Also, I am finally going to re-open for sculpture commissions! I will be taking new commissions starting on Tuesday, February 17th. These commissions will be started on in early March. Slots will be very limited, so if you are interested in a commission, I highly recommend getting a quote in now. I am currently in the process of making some changes to my work schedule which should benefit getting more sculpting time in. Some major things have come up with my current vet clinic job, but that is a story for another time.

I totally forgot to announce this here, but I am officially going to be a dealer at Megaplex this year! :D After years of selling in the artist Alley, I finally decided to grab myself a dealer's table this year. I will be sharing it with the awesome  robo-shark, and I am very excited!

I hope to have plenty of new sculptures and figurines to sell. I have plans for several new resin casts, and possibly some ooak sculptures as well! Anyone who is planning on attending, I would love to hear your input on what you might like to see available at the con.

Hello all!

I sincerely apologize for my inactivity here. I have been having a really hard time uploading finished pieces, I guess I just started to lose motivation to photograph, edit and go through all the work of posting to my gallery sites. I have finally prepared a few pieces from the past several months that are ready to be uploaded, so I'll try to have those up soon.

Lets talk some about last year. I feel like it was kind of a rough year for me art-wise. I've felt very unfocused and not really sure what direction I wanted to take with my sculpting. Though I created some really cool pieces, and was definitely working on things a throughout the year, I felt less productive last year than any of my other years since I started sculpting. Sales-wise, I have definitely not done well, my Etsy shop had it's worst year probably since I opened it, and commissions were slower as well. I know some of this has to do with my decision to stop taking fan art commissions part way through the year, but I was surprised at how much of a hit that was. I also explored some ideas of my own, which have not been particularly successful. Which leads me to my next topic.

The Pupples. I had big plans for these guys, and I really was quite excited to share and create them. Unfortunately, the project has been a major flop, with very little interest. It is a bit heart wrenching to put your heart and soul into a project that no one else really wants, but it was a good learning experience at least. I did learn a lot about molding and casting, and I don't regret the choices I made. However, the current Pupple bases are going to be discontinued. I still have two unpainted bases that can be custom ordered in my shop(a lab and a corgi) as well as a few pre-painted Pupples. But after those are gone I will no longer be making any more from those molds. Am I abandoning the Pupple project completely? At this point I am not sure. But if I do revisit them, they will be quite a bit different. For now the project is on hold until further notice.

Now, that being said-I do want to continue to pursue some of my own ideas this year. Hopefully ones that will have more success than the Pupples. ;) I want to create some more unique resin casts, as well as some more OOAK sculptures like the Buttergi. I have been picking up a few extra hours at work, which I'm hoping will put less stress on trying to make money off my art, so I can focus on improving and trying new ideas. I also have several personal pieces I want to create, which I just haven't had time to do. I will be taking some more commissions in the future, but right now I really don't know when I will be able to open. I currently have a couple trades I need to finish, as well as a piece for a family member, and then I want to take some time work on some of my own ideas for a little bit. It probably won't be until February-March before I open for commissions again.

After making the Buttergi sculpture, I've been thinking about the possibility of doing more "adoptable sculptures". Basically adoptable character designs, but they also come with a full sculpture of the character. Much like the Buttergi, though I will probably make some that are less elaborate in terms of pose and such. What do you guys think, would there be any interest in more of these? If so, what type of designs/animals would you like to see? More Buttergis, other dogs, foxes or wolves, etc? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Had a really nice time at Megaplex this weekend. Got to see some old friends, and make some new ones! I did not do as well as I was hoping in the Artist Alley, but did make some connections and hopefully got some interest in custom sculptures. Overall the convention was great, with generally friendly con goers, and of course lots of fun fursuiters. ;) A HUGE thank you to anyone who stopped by my table yesterday! My one and only complaint was how the Artist Alley was run. I have been to Megaplex for the past four years, and every year I hope they will work on fixing up the AA, but it never seems to happen. It was very disorganized, and had absolutely no staff moderation that I saw. The tables are first come first serve, but are supposed to be used for artists only. However during my time in the AA, I witnessed multiple people using the tables to just hang out at and generally take up space with no intention to sell art. Maybe this doesn’t seem so terrible, except that there was very limited space as it was, and I saw many occasions where an actual artist was trying to find space to set up but were unable to due to the amount of other people just hanging around. Also the generally rude and inconsiderate behavior of several individuals was very off putting. For the most part the artists I shared space with were very lovely, so a little bit of staff intervention for the rude individuals would have made it a much nicer experience.

Also, why, why why do they continue to use round tables instead of traditional rectangular ones?? Those tables are terrible for setting up displays and being able to be seen by potential customers. I have heard complaints about the tables every year I go, but still I continue to find those blasted round tables in the AA every year!

Regardless, I absolutely plan on getting a dealer’s table next year, just to avoid all the stress of the artist alley.

I am opening up two slots for completely custom sculpted Pupple figurines! Normally the starting price for one of these would be $50, but these two slots will be $40 each. That's $10 off! Here are the details:

-Discounted offer will only be available through the weekend, or until slots are filled

-It can be any breed, with any type of markings and colors. You aren't limited to only domestic dogs, either. Any type of canine or even feline is okay! I may even be willing to do another type of animal, just let me know what you have in mind and I will tell you if it works.

-Price starts at $40. Extra details such as wings or accessories may be additional. Shipping is $4 within the US, and $12 international. I take payment through Paypal, and payment must be given in full up front before I can reserve your spot.

-I will begin work on your piece when I return from Megaplex, so the last week in July. Your Pupple with take around 4-6 weeks to complete.

-You will be kept updated and sent progress photos for approval throughout the process.

I apologize for the recent spam! I decided to get this gallery a bit up to date again. I still don't plan on being super active here, but I will try to post updates from time to time. :) If you want to stay more up to date with what I am working on, I still have all my other sites I am more active at on my profile page. ^^

I also wanted to mention that I will be attending Megaplex 2014 at the end of the month! This will be my fourth year going. :D I was hoping to get a dealer's table this year, but I totally dropped the ball on sign ups. I'm on the waiting list, but it is unlikely I will get a table at this point. So with that in mind, I will most likely be there on Saturday only(and maybe Sunday?), and will try to nab a spot in the artist's alley like I usually do. :)


I plan on having some pre-painted Pupples, and possibly some paint-your-own Pupples as well(anyone think there might be interest in that?). I will also have some of my wolf and fox bottle cap necklaces made up, a few Pokemon card glass tile necklaces, and a few other odds and ends from previous conventions.
