/actions.
4) Not saying its right, but saying it is what it is. You can fight to get back on FA. Maybe even get an apology. I know users who have tried. I've heard of users coming back under aliases, and others who gave up and moved on. Do you want to after dealing with something like that? Well, that is on you.
5) Personally, I don't see why this stalker/ban thing happened the way it did. Poor judgement, wrong move, information they have we didn't. *shrugs* I was not part of it and never was. I'm sorry to sound cold, but I don't have too much insight or care on a topic I know nothing about nor was involved with. I react to things that effect me in a greater stance. That said, I don't see why they didn't suspend the stalker's account or all parties involved until the situation was discovered. At the very least, that would have only caused a hiccup in their productivity than the drama that ensued.
6) The only thing I never got a full answer to was when I was working on the rules for a Pleasure Bon Bon card game. I had set all the rules up and posted them on 2 journals here. *throat clear* Ahem. First off, I have no beef, and practically never do with the Admins of this site. [1] They do their job keeping the site functioning as best they can. I don't own or run a site or server, I couldn't imagine the hell and banter of users they must go through on a daily basis. How they react, penalize, and operate are case by case. Anyone who has been here as long as I have should know this. (Since 2006)
For myself, trying to calmly explain the reason behind something and leaving it at that, or going over any misunderstanding/miss communication with the involved parties, has worked for me since I ever knew of furries or online journals. [2] I've never received a ban, suspension, and the only time I had something taken down was in the wake of the DMCA action on FA by Allan. [2] I've had a few notes between admins. Seem to be on the outer rim of the furry circles they hang with. Have none watching me and I'm not watching any of them. Just staying my coarse, like Serenity, and hoping they're not hungry for me.
However, as much as people want to scream and rant about the admins, I recall one thing that was used in Dragoneers defense, I think it was him, that has since caused me to not even get surprised at the admins actions. "FA is a semi-public forum/art site that is hosted by a private party" there fore, they can have as arbitrary and ridiculous rules they want or need, and enforce them as they see fit. Why? They own the place. You think a landlord has never evicted someone they had a personal beef with? Exactly. [4]
So as much as we try to compare them to good or evil, tell them what they should or shouldn't do, or point out their mistakes and misgivings, they really don't have to listen or answer to any of us. Its their servers, their site. Its our content, but they are the host. You may have made an excellent dish, but when the master of the house asks you to leave, you have to leave. Ultimate authority. This site is not a democracy. So while we can enjoy our freedom as artists, they have their rules. You follow or you don't. It is truly that simple. [5]
So place nice and follow the rules or take your ball elsewhere. Since then, I've pretty much kept to myself and only asked a question or two to admins of "Why was this person banned/suspended, as I know the person and missed out why" or "This person has posted adult content of them self (eg; pictures of their testicles) and the content should be taken down" Both real notes I've sent over real situations. That about wraps it up. I didn't even have to send a note about an image I colored for Allan when the DMCA axe came down on my gallery, as they had already sent a note explaining and apologizing the reason the art had to be taken down. [6] That is the extent of my interaction with the admins. I handle questions and misunderstandings on my own and never had to get an admin to interfere. Also, each of those notes sent were handled and explained with politeness and no drama, journals, or issue was taken with any of it.
So, there you have it. My stance is a resounding shoulder shrug. They do what they can and want, because they can do what they can and want. Some are hits, some are misses. There has been great drama all over this site, while I casually move along in search for the droids I'm looking for. I have not needed to rise up "against the admin man" nor call for a rally of support over another users actions against me, save for one incident:
The only thing close to drama I had to deal with was when I made a comment on a piece of art. Person A made an art that had her character and another character, that of Person B, in an erotic manner. I pointed out that there was space on the left open, perhaps for a 3rd character? Person A responded that she was not into that. Person B threatened me with violence. That Person A was his wife, that their characters are EXACT representations of themselves, and an advance on her character was an advance on his wife, which he took very personally. Now, an important note right there is, I never said it was me or my character who should be in the image with them. Nor did I go into graphic detail about how I/the character should plow her from the back. No, an critique point was warped into "I wanna help him bang his wife" in this guy's psychotic mind.
I apologized, that I did not know that was how they treated their characters. I honestly didn't read that part in their profiles. I don't read everyone's profile information before making a post. Shame on me. *slaps one hand with the other* He called me a liar that I knew (cause you know what I know, ya jackass) and threatened to kill me if he ever met me in person. Now, I could have taken that to the admins. A personal life threat against me over a comment that could have just as easily been blocked? A comment that was never repeated nor had this been going on over many submissions. However, that is an issue you take to the cops, not the admins. A threat, a life threat, a stalker? That is issues for the police to handle, not a site admin. You can report to the admin that "This user is harassing me" and they can place a ban or block the user. that is where that admin's responsibility ends, in my eyes. Maybe I'm wrong? I know if I was running a site and someone came to me about a stalker, first thing I'd ask was "Did you call the police?" *shrugs* So, I unwatched Person A, deleted the image I colored for Person A, and stopped giving a rats about Person A, except I hope Person B is NOT as Psychotic to her, for I'm not spiteful. She had no control over his over reaction. She didn't say anything or try to dissolve the issue, so who knows. Maybe she likes to see him go over board on people. Maybe its a turn on. Maybe they're both nuts. Who gives a shit, right?
So, like he said to the woman of the night, "take it as you will." Questions?
1) I had no issue with the Admins for the DMCA act enforced by Allan, that was their job. I did take objection to their ban of Norithics, when the Sonic age/cub issue changed their terms and AUP of this site. That caused an Exodus to InkBunny that we have lost him to that site and other artists. Shame, as it has a stronger filing and ability to sell prints and would be a strong competitor to FA. I decided to take a break from FA, and have never fully recovered drawing art at the frequency I once did on account of this. Though I did not leave FA over it.
2) When I first came online, when Labrn was barely an idea and Mystic not even an idea, I was on LiveJournal/GreatJournal. Before the time of Blogs, Tumblrs, and Twitters. I'll have to revisit them sometime, and either clear them and take them down or leave it be. So go search while you can. Take a wild guess what the user name is? :P For those new to me, it was an interaction on a journal that brought me to FA and the furry fandom.
3) Says he regrets it, I have communication off site over on InkBunny, I'm indifferent to him but upset at the action. Lots of collateral damage. The worse thing you can ever do to an artist is censor/destroy their artwork. Collaboration, colorings, stories. Someone took time and imagination to make something that brought emotion and freedom to another and you took that away. How dare you. If it was your creation or you were a part of it and then someone taking it down or away, that is like telling an artist to not breathe, think, or live. Those words/actions, my friend, are fightin' words/actions.
4) Not saying its right, but saying it is what it is. You can fight to get back on FA. Maybe even get an apology. I know users who have tried. I've heard of users coming back under aliases, and others who gave up and moved on. Do you want to after dealing with something like that? Well, that is on you.
5) Personally, I don't see why this stalker/ban thing happened the way it did. Poor judgement, wrong move, information they have we didn't. *shrugs* I was not part of it and never was. I'm sorry to sound cold, but I don't have too much insight or care on a topic I know nothing about nor was involved with. I react to things that effect me in a greater stance. That said, I don't see why they didn't suspend the stalker's account or all parties involved until the situation was discovered. At the very least, that would have only caused a hiccup in their productivity than the drama that ensued.
6) The only thing I never got a full answer to was when I was working on the rules for a Pleasure Bon Bon card game. I had set all the rules up and posted them on 2 journals here. Stopped by the local Hollywood casino. Lost more than I want to admit, but before that, won enough to buy me a smart pen for the road. Should have quit when I was ahead, ya ya, but when you have no wingman to pull you away from a hot streak, what do you expect with a guy who loves the thrill of the game. Seriously. I'd play even if money wasn't involved, just with the chance and comradery of the game. :3
So, what does this mean? It means I can sketch crap while over the road, trace it with my smart pen, so that when I stop in (or get a laptop) I can upload my inkings. So more art in the future if all goes well and I can figure it out. ;3

16-25 -Borderline Mary-Sue We have a problem. You need to tone your character down. They are most likely a bit annoying to others, too.
26< -Mary-Sue Oh dear. Do I really need to comment on this?
Again, a few points that over lap, so Balls to that, but this is Mystic. First of a series of experimental "genetically altered" children of the royal family in an attempt to make "the perfect Aldaberan." It nearly worked for the king, except the first was a female. That didn't please him, and she was named Mistake. Her mother, the queen, quickly interveened that he meant "Mystic" and was referring to mistake about something else. Mystic learned of this, and that helped to carve the woman she would become. Resented by her father, she was tucked away for teaching. Though he seemed to hate her, he did at least see the value of testing this child's limits and sent her to train with the 3 most powerful Psychers the king had.
They too looked down upon a female student, but found their own sport in teaching her "forbidden lord" in exchange for peep shows and the like when she began to develop [Aldaberans age in 7s. 1-7 child, 8-14 teen, 15-21 young adult] So when she reached age category 3, they began asking for more than just looks. Though aware of their lecherous ways, she schemed to get them back, in time. Of coarse, they couldn't just take the virginity of the princess, no, but there were 'so many ways around that' they would tell themselves. She grabbed every tome she could while they were distracted by the pleasure. So the beginning of a very manipulative sense of self preservation began at 14. She learned that she, eventually, had a brother and so wanted to meet him, but was sequestered in her training as he was. The king demanded perfection of his children and so they were sent to train and train until there was nothing left for them to learn. At one out break, she had run away from the training and was assaulted by some drunken males who nearly raped her, but she was rescued by two male guards (one of which was bi, the other gay) who would instruct her in the sexual arts. . not entirely at their will, but they did not have powers like her.
Then came the sex wars, risen up from the male oppression. Mystic, overhearing the plans of making her brother an immortal weapon, not only informed the female resistance, but had found in one of the ancient tomes a way to bind her life force to her brother, thinking to make herself just as immortal. It worked. The females overthrew the men with their resources poured into Labrn, and surgical strikes within lead by Mystic. She happily slaughtered the three perverted teachers and then captured her father, after a rather 'strange' daddy/daughter interaction (you pervs :P) and didn't smile at his execution... "Your right father, Mistake is the correct term to use with me. A mistake to cross, a mistake to abandon, a mistake to neglect. . I'd go on, but you're dead." ... until his eyes rolled back in his head. From there, she would instruct and play with the hearts and minds of every student who came to her instruction, every one a pawn to make sure things ran smooth to her liking. Each generation, whispers of "just how powerful is Mother Mystic" would reach her ears, driving that Megalomania wheel.
She never usurped the queen, saw no need as she was already in control. . but when arguments, fights, and near revolution broke out to do something about her brother Labrn, a growing hatred for her own kind began to rise. "He defends them, loves them, and all they see is that stupid curse father placed upon him. Like foolish kittens they are. I must. . I must. . ." and after an attempted public assassination of her brother, that of coarse failed, Mystic had had enough. With very careful planning and enchantments placed upon her brother (not that he knew for she had forgotten lore no one knew of, and for his own good and protection) she plotted a near genocide of all sisters who opposed her and her brother. This would nearly succeed (90%) but drove Labrn crazy. So she shielded his mind from it all and they went into Exile, leaving their kind and pursuing whatever whim they imagined.

Again, a few points that over lap, so Balls to that, but this is Mystic. First of a series of experimental "genetically altered" children of the royal family in an attempt to make "the perfect Aldaberan." It nearly worked for the king, except the first was a female. That didn't please him, and she was named Mistake. Her mother, the queen, quickly interveened that he meant "Mystic" and was referring to mistake about something else. Mystic learned of this, and that helped to carve the woman she would become. Resented by her father, she was tucked away for teaching. Though he seemed to hate her, he did at least see the value of testing this child's limits and sent her to train with the 3 most powerful Psychers the king had.
They too looked down upon a female student, but found their own sport in teaching her "forbidden lord" in exchange for peep shows and the like when she began to develop [Aldaberans age in 7s. 1-7 child, 8-14 teen, 15-21 young adult] So when she reached age category 3, they began asking for more than just looks. Though aware of their lecherous ways, she schemed to get them back, in time. Of coarse, they couldn't just take the virginity of the princess, no, but there were 'so many ways around that' they would tell themselves. She grabbed every tome she could while they were distracted by the pleasure. So the beginning of a very manipulative sense of self preservation began at 14. She learned that she, eventually, had a brother and so wanted to meet him, but was sequestered in her training as he was. The king demanded perfection of his children and so they were sent to train and train until there was nothing left for them to learn. At one out break, she had run away from the training and was assaulted by some drunken males who nearly raped her, but she was rescued by two male guards (one of which was bi, the other gay) who would instruct her in the sexual arts. . not entirely at their will, but they did not have powers like her.
Then came the sex wars, risen up from the male oppression. Mystic, overhearing the plans of making her brother an immortal weapon, not only informed the female resistance, but had found in one of the ancient tomes a way to bind her life force to her brother, thinking to make herself just as immortal. It worked. The females overthrew the men with their resources poured into Labrn, and surgical strikes within lead by Mystic. She happily slaughtered the three perverted teachers and then captured her father, after a rather 'strange' daddy/daughter interaction (you pervs :P) and didn't smile at his execution... "Your right father, Mistake is the correct term to use with me. A mistake to cross, a mistake to abandon, a mistake to neglect. . I'd go on, but you're dead." ... until his eyes rolled back in his head. From there, she would instruct and play with the hearts and minds of every student who came to her instruction, every one a pawn to make sure things ran smooth to her liking. Each generation, whispers of "just how powerful is Mother Mystic" would reach her ears, driving that Megalomania wheel.
She never usurped the queen, saw no need as she was already in control. . but when arguments, fights, and near revolution broke out to do something about her brother Labrn, a growing hatred for her own kind began to rise. "He defends them, loves them, and all they see is that stupid curse father placed upon him. Like foolish kittens they are. I must. . I must. . ." and after an attempted public assassination of her brother, that of coarse failed, Mystic had had enough. With very careful planning and enchantments placed upon her brother (not that he knew for she had forgotten lore no one knew of, and for his own good and protection) she plotted a near genocide of all sisters who opposed her and her brother. This would nearly succeed (90%) but drove Labrn crazy. So she shielded his mind from it all and they went into Exile, leaving their kind and pursuing whatever whim they imagined.

Hmm, there were a few points that overlap, but thats Labrn. Son of a tyrant king, of a race of psychic beings. A war of the sexes rose up. As the son of the king, he had training and was made "perfect" through ancient tech and ritual to make him an immortal weapon to maintain his father's control. The ritual was interrupted by a rogue squad of female psychers who changed that his immortality would come from the females the king hoped to fight and destroy. Labrn hid from the war, causing the women to win as the males resources were spent on him. Before the king was put to death, he cursed Labrn. "So you love them over your own brothers? Then 'LOVE' them to your end." Thus the male rule of oppression ended, but whatof Labrn? They could not kill or fully control him. He was peaceful and compliant, but the curse upon his libido grew with the years. Tales of nightly visits and wild attacks unprovoked led to his banishment. However, he would still be found and called upon to defend the kingdom. Til 'the end' was engineered by his sister, Mystic. Then it was just Labrn and Mystic. His memory was blocked to keep him from breaking down, but he recalls bits when losing control. Now he travels on a whim with his sister. Her life forced tethered to his by a ritual, and him immortal as long as she lived.

Commissioners, I know, I'm horrible. That is why I'm dirt cheap, if not free. On the back burner. As my profile warned, I'm horribly driven by inspiration.
So...to those who have spoken to me about image ideas, requests, trades, commissions: As I am driven by inspiration, motivation, and am more likely to do something out of nowhere, keep in touch. Not just "how is my image coming?" You can still ask that, but it is more likely to bum myself that I've been dragging my heels rather than getting it done.

Got a $1, Get a Commission!

I have tried them before, and couldn't focus, but that has changed. I'm taking steps to at least doodle and sketch each day. Regardless of quality, I'm drawing each day. Due to that, I'm trying commissions again. Their structure will hopefully get me drawing better and more frequent. So here is how it works. Each layer is a buck! $1! Easy, right?
Sketch = 1 ($1) Ink = +1 ($2) Color = +1 ($3) Background = +1 ($4) Each Character beyond the first (that is more than a bust) = +1 each.
So two characters, inked at a bar with a bust/head shot saying a funny line would be $4. (The bust cracking the joke is free)
Limits? None set. I'll give it all a try. Its just a buck or three. Can't promise it'll be the best if its unfamiliar territory, but I'll try my best. If its racey or contraversal, you can ask me on my Email or at InkBunny.
Stories may be added randomly upon request, but those take more than drawing. I don't want to give anyone a crudy story. No comics at this time, though.
Part 2 is, when I've gotten enough commissions to get a commission by another artist, a contest/project will be held. The winner will get to be apart of he commission or can choose the commision. I will also include a story to go with the image. :3
If you refer a new watcher/user to my journal, I'll bump/add to your commission for each one. Get two people to stop by, I'll ink nd color your sketch for that same buck. :3

New Years Resolution, Uploads, and stuff!
Posted 13 years agoSo Happy New Year, of coarse. Hadn't really made any resolutions other than to kick my "no art" funk thats still lingering (not depressed, just not motivated to draw :/ ) and to save to visit my friend in California.
Uploads. Been debating what all to upload. Been hokding off uploading my commissions, as that will be rhe sign of the last of my uploads. What to post in regards to colorings, sketches, etc.
If I do manage to do something new, I won't be posting it til after the old uploads.
Faves! Thank you all for them, and forgive me friends who are refaving all the stuff they once did before. I've debated whether to say thanks to each individual fav like I use to or just journal "thanks" like others do.
I don't want people to think I care less due to it, as I would thank each fav and use it as a stepping stone for more conversation or to look at their gallery,faves, etc, but there are plenty who say nothing in response or don't like such copy/paste thanks for watches and faves.
Writings!
Forgiveness all my writers when I talked of that written project to highlight a written piece once a week. Job change and lack of entries killed that momentum. I would like to try again. Scale it back to at least one a month, as a few friends of mine on here are writtrs and don't want them to feel left out, discoraged, or unloved. Its a harsh fandom that often overlooks a written piece if it doesn't have art/comic to go with it. Except for the few genuine souls who enjoy a good read or other writters themselvs who know the pains of being a writer on FA.
Anywho, as I've been on a very long break from drawing/coloring, I've had a growing interest to write and finalize Labrn & Mystic's background, as well as a few key points/stories of theirs. That could show p, and if I do, feel free to proofread and point out corrections. I will not take it personally.
New characters?
Yes, there is more than just the two Aldaberrans with this guy. Some were mostly concepts, but as they reoccur, they get an exta layer each time, and so builds a character. Most notable would be Ransuer (like the weapon he wields) a Reptilian hunter who eats all he catches. ALL. As well as Xepheo, Conroy, and Knox Archer. More on that later.
Past journals and stuff.
As I cler my gallery, so, too will I clear out journals after reviewing them for important ingo. I will try and finish the "comment and I'll" journal. We'll see what happens.
I'm also (barely but still) helping the writter
lerwin with her raccoon characer, Alex, image and story, illustrated by Bittenhard. At least 6 installments, on number two right now. (I get to be the teaher :3 )

I normally just disappear til I'm over it, but seeing as I've got plenty of promises to uphold, some serious help, inspiration, or what not to help shake this funk would be gretly appreciated. There is music I listen too, but I find myself even unwilling to at least sit st my desk to look at the blank paper.
I thank those in advance who tell me not to worry, but that is half the problem. I'm not. I'm completely apathetic and depleted of any and all will. *sigh* Just in time for Christmas.

Posted 14 years agoSo, I'm trying to sketch at least an hour each night. I'm working down the list but when I get ideas, I want to get 'em down. I'm wanting to try some group hardcore stuff. I realize I can never get the stuff right, but I always gotta bite off more than I chew.
Anywho, got a bukkake like facial I want to try, a threesome, and then a handful (I'm thinking 3) that will be involved in a sexual adventure involving Mystic. It'll help showcase some of her attitude and powers. :3
