On the Matter of Life:
Life. Is Complicated. And Simple.
As for the latter, it is simply to live for what makes you happy, be it programming a script to make a thing do something amazing, or painting images that inspire others. There are infinite forms of happiness, find yours and pursue it.
As for the former, it does get complicated. Only through asking questions can you wade the unknown and swim through a sea of lies to find the answers you seek. They may not always be the answer you had hoped for, but they will be true.
I swear, if you ever in your life stop asking questions, you need to re-evaluate your life. It doesn’t matter if people laugh at you, there is only one way to learn what you don’t know. And ignorance is not always bliss.
Money is a requirement in the society we live in. As much as I despise it’s existence, we all need it to handle our most basic of life’s needs (unless you don’t live in a developed region that has modern tech and whatnot). Yes, Money WILL solve all our basic needs of life: food, water, shelter, and healthcare. Too bad the 1% can’t see past the gates of their mansions to spread that wealth to those that truly need it.
Money will not however, solve any of our other needs: friends, education, love, and other things that make us feel true happiness. For that we must persue our goals in our own ways. Meeting new people and parting ways with old friends when life takes us where we want to go. Bear in mind that the right path is rarely the easy one, but it WILL be the more rewarding one.
On the Matter of Love:
I have not been loved. But I know what love is not.
Love is beautiful, love is everywhere, even in the most unlikely of places. I find it difficult to explain what love means to me, but I’ll give it a shot.
Love is the emotional bond that keeps friends and lovers together long after their paths may have separated. It can cut us to the core, but it can heal us better than any medicine ever could hope too.
I could tell you that all the cliché courtship rituals society has taught us would make for a good ‘date’. Going to the movies. Going to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Bringing flowers to brighten your day. Or just giving you a kiss on the way out the door in the morning. While these are effective and meaningful ways to show affection, they are often the least memorable. It’s often the little things, the things that set us apart from the crowd that make the strongest memories.
Something as simple as a camping trip together. A horseback riding adventure one afternoon. Or a simple phrase that meant the world to her in an unexpected way that will remain with her for the rest of her life. For all the things we are given in our life, it’s the companionship of others that keeps us together.
I can’t say I know how to love, but I will learn it as time marches on. I have learned much in my life, and I shall never stop learning so long as I live. I will teach you what I can and we’ll share our thoughts, dislikes, and passions.
I’ve had a few relationships, and while I still talk to my past relations on occasion, our relationships haven’t stood the test of time. Most likely due to a distance factor. A long-distance relationship will not work with me or most individuals out there. That’s not to say that a relationship can’t start that way. We cannot truly know each other without living together for some time, seeing each other at their best and their worst. If we can’t get along at both ends of the spectrum, even if it’s only after cooling off from a heated discussion, then the long-run won’t be much better either.
Only time can form a bond that cannot be broken. ‘Love at first sight’ might be a thing, I do not believe it is nearly as common as we’d like to hope. A courtship is built on shared experiences and truthful communication. I know ‘compromise’ can seem like a taboo at times, but all things clash and then resolve to coexist in one form or another. Even the waves of the ocean as they bombard the cliffs of mountains have agreed to share the world they exist in.
My preference for a mate would be an intelligent female dragoness. Simple, but hard to find (and a not-taken dragoness at that). I know you’re out there somewhere. And yes, natural born female. As much as I appreciate the multitudinous array of individuals we have in the world, this is my desire. Beyond that, I’m open to scalies, then most furs and some others. But in any case, we’ll have to see how compatible we are to begin with. A sense of sanity must be maintained. There’s some,… interesting,… folks out there o.O.
I am still young, and the years ahead of me are many, let us share them together.
On the Matter of Lust: [Warning, explicit! (also highly generalized)]
The desire to join with another is the most intimate and rewarding experiences we can share. It is the most primal instinct that binds us together, and creates the deepest rewards.
For in the act of a truly rewarding mateship, we share our bare souls with our partner. No, lies, no other beings to speak of. Only thy self and thy partner. It is only the pleasure of the other we seek to fulfill.
As for myself, I have my preferences, albeit time is passing me by at this point in my life, and no creature can wait forever. I desire a dragoness, intelligent, and as we’d all like, beautiful in her own unique way.
I’m generally still a typical male that would eventually like to ‘get in your pants’, But I ain’t touch’n shit without consent. And that’s only after we’ve gotten to know each other A LOT better than the few words that fill this page.
My passion for her would be no less than primal and focused. My desires are for her desire. I want to make her feel every curve of her body as I draw my claws across every scale and plate of her form. Know the shape of every spine and horn. Drawing no assumptions from the beauty before me, and know that she would want for no other to call her mate than myself.
I would have no greater satisfaction than to behold the forbidden fruit that drives our courtship, but that would only be the beginning of what I would share with her. I would continue my caress to the deepest reaches I could access, and feel her pulse from within as our lust grows deeper with every motion I make.
And when it becomes apparent that we’re ready to slide things along, only a moments respite would be afforded before our tails entwine and I overtake her form, passing over her mounds I’d steel a taste and a tease before dragging my tongue along the nape of her neck to embrace her in a passionate kiss.
With our bodies fully entwined, the pulse between us finds it’s mark and dives in to fulfill its purpose. And it does this until the grip between our forms becomes a lock and a key, bound together in bliss. Our pulses become one and new life is made within. Ecstasy is the only thought that fills our minds as we feel the deepest primal desire fulfilled.
The deed done, there would be only fire to breath into the night as time stands still. Our embrace is deeper than any could imagine. Holding her tight and feeling her heartbeat in tune with my own is the greatest comfort I could imagine.
Breathing heavily, I stare into her eyes and see her lust reflected back from within my own, knowing she is as satisfied as I now am. After some time, our bodies reluctantly part and the world around us must be attended to. Our mark on each other would remain for some time to come. I think we should share this experience again soon.

Shitty First Sketches.

Inspired by ANNE LAMOTT, “SHITTY FIRST DRAFTS” (originally read this full story in my English course in college recently) and a recent post i saw on twitter (that i can't find again.)
I HATE criticizing an artist after the first sketch I receive. I feel like i'm insulting their creative ability. I commission them, fully well knowing they do excellent work. There's plenty of proof to this statement in their gallery. I've long tried to hold on to this belief and only name a few of the more glaring issues I notice in the first sketch I’ve received. And so far... It has only gotten me most of what I wanted. The end product I'm happy with, after all, I paid for it. And they put their time and effort into completing it. So why not praise the final product? It is final.
But what's done is done.
Now to that 'shitty first draft' I mentioned in the title of this. The referenced article may be directly related to writing, but it holds no less truth to an artist. The visual arts are just as much ART as the literary arts! (as well as many other names for works of toil these days) Let that first draft you receive (or draw, as any artist knows) be a crappy, shitty, basic-shape idea. And may that first response rip it a new one. This IS the stage at which you want as many imperfections fixed as possible (within reason). The first reply should convey your corrective intent to the image being created, especially if the initial idea phase didn't seem to quite capture what you see before you at this point. That's not to say you can repeat this process forever.
The second sketch should be 90-95% exactly what you're looking for come the final image. Let's face it, 100% will never happen, that is reserved for our own individual minds. (Wouldn't it be great if we could all draw like pros?) There should only be a few minor corrections at this point, no changing of the whole thing because you suddenly don't like it. You had this idea in the first place, carry through with it, or you shouldn't have initiated the creative process with your artist of choice. Finalize the sketch and move on to the next stages.
It's a shitty first sketch, why did you expect? a masterpiece?
That comes soon!
On to coloring. Now that the shapes have been committed to and you've chosen to continue with the fancy coloring bits, that's no reason to let the next stages continue unhindered. A simple character may be able to seemingly skip this phase and move on to the next or final phase, but every character needs attention, some just need a little more. The more complex a character, the more details that various artists may glaze over or not notice. This is a critical point in the sketch phase as well! But the sketch is only a shape, a physical shape. The details of color present their own conceptions to be interpreted. A basic coloring-in of the character or image should be done, in either a simple rough version or, some go so far as to make a nearly finalized colored version at this point. This choice often depends on the artist's style and process.
Review, Review, Review! Take your time looking over the image, you could even go do something else for a while and come back with fresh eyes. Complexities must be mulled over, not made rashly corrected, or missed until later. Send only one reply to each stage with as much constructive criticism (fixes, in layman's terms) as you can find. And keep a list of things you find often need correcting! I cannot count the number of times I have gone back to my own list of things to check for at various stages. And artists, if your client has a list of common mistakes or things to be wary of for that character, READ IT. It will help you just as much as the character's owner. After all, the commissioning process is a collaboration, both of you help each-other learn new things.
A note about ‘redlining’; I've seen a few folks that dislike this practice, but it can often convey an idea much more accurately than writing can. Language isn't perfect, especially if you're working with someone that speaks a different language than you. Google translate is not your friend, Google can't translate an idea, only the words you entered. Even if you both speak the same language, that's still no guarantee. Now, this is not a licence to just go about drawing all over someone else's hard work, it's meant only to be used if necessary to convey a specific idea you just can't seem to find the words for. (applies to both sketch and coloring stages)
Now that you've got all the corrections and clarifications out of the way, you should have no less than three (but I would expect more than that) Work-In-Progress stages/images behind you and a final image underway. And now is the time where you can start to admire the progress that has been made. Oh yes, oogle it! It should be 99-100% complete, with no more fixes to be made. If you find something at this point, and it's not something easily remedied, It's likely long past the point of no return. No doubt, ask the artist if it can be corrected, but you may just have to live with it. Make those last tiny fixes if any remain, and then do what you must to enjoy the completed work of beauty you have just created or commissioned!
Now the not-so fun part, legal hoo-ha.. For good god's sake, CREDIT THE ARTIST, tag them, link their page or the original post by them, something that can be uniquely used to identify the creator of that beautiful work of art. After all, they worked for hours on it, sweat, tears, and perhaps even broken pencils went into that. I say unique tag or link because there are so many of us out there, a search for someone named 'blue' will return thousands, if not millions of results if i was to go look for the artist or even the character. Speaking of which, CREDIT YOUR CLIENT &/or CHARACTER OWNER as well! sharing is caring, we all look for what we like by way of random connections!
Words of warning:
+Ask if the character in question belongs to the commissioner. check their own gallery for more of their character (typically posted over many years), Art theft and character theft has been rampant the current past, and many are simply younger individuals that don't know any better yet. Politely inform them about this if they were unaware. If they decide to be a child about it, let them, they will grow up one day. Even so, there will always be new characters to create!
+There’s always ‘dicks’ out there. If you can’t get along with them, Move on. End of story.
Words of advice:
+Have a reference sheet. That said, a reference sheet isn't always required. If you don't have one, there are artists that will work with a description and help you create your character. You gotta start somewhere! A ref sheet or even a simple drawing or rendering of your character will help most artists visualize your character. But be warned, if your character is anywhere near as complex as mine is, you'll need that ref sheet, it's an invaluable tool that you'll refine over the years to more accurately convey your character's many little details. I've had several ref sheets made over the years to better depict a base-image of my character as it has developed, adding things that are most commonly misrepresented. Yes, a complex ref sheet is a fair price to pay, but it's value in the long run is well worth it. :)
+Have a Price sheet (artists), or a list, description of generalized prices. This avoids a number of troubles: a. Constant messages asking for prices. b. Helps everyone who finds your page know what the price range you’re working in (affordability, not everyone’s made of money) c. there are various other reasons i can’t think of at the moment.
+Artists: Watermarks... Don’t put big watermarks across the whole image, that ruins the viewer’s experience. Deviantart and many stock photo sites do this, and it is terrible. BUT DO mark that image with your signature or stamp in a creative location within the image where it won’t be easily removed. (thieves like to crop things when it’s easy) Plus, it also identifies you uniquely as the creator of the image and can be easily (I’d hope) and uniquely identified.
+Ask questions! ask all the questions! make a list of the questions you want to ask every time you speak with a potential customer/artist. it may be in their Terms-Of-Service if they have one, but it's always good to ask!
+Don’t be a dick. Classic advice, always applies. You are working together, not against each other. We are a community, a family.

YOU NEED TO ADD KEYWORDS TO YOUR SUBMISSIONS IN ORDER FOR THEM TO COME UP IN SEARCH RESULTS.
This is the same as 'tagging' on other sites.
add the character/username and the species for a start. :)
and add as many more as you'd like and can fit within the character limit of the box.

this means you'll get entirely different results if you search for "Tail" vs "Tails"

-No screen/touch pen/calibration (every touch/pen device I’ve ever had, has had calibration tool/setting. what if the calibration degrades, OR if a user's particular habits warrant a different calibration from the standard!?)
-Missing silent/vibrate/ring mode button on lock screen (This feature is a MUST!!!!!!!)
-option/ability to have 5 icons wide and tall, I was expecting to be able to have a 5x5 grid on a larger screen (I realize this may conflict with the small-screen-mode; but I don't use that)
-I probably would have used the USB3.0 port if they had kept it in this model. (Not overly concerned about this feature)
-Ability to customize the quick-settings buttons upon screen-drag-down (Wi-Fi, BT, Screen Rotation, etc...)
-Flipboard home screen sucks. Original app is better. (Have used in past)
-There were a few apps that either came with the device, or somehow managed to download themselves when I mass-downloaded most of my old apps (and these apps I’ve never heard of before: something called cookie story or w/e, removed the offending app)
-I find it odd that the pen inserts in the bottom of the device. Common thought is to pull it out from the top.
-fingerprint scanner... ugg... so... cheep... Needs to support ALL TEN FINGERS! (Also supporting sideways swiping for all ten fingers would be a bonus)
-!? I checked for updates and my apps list that I had sorted with folders has magically UN-SORTED ITSELF!? All apps that were in folders (90% of them, as 99% were in folders) are now out of their folders. –BUG FIX

Mixed Feelings:
-Another app store? SAMSUNG S Suggest - da hell is the app to add to home screen? I do not want the widget, which I don't recognize in the widgets list. (Ghost thing? seems to not exist in the apps list anywhere)

+Folders are a bonus (I’ve seen this before in a different manner) but why can't I have nested-folders/sub-folders? (To at least a second level deep)
-option to make a folder on the home screen mirror the (same) folder in the apps list
-+ I find this unusual: why is the main home screen not in the middle of all the other home screens? (And why can't I change/customize this?)
-+ Verizon's Message+ app is definitely a change from the old text messaging service I’m used to, but it looks promising and a good design

*Waterproof-ness ; yeah, didn't buy it for waterproof-ness, and assume it's not. Not testing this. Though I may spray it (someday) with a spray-on water-proofing stuff I saw (yes, this is a real thing) (also assume this may void a warranty?)

*One of my old phones has a mini-HDMI port on it, while I’ve never used it. I wonder if it would be a nice thing to incorporate into future models.
*I wish older technology was better able to keep up with newer stuff better (we all wish)
*Power Button: every smart phone I’ve had has put that darn power button in a different place... [Top-left, Top-right, Right-top...] all different brands/models though.
*my old Motorola Droid Bionic had a sweet feature called: Smart actions: where you could set actions based on triggers; IE: Battery at 33% - turn off background data. [Multiple triggers and multiple actions could be added.] I believe this app could still be improved upon from when I used it. Would love a similar app on my Samsung Note 4!
*Why not put the battery percentage IN the battery on the notifications bar?
*Gap-gate issue? Yeah, ppl are nuts. Backing is quite secure.

I only attended one of the panels I had intended to go to (and you probably saw me there, 'In the Scale'), the Dragons Anonymous Meet. I meant to go to the scalies one and the military one, but for some reason, I missed them.. dangit..
See also: 'Awkward silence,' yeah, I'm not much of a conversation starter/holder unless it's something I'm more passionate about.
I wasn't quite myself (health wise) due to needing an IV at the hospital Monday.... apparently I had been neglecting my bananas and not ingesting enough food before/while working OUTSIDE in 100+ degree F index weather. which somehow managed to not let me sleep that night, in favor of pissing every hour on the hour for at least 12 hours, and seemed to never stop the rest of the week. (HYDRATE OR DIE -camelbak)
I had a Blast at AC even though I probably spent more time than necessary in the Dealers Den/Artist Alley. speaking of art... DID YOU SEE SIXTHLEAFCLOVER'S PIECE WITH KAGE, 2, TELEPHONE, SIXTH- AND LIKE 15 OTHER PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW; IN THE ART SHOW, IT'S WAS/IS SPECTACULARLY AWESOME!!!!! (sixth- 'll be posting it following the con, if she has already, idk, haven't checked my messages yet)

How do i Rotate a video?

(it's soo easy with an image.... da frack it so hard with a video?)

Query About artist not communicateing

I commissioned nathradas in mid 2013 for a 300$ piece of artwork. and i haven't gotten a reply back from her (direct, meaning notes or email) since the end of July.
I have read her journals explaining she has no more internet and how things aren't looking good and stuff.
no-where in her TOS does it say anything about a timeline for artwork (of any kind)
and all i've recieved is a sketch. (which looks promiseing, but i don't want the sketch, i want the completed image)
and it's obviously (as far as i know) too late to dispute this with paypal. (though i'd prefer to get the finished work)
she seems to be out of communication with (at least) FA.
Anyone have any recommendations?

Details: Inspired by this, but like i'm over looking the valley, watching the fauna/wildlife graze in the fields, same view/from behind. Sitting on a large warm rock (sunning myself while watching). Character is downwind of the wildlife grazing in the fields, and they haven't seen me yet, so they haven't run off. (fauna can be rough/blurred)

a wide flowing waterfall flows over a cliff into a deep pool below as a dragon steps through the vale of water with his wings half outstretched, interrupting the falls flow and flooding the cave entrance behind him some as the water begins to flow back to the edge of the cave, sitting above the water level of the pool, inches from the falls drop.

+instead of a regular fireball in my hand; a white fireball/energy orb (without a core shape, but basically circular) with some small lightning-like sparks coming from it.

REF: --Link2-- (with the relative consistency of this flame/fire in ball form)
+have my tongue flicking out some towards the energy orb as if tasting the wind [This part i'm not sure about in final draft]
+my gaze more off to the distance, (about above the 'fireball' itself) like the conjuring wasn't my direct focus/looking for a target off the picture. I realize this is tricky without pupils, just assume that where-ever my nose is pointing is the direction of sight.
+Background: forest (not too thick)

The red lines on the top of my head are a dull/faded red after the moment of Kal-Rec (adult-age), and please pay attention to the Photobucket details.. the side lines curl out of my nostrils.

+SIZE BIPED: SL's seawolf dragon biped height..[guessing 10-12ft]

+++Don't limit the design to the 'blocky' nature of the SL pictures, make it more natural. (mostly referring to the scale plating design of the Seawolf Avatar) feel free to play with it on the arms/legs, it does look funny to me in the pictures. head is still a nice length, and is NOT short.
+head/skull does not have to look exactly the same as avatar; as i'm not 'exactly sure' yet on the final shape of the head/nose, approval is needed on final look

¤ Likes: Flying over the lands and watching all the little things below. Hunting a spry and elusive catch. Watching the stars above the lands as they traverse the night sky. Having an intelligent conversation about something i understand. To name a few.
¤ Dislikes: Humanoids. I may tolerate them at times, but i will never like them. Spoiled food. Unnecessary conflict. Immature and Hot-headed creatures.
¤ Habitat: Prefers the natural woodlands and forests.

The red lines on the top of my head are a dull/faded red after the moment of Kal-Rec (adult-age), and please pay attention to the Photobucket details.. the side lines curl out of my nostrils.

+BUILD: Average. that is to say: not overly muscular, but not a twig either. has some muscle tone.

+++Don't limit the design to the 'blocky' nature of the SL pictures, make it more natural. (mostly referring to the scale plating design of the Seawolf Avatar) feel free to play with it on the arms/legs, it does look funny to me in the pictures. head is still a nice length, and is NOT short.
+head/skull does not have to look exactly the same as avatar; as i'm not 'exactly sure' yet on the final shape of the head/nose, approval is needed on final look

¤ Diet: Favorite food is hunting down a deer as it attempts to avoid me. but almost any of the fauna i come across is on the menu.
¤ Orientation: Upright, upside down, sideways, whatever position suits me at that moment. Oh wait, do you mean sexual orientation? Straight(period.)
¤ Likes: Flying over the lands and watching all the little things below. Hunting a spry and elusive catch. Watching the stars above the lands as they traverse the night sky. Having an intelligent conversation about something i understand. To name a few.
¤ Dislikes: Humanoids. I may tolerate them at times, but i will never like them. Spoiled food. Unnecessary conflict. Immature and Hot-headed creatures.
¤ Habitat: Prefers the natural woodlands and forests.
