What a wild ride it's been. Since the last journal we've had our own home finally, I got married, we *might* be having a kid soon. A lot's going on! How have you all been? Really been finding my place in the world. Haven't been able to keep up with a lot of online life, but offline it's really dawning on me that the way things are is just what it's going to be for the rest of my life. Of course, things always have some flux, but I'm entirely an adult at this point, and it's up to me to shape how and where life goes. Experiencing these thoughts is both empowering and terrifying, having only ever thought of myself in terms of my utility to others.

Have you ever gotten bored with life? There's been so much going on the past few years that it felt like I hardly had time to catch my breath! Now though. Work's fallen into a lull, so much so that there's literally nothing to do. I'm not misusing that term, either. There's actually no work for us to do, it's just me and a few others sitting around, getting paid. I've got tons of little projects. I build gunpla (Gundam plastic models!) in my spare time. There's plenty of games in front of me to enjoy. I've killed my writer's block and have been churning out story after story, but. I just don't know. There's nothing to -do- that entertains or excites me anymore. It's all almost like a chore, or like I'm living my days on repeat. Has anyone else experienced this and managed to crawl out of it? What'd you do? What works for you?

Yes, I'm still alive! I don't know how. Lots of craziness this year, so in light of all the madness I figure the least weird thing would be for me to at least notate somewhere I'm still kicking. How's everyone else's life going?

So I got a gym membership today. It was actually really reasonable, and I'll be able to work out all day, everyday for like, the entire month of August. I'm gonna be focusing a lot on cardio, mainly with either a treadmill or elliptical. I was surprised at how awesome it was to be there. People were so friendly, the staff was actually helpful, and it feels great to get a work out and not either be stuck at home or out melting under the sun. Any of you kids like working out? (Do you even lift? 1v1 me kid.)

So I was listening to a bunch of UK rock from the 60s, and man. Some of that stuff just gets right into your brain and plays around with it. Lyrics are one thing, but then the feel of the music is right there with it, and when they go in two different directions it's just nuts. Oh, also, it's been a year since I faved anything, and even longer since I posted anything, so holy crap, that's not good either. Hopefully I'll fix that by taking more pictures of stuff and things or whatever. Oh, and if there's anything you -know- I've got, and I don't have a picture up on here, feel free to ask. Those of you who know me personally know I'm easily distracted.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFuuuuuu I. Love. King. Animal! Sound Garden's latest album has been an amazing listen. I know I'm a little behind the musical curve on all this, but it's still a great album. Volbeat's Beyond Hell Above Heaven and Avatar's Black Waltz are my runner's up for 'holy fuck do I love these albums' this month.

Heading back up north today. Going to North Dakota to spend a few days with family and friends, and taking my mate, pet, and some great stuff up there with me! I've got this excellent little faux Ben Franklin stove, an air mattress, and a crap ton of toys/gadgets to keep me entertained for the week and a half I'll be up there. Temps are actually dropping to 0 degrees at nights up there, so I've also got an excuse to 'keep warm'. Here's wishing a happy holidays to all my friends and family online, and hope you all have fun while I'm outta reach. ^_^

I just got back from a four day long roadtrip up to New Town, ND. It was originally Minot, but things changed on the way. It was pretty awesome. Went gambling, drinking, etc. Had a blast, stayed in a casino hotel, got plenty of ice/a little snow. Stayed on an indian reservation. All sorts of stuff. Thank whatever deity for Sirius radio and GPS. My little TomTom worked rather admirably, despite being in the middle of BFE for most of the roads. The real kicker was the trip back when I drove for almost fourteen consecutive hours. Never. Again.

I love how we get two or three days of cool air, tricking us into getting out all our winter clothes, then the temperature promptly jumps way the fuck back up to about eighty degrees on a -daily- basis. I'm so pleased. No, really. I've always wanted an excuse to slap the christ out of Mother Nature, and after a few seasons of this, I'm sick of it. If global warming suddenly reverses itself for seemingly no reason, you'll know I succeeded in tracking down the elusive thermostat destroying hag.

So because of Borderlands 2, I learned about Nero. Namely their song Doomsday, which was released all over the BL2 Joypuke trailer. I finally managed to get out and buy the album Welcome Reality. While there's a few tracks on there that don't really do anything for me, I honestly found it to be pretty enjoyable. I ended up listening to the whole album on repeat/shuffle a few times while I did various stuff online, and it's very, very listenable. If you guys haven't tried their stuff yet, but love dubstep, it'll probably be a pretty solid addition to your collection.

So, it was kinda hard to wake up today. Normally what I'll do is listen to some metal to help me get kinda amped up. Going on half an hour, can't stop listening to FFDP, not getting anything done. Derp! These guys are ear drugs.

So. I live in Irving. People who live near it, obviously know where it is. Pounced is neat, but I'm doing eighty percent of the work there, and I'm not such a social flower that I'll run up to random people and ask if they're furry. I'm bored as hell. Any Texas furs near me that have the day off?

I love 'em! Problem is, no one else (furry) seems to be awake in the early hours of Central time. It sucks! I've gotten into my own place, and it's a wonderful place to be when the sun rises. As a result, I'll hop online, but it's always so -empty-! So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone else get up before noon, and not just to go to work?

Was an absolutely terrible movie. All the humor was in the commercials for it, it was drawn out in places that could have been very easily condensed into one or two little lines, cut short in points that would have made great plot thickeners, and left all sorts of holes, compounding itself into one more nail in the Burton/Depp coffin that they seem destined to want to drag each other down into, along with Helena, Burton's wife. Maybe that wouldn't make a bad movie.

I've actually got a ton of cash, and not a DAMN thing to do with it now. No one's open for commissions, no one wants to go out to eat, and I've already bought pretty much everything I've wanted/that isn't a dumb idea. It's a weird kind of frustrating. Any one got any ideas?
