SEWED UP A SHARK TAIL TODAY :D
Posted 13 years agoI feel slightly accomplished, considering it took like... 5 times as long as it should have XD
the more I work on stuff, the less I notice my hand hurts. I might be able to force myself into working like normal again soon. Also, pics later~

haaaaand + art stuff + Fursuit stuff
Posted 13 years agoSo... I've been kind of busting out pictures the last couple of days *thankyou exacto blade* but I'm also trying to start workin on fursuit stuff again, which is also kinda sorta painful, but it needs to get done. I've got suit deadlines I need to meet, and I've already fallen behind on one *flails ;_; I'm so sorry
hirple*
But as a bit of a reminder on art, I do NOT do deadlines unless it's a badge for a convention or a very special occurance (anniversary, birthday, holiday that usually entails gifts like Valenties or Christmas). All the artwork will get done, and I'm still going to be taking it a little easy on fursuit work the next week, week and a half *progressively getting more into it again as my hand allows. Did a bit of sewing today after taping up
demisaurus's head* but I can't effectively do foamwork, airbrushing, or too much hot glue work yet.
But yeah, THe next several art pieces I'll be finishing up will be the commissions I have for
francis-34, one for
sutherncross2006 , a couple of badges, and the art pieces for the most recent solo character auction(the foxwolfthingamabobwiththeglowygreenarm). I'm not sure what exact order I'll be going in for those, but that's kind of close to what I'll be doing. There's a good chance I'll jump around between this batch, but now that MOST of the TCBY stuff is done *gotta do the tenta thing too* I'm gonna be working on busting out those.
Right now, I'm not sure If I'll try to go back into suit work, or draw some more, but aaaaa... this seriously sucks. ~ _~;

Still gimped - streaming in the mean time
Posted 13 years agothis.... blows
holding stuff doesn't quite want to work still. i can sorta type easier, but any pressure on the gash area has me cringing... which has me getting really paranoid about not being able to actually work on fursuit stuff right now. I've got one partial that's just this side of finished (moby, for
hirple, just need to airbrush and finish up the feets) but i've still got 4 partials for this month and another couple of foam bases to do, and 2 side projects (angry coyote/jackal head for auction-to be made into a partial over the next couple months, and the first pull resin base I got from
sushi-suits that will also be for auction. I'll also be offering up uncut bases for sale, as well as pre-hinged eventually. There's a bit I want to alter about the basemold first, but for now, everything's at a standstill)
good news is, we got the last bit of stuff for Narco to finish her partial (couple days ago, found the perfect fleece color at joanns) so once she gets the paw pads and tongue in her head, she'll be 'done' till she wants to try her hand at wefting hair for the mo-hawk.
in other news, gonna still be working on art. I got a bit distracted from commissions with the character designs the yesterday *sorry I didn't stream. Was having a minor depressed, but i'm... kinda over it. I don't get hurt often, so not being able to do simple normal stuff has me twitchy* but I'm setting up a stream now, so yeah.
I feel bad, cause I actually feel really sketchy right now, more so than doing lines/coloring... I may... take a couple of on the spot sketch commissions, if I feel like it. *badbadbad, should be working on the TCBYs and stuff for Francis* but... blarg, idk. my brain is kicking me. It needs a timeout. :C

taking an art day or two
Posted 13 years agoYeah, not gonna be working on suits for a couple of days. i took an exacto knice to the palm of my hand, so, it kinda really hurts, and I kinda need two hands for suit making. it's not horribad... but... still bad enough u cant really use it for a bit while it heals itself up.
also
typing is fun one handed.
i'll probably be streaming art from my other account todat and tomorrow, possibly wednesday too, but come thursday, i'll be back on suit work, no matter how my hand feels. cant afford to lose so many days just yet :c

Posted 13 years agoOK, so like, this is gonna be a longer term commission that I'll be done in the background of my current commish's, but I'll need the money... soon. Like... Next day or two, or at least in part, because the part+Repairs for my dumbass car is in the multi-hundred range because dicks.
But yeah. If I have the fur colors on hand, it'll be lower, if I need to order them, it'll be the higher, but I just... really need the money to be able to pay for this shit.
Fuck. I don't even.
Partial will include:
Head (any style)
Handpaws + Sleeves OR Shoulder-length Handpaws
Tail
Knee-length feet
I'm not gonna put any real limit on design. At the latest it will be done by february, so in time for FWA. Feel free to note me or comment me here if interested. This is only going to last until tomorrow afternoon when I need to be able to pay for the stuff sooo yeah.
welp. This is a thing.

Posted 13 years agoYeah, so, I started off doin something simple today *since Narc was passed out in the main work room, so I was banished to the living room till she woke up* and I got some tails knocked outta the way. got about 3 more to go. 4 if I decide to go completely nuckin futs and try and do a remake on Narco so she'll have at least a head/hands for Megaplex friday. BUT first things first, yo.
I might get her started on her own head, with supervision, and we'll see if she can hold her own 9 w 9
who knows~
X-posted from the main, cause I derped.

Posted 13 years agoI THINK I'm officially full for 2012. I may do a side project or two between now and the end of the year, but I've got one hell of a full plate throughout the holidays so sldkfjsldkfjsldfha;dsjfhasdf
; w ; thank you all so much who've been awesome enough to trust me with your suit designs!
This week was full of lag, work wise, and i'ma be honest, I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted to.
Moby has about half a face, and CC is no longer bald, but the only time I was really able to work on things was at night, cause the only pet-free room at the house we were housesitting was their garage, which in the florida heat was well over 100 degrees durring the day. I'm back home now though, so once I get everything re-settled this afternoon, I'ma be digging in hardcore and try and get Creamcheese done officially around the 23rd(give or take a day) and Moby done by the 27th, again, give or take a day or two, considering I'll be heading out to Megaplex to do some drop-offs, and maaaaybe hang out for a bit, though, I need to get onto the August suits ASAP~
I've got a HUGE order of fur coming in over the next week, too. Probably about 20-25 yards in total. ihavenoideawhereimstoringitaaaaaaa but yeah :3
Next big investment, suit wise, is gonna be some serious shelving units so I can store stuff @w@;

Payment
Material deposit is non-refundable(because I can't send the materials back) and is the first thing to be paid. This price will vary from commission. SHIPPING is NOT covered by the cost of the suit parts. This cost is in addition to the cost of the suit., so a $300 partial would be more like $330 with shipping added. This is because shipping varries re hand, but sometimes circumstances won't allow this, and the shipping price will be given to you upon shipment and reimbursement will be expected within one week of the suit's arrival. After one week (if other arrangements have not been made) I will send a payment request through paypal.
to commission, but will usually be around $40 for small pieces, $150 for heads, and $200 for partial sets. AROUND. The exact costs will depend on what materials I have on hand and what needs to be bought for the first time for me.
The remaining cost of the suit/bits will be split into payments which will vary from suit to suit. Suit/bits will be shipped upon completed payment, with shipping. No exceptions.
REFUNDS/BACKING OUT
Material Deposit is NOT refundable. Refunds will consist of the remaining cost of the suit/bits. Some bits may be nearly 100% materials cost *like hands and tails*.
If you need to back out of a commission at any time, refunds will not be immediate. Since I use commissions to help pay bills, I've probably already used it in part on my end. Refunds will be made in 4 payments in 25% incriments, reguardless of the original payment plan.
If the refund is asked for a fault of my own, payments will be started as soon as possible. The suit will be partially dismantled and sold via auction, to be completed as a different character than originally intended. If the suit is already "Finished" when the refund is asked for, I'll be stripping parts of the suit to alter the design how I see fit, or how the new buyer see's fit, for at least a 30% visual difference from the original design.
If the refund is asked for a reason of any other origin, the suit/bits will be put up for auction on furbuy and will be started after the auction has ended and a new buyer has been found for the suit, to be completed as described above.
Deadlines
The default deadline/turn around time for a partial (head, hands, tail) will be 3 months, though it may be completed before then.
The default deadline/turn around time for a head alone will be 2 months.
The default deadline/turn around time for any other bits (hands, tail, headband ears/tail set) will be 1 month.
IF a material *usually fur color* shows to be hard to find, the deadline may be pushed back due to not having the actual materials available. This kind of thing will be evident VERY early on, usually in the first week. From there we can figure out if you still want me to try and make this by the deadline, or make it a 'floating' deadline that will be based on when the actual materials are gotten.
A floating deadline is when the time span *ex. 3 months for a partial* will be from the time materials are found, rather than the date of the commission.
This can be exempt for marking colors with help from the airbrush to create custom colors that you can't normally find, but if it is a main fur color, this might not be do-able.
RUSH ORDERS CAN BE MADE. A rush order is a deadline that is 2/3 the normal time frame OR LESS. I think I could technically put a partial together in one week of near non-stop work, but RUSH ORDER DEADLINES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. I WILL NOT substitute quality for speed.
Rush order 'adjustments'
differences in shipping are in addition
to the base cost of the suit or pieces
*2/3 time or less rush orders incur an extra $75
*1/3 time or less rush orders incur an extra $200(instead of $75)
(because balls, that's not a lot of time to make anything)
*Shipping is now 1 day or overnight, paid by the buyer
*Shipping on materials is now 3 day to overnight, shipping difference paid by the buyer
*If the rush order is less than 1/3 the usual time, it is now a priority
commission and will be bumped to the front of the que. Other
suits will be put on hold for a short time until the rush is
finished.
'Checking In' on suit progress
.... I'm not going to say don't, but I will be brutally honest. Getting a ton of messages in a short time *about a week* asking for constant updates on progress reeeeally makes me not want to work on something. Yes it's stupid, but it's a fact. Like a nagging mom wanting you to take out the garbage now instead of when the commercial break happens in 5 minutes.
I may have multiple suits/bits I'm working on at a time, and your suit is more likely to be worked on closer to the deadline than months in advance unless it's the only project I have at the time, and I tend to jump around between projects constantly, AND I tend to work on projects I find personally more appealing first *again, kinda stupid, but I can't help it. I see something pretty and I want it to happen NOW*.
That said, I'll try and put up progress shots as they happen *in my scraps most likely*. If it looks like it's getting closer to project deadline time, and I haven't put anything up, feel free to poke me about it, gently. It's possible I just forgot to post something, or I had an issue that isn't major enough to post a baww journal about that's keeping me distracted *like family pestering me for togetherness time, or a small illness that just makes me feel like poop XD* but I'll try to keep checking in, or have my mate check in if I've seemed a little dead.
I also have more projects than just suit making to tend to *art, sculpting, plushies etc* so I may have gotten into a swing with some of those. I'm an artist. It happens. And I appologize in advance if it makes you feel anxious about your suit's progress if it happens <:3 I'll try to stay focused because I understand a suit is an expensive investment.
I'll also be trying to take a bit of extra time to make the suits to the best of my ability, because a suit should look like the character it's of, and not like every other husky/fox/wolf/cat/thing out there. I may end up trying a new technique that may or may not work out well, so I might have to 'deconstruct' parts of a costume because of a flub on my end, and I don't think seeing something that was looking nice get part of it's face ripped open is something everyone wants to see XD *though if you do, let me know in the begining and I can get you 'ohgodwhathappenedtoit' shots XD*
Shipping
Shipping default is going to be 3 day with signature tracking, which is NOT covered by the original quoted cost of whatever bits I'll be making for you. If you'd like a cheaper shipping agreement, it can be discussed no problem, but the default will be 3 day. If I end up running late on a suit a bit and need to 1 day or over night it, I will cover the DIFFERENCE between 3 day and the overnight, but the original price for 3 day will still be paid for by the buyer if a cheaper method is not arranged before hand.
i.e., I'm running late and the 3 day shipping is $25, but overnighting it will cost $60, I'll pay the extra $35, but the buyer will still need to pay the original $25 agreed upon.
IF THE BUYER DECIDES THEY NEED IT BEFORE THE AGREED DEADLINE/DEADLINE MONTH IN AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME(at least 3 weeks notice MINIMUM) any shipping differences will be paid by the buyer.
i.e., If the buyer decides 2 weeks before a convention they want it by that convention, but the suit is not scheduled to be done until 4 weeks later and I have to rush to get the suit finished and end up having to overnight said suit, the buyer would pay the full $60 for shipping. Also, the secret word for the quote form for this month is Kiwi, just so I know you read this. A little sneaky, true, but so many people don't, and there's a couple key things in here people need to know about.
In the event that a convention is coming up and the deadline is looming dangerously close, It can be arranged that the suit can be shipped to the hotel *in most cases* and picked up at the front desk*or package pick-up, which some hotels have*.
In the event that I'll be at the same convention you need your suit/parts, a pick up MIGHT be able to be arranged, IF I'm driving and IF there is room in the car for it, at half the price shipping would normally be. This needs to be pre-arranged at least 1 month in advance so packing on my end will be able to be accounted for properly. DO NOT rely on this method.
I have noooo idea what it did, so.. If you're looking for a quote, or need to contact me for something, feel free to e-mail me at LigerSprinkles[at]live.com
Also, I'm gonna put my prices here *under construction as they are, at the moment* until I can get this stuff figured out 0 _0;

Fox(ring between main and tip color included if desired), 'straight' Husky, Curly husky, 'small' Lemur/Redpanda, medium Dragon/Snake Tails(30-50 inches): $45-$75
Lemur, Red Panda, large Dragon/Snake Tails (50 inches +): $90 and up.
**Horse Tails (roughly 6-8 inch tail 'body', 4-6 inches of Weft'd hair, no color limits, hair length up to 48"): $45-$70.
Price Additions
Extra color: $30/$20 per.
Intricate detail: $20 and up.
Weft'd Hair (mane/underside): $20 per foot.
Weft'd Hair (full tail circumference): about $5 per 'circle' (one circle is about 4 inches around and one ABOUT one inch of tail length. Weft'd hair can be any length over 4 inches) A lion tail tip would take about 2 or 3 circles, a **horse tail, 8 to 12.
Tails must be paid in full before starting.
Hands - $45 and up
Basic hands involve 3 or 4 fingers and a thumb and a palm paw pad made of fleece, single color. Wrist cuffs will reach about halfway to the elbow. Minor airbrushed detailing is free.
Price Additions
Claws*: $5(small/normal) - $10(LARGE)
2 Color: $15 +
Finger pads(fleece): $16/$20 ($2 per pad, basically)
Latex Pads: $30 (fingers, thumb, and palm only)
Long sleeve (to upper arm): $25
*Or claws can be ordered from another maker, which will be the price of the claws, +$5 to install them.
Hands must be paid in full before starting.
SLEEVE-SHIRTS: +$60 and up. These require a DTD and are a starting 2 color simple design. I don't make a sleeves only thing yet, sooo.. yeah. XD
FOAM BASE: $50 for just the base, $70 for base and eyes. (Following and glass eyes will be pre-installed. Flat toony eyes will just come with it, since installing those usually comes after furring)
For foam bases, just drop me a note on FA, or e-mail me at LigerSprinkles[at]live.com , since there's not a place for those on the quote/order forms.
PS~ Please make sure you read over my Terms Of Service!
There's a question on the quote and order forms that if it's not answered right, I can't give you a quote <:3

Last Updated : July 1, 2012
2013 Monthly Commission Slots - now with fullsuits
Posted 13 years agoOK.
So.
I've.. gotten several *lul, not kidding XD* quotes on what a full suit would be, so I'm figuring I'm gonna have to change up how I slot my commissions. One full suit will be taking up what would normally be 2 partial slots for me, per month, from now on. Heads *since those seem to take up almost the same amount of time as a partial for me* will be in the same kind of slottage as Partials, and I'll still only take 6 'bits' at a time.
My TOS and Price List seems to already need another overhaul, too @_@
And I May be putting a longer average wait time for heads and up because... I'm.. Actually spending a LOT more time working on these things than I originally thought it would take me ;_; so i'm kiiiiind of having a mini freak out on how long it's gonna take me to do some of these partials... BUT I know some of them have specificly needed by deadlines, and I'm gonna try my damnedest to make sure those are met, though, the ones that are a bit more flexible may be getting a little bit of time on the backburner, but I'm still going to try and get them done as closely in order as I can without falling too far behind.
I'm still halfway kicking myself for overbooking right off the bat, but that's my fault, so I'm gonna suck it up and work my butt off for you guys <:3
I WILL NOT rush on suits though, which is why the time crunch is kind of worrying me... I'd rather take a bit of extra time on a suit than rush through and miss something, or have something not as secure and end up falling apart, or have it look shoddy, so if anything gets sacrificed, it's going to be speed. Not quality. And JUST IN CASE something takes longer than planned, I hope that's ok with everyone. And I'm saying this waaaaay ahead of time so people can have heads ups and stuff, but yeah. I'm hoping this won't be the case, cause I wanna do this right, but.. yeah. Just sayin <:3
AAAAAnywho, back to business as usual. Got hot glue on my leg, so... I figured I'd take a break. Latex is almost done curing for Moby's face and paws, and Creamcheese has facial features now :D
.. Still bald though. All over. His face. Furless fursuits look funny XD

Quotes and Orders Back Open/ ATTN: Current Commissioners
Posted 13 years agoTo everyone~
Quotes and orders are INDEED open again~
Quote form: http://ligercraftsuits.webs.com/quote-form
I'm also going to very tentatively be opening up for full suits, but I don't actually have base prices for those yet. The absolute minimum though will probably be around $700, and go up from there.
To CURRENT COMMISSIONERS~
If you could, please fill out the Order form: http://ligercraftsuits.webs.com/order-form
I've got it updated with a bunch of measurements, so before I get too into finishing up Moby and Creamcheese, and getting started making the rest, getting this info ASAP would be amazingly helpful <:3
Also, for the contest winners, your partials are considered light partials.

Discounts
Posted 13 years agoSo, you wanna ask about discounts?
No prob :D
There's 3 main ways, currently, to get a pretty discounted suit from me.
-Artistic Freedom
-Pre-designed
-Seasonal Makers Choice
The first is probably the most common method among suit makers. Give me a species, gender, and single color OR LESS and I'll come up with a suit for you. No WIP pictures will be given, no previews until the very end, and whatever it is I come up with is whatever it is you get. These will have a minimum price of $200 for a partial, $150 for a head, so less than half, BUT on the flip side, the more you offer up for the price of your bits, the more detailed and intricate I will go with it. The base starts off at a 2 color, semi simple design, and can be realistic or toony, or a mix of the two. It could start out extremely simple in the original concept for a minimum price suit, but end up something ridiculously detailed, cause I felt like it.
Also, I'll be looking through your gallery and faves, so it won't be 100% Random. I still want you to love what you get, so I'll use little clue's from there to figure out what I'll be making from you.
The Pre-Designed Suits are just what they sound like. These will usually have a set price attached to them, which will 9 times out of 10 be way lower (usually material cost and a little extra for labor, sometimes a bit more if I kinda don't wanna make it at the same time... it's odd XD) than what I'd charge if someone commissioned me for it on their own, and it wasn't designed by me.
Pretty much, these are things I WANT to make, and while 90% of the details are set in stone, small adjustments, design changes, color changes, are possible, but I have to ok them first. These are kind of like my babies, but I don't have the time to make them on my own, so someone commissioning them would be amazing. I've got them linked below for anyone that'd be interested :3
Seasonal Makers Choice is just what it sounds like. Every 3-4 months, once per season, I'll host a contest and pick ONE suit submitted to make. It will be a simple partial, Head, wrist length hand paws, and a tail, for a FLAT $150. This is intended to give people that can't afford the typical prices.
I'll post up a journal for the contest, and in order to enter, I need people to post their suit design and if you'd rather it be more toony or more realistic(THE REFERENCE PIC YOU GIVE ME WILL BE WHAT I BASE THE ENTIRE HEAD OFF OF, DOWN TO THE EXPRESSION. BE VERY AWARE OF WHAT YOU'RE POSTING). ALSO, a journal must be posted to advertise this contest and LINKED in your own post as proof.
ALL Detail options will be decided by me, and the deadline for this suit will be 6 months from the contest deadline instead of my current 3 month minimum deadline (Which i will probably be changing VERY Soon, since i'm taking a lot longer on these heads than I originally thought I would 0 _0;)
Each time I'll be looking for something different in a costume, sometimes I'll be going for more detailed stuff, other times, simple. Sometimes I'll look for scary, cute, or some other emotion that I haven't gotten to play with. I never know~
No prob :D

Commission Queue
Posted 13 years ago The "Deadline period" for each month will include the last week of that month, and first week o f the following month for possible completion if an exact date/convention isn't decided on.
EX. September deadlines would be the last week of September and first week of October(or the last month of September that bleeds into the first month of October), so a 2 week window of completion. Some suits won't be started until their month of completiong *so, begining of september* But in most cases will have been started before hand unless something happened and delays blah blah blah, but that kind of info will be shared and posted here along with each commission.

Suit Reviews
Posted 13 years agoGanked from
fursuitmakerreviews because it's the most comprehensive review form I've seen so far.
This is intended for the initial reaction/use of the suit so I can get feedback on what I'm doing well, what needs to be improved, and for other possible customers to read first hand reviews on my work :3
I realize suitmaking is a much more delicate and involved method of commission work than just art, so I want to make sure I've got everything covered :3
Pretty much, if you've gotten a suit or suit bits from me, copy and past this into a comment and fill it out, good or bad, but please try to be professional about both aspects. I'm looking for constructive critisism, not "OMGHAY THIS SUX!!!!11!!11!1oneeleeven!!!!!" Try to be specific about things you like and things that need improvement! Thank you~ <3
