Lykos - Second Skin (and Patreon)
Posted 7 years agoWell, this is an exciting day! It's still not going as fast as I'd like, but my Patreon has helped make it far more possible to work on Lykos. Patrons get two months of early access to Lykos and exclusive stories, but the first Lykos chapter written in the new system has hit public release! I want to take a moment to thank all those patrons that made this, and everything really, possible.
In all of the internet, I feel like my readers here are some of the most amazing people. FA really feels like a home, and I love bringing people joy with the stories I create. Thank you all so much!

Patreon Soft Launch
Posted 7 years agoSo... I've been hesitant, considering, sitting on the fence for over a year on whether or not I should try the whole patreon thing.
My biggest hesitation was that my productivity is SO unpredictable... Sometimes I can churn out several stories, and other times I can't for weeks at a time. Over the last year I averaged something like three and a half stories a month, so that's not terrible. Still, I decided to set my patreon to 'per creation' so if I do not produce enough content for whatever reason, people will not be charged.
draegon1993 helped push me over the edge and I figured out some tiers and stuff. I figure this is the best way to ensure more Lykos because it'll afford me the time and freedom to work on it.
It's still a work in progress as I figure out the platform and how to be most equitable to my patrons... But I thought I'd let people know that it's out there.

Thank you all for your continued readership! You're all amazing, wonderful people!

Ghostbusters: Daybreak - For new and returning readers
Posted 7 years agoHello one and all! I am excited to announce the start of a new run of Ghostbuster stories. With luck, I've designed it as a jumping in point for readers that have not started "Ghostbusters: Regenesis" while still having enough connecting tissue for those continuing on to this after the end of the last series.
GB-Daybreak - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29309510
For those joining me for this new project, "Ghostbusters: Daybreak" features the exploits of a group of teenagers from Portland Oregon trying to strike back against the onslaught of paranormal activity flooding the city after most of the Ghostbuster teams from across the world have disappeared. The deck is stacked against them, and many of the ghosts have a penchant for corrupting and transforming humans.
For those carrying on from Regenesis, my goal is to give us a bit of a breather, to let things re-organize, to cleanse the pallate and work back towards answering the lingering questions from the last book. All will be told in time, but this gives us some exciting momentum, some new chances, and some reinvigorated adventure.
Thank you all for taking part in this passion project. Your readership, favorites, and comments really mean a lot. I couldn't have done it without your support. I owe a big shout out to
red-box,
draegon1993 and
draikoth for giving me momentum in this last stretch, but there are so many others I owe my thanks to as well. Thank you so much!

Long Term Commission List
Posted 7 years agoHello one and all. Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their ongoing readership and interest in my content. It means a lot that you've all stuck with me through the best and worst of times.
I also want to thank those that have commissioned me for their patience. The speed at which I am able to write is... variable, to be kind. That being said, looking at my commission list, I have had to do some reorganizing and some cleaning. Some ideas I thought would work originally aren't as likely to be something I can manage.
With that reorganization, below are the individuals that have secured current commission slots from me and I have a few open slots as well. Commission guidelines are below the waitlist:

* Payment will be due when your project is between 50-100% complete.
* All-at-once transformations are more likely to be chosen than slow tf

Death in the Family - Delays Pending.
Posted 7 years agoYesterday my grandmother passed away at the age of 95. She was one of the most unique people I ever knew. Not much of a people person, she always spoke her mind, but if creativity has a genetic component I'm sure I got it from her. She was my last remaining grandparent.
As such, there's going to be a delay in pending commissions and stories. I apologize to everyone affected.

Last "Lykos: First Bite" Publishing Update
Posted 7 years agoHey all! This'll be the last update about the publishing of my first Lykos book.
First of all, thank you so much to everyone that's purchased either the paperback or the kindle version! Your dedication means a lot! I hope you enjoyed the enhanced scenes and the new epilogue!
If anyone still wants to get it and you haven't yet, you can get it here:
Amazon print-by-demand Paperback: https://tinyurl.com/y7brlvzw
Kindle: https://tinyurl.com/y8prhfj4
(And if you buy the Paperbook, you get a $4 discount on the Kindle version)
Now here comes the part I was a bit antsy about. If you DID buy it already, I'd like to ask for some honest reviews. Just the truth. Whether you liked it, or things that could be improved. I mean, obviously good reviews will help the most, but I just want honesty. The feedback can help bring the book up in more searches and things, and open it up to a wider audience. I know, I hate to ask, I'm sorry... but thank you to anyone that wants to take the time to do it!
I have to say, it's nice having it right there in paperback form. The size, the texture, lol. Anyhow, I've harped about this enough. I hope you all have a great week!

Lykos Shared Universe Update
Posted 7 years agoHey all! Time for a news roundup!
After editing the first book of Lykos, it got my head in the zone to work on the second book and I've got two chapters posted so far. But that's not all, my co-editor for the first book has been inspired enough to post his first entry to the Lykos Shared Universe:
tarus1111 Lykos - Inner Instinct - Chapter 1: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/28278998/
If you want to catch up with the phenomenon that started it all, you can snag your copy at Amazon:
Paperback: https://tinyurl.com/y7brlvzw
Kindle: https://tinyurl.com/y8prhfj4
And, if you want to help support new chapters of Lykos being written, you can tip at http://ko-fi.com/leotodrius
I'm not quite ready to launch a Discord Server thingy for Lykos, but it is an idea I'm entertaining to answer questions for shared universe stuff. Until then, feel free to note me about such things.

"Lykos - First Bite" now available in Paperback and Kindle
Posted 7 years agoSupernatural adventure and romance is nothing new as a genre. We’ve seen the movies, we’ve read the books… But a few years ago I was thinking that I could bring my own unique twist to it. I’ve always had a fascination with transformation literature, and there hasn’t been enough representation for gay men in werewolf stories… so I got to work.
Lykos, my own take on a world of werewolves living secret lives, was enjoyed by many. Other authors took up the mantle and helped to craft a shared literary universe of parallel and interweaving stories.
I’m hoping that the release of "Lykos - First Bite" can fuel the inspiration of others once more, and the process has certainly inspired me. Going through, line by line, enhancing and polishing put me in the heart of the material. The original edition will still be available on FurAffinity and SoFurry, but the paperback and kindle versions have gone through several editing passes and feature enhanced scenes and two new epilogue scenes. Presenting for your reading pleasure, “Lykos: First Bite”

One of us, one of them, or not at all.
College has always been a time for change and growth, to discover one’s own identity. At Grand Mesa University in Echo Creek, Marco Iona will find his school has a lot to offer; a beautiful campus, state of the art facilities, a relaxing vista, and a bit of the supernatural.
After a chance encounter with a werewolf, Marco’s life is changed forever as he realizes he has joined their ranks. He discovers a hidden culture and a deep mythology he never knew existed. Navigating the changing social structure won’t be easy.
Lykos is a highly sensual, supernatural thrill ride with a rich range of characters and a well balanced lore. It is an exploration of a secret society, of the love that can blossom between male members of a werewolf pack, of transformation erotica and expansive world building. The plot may leave you guessing in all the right ways, with room for both scintillating sexuality and unexpectedly heartfelt moments.Lykos Update - The Road to Publishing and the Next Book
Posted 7 years agoHello all! I wanted to give you an update on the progress toward publishing Lykos.
I've completed going through chapters 1-16 for a line by line re-read and edit, touching up and polishing attributes. While I will not be posting the updated versions of chapters 1-15 here, I have updated the final chapter to reflect the current version. It's available at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15852621/
Instead of continuing on from there in the current book, chapter 16 will end "Lykos - First Bite" and new content will be a new book. I will post the new content on FA as I finish them in the coming months. What had been Chapters 17 and 18 have been moved to scraps for now. It became impossible to keep them for a variety of reasons, including discrepancies with the other chapters and my desire to keep the main Lykos story written by one author rather than as a collaborative work.
Long story short, wear your hard hats! There's some heavy construction going on around here!
As for publishing itself, with the new epilogue written and the edits complete, I just have to learn what I need to do to actually publish it. The formatting is going to be a bit annoying for sure, so anyone with experience on self-publishing please feel free to send me notes with advice if you wish to. Thank you all, I look forward to the next update!

A Lykos announcement.
Posted 7 years agoAfter recent discussions, considerations, reflections and contemplations... I've decided I'm going to take the plunge and self epublish the first book of Lykos.
I've made the account and set things up. I've dumped chapters 1-16 into a manuscript... but there's still a lot of work to do. I need to go through with a fine tooth comb to check for errors, and book one ends on a rather strange note, so I'm going to probably write a custom epilogue for this release.
Amazon publishing offers both kindle and paperback publishing, so there will be some options. I'll update here as I move forward in the process.
Thank you all for your ongoing and continued support! Also, any tips or tricks for going through this process would be appreciated!

The Future of Lykos
Posted 7 years agoHey all. I was talking with one of my friends about Lykos, and I was able to verbalize some of my thoughts and I thought since it's one of my most popular franchises, and one of the few that's completely original and not licensed stuff, I should take the conversation to the next level.
The first arc up to the eclipse seemed to go very well. It inspired several other authors in a shared universe sort of way, there was momentum, there was zeal. It wrapped up fairly alright. That in itself was an accomplishment because I'm terrible when it comes to ending long running series.
Then... I muddied the waters going on the next few chapters. I changed too many of the rules, the secret was out, I started co-writing it and any time you do that you're beholden to the schedule and availability of others. I wasn't quite happy with it, and then it fell into the super long hiatus.
Where the main story was left, it'd take a lot of work to extricate and get back on track. It would be far easier to do a sort of "Lykos: The New Class" sort of deal in echo creek.
To enable to afford me the time to do it, I'd probably do it as a crowd fund story and build the page length up that way so no one person had to shoulder the burden. But before it comes to that... I wanted to know what aspects the readers most miss about Lykos, what parts of the lore they liked the most, what questions they want answered, what they'd want to see in Echo Creek University life.
I look forward to your feedback!

Potential crowd-fund wolf story
Posted 7 years agoHey all! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a crowd-funded stand alone story.
A dollar or more from several people could bring life to the story, but before that part comes, we'd need a vote on which story to do! So here's the idea phase!
A high school werewolf story.
A high school werelion story
A lykos stand alone set before the revelation of wolves.
A lykos stand alone set after the revelation of wolves.
A lykos stand alone set in the sci-fi future.

Question about patreon, tips, etc.
Posted 7 years agoHey all! I'm exploring other ways to incentivize my writing, hopefully bringing about more content or at least keeping the stream steady. I'm currently working away on a batch of commissions I selected two weeks ago as well as a few side projects... But I wanted the feedback from my readers.
Is there any inventive program you support other artists for that you really like how it works? A tip jar? A patreon based on work produced, or a monthly patreon, or some other system? What have you seen work? What do you like?
EDIT Well, thanks to
saruk I'm off to a good start with my ko-fi tip jar! ( http://ko-fi.com/leotodrius ) But I'm still looking forward to more ideas!

We're having some structural problems with our house and work got even tougher so I haven't been able to be online much and haven't been able to write for a bit. I apologize, but I hope to get back to it as soon as I'm able.

Quest for transformation types induced by ghosts/demons
Posted 8 years agoHello again one and all! As you can no doubt tell, "Ghostbusters: Regenesis" has been on a roll. I'll be wrapping up the current plot arcs in chapter 30, then rebranding for a sequel series called "Ghostbusters: Daybreak."
As part of my process for getting ready, I'd like to hear everyone's ideas for things that civilians and Ghostbusters alike could encounter or be turned into. Here's my running list I have so far:
Awakened Nature Spirit
Shadow ghost - infects shadows, changes them, then the humans follow suit.
Genie/Djinn
Slime Clones
Mermen
Spider/Mantis/Scorpion/Insect
Devolution ghost - ancient, finally released. Restores humans to their proper state, ranging from monkeys to gorillas to cavemen.
Ghosts changing humans piece by piece at night in their bedrooms.
Piercing obsessed ghost/demon
Male Sirens
Gluttony/weight gain inducing ghost
Clingy ghost - "Please let me in..."

Thoughts on masculinization virus
Posted 8 years agoIf there was a masculinization virus outbreak and the tone of the story was sort of like zombie outbreak themes...
1) What would you want the 'survivors' to start like?
2) Would the manly men be sentient? drooling man Zombies? Exaggerations of former selves?
3) What tropes, themes, or such would you want to see?

Ghostbusters: Regenesis reader questions
Posted 8 years agoHey all! As I wrap up the current arc of GB:R, I was wanting to ask the readership a question:
Of all the people that have been transformed, changed, or altered by ghosts in the last 27 chapters, who do you think most resents being turned back by the Ghostbusters? Who would hold a grudge? Who wishes they were still altered?

Apology for Typos and Errors
Posted 8 years agoHello all, random aside...
I want to apologize for the frequency of typos and errors in my stories.
As some of you know, I write with my eyes closed so I can visualize the story in my mind and let it flow onto the page. It's a very fun process, but it's also sloppy when it comes to the writing. Every single time I open up one of my old stories to review or research or enjoy, I find errors that I missed before.
A particularly grievous number of errors popped up in Chapter 12 of my Ghostbusters series, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7610939, which then revealed that the chapters around that era lack the FA formatting I've come to be accustomed to. So I guess I'll be trying to slog through that and update them sometime, lol.
I'm working on some longer commissions, which results in the quiet between posts, and I haven't given up on some of my older micro-commissions. Sorry it's taking so long everyone!

Future Commission Poll #2
Posted 8 years agoThe first poll has been concluded. The winning idea of "The Freshman 50" was bull with udder balls! If anyone would like to select that commission for further development, send me a note and we can talk details.
The next idea for development is this:
In the Star Trek universe, what species TF would you find most compelling?

Future Commission Poll
Posted 8 years agoIf I were to do a "Freshman 50" weight gain and tf commission at some point in the future, should the tf type be:
*) Pig
*) Bull (ball udders)
*) Wolf (fat wolf on campus like in Lykos)
*) Human (focus on wg and masaculinity)
*) Demon
*) Other

Dodged a Patreon Bullet
Posted 8 years agoI never got around to setting up a Patreon, mostly because the amount of work I produce in a month can vary WILDLY. I just didn't think it was fair to people.
And then Patreon passed fees on to the donors. The move is killing the $1 donation tier, pissing off artists, and chasing away donors. I'm glad I didn't invest in it only to have it collapse beneath me.
So I want to take a moment to thank my lovely commissioners and the few tippers I've had for keeping the lights on old school!
