Regarding Any Upcoming ID Verification Systems
Posted 3 months agoSo, with the current state of the things, I figured I should let you know what my intentions are moving forward, now that YouTube and many other social media sites are gearing up to implement this mass ID age verification system in the coming weeks.
First off, to be clear. I WILL NOT BE GIVING MY ID TO ANY COMPANY OR GOVERNMENT ONLINE!
And before you ask, NO, it has nothing to do with me being secretly under aged. I'm 32 years old. I honestly could care less what age they think I am. That's not the problem. The point, is that both governments and companies are rolling out this new system world wide, in order to seed the beginnings of what will likely become digital ID, a surveillance state, social credit scores and massive censorship control. In other words, they want to go full Big Brother, all under the guise of "protecting the children."
That being said, I'm NOT going anywhere, I will continue use the internet and YouTube as usual, unless they ask for my ID. At which point, I will simply not comply.
And whether you agree with me or not, or you think that I'm just being paranoid or conspiratorial, that's up to you. You do whatever you feel like. Just keep in mind that putting your government issued ID onto hackable and likely unsecured servers, is within the general realm of bad ideas. The TEA app is the perfect recent example. Millions of women just had their ID's and personal information leaked out onto the web for everyone to see. To believe that any government or company would properly secure your identification is laughable.
...
We are seeing this new verification system roll out in places like Europe, Australia, Canada and unfortunately it appears to be rapidly making it's way to the States. Apparently The United States Constitution and the first amendment mean nothing anymore. Since foreign influence is pushing American Tech giants into compliance. YouTube is proactively implementing an automatic AI identification system. One that will determine your age by the kinds of content you consume. If it deems you are under aged, You can correct this by uploading a government issued ID. Which I will NOT be doing.
Let's face it. It is a very unfortunate fact that animation is largely considered by most people, as being strictly for children. Obviously this is not true, but that is the sad reality we live in. We all know that YouTube AI's and algorithms are at some point going to label me and every other animator out there as "FOR KIDS." I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've come across a very adult animation that included swearing, gore, drugs, adult situations and even nudity. Only for it to be labeled as "FOR KIDS." Simply because it is animated content. The algorithm is incredibly stupid.
In a somewhat funny and ironic twist, the odds are very likely that children who are desperate to trick the AI into believing that they are adults, will proactively watch tons of adult content. Meaning that this will actually lead to a dramatic INCREASE of children watching the exact kind of content YouTube claims they are trying to curtail.
...
So where do we go from here? Am I saying that we should simply stop using the internet. NO! Not at all! What I'm saying is that we should not comply to foolish and blatantly evil attempts to control the world. It is time we began to decentralize and return the internet to the way things used to be.
Once upon a time, in a place called the late 80's to early 2000's, there was a magical kingdom known as, The Internet. What made this kingdom special, was that anyone could have a piece of it. You could own your very own mini kingdom. These mini kingdoms were called, Websites. It was a joyous time. You could post what you wanted, say what you wanted and people from all over the world would occasionally stop by to see what you had to offer.
THEN THE DARK AGES HIT!
or
THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED!
Which ever you prefer.
The internet was conquered by Big Tech Giants and everyone was forced into centralized internment camps called, Social Media. A place where you couldn't say what you wanted, do what you wanted or post what you wanted without the guards coming by with big ass sticks to beat the ever living metaphorical shit out of you.
I think you get my point.
...
I'm not looking at this like a doomer. I think this is a fabulous opportunity to rebuild the web the way it was supposed to be. But in order to do that, it requires that we do not comply to their demands and we start building individualistic websites once again.
I used to see so many amazing artist with their own sites. They were great! The sites themselves were a canvas of creativity. It was interesting and you never knew what you were going to find. That is what we could go back to, if enough people were willing to try.
And I know what you are thinking. It's so much harder to be discovered or get your website seen! Well, yes and no. Google is not a search engine anymore. It's a wall of advertisements and AI generated responses, but there are still some good search engines out there and some new ones in development. We just need to find them. I personally use Brave search. I think they are pretty good.
We also used to be seen by adding ourselves to directories. In addition, many sites (Including mine) still use RSS feeds, which in my opinion should have been how we subscribed and kept up with people.
...
Where you can find me?
Like I said, I'm not going anywhere, unless I'm asked for my ID. Maybe I'll get lucky and they won't even bother with me, but I'm not taking any chances.
I'm going to drop a link to my websites "links page." It list everywhere you can find me online. So if disappear from one, you can find me on another.
https://www.sabercolliestudios.com/link-map
As far as YouTube is concerned, again, I will continue using it until I can't.
I encourage you follow me on Rumble, who I am hopeful will avoid this ridiculous system. They've done a great job of saying F U to foreign governments and their censorship demands in the past, so I consider them a viable backup to YouTube.
https://rumble.com/c/c-1328814
Again, check out my website and sign up for my newsletter. Every week I send out an email with comic updates, new animations when I have them and any important announcements. It's the best way to stay in touch with me in the event of all social media being stupid.

Jurassic World Rebirth Review (SPOILERS)
Posted 4 months agoWarning Spoilers Ahead! Do no continue if you do not wish to be spoiled!
Oof, where do I even start with this one.
I guess I'll start by saying it was probably a 5/10. Maybe a 6/10 depending on how you look at it. The movie itself was fun to watch, The dinosaur scenes were great and suspenseful, but boy was the acting and directing terrible. Even Scarlett Johansson, who usually does a better job, looked like she was phoning this one in. It was more of a paycheck. The chemistry of the characters was non existent.
The best way I can describe this is that it was like someone took a low budget Sci-Fi channel director and gave him a high budget film. It fed off of elements from movies like Deep Blue Sea and Anaconda. Where you have a group of people who are trying to cure (Insert Disease Here) Only to end up fighting monsters instead.
That's the other thing. The dinosaurs were great, but this really was more of just a monster movie. Very Sci-Fi channel movie esc. Which hey, I actually love stupid movies like that. But for a big budget Jurassic Park movie, this was not the place to do that.
Another weird thing. The movie is titled Rebirth. ...Rebirth what? Nothing get's reborn. The title doesn't even make sense.
The movie took around 40 minutes to get going. Which reminded me a lot of Peter Jacksons King Kong. A movie I love, but also hate do the fact that Jackson can't cut a scene to save his life. It was annoyingly long and drew out just introducing the characters and getting them to the island. This particular director just seemed all over the place. He was trying too hard to get you to care about the characters and it felt like they had the focus on way too many people.
When I saw the original trailer. They made it sound like this movie would be taking place on Isla Sorna. Which, unfortunately they did not do. This movie takes place in the equator on some random island where apparently Ingen was doing mutant gene splicing experiments for the original Jurassic Park. They really try to drive home that dinosaurs are going extinct again and they can only exist in remote tropical environments.
...So, basically back to the original idea. Calling this Jurassic "WORLD" didn't really make sense, because now they are back to being exclusively on remote islands.
Commenting on one scene in the beginning. The supposed Paleontologist refers to both the Mosasaur and the Quetzalcoatlus as dinosaurs. Which I immediately knew would piss off most dinosaur enthusiast and paleontologist. Because if you didn't know, both of these species are not dinosaurs. The Mosasaur is an aquatic marine reptile and the Quetz is a flying reptile.
One thing I will say that I kind of liked was the little protoceratops Deloris. At least, I think that's what she was. Correct me if I'm wrong. She was a fun little addition to the movie, something we never really got out of any Jurassic movie before, was a friendly dinosaur. BTW, the little girl just straight up stole Deloris from the island and nobody stopped her. Nobody said, she needs to be with her kind or this will cause problems bringing her back with us. Nope, just let the child steal a dinosaur, that was kind of odd and funny.
The best scene in the movie by far is the T Rex scene. Which if you've ever read the original Jurassic Park novel, you'll recognize that this whole scene was adapted from the book. It's a scene that was never used in the original Jurassic Park movie, but was awesome to finally see. The Rex they use was great and I'm kind of disappointed that he never returned. I will say that you have to suspend your belief as to how that whole sequence starts. Again, it was just bad directing. The teenage girl needlessly goes to get a raft, past a sleeping T rex and needlessly they all get into the raft while it's standing in front of them. To which, anyone who is watching the movie, is left wondering, why didn't you just wait for the Rex to leave. Why do everything in front of it and and expect that you would be able to out paddle it. It was a very odd choice. I would have had them just get raft first, before introducing the Rex, because that would have been more believable. But like I said, the rest of the sequence was beautiful. I loved it.
Some other interesting tidbits. The scene where the kid is peeing and the two raptors sneak up on him only to be killed by the mutadon. That scene interested me because if you paid attention, you notice that they are the variants from the third Jurassic Park. I would have liked to have seen more of them, but I do understand that the raptors needed a break from the spotlight, considering that they were in every single movie prior to this.
It was nice to see the Dilophosaur again, but once again, I feel like it was too short lived. I had thought for sure they were projecting that it would kill the main bad guy at the end, but no. It was only on screen for like 10 seconds.
The scene with the Spinosaurs was interesting. Obviously they decided to go with what is now the current iteration of what Paleontologist feel the Spinosaurus looked like. It is significantly less threatening than the Jurassic Park 3 Spino, but still interesting that they used it. I personally would have loved to have seen the JP3 Spino and these new ones together. They do sort of explain it in the film that they are mutants. Also, most fan theorist have concluded that the JP3 Spino was a actually a hybrid concocted by Henry Wu.
I love the titanosaur scene. Bringing back the original score was a beautiful moment. Just a great scene overall.
The Quetzelquotalis scene was interesting. First time we ever saw a pterosaur eat someone. So that was fun. Also, I thought it was interesting and fun that they had it nesting inside what look like Mayan ruins. Which is where the mythological Quetz comes from and where the animal got it's name.
The mutadons where somewhat interesting, cool design, but like I said, they were more just monsters. And when they do appear is when the movie stops being a Jurassic movie and becomes a full on Sci-Fi channel monster flick. Honestly, I'm just tired of the whole hybrid/mutant thing. I love dinosaurs, so I love seeing real species and there's still so many that haven't been touched on and it's upsetting that the Jurassic franchise hasn't figured this out.
The Distortous rex, again, it's just a monster. And before you say anything, I get it. Jurassic Park has always been a story about the dangers of genetic engineering and the evils it can unleash. But the D Rex was a very unappealing and poorly designed monster. It had no form or function. I just didn't even really care about it. Even weirder, the D Rex is still alive! It just left. There was no final showdown between the T Rex and the D Rex. And it kind of felt weird that it left and they didn't kill it off. Almost as if they are planning on using it in future movies. Which I hope they don't.
Overall I would rate this as the second to last worst Jurassic movie. Even though it was a very fun monster survival movie. I know some people will disagree with me heavily. I'm putting it above Fallen Kingdom, which I have as dead last on my. I hated that film, still do, I still think it was the worst of all of the Jurassic movies. For some reason, tons of people loved Fallen Kingdom and hated Dominion, but I actually thought that Dominion was a fun movie that introduced tons of awesome dinosaurs. Including my favorite, the Therazinosaur. I wouldn't rate it the best, but I still say it's better than this movie.
Some people might freak out that I have JP3 above World, but as much as people knock on JP3, it was still superior because it used true practical effects, animatronics and limited CG. While focusing on many new dinosaurs and being just being a great survival movie.

Anyways, I think that's all I have to say about this film. If you haven't seen it. I still encourage you to go. There's still a lot of fun to be had, but just don't go in with high expectations.

When FA Opens Flood Gates
Posted 6 months agoUghh...It's going to be so annoying when FA finally does open the flood gates and allow you to post again.
I have a backlog of stuff I need to post. Which sucks, but there will also be such a massive flood of unposted art, it'll either crash the servers again or what you do post will be lost in a sea of forgetfulness.

How Is Nobody Talking About This?!
Posted 7 months agoScientists just made De-Extinction real!
Any other time in history, this would be the biggest story ever! But it’s being overshadowed by nonsense like the switch2 and the Minecraft movie!
They just made Jurassic Park an almost obtainable reality!
I had to double check to make sure I wasn’t being fooled by AI. Didn’t want to make an ass out of myself, but it’s real. They used CRISPR technology to meticulously reconstruct the genome of dire wolves! Using an ancient tooth and skull. There are two of them alive right now for the firs time in thousands of years! Both pups, nicknamed Romulus and Remus.
Click the link. You can hear them awoo!
https://x.com/colossal/status/1909247817672957959
Edit: So apparently they aren’t really Dire wolves. They genetically modified grey wolves to look and appear how they believe Dire Wolves would look. But that also is terrifying. That’s the other theme of Jurassic Park. The dinosaurs aren’t “real dinosaurs” they are “genetically engineered theme park monsters.” So these people are playing God with CRISPR technology and they choose dire wolves to gain public interest. So that begs the question, what horrors are around the corner with this technology? They may not be able to bring a genetically pure dinosaur to life, but they can genetically engineer one themselves.

Commissions Open, Price Changes And A Few Other Things!
Posted 8 months agoLike the title suggest. I am raising prices slightly. Just by five dollars though. With the exception of sketches, which will be remaining $15.
It's a little overdue for me.
Also.
I am going to start charging for backgrounds. Something I really should have done a long time ago. I had always left it open for me to decide if a pic needed one or not depending on how I felt about it. But as time has gone on and people have taken advantage of it, I'm putting down official prices. Which are subject to change, depending on what I'm asked to draw.
In addition. Something I always tried to avoid was drawing vehicles. They are certainly not my forte, nor are they my favorite thing to draw. But over time I've found myself drawing them for people and for some stupid reason I wasn't charging for them. So I'm also going to be charging for those as well.
Vehicles will start at the same base price as an additional character. But are subject to change, depending on the complexity of what I'm being asked to draw.
One more thing.
...And I can't believe I'm saying this, because I might be shooting myself in the foot. Seeing as I have on and off broken this rule. I will start allowing multiple characters again. TWO. ONLY TWO. If you would like to commission two characters in a single slot, you may. But here's the deal. I'm going to try it for a week or two. If, I find myself exhausted and burned out from it, (like I have in the past) It's right back to one.
I hope all of this makes sense and isn't over complicate. If you have any questions or if anything is confusing please let me know.
Here is the link to my website commission me page. Which has all of my commission info laid out better.
But I'll still list all of the updated prices below.
