It's official
Posted 14 years agoThe herd got me. I'm a ponyfile.
After what seems like a solid 2 years of managing to avoid it, I ended up with a copy of the first season. So I watched it. Four episodes in I knew there was no going back.
I'm now working on what's probably going to be the weirdest OC pony ever. A pony version of Dev XD
PS:
WHY DO THE NEW EPISODES TAKE SO LONG TO AIR!? AAAUUUUGGGHHHHHH
PPS:
How is there so few games for MLP thus far...it seems to defy the heavy-handed proliferation of any successful brand in the modern video game industry...

Lack of activity
Posted 14 years agoSo I've been pretty chronically inactive for a while now.
The cause is actually quite simple, I became very picky about what I would and wouldn't post anymore. Too many rule revisions and associated or indirectly related bullshit, people's toes being inadvertently stepped on, people reacting stupidly to submission content, etc
Don't get me wrong - I am in no way special in this regard - most people have the same principle conditions to deal with. I simply deal with these conditions by being lazy and overly cautious.
That said, there's plenty I could post, and a fair bit of it I probably will before long. In particular, illustrations of the other types of Kaisura, besides the familiar "standard" variant, are in the works.
On a sidenote, of clarification, the wolf-like variation of Kaisura Furball's been doing pictures of, isn't one of mine. That's her pet-project.

Most Loved / Most Hated game of all time?
Posted 14 years agoI realize this is a bizarre subject for a journal after such a period of inactivity. It's also note a meme as far as I know, nor is this an attempt to start one, actually. A discussion with a friend of mine just sort of reignited the spark on this particular subject and I thought I'd share it. If you feel like propagating it, though, go for your life.
MOST LOVED GAME OF ALL TIME?
The original Neverwinter Nights. In its full form, with all the expansions. Probably the best non-Eastern Adventure/RPG game of all time. However highly subject to debate that may be, it's my opinion, and nothing's been able to change it thus far. The original NWN, especially in its fully expanded form, was long as hell, could dynamically generate to keep things changing on re-plays, and had the most insanely large character customization and growth system WITHOUT being needlessly complicated or ultimately half pointless. The graphics, at the time, were great (in fact I remember a lot of games after it that didn't look as good) and, so far as I recall, it was one of the last games to come out before the "dumbing down" effect really began.
MOST HATED GAME OF ALL TIME?
Neverwinter Nights 2, for being the biggest disappointment in video gaming I've ever experienced. NWN2 was deplorably weak and an insult to the original. And I'll go to my grave resolute in that opinion.
RUNNERS UP
Portal comes in a close second, tied with Dead Space 1 and 2, on the positive side.
Carmageddon 3 comes in an easy first on the negative side, for never actually being made. Strange reason to hate something (not existing) I guess, but I loved me some Carmageddon back in the day, and 3 never actually happening just...saddens me. (Note: I'm well aware of TDR2000, but that wasn't actually Carmageddon 3, in fact it barely qualifies as a Carmeddon at all, and if you liked the games, you should understand why.)
That's my two cents (before conversion rates). Peace and shiny things.

"I'm not racist, but..."
Posted 14 years agoYes, you are. Even if you don't want to admit it. The very reason you're compelled to say "I'm not racist, but..." is because you know what you're about to say is, or at least, could be considered, racist, and you don't want the negative stigma attached to racism to immediately invalidate what you say.
This journal is aimed at no one in particular, or with any real malice. It's just one of those things that really annoys me.

PSP Owners (2000/3000)
Posted 14 years agoEver thought to yourself; Gee I'd love to hook my PSP up to my TV instead of screwing my neck up religiously, but Sony are too lame to maintain production of the proprietary cable, which is crap anyway?
Despair not. HIVE, a third party company, who I've little if anything of before, have their own component cable out for the PSP (2000/3000 only). It's called a HIVE Component AV Cable (for PSP), which of course uses the YPBPR connections of your TV.
I'm not about to claim it's perfect, because it isnt. The cable can't bypass the PSP's hardware enforced scaling (a CFW may be able to get around this), which limits the amount of the screen the display can actually use when running a game, but depending on the size of your TV, it's still a hell of a lot bigger and more conveniently aligned than the PSP screen.
I don't think I've ever made a product endorsement in my journal, but this is one of those rare moments where something I've picked up made me happy enough to actually mention it. Having chronic neck and back problems, and loving my PSP, were a horrible combination - that problem is now rectified.
A word of warning, though. Do not grab one thinking it will magically make the games look better - it wont. It will just make the display bigger, which more often than not exposes that the graphics on the PSP only look so good because the screen is small in the first place. That said, I've been playing Dissidia and Peacewalker through it since yesterday and I'm pretty satisfied with the results, though it does, curiously, seem to cause the menu to lag slightly in Dissidia (but not in gameplay).
PS: Peacewalker is easily one of the best Metal Gear (period) games so far. If you haven't tried it, do so, assuming you have the means anyway, it's worth it. How good is it? Metal Gear 3D: Snake Eater, a port of Snake Eater (MGS3) for the 3DS, is being built using the Peacewalker engine (which is itsself an upgraded version of the MGS3 engine). And I've sunk 50 hours into it so far, without getting bored with it. Your mileage may vary.
PSS: D012 (the Dissidia prequel for the unenlightened) looms ever so close. I can taste the impending awesome...
Clarification
Posted 15 years agoAnd something of an apology, if I did indeed strike a nerve with my last journal.
I myself do not frequent the forums. What I knew of this most recent development was told to me by someone I know, who as it turns out, had blown it out of proportion. I guess my pessimism got the best of me.
I myself did not support the recent cub ban. Not out of someone misguided belief it will somehow destroy the site, but because it reeks of a precedent I'd rather not have happened. As I said in that previous journal, I had mentioned to others that Sonic porn would most likely be next because it sits at the top of a slippery slope.
Canonically most of the characters are underage, and therefore against the rules. The proposed sollution is to "age them up", so they are no longer against the rules. There are two problems with that though;
1. I wont speak for others, but I personally, will always favor Sonic characters drawn -properly- over them being converted into a body type that can actually be aged up. When both are on offer, I'll take both, but if I'm put in a position to choose one or the other, I'll take them drawn properly every day of the week. If I have to go to another site for that, I will. It shouldn't be hard to figure out why that matters.
2. Subjective judgement. Aging sonic characters up makes them acceptable under the rules. You can -claim- "intent", but what it actually falls to is appearance, because they can't -fairly- judge intent. This in turn can be applied to any character who's appearance makes them appear underage, against the artist in question. Some artists draw characters in a way that makes them seem young regardless of their intended age, some characters simply have features and charactoristics that make them seem young.
I am yet to hear how exactly the judgement falls on original species as well, for that matter.

No, I'm not jumping ship. I've simply setup an InkBunny account to continue following (or stalking) folks who moved there for one reason or another. I have posted nothing there yet, and for that matter, haven't even decided what I will post there. Decisiveness is not my superpower at this hour of the morning.

Kaisura Project Status
Posted 15 years agoOn an entirely different note to the previous journal.
The majority of the information is written. There are still some gaps, and topics that probably need a little polishing. I have it split into individual files for organizational purposes but if condensed into a single file it comes out at over 40 pages of 10pt text. I think I may have overdone it a bit.
The majority of the illustrations to go with the information have not been done. There isn't really much I feel the need to say on that subject, Furball has other things that need to be done besides my project, it's as simple as that.
The website is far from a presentable state. Unfortunately, the work on it falls to a single individual, and that individual has other responsibilities and a tight schedule simultaneously. Progress will be forthcoming, but not prompt.
I am currently musing over alternative forms of presentation for the project until the site is completed. At the moment my only considerations are a PDF Document, or a Flash Document, the latter of which is more likely to be an application type Flash, and neither of which are compatible with this website.
I dislike PDF's and would rather not resort to that. I'm more inclined to go with the Flash approach but would need to contract someone to produce it, which carries its own complications.
Someone has suggested to me that I break it down into smaller pieces and compose it into the form of a series of images. To my mind however that would only work for the topics that will have illustrations, and requires the illustrations to be done first.
I'm open to suggestions for the time being.

The hell?
Posted 15 years agoNo, I'm not dead. I've been busy, as would be apparent to most with common sense. The kaisura project hasnt been shelved or anything, I've just been busy with other things besides it. So, worry not, if you are one of the people who are interested to see it, it's still coming, just taking longer than I would like.
Also, I do apologize that I havent posted anything in -ages- now. I don't post things just for the sake of posting them, I rarely post anything without a valid point, and as such, a lot doesn't get posted ... if that makes any sense. There are some pieces in the works that will be going up in the near future, though you'll likely see them in Furball's gallery before mine.
Now, on the subject of the AUP change ...
Now, forgive me for the /bandwagon, but if I laugh any harder, I think I'll be injured. Torture, Rape, Vore, Scat, Watersports, Guro, Shitting Dicknipples, Anal Vore ... if you like - let alone draw - these things, you have absolutely zero grounds to applaud, let alone celebrate, the banning of Cub Porn from this site. You do not hold the moral high-ground. Your fetish is not more socially acceptable. Nor is your fetish somehow more legitimate.
And are you -really- so stupid, that you don't see you're next?
The alertism that led FA's AD supporter to make the stipulation cub porn had to go or they'd withdraw their support stems from recent global increase in the severity of child protection laws and their ability to be applied to the internet and non-photographic mediums (illustration).
Do you -really- believe they wont decide sexual crime, such as rape and murder involving sexual abuse wont become their next target? It's just as much a real life problem, and it has an illustrated fetish counterpart. You will not fly under the radar forever.
Personally, I understand why FA has to make this change. I may not agree with it, nor like it, but that doesn't mean it's any less relevant or fair.
But you people dancing around celebrating it, on a furry porn website? When you're done tweezering that shallow nub between your legs over pictures of furs shitting on each other, filling diapers, eating each other, comitting rape, and mutilating each other for sexual gratification, I suggest you stop and think - however alien the concept must be to you - about how long you have yourself before your fetish is on the block.

Kaisura Project Community Site Blurb
Posted 15 years agoI'm going to refer to the site as the KPCS from now on for simplicity. If you find yourself wondering what the KPCS is, you didn't read this journal.
Incidentally, I will be using the term "update" when there's some tangible news to pass on, and blurb when it's more along the lines of me just thinking out loud. This is the latter.
I'm currently agonizing over the layout of the site. At this present moment there is no determined visual style to which it adheres to, more of an "idea" of a layout it was assembled to previously. More than likely when this particular issue is worked out, the first iteration of the website will actually go up and be browsable.
On a similar vein, I though it might be productive to mention that the whole website wont be going up at once. It's effectively going to go up in "stages", with each stage adding to the last until all of the intended content/functionality is online.
I'll provide details on each stage when it becomes pertinent, and aim to do so prior to it going online so people know what's coming.
PS: erects

[Erects a Sign] "Construction in Progress"
Posted 15 years agoThe Kaisura website is back in construction. It's being redesigned in the process, expanding beyond its original scope. Originally the website was going to be explicitly for hosting the information; the new version will still do that, but also feature an image gallery (including a fanart section), forums, and probably a webchat.
There may also be some other bits to it, I havent concreted the possibilities just yet.
The most significant change however is that the Kaisura-centric side of it will only be one part of a larger website. I wont go into too much detail yet as it's still largely an on-paper project thus far.
I will be putting previews of artwork that will be used in the Kaisura site up here for people to check out in the meantime.
On a related but otherwise separate note, I would like to reiterate something. If you want/would like/are interested in a comission using Dev, I am not the person to ask, Furball is. She does the comissions, and the authority to yes or no them on my behalf.
If, however, you are looking to make a Kaisura of your own, Furball is NOT the person to ask; I am. I'm getting tired of people asking her instead because she's more "approachable", and sick of people who ask her to ask FOR them. If you can't strum up the basic courtesy to speak to me yourself, you have no warrant asking in the first place. This is not targeted at anyone in particular, just a general statement.
PS: As a result of people attempting to add me to their messengers without messaging me first, and other generally unacceptable behaviors, I'm reserving my messenger details to on-request-only. This is not to say I wont give them out; just ask me for them instead.

Updates
Posted 15 years agoThere are a handful of pictures in the works right now. How many of these will be posted or how promptly I can not say at this moment, though.
Some small updates to Lilly and Devons' appearances have been made. Updated referrence sheets will go up when I get around to them; images already featuring these updates will probably appear first.
On the subject of the nipplefucking picture posted by my love Furball recently, I just wanted to make this statement;
Nipplefucking is not actually one of my kinks. I actually have no particular opinion of it. I can't say for sure if there will be any more like it, I don't think I'll be planning any of them myself if there are. That said, if you do happen to be looking for more nipplefucking images of Devon, you could always try comissioning Furball.
On the subject of comissions, I've had a few queries on what exactly I (and thus by extension) Furball will accept as a comission featuring Devon, so I've put together a list of things that are okay:
* One on One featuring a male, female, herm, dickgirl or cuntboy character
* Threesome images featuring Devon and any combination of genders
* An Orgy featuring Devon with any number of characters and combination of genders
* Vaginal, Anal, Oral, paizuri, tribadism, or similar everyday flavors of sexual activity
* Reversal; Devon penetrating or receiving oral from a male and so forth
* Beastiality/Non-Anthro/Feral, but keep in mind there is no feral form of Devon
* Humans (including similar, ie; Elves) are fine
* Size-Play, beit with Devon as the larger, or smaller involved. This can be taken pretty far, as per Devon's design
* Chubby/Fat Furs are fine
Special Cases
* Cub is okay, but be reasonable. Devon is seven-feet two-inches tall and weighs a little over 700 pounds. Reality isn't the best friend of furry, and I happen to quite like cub stuff myself, but even I have limits of reasonability.
* Inflation is not generally something I'm okay with. I approve of cum-inflation, but anything beyond that, especially baloon inflation, isn't happening. period.
* Pregnancy is something I'd rather avoid. I will never okay a comission that involves Devon being pregnant. I might consider Devon 'with' someone who is pregnant depending on who asks.
* Rape is another conditional thing, and really depends how it's intended. If it's not violent, I might consider it, but I wont make any promises.
Things that absalutely will not be accepted, ever.
* Watersports.
* Scat.
* Gore.
* Anything that is a form, variation, or derivative of the above.
Please note that ALL of this is only MY guidelines. Comissions are also subject to Furball's own individual acceptance.
PS: I don't particular care what anyone else thinks about the range of things I'm willing to have Devon appear in and its reflection on my own tastes. ^_^

Character Meme
Posted 15 years agoHere’s how it works. Pick one character you have, and answer the following questions as they would. REALLY get into their heads.
0. Name of character and picture if possible.
Devon Arlequis
1. What is your sexual preference?

Requests and comissions
Posted 15 years agoIt occurs to me I haven't really said much on this subject.
It's really this simple though; contact Furball.
Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "but she's your spouse!". I'm not about to sit here and explain to you the detailed and complex nature of Fur's philosophies, but the short and simple version of it is, you'd be amazed what she's willing to draw when it comes to Dev.
As long as it's not scat, watersports, BDSM, or gore, chances are whatever you're thinking is perfectly fine.

Interesting trend
Posted 16 years agoI've noticed a significantly higher ratio of the artwork appearing in my submissions list is actually not pornographic, and even in cases tasteful erotica. Naturally there are artists I watch who tend to do only this type of work, as my tastes tend to be rather refined, for a person as ill-minded as I am, but I'm still impressed by this recent trend of artists who were doing almost nothing but porn now seeming to move out into more intellectually and creatively engaging ventures.
Of course, I still enjoy the steady flow of porn. I don't think anyone with an amount of honesty to their name could claim otherwise, frankly. But it's nice to have something that actually resembles a balance.
And yes, I am aware that for quite some time already, the majority of artwork on this site 'was' below an adult rating already. The thing is, most of that art was coming from individuals who rarely -do- adult work, and now individuals who previously didn't are contributing significantly to it as well.
I'm an old battleaxe of the furry world; this is refreshing to me.

Augh
Posted 16 years agoHow is it that I always manage to let myself care so much about the most selfish, cowardly, dishonest people I encounter?
It's stupidity. It must be. Augh -_-

Posted 16 years agoA few tips.
If you didn't ask my permission (directly or through Furball), you've made one without permission; simple as that. If I or Furball don't reply to your request to make one, and you simply presume that means yes, then you've made one, without permission. It's that simple.
Now at the end of the day I can't stop anybody making one without permission, nor would I bother to expend the energy trying. But I do take a certain amount of entertainment from the idea; because if you didn't get direct permission through contact with me, you don't have the information to make one right, so whatever you created - it's just a ripoff.
If I have to, I will simply publish a static list of individuals who actually have permission, against which ripoffs can be compared and exposed. I stop short of that right now purely because I'm not setting out to be a bitch about this.

Amusing, if nothing else lol
Posted 16 years agoI imagine everyone's going to be throwing around journals about vore being #1 on the search list. I'm actually not surprised by it, frankly - simply amused.
Still. Diapers being so high on that list...yeah, reminded me why I participate in this fandom from a distance lol

AUP changes...
Posted 16 years agoDon't affect me in the slightest. Frankly.
A few of the artists I watch (those who render rather than draw) are, however. This is disappointing. Though I find it perhaps more disappointing how quickly and easily they conclude the AUP change rules them out, since that would imply the models they use had always been relatively unmodified.
I can see the rationality behind the changes, though I'm not terribly convinced it was necessary. The unusual part for me is that, unlike many (if not all) previous "major" site policy changes so far, almost no one is complaining/whining/crying/emoing/riding around on a drama lama shouting warcries.
That in itself is refreshing, since the fandom could do with a serious bleeding out of excess tears. It is slightly concerning however, as I'm not seeing much in the way of intelligent discussion over the change taking place, or seemingly any of the artists affected by it resisting the change - or getting any support from their watchers.
It's all very sterile.
