~*Anime Expo 2014 Fur Meet*~ Saturday July 5th at 2pm
Posted 11 years agoHi everyone, it’s the time of year again for Anime Expo!
The meet will be on Saturday July 5th at 2pm (Day 3). It will be at the usual area, the Concourse Foyer. MAP we will meet at the red star!!!
I STONGLY urge you all to bring your own water! It will be HOT and there really isn’t any areas to cool off out of the public eye (for those who worry about ruining the magic). I also recommend a handler, the con gets busier every year and as it’s not a fur con so people’s reactions can very.( Obviously this is your choice, I’m not responsible for what happens to you, sorry.)
Remember even if you’re NOT a fursuiter PLEASE join the fun and photos!!!
As usual have fun, be safe, and be mindful of others around you! Hope to see many of you there!

Posted 12 years agoLA_Furs will be celebrating our 3rd Halloween gathering once again the old abandoned Griffith Park Zoo!
Drag your furry bodies to this horrifically FUN event, as our usual hangout will be decorated for the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride!
(We will however be respectful and not disturb any of the decor, as we don't want to anger any ghostly goulies that may lurk the park! But feel free to enjoy snapping photos and using park props as frightful back drops.) We will be planting our furry bodies at the picnic area not far from our usual dungeon-like enclosures!

Since it’s hard to follow everyone’s birthdays I figured why not celebrate everyone’s at once! We will be having an Unbirthday-Birthday Party!
As always we urge you to bring water/beverages for yourselves (especially suiters) as well as snacks. "Sharing is Caring" is our motto, so bringing along some extra noms will be greatly appreciated and welcomed! Hopefully we can get less sweet goodies and more actual food items. BOO!
LA_Furs will be celebrating their 2nd Halloween gathering once again the old abandoned Griffith Park Zoo! Drag your furry bodies to this horrifically FUN event, as our usual hangout will be decorated for the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride!
(We will however be respectful and not disturb any of the decor, as we don't want to anger any ghostly goulies that may lurk the park! But feel free to enjoy snapping photos and using park props as frightful back drops.) We will be planting our furry bodies at the picnic area not far from our usual dungeon-like enclosures!

We will have 2 costume contests in 2 catagories each: For those in Fur Suit and those Not in Suit; but in order to compete, YOU must wear a costume of sorts! There will be a "Best Costume" award and a "Sexiest Costume" award. (The "Sexy" costume must be "child and grandma" safe, as not to cause any retinal and mental damage to civilians! ABSOLUTELY NO NAUGHTY BITS SHOWING, PLEASE!)
As usual, Fur_Mum will bring zombie pasta marinara and bake up something devilishly sinful...... And if Dr. Frankenstein can give her a new brain, she won't forget the Bingo set! Furry Bingo prizes for the winners!
Please bring water/beverages, and snacks for yourselves. Sharing is Caring and if ya brings a bit extra, the ghouls and goblins will be happy and amused!
****Since we always have such a great time at these gatherings, and as the saying goes, "Parting is such sweet sorrow...." the furry light bulb went off and we got to thinking.... Why not continue the meet at the Dennys on Sunset Blvd! It's not too far from the park, and it would give those who came from far (and near) a chance to continue chatting.

LA Furs will be held on the 21st of July. As always, READ OUR DIRECTIONS AND RULES LINKED TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS JOURNAL AND ON OUR FRONT PAGE. Everything you need to know and find us is listed there.
Because this is summer, I suggest suiters don't suit at all or wear partials instead of full suits.
Remember, that this is summer and California can get pretty hot so BRING YOUR OWN WATER. Please do not rely on the gratuity of others, the food and drinks we usually have are donated and aren't always available.
An idea for an activity is a water gun fight! Water balloons are NOT allowed because it's nearly impossible to ensure that we clean up every speck of latex. Bring your water guns! Don't have one? Buy the cheap ones at the liquor stores!
As always, food donations are graciously accepted! This is a FREE group so it's difficult for two people to feed everyone.
On a final note, our other admin has still not contacted me so I'm not completely sure if she'll be there or her mom with their delicious cooking.

April 21st meet... And Rules Update!
Posted 13 years agoWe hope that all attending the April 21st meet had a good time! We seem to be gathering fur with each gathering! LA_Furs had a great turnout and A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO BROUGHT SNACKS AND BEVERAGES! IT IS ALWAYS GREATLY APPRECIATED! (Especially the water! It was a hot day....)
This was the first time we had an "After Party" at Dennys and that went well. We did however run into a slight problem with the staff at Dennys. It seems that not everyone left a tip for the wait staff. If we want to continue with these "After Gatherings" please be considerate and plan on bringing an extra couple of dollars to leave gratuities! Cookie Crumbs as well as Growly had to cover the extra cash for the tips. This was our first time, so next time we'll "make it better!"

Posted 14 years agoWhy Feb and not Jan? First week of Jan is Anime Los Angeles convention and the second weekend is Furthur Confusion! Prancing Skiltaire has also said something about holding their next meet on the 3rd or 4th week of Jan but has not decided when. So, to avoid scheduling our meet the same day as anything else, we picked Februrary 18th!
It's a Red and Pink party in honor of a late celebration of Valentines! Do you think you've met a special someone at our meets? Or do you just want to express how much your friends mean to you? Use this as an opportunity to share your heartfelt feelings about your friends and fellow furries without being thought of as being mushy.
We do not supply food and any food you see at our meets is generously donated by fellow members. Please, the only thing we ask of you is to contribute and bring food, cups, plates or napkins, or to bring your own lunch.

Posted 14 years agoThank you everybody for attending the last meet, I was glad that more people were socializing! We had a good turnout and I hope our future meets continue to grow.
Also, this time we seemed to have a problem with nobody bringing their own food and water. I didn't think I would have to post it everytime because, well...we're adults, and we should be prepared.
So here are the rules for all the meets:
1. Bring your own food and water. You don't have to bring extra to share. It's not your responsibility to feed and water everyone. For people who do partake in the shared food, please, consider giving your sponsor a couple of bucks. The group itself does not take donations, so we are not responsible for feeding you guys. Any food brought that is shared is purely from the kindess from the other persons heart.
2. Please dress in a family friendly way. We haven't had any trouble with this yet, but for future reference, we want to put on a good face for the public, considering we are meeting in a public place. I would like for us to have some future meets at the actual LA Zoo and we will need a good standing in the public to do that.
3. When non-furs ask what we do, just say we enjoy costuming.
That's all I can think of for now. If any of you have any suggestions, please post below.
And another thing, if you have links to galleries from the last meet, please, share them with us!
Also, I was thinking of buying a banner on FA for a month to advertise for the group. What are your thoughts on this?
