where to find me because I am done here.
Posted 13 years agoI know most of my watchers don't really pay attention to me anymore, and of course that's my fault. I am generally not very productive in the winter, and honestly, FA has been a giant turn off for me. There are SO MANY great artists here, but I Had having to wade through all of the crazy stuff to find the gems, and I'm just not into most anthro art anymore. I can't deny the talent behind it, it's just not my thing anymore.
I still log in occasionally to see what everyone is up to, but my time on this site is drawing to a close. No hard feelings, I've just grown in another direction.
If you guys are still interesting in seeing what I am up to, here is where I am active:

You guys still rock, and I hope you don't take this as a "fuck you" because it totally isn't.

Papercut collabs
Posted 14 years agoYo dudes.
I have had pretty much zero inspiration lately, and in an effort to get out of this annoying funk, I would really love to do some collabs. I also don't want to keep lugging around all of this paper because all I seem to do is move around the city.
So, my question is, who would be interested in a collab? As I said, my inspiration has been zilch and if someone wanted to do a sketch I would be stoked to take that and cut it into something pretty.
So hit me up?

Scanner reccomendations
Posted 14 years agoSsssooo. Things are looking up. I found a room around Greenlake in Seattle that I can barely afford, but that's gonna be pretty much everything in Seattle. It's just a few blocks from my favorite fish and chips place, and duh I can go read my books by the lake. And pack picnic baskets. Gotta say, I'm pretty excited about that.
Now, with my tax return of course I need to pay rent and junk, but I also need a scanner. I need a scanner rull bad. But uh, I don't really know anything. I know I need something with a bed bigger than the standard letter size crap. And um. I guess good quality would totally rule. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not really gonna be around much
Posted 14 years agoMy life just exploded and I'm currently couch surfing until I find a place to live. Also, the scanner doesn't belong to me so I won't be updating for a while unless I go down to the college and pretend like I didn't just graduate from there last year.
Going to Portland!
Posted 15 years agoNext weekend the fiancé and I are going to Portland. I think it's just supposed to be a cute mini vacation, but I'm pretending it's for BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. I'm gonna be 25 in a few days, what is this?
So anyway, does anyone have any Portland recommendations? I know for sure that we're going to the zoo and the botanical gardens. I think we have food figured out for all three days, and Kimya Dawson is playing somewhere one night.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO HMMM?

Posted 15 years agoI've been getting an unusual amount of comments/favorites/watches recently and it's kinda FREAKIN' ME OUT MAN.
Was I featured somewhere or is everyone following the trail of the Owpple and the Schotchosaurus? The Scotchosaurus DOES have big feet... I suppose she would be rather easy to find.

Big pimpin'
Posted 15 years agoabout the kitty
Posted 15 years agoSo.. we had to put him to sleep last week. I'm really upset about it. He was kind of old, but he was my little baby boy, you know? I miss him a lot and sometimes I think I see him out of the corner of my eye. But, as I said, he was old. He had some tumors, and on Tuesday last week he just wasn't really handling life very well. Sooo I called in to work (losing a day of pay uuggghh) and we took him to the vet. They are such sweet people, they sent us a really sweet and personal sympathy card.
Anyhoodle. I'll try to do some art soon. I have a few things in the works.

My kitty's dying
Posted 15 years agoso don't expect anything from me for a while
I have one really sick cat.
Posted 15 years ago...and now my cat has a stroke. Took him to the vet on monday and called in to work. I'm thankful I work at a zoo and they all understand the importance of pets. He has hypertension (high blood pressure, basically) and that may have cause the stroke, but they aren't completely sure. We have to go to another vet who specializes in blood pressure.
His white blood cell count is really low. We're talking 200 when it should be 1200. They tested for feline leukemia, but that came back negative. She's pretty sure it isn't cancer because his blood came back pretty clean, except for the white blood cells and the pancreas. Oh yeah, there's something up with his pancreas. We're taking him in today to get more blod drawn so we can have more tests done.
This is all getting really expensive. Soon she will suggest an MRI, and unless I win the lottery we can't afford that. We might have to consider euthanizing him, and that just breaks my heart.
Oh yeah, and he's lost 1/3 of his body weight and we don't know why. Great. I'm glad I finally got a job so we could afford the vet. I'm very sad for him.
ANYWAY. Ummm commissions would be really appreciated or something. We got the speeding ticket taken care of, thank goodness. Mitch got paid for his first week of work, and we weren't expecting that.

$400 ticket and a plea for help
Posted 15 years agoSO. Mitch and I were traveling an hour and a half to get his PS3 fixed (a $50 fix that I guess didn't really work) and ended up getting a $400 speeding ticket on the way.
I'm not going to whine and complain, but I am going to ask for some help. Here's what you can do:
1. Buy one of my books on lulu.com.
2. Send me a note about buying a commission.
3. Buy a pendant/necklace on etsy.com.
4. Linking this journal.
As an added bonus, if you send a screenshot of your lulu receipt, I will make you an iBadge as a little thank you.
Maybe this journal should be longer, I don't know, but I am 100% frown right now. We went all the way up there to get the PS3 fixed and it didn't even work. It would have cost just as much to get an entirely new system, and it wouldn't have been as frustrating as getting a stupid ticket for speeding in a school zone when everyone else was going THE SAME SPEED.
Baahhh.

Thesis and Moving
Posted 15 years agoYEAAHH! I'm almost done with my thesis. The show opens next week on Friday, and all I have left are four small paper cut illustrations and I need to make a business card order. My books shipped from Lulu yesterday and I CAN'T WAIT to see them!
I am also moving. Bah! We're attempting to move this weekend, but I don't know how possible that will be. Next weekend is graduation, and the weekend after that is when my sister is moving out of here, and I'd rather not get in her way. Moving is so annoying.
I'm watching Star Trek and it has taken my about fifteen minutes to write this entry. Spock kills me! He gets better and better every episode.

LULU QUESTIONSSSSSSSssssssssssssss
Posted 15 years agoFor those of you who have used Lulu to publish things, I have a few questions!
The most important one is this: How long does it take for them to print and mail copies of your book? I need three hardcover and three paperback books by May 10th. I'm still making the art for the book.. aahh!
Should I request a proof? I probably should.. just to be certain...
Do they include endpage colors? I might just do that instead using the ones I created. It would look and feel a lot better.
Oh, I guess that's it. Okay, back the grind.

HEY YOU GUYS
Posted 15 years agoI'm incredibly busy with my thesis, which is why I have been so silent recently. I haven't been doing any personal art, and I feel like a butthead for not doing the few commissions I have left. Luckily everyone has been pretty understanding. When I finish all 30 spreads in my book, I think I may have time to make things. I also haven't been doing any commenting, or viewing uploads in general. I feel really bad, because I love and admire all of you, but JEEZE am I busy! I'm so glad the government is hand feeding me, because I just don't have the time for a job right now.
HI <3
oh, and just a reminder, I still have a bunch of necklaces up on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TwoEyedCyclops

Did/Does your parent have cancer?
Posted 16 years agoHey guys! For my thesis, I'm writing/illustrating a children's book about dealing with the death of a parent by cancer. It means a whole lot to me, but I need a lot of opinions! I wrote up some questions, and if you or someone you know lost a parent to cancer, I would appreciate a response. It can be anonymous, I won't ask you to tell me all of your feelings, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
How old were you when you found out your parent had cancer?
How long did your parent have cancer before he/she passed away?
How old were you when your parent died?
What did help/would have helped you prepare for their death?
Did/do you have someone to talk to about your parent?
What was the hardest part about dealing with cancer?
Do you worry that someone else you know may get cancer?
Has anything good happened because of the cancer?
How did you feel after they died? Relieved? Sad? Angry?
Please email responses to lei.faulkner@arts.cornish.edu. Thank you!

I need some serious HELP.
Posted 16 years agohttp://skribbles.deviantart.com/journal/14706862/
I need all the help I can get right now. I can't afford my credit card bills, so they shut off the card due to non-payment. The only money I have left in the world is $27, and that won't last long. I need so much help right now, it's not even funny. I can't even afford to relist items or add new items to my Etsy shop. Twenty cents can really add up.
So hey. I'm really desperate. If there are any originals in my gallery you want, throw out a price and we'll see what happens. If you want to commission me, please do. Anything. We could even barter for items I need.
Anything helps.

Still no job, I need help
Posted 16 years agoUgh okay. I really need your help. I was laid off from the zoo in October and we have somehow managed to scrape by, but it's starting to look really bad. I can't find a job, and I don't even have enough money to make my credit card payment this much. By the way, the credit card is almost maxed out too. Also, there's that rent to pay and stuff.
So anyway, if you guys have some leftover Christmas money and want some stuff, please hit me up. The paper cut stuff can be bargained a bit. I do a lot of different sizes and use different paper... so it really just depends.
Commission information can be found here:

Every journal entry I make is about money
Posted 16 years agoI owe my school $2,112 because my mother said she would do my FAFSA stuff, but it turns out she didn't get it done until a week before school started. I obviously can't pay the bill because I just got laid off, and, I haven't mentioned this here, but someone got my bank account info and stole $420, overdrafting my account a few times.
The school suggest I file for a leave of absence.
Halfway through the first semester of my senior year.
Why do things have to keep getting harder? Maybe I'll get rich in Vegas this weekend. Don't worry, I'm not paying for the trip.
Art is slow right now.

Holes in history is where you'll find me
Posted 16 years agoWHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE WAS SO GOOD. My schoolfellows were all "it was cute but not epic enough" to which I responded "quit being a grown-up."
Seriously though. I cried.

I just got laid off
Posted 16 years agoI need to fill out unemployment stuff ASAP. It's been a super rough week, and I don't know what I'm going to do for money. I still have some sitting in my paypal from the folks who helped me with Jessie's surgery (we still don't have enough for it), and I'm almost tempted to use it. But I will not. That money is not for me. I have two commissions I need to do, and those will probably also go toward Jessie's surgery.
Anyway. I could use some help. As always, I have necklaces up on my Etsy, and I can take on a few more commissions.

COMMISSION information and the dog
Posted 16 years agoAnother one about that dog. I have $127 to help pay for the family dog's surgery to remove cysts on her eyes and some bad teeth. That amount might sound great, but since the surgery is going to cost $1,000ish, it's... not that great. I would really love some help, here. I do work, but I can barely over my own expenses, and with school starting tomorrow (senior yeaarr), I had to cut my hours at work WAY back.
SO. Here is a list of what I offer for commissions. You can also check out my etsy, which really needs to be updated.

Someone draw some girls making out.
Posted 16 years agoSeriously. Do it.
UMMM not much going on here, school starts on Tuesday and I'm finally starting to look forward to it. We picked our spots in the Senior Studio yesterday, and I got this great seat next to a really good friend. Also, there is a window involved so I will most certainly be bringing a plant. The only problem is we have to bring our own shelving/storage, so I either have to buy something or condense all of the stuff I have at home. Ahh @_@ Buying something is out of the question (unless I find a GREAT garage sale) sooo I will have to squosh everything at home. Oh well.
BUMBERSHOOT THIS WEEKEND! I'm so excited! My sister got everyone tickets in December for half price, and we're going all three days. For those of you who are not from Seattle, Bumbershoot is an annual music and arts festival. I have gone every year since my parents started taking my twin and I (maybe we missed a year before dad died, I donno), and I have every intention of going every year until I die. Maybe that's a bit extreme. I like to do a lot of my Christmas shopping there 8)
I'm also going to PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) today, which... I don't really want to do. But Mitch was so excited about them releasing 1,000 more tickets, I just.. agreed to go with him. I told him not to expect me to be too interested and excited :P
Alright, enough of this drabble! Draw some girls!
